Port to Port
The inaugural bluewater yacht race from Northport to Porthaven.

13 boats, 2902 kilometres. One race. Welcome to the Port to Port.
It was a good day for racing as the thirteen boats left Northport-San Baptiste and headed out into the open ocean. On the way though, they faced many different types of weather conditions. The super maxi's opened a big lead on their maxi counterparts early, as was expected, with Tame Barley IX looking like the boat to beat. However, as the wind turned against them, the rest of the field took over, with the eventual champions being Wishful Thinking of West Barunia. Their overall consistent speed saw them sail into Porthaven in a time of 4 days, 19 hours, 27 minutes and 44 seconds.

In the maxi class, the West Barunian vessel Westwind looked to have the race sewn up at the halfway mark, having claimed a lead of two and a half hours over their nearest rivals Odessa. But in a remarkable comeback, Odessa found some pace and sped past their opponents, going ahead towards the end. The Marion-based Odessa completed the last stage in under eleven hours to win the race over an hour and a half in front of Westwind, who came second.

The 1st MCSA Champion's Cup

The MCSA Champion's Cup is for football clubs who are the Champions and Runner-ups of their respective leagues. It is open to clubs from all countries in the Commonwealth.

The teams that contested the inaugural Champion's Cup are (numbers in [square brackets] are seeded rank):

From Barunia, West Bay Mariners [1] (Champions) and Woodvale Wolves [2] (Runner-Ups)
From Maalvia, Alisburg Tigers [3] (Champions) and Sourburg Flames [5] (Runner-Ups)
From Furellum, Upton-on-Rode [4] and White Market [6]
From the Marroset Islands, Kingstown FC [7] (Due to the small size of the league, only one entry was accepted)
From Nettia, Nettia FC [8] (Due to the small size of the league, only one entry was accepted)

The Champion's Cup consists of two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group going through to semi-finals. Each team will face their group mates twice. The host for the finals and semi-finals will be Maalvia. Group matches will be played in the first listed club's home stadium.

The results for the group stage of the 1st MCSA Champion's Cup are as follows:

West Bay proved why they are the top seed in this competition with a solid win over lowly Kingstown FC. Sourburg also gave their compatriots Alisburg a taste of revenge; Alisburg won the Maalvian league by just two points over the Flames.
In similar fashion, Upton-on Rode and White Market are two equally matched teams from the same league; the team from Upton victorious on this occasion. The big shock of the day was reserved for Nettia FC, the lowest ranked side here, holding the Wolves to a 1-all draw.

Nettia continue to be the surprise package, defeating White Market in a shock 2-0 result. West Bay Mariners also suffered an unexpected defeat, at the hands of Alisburg. The Wolves and Flames had wins as anticipated.

West Bay continue to struggle, with a draw to Sourburg putting the Flames clearly on top with 7 points, while the Mariners drop to 3rd with 4. The Tigers and Kingstown also saw out a draw, leaving Kingstown still looking for a win. Nettia finally succumbed to the pressure of being last seed; they suffered a massive 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Upton-on-Rode, while the Wolves also had a big win.

The Tigers showed the Flames why they topped the Maalvian league over their countrymen with a 6-2 win over the Sourburg side. Nettia continued to show that there early success was a flash in the pan as the Wolves ripped into them, while Upton-on-Rode once again proved to be the better of the two clubs from Furellum.

While Nettia continue to fall to pieces, Alisburg once again upstaged the Mariners. That moves the Tigers to the top of the table, while the Flames victory over Kingstown moves them into 2nd place.
The Wolves are topping group B, the only team still undefeated here. White Market's massive victory over Nettia was not enough to move them from 4th place though, still 1 point behind Nettia.

While the Tigers made certain of their place in the semi-finals with a win over Kingstown FC, the second spot in Group B looked to be going to the Flames. A defeat at the hands of West Bay saw them matched with the Mariners on points though, where a negative goal differential saw them drop to 3rd place behind the Barunian club.
The standings of Group B had been determined by matchday 5, and even White Market taking the fight to Wodvale and ending up with a draw was never going to change anything.

