Welcome To The 2nd U-15 World Championship

Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Under 15 World Championship, where the best young players around the world will compete for their nation.

Format
There are 8 groups of 4, the top 2 teams in each group will then progress to the Round of 16, Final 8, Semi's, and then the Finals (or 3PPO).

Scorination
NSFS 3.0.1 will be used for this tournament.

RP Bonuses
RP bonuses will be judged daily on a scale of 0-4 & Rosters from 0-6. And will degrade during the knockout stage. RP scores will be based on creativity, style, and length. RP's that just summarize the game in a couple of sentences aren't appreciated, so don't expect to get a huge boost when RPing that way. In order to prevent bias the maximum RP bonus I will award myself is 2 pts. RP cutoffs will be set at 4:30 PM EST. (6:00 PM EST. on Saturday) (EDIT: Monday's Time will be as usual)


Vettrera
The Provincial Coalition of Vettrera is a large nation located in the Northeastern area of Bethel Park (MAP). The nation has a rich sporting history, but has not been very successful when it comes to association football. Under Vettrera's "PUSH" initiative, the nation has recently renovated many stadiums throughout the nation. The average temperature year round is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Much of Vettrera's terrain varies from the seaside areas of Western Vettrera, to the highlands of East Vettrera. Because of the weather this time of year, the tournament will be held in the western provinces of Vettrera (Cape Marshall, LaFayette, Hectate, and Demeter).

This field, home to the (former) powerhouse team Valencia Proper, is the largest stadium to be built prior to 1970. The stadium will be used for the Final Match, and the Final 8.

Rios Grandes/80,000 Capacity/New Cortez City, LaFayette
Located in Vettrera's cultural hub, Rios Grandes is one of the most historic stadiums in Vettrera still in operation. The stadium will be used for the 3rd Place Playoff, and the Semi-Finals.

DuPont Stadium/40,000 Capacity/Located in Morover, Demeter
This stadium is home to Regents University's association football team. Located near historic Morover, the field is said to be haunted, so much so that several players have transferred schools just to get away from DuPont Stadium. This will be used during the group stage and the Round of 16, and Round of 8.

Alabaster Memorial Field/38,000 Capacity/Located in Hart-Point, Hectate
The 2000 creation of Alabaster MF stirred up a controversy in the protectorate of Calvarie, when the city of Alabaster claimed they owned the rights to Alabaster Memorial Field (a name they had not used to describe their stadium in 12 years). This will be used during the group stage and Round of 16.

le Palais/35,000 Capacity/Located in Tigrera, LaFayette
Simply known as "The Palace" this stadium was just built last year, yet it is located in the historic area of North Tigrera. This stadium will be used for the group stage, and during the Round of 16.

Capital Plaza/32,000 Capacity/Located in Valor City, Vettrera
Located in the heart of Vettrera's Capital. Capital Plaza is surrounded by water on three sides, and is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the nation. This location will be used for the group stage, and round of 16.

Vaian youths, by law, cannot have their names released to the public until they are 17, and even then only by duo-parental consent. Therefore, because this Vaian team is composed of 15 year olds, no roster can be released nor specific players mentioned. Instead, all players are referred to by number or position.
This policy stems from an incidence in Grazak, a neighboring nation, in which a series of child actors, 8 in total, were abducted by a criminal known only from his cryptic notes as Mklogi. It was determined in his trial that he was able to track the youths through various mediums, including social networking sites, before devising plans to abduct them. This entire incident sent understandably huge shockwaves through Grazak and close nations, including Maklohi Vai. The current policy was developed along with another that limited information that minors could post on social sites.

[Equestrian States]

1. Short for the National Equestrian Sports Council. The NESC is the agency of the Equestrian government responsible for organizing the national teams of the Equestrian States as well as running any and all international tournaments to take place on the islands of the nation.
2. The Equestria Cup is the regional hoofball tournament of the Pony Lands and Equestria. It is run and hosted by the Equestrian States.
3. The all-time statistics do not include games during Di Bradini Cup 24 as the team was designated as the U-21 squad and included several members of the Equestrian national team that were under the age of 21 at the time of the tournament as well as the entire U-12 roster. The U-21 squad finished with a record of 2-1-1 overall, taking second place in their group before losing to Kiryu-shi in the round of sixteen.
Other Notes: Hoofball is what most ponies in the Equestrian States call the sport of association football as it is known as to many human nations. Most non-equines in the Equestrian States call the sport either by its traditional Equestrian name, or refer to it as soccer as is popular in other nations.

National U-12 Hoofball Team - 2nd U-15 World Cup Roster

Team Background
Following another run to the round of 16 in the 25th Di Bradini Cup, the youngest Equestrian national hoofball team will look to make a deeper run in the 2nd U-15 World Cup against players closer to their own ages.

The U-12 team was first sent to the Greg Jackson Charity Cup, where they were expected by most to fail miserably and likely fail to advance beyond the group stage. However, the fillies and colts of the team performed extraordinarily well, advancing to the quarterfinals ahead of several reserve and U-21 squads. Though the foals would fall to the eventual runners-up, the team's victories provided entertainment to those fans that enjoyed watching older and more experienced players fail to stop the youth of the Equestrian States.