In the all-Barunian semi-final, Woodvale upset the might of the Mariners. In a defensive game, the Wolves held their line, and at the other end managed to break through, once, to book their ticket to the final. Alisburg had a slightly more definite victory over Upton-on-Rode, and the Maalvian powerhouse will have the home ground advantage in the final at National Stadium in Ralitzburg, Maalvia.

X-League Season 2 (League X+1) - Results after Round Eleven

The big shock of the X-League so far is the Woodvale Wolves, last year's runner ups and Commonwealth Cup Champions. Their 5-4 win over the Tridents is the only one they've managed all season, placing them firmly in last place. Port Newland meanwhile are showing the form that won them a Community Cup from the fourth tier. Darvalian keeper Lyndon Holmes has been instrumental in the Destroyers success, averaging just one goal conceded per game. Last Season's champions West Bay have dropped slightly, but are still looming large on the horizon with plenty of games still to be played.

The Barunian ministry for Sport today announced that a new National Rugby Union will be established in the country. The initial league will consist of six teams, growing to a likely 10 in the near future.

The teams are:
- South Havenia Bucks
- Marion Vikings
- Porthaven Lions
- Western Storm
- Newland Power
- Sheppardton Knights

An initial preliminary round has been played as a trial run, and also assisted the NRU Board with gathering performance data, which is useful for determining scheduling. The results for this season were:

OOC: I had problems with xkoronate which prevented me from accurately scorinating the rest of League X+1. This has forced me to redo the entire season. Apologies to anyone who had players in that league, and also for the delay.

League X +1

It's been a tough road for the X-League. One of the hardest hit of all industries by the sweeping and major industrial reforms that reshaped Barunia's economic landscape and led to a massive recession, many feared domestic football in the country was all but dead. However, with some support from the government and a new business plan, the X-league is back up and running. However, due to the massive amount of time since round 11 of the 2nd season, it has been decided to instead replay the entire tournament. Here we go for League X+1, take 2.

It was Marion State against the Territory of North Islands in the play-offs, with two teams from the mountain island competing against two from the Isles for the privilege of competing in the X-League next year. The National Hockey Leagues

It's been a long time coming, but finally the largest* domestic field hockey league in the multiverse is here! 126 teams in 7 leagues across 3 tiers, all vying for their chance at glory. The top tier is the National Premier League, home of the best of the best. Just below them are the hopefuls in the National Hockey Conference, looking for their own chance to enter the Premier League. In the third tier are the State Leagues: the Havenia State Premier League, West Barunia State Premier League, and Marion State Premier League. Also on this level is the combined state and territorial league of the Tildos and North Islands Premier League, and the University Premier League for university teams.

The Bucks proved to strong for the Power to hold off as they claimed the first NRU Premiership. The Bucks announced their dominance about halfway through the tournament, with a spectacular victory 51-7 victory over the Storm. Two games later, the Power got the better over the Bucks and took up the chase. A Bucks draw on Matchday 13 to the Knights and a thrilling 20-19 loss to the Storm the game after put the Power on top of the ladder. However, it was shortlived, with the Bucks regaining the ascendancy next game after the Knights continued their run of upsets with a win over Power. The stage was set for the 4th leg match-up between the Power and the Bucks to be a cracker, but the result stunned everyone: nil-all.

With the rematch not changing the points situation, Havenia had the upper hand, and they carried that slight advantage through to the end of the season, just managing to scrape past the Knights in round 18 to keep their hopes alive. They were going to leave nothing to chance next game - going all out, the Bucks destroyed the Storm 64-0. The final game, 29-0 against wooden spoon winners Marion Vikings, was a slightly anti-climactic way to wrap up their season, and ensure the Bucks victory in the first National Ruby Union Championship. Power finished just 1 point behind, having won their last few games, but could not catch the Bucks, and are now perhaps regretting their 7-3 loss to the Vikings on Matchday two, which proved to be the Marion team's only win of the season.

It's a sight few Barunian hockey fans would ever expect to see, at least not any time soon. SCU at the top of the ladder? The team that were perennial candidates for the wooden spoon have come good, announcing their intentions early with a shock late-goal win over the Bulls. The Bulls are right behind SCU, and are leading the established elite, whose dominance of the league has been clearly rocked by the arrival of so many new teams. That elite includes the Edwardton Eels, a powerhouse led by Tiffany Grouch, the nation's number 1 ranked player. Despite Grouch conceding the least goals of the top 5's goalkeepers, and the Eels strikers on song, they find themselves in 5th spot. But the big shock is the other elite team, the Piranhas, who have had a terrible season so far, only winning three games, and are in 12th place overall.

This is what it has all been leading up to - the finals of the National Premier League, the National Hockey Championships. The Bulls picked up the premiership flag, but can they add the championship trophy to it? The Eels dropped out of contention late in the tournament, will this be their chance for a comeback? The Barunian Hockey Federation presents
Season 2
of the
National Hockey Leagues

The second season of the multiverse's largest domestic hockey competition got under way at Newland Arena, with last season's Premier League Champions the Newland Bulls drawing South Coast University. The biggest win of the Premier League opening night was to league newcomers Harvey Town, defeating Newland City 6-1. In the NHC, the Lilyford Dolphins had a great start to conference play, defeating Hamilton Town by 7 to nothing.

In the Premier League, Odessa United opened an early lead, but lost it after being smashed by the University of Northport in round 3. South Coast Uni, the oldest school team in the competition, opened up their campaign with 5 wins to take the early lead after 9 rounds. However, the Eels are right on their heels, with one less game under their belts. The Eels squandered their chance to take the lead after SCU failed to overcome last season's outright champions Porthaven. Facing off against promoted South Dropshort Iron, the Eels gave away a penalty stroke to give their under-stated rivals the lead, before SDI picked up anothe to seal the deal and hand the Eels their first loss.
The Piranhas victory over SCU sees them retain fifth place, while the Bulls languish in 16th after a bad start from 7 games. The Bulls campaign looked promising after defeating their cross-town rivals in the Newland derby, but slumped with losses to Millers, the Eels, and the Reds. Harvey Town also defeated the Bulls in a narrow game that put the new team in a great position, but losses to NDT and HCU have seen them drop to outside the top 8.

In the NHC, Socialist Delmars closed the gap on top team Lilyford Dolphins, with a solid win over former premier league team Bayland. The Dolphins suffered their first loss to Waybridge Phoenix.

League X+2
Football is Back!

After what seems like forever, the next season of the X-League is finally upon us.
It kicked off with reigning champions West Bay being held to a scoreless draw by newcomers Marion Coast. Newland FC destroyed cross-town rivals and hot favourites Port Newland 6-2. Port Newland would also be involved in another high-scoring game in round 3, being on the wrong end of a 5-4 scoreline against the Wolves. The same scoreline was repeated in round 10, this time West Bay getting the better of Babbage Town.
Round 5 saw the second of the marquee games, with Edwardton taking on fierce rivals West Bay. The game ended as a draw, and kept West Bay from recaliming top spot from the Bluebirds, who have been the stand-out team so far. The Marion Hawks have made a welcome return to the X-League, defeating the Bluebirds and drawing West Bay, they jump to third on the ladder at the half-way point.

Some big names have slipped down the ladder as SCU hold on to their narrow lead in the second third of qualifying. The Bulls find themselves sitting in the relegation danger zone at15th, one spot below their cross-town rivals City and just 1 point from Haven City Uni, who are currently occupying one of the two instant relegation spots. The other is being held by the Otters, who are in desperate need of a win to turn their season around. The Piranhas and the Reds, 2nd and 3rd last season, have both failed to find their form with the Reds dropping to 11. Newly promoted Harvey Town have bounced back from a form slump to move up to 5th place.