When the NESC¹ was determining a team to compete in the second Brevity Challenge Cup, they decided to send the U-12 squad once again. Despite the success of the team in the Greg Jackson Charity Cup, the colts and fillies weren’t expected to make it very far in the invitational tournament. To the pleasant surprise of many, the team drew twice in the group stage before falling against Princess Beatrice Island. Relegated to the Copper Plate bracket, the team Equestrians would win three straight games to capture the Plate and finally get some domestic news coverage.

Looking to offer the team another chance at success, the U-12s were selected by the NESC to compete in Equestria Cup III² as the national team was in the midst of a run at qualifying for World Cup 60. However, against the ambitious national teams in the regional tournament, the team would struggle. Finishing with a record of 0-2-2, they failed to advance beyond the group stage, though they did gain some respect from the region’s teams for their performance.

The team would go on after the Equestria Cup to participate in the 24th Di Bradini Cup as the majority of the official Equestrian U-21 team that also included members of the national team. In the tournament, the Equestrians advanced to the knockout stage after finishing second in their group with a record of 2-1-0, their one draw coming against the group’s winner. However, the run was halted in the next match by the tournament’s eventual champions Kiryu-shi in penalty kicks after letting an early lead escape them.

Following their exit from the Di Bradini Cup, the Little Ponies returned to the Brevity Challenge Cup. While the team displayed considerable dominance during the group stage, finishing second in their group, they could not finish as strongly as before, dropping two straight matches in the secondary bracket to earn only a Pewter Spoon.

After another break, the U-12 squad headed back to Starblaydia for their second Di Bradini Cup, this time without the older national team players. While the Little Ponies didn't perform as well in their group, they did succeed in advancing once more to the round of 16. In the round of 16, the Equestrians would come close, but couldn't finish off the Farfadillis U-21s in a surprisingly close match, losing 1-0.

Giancarlo Paterel, manager of the Vakolicci under-15 association football team, unleashed another barrage of surprise selections to the press today.
Paterel, 41, has selected his 25-man squad to take part in the competition in Vettrera, but not all of the participants will be unknown to the Vakolicci supporters watching on Live-sport and Barecci television, the 2 companies awarded with rights to broadcast the championship.

Amongst the selections is flying winger Blacksen Domination, off the back of his goal-encrusted Vakolicci all-haven premier league season for United and Metrepolitan f.c., and his recent call-ups to the Vakolicci professional football team.
Joining him are bitter rival Laura Mccabe of Eastern Fire of Caldonaris at left back, Henry Liger of Paris Dal Sentaka, and central midfielder Roberto Dalani, of Roma Senarix, all capped for the Vakolicci national team.

Domination, Reiner on fire in shock victory

The focus of the Vakolicci people, both great and small, was at the 210,000 seater Stade Metropolitan tonight as the Vakolicci under 15s completed a stunning victory against champions United and Metropolitan.

United and metropolitan, who had to come to terms with playing against 3 of there top players, were no match for the blacing runs of Blacksen Domination, the under-15 captain and united and metropolitans league top scorer.

The winger scored once and laid the ball to the feet of team and club-mate Albert Reiner, who at 11 became the youngest player to ever score against the perenial money-makers of Vakolicci football.

[The Inevitable Syndicate]

Inevitable Syndicate Under-15's Jet Off To Vetrerra
The Inevitable Syndicate's Under 15 Team have entered the Under-15 World Championship, this cycle hosted in Vetrerra. The team is hoping to be a little more successful than the National Team proper was in the AOCAF, and it seems that we may be in with more of a chance this time.

The group that the Syndicate has been placed in is a reasonable one. Atlantian Oceania's own Lymantatia joins us in this group, with Northern Sunrise Islands and hosts themselves Vetrerra making up the other two. This should definitely be a very fun tournament for the Under-15's, and should teach them a thing or two about sportsmanship and fair play.

We managed to speak to David Burne, Minister of Education (Green), and got his thoughts on the competition:

Well, it's fantastic to see Syndicatian youth taking an interest in sport. As we all know, Physical activity is very important in order to keep fit, and it's really great to see some aspiring young folk step up and play for their country. I can only hope that this encourages others to aspire to great this, as we all know they can achieve it!

Under-15 world championships not a holliday, says Domination

The Vakolicci under-15 football team, including a host of names known all over the GVH, landed in host nation Vettrera this morning, with the famed rendition of national anthem 'stand in union' blasting the international airport before the arrival of the Bareccicorp Luxury aircraft, provided by Team captain and league top goalscorer Mr. Blacksen Domination of Celeria Province.

From the offset, the Vakolicci set about showing the world that they were taking this seriously with Blacksen Domination appeasing a VIN request for an interview.

It was a hard, stern face that looked back at me, and I was astonished when I realised that Blacksen Domination was still only 15.
When a players netting goal after goal, you tend to forget his age and, at least in my case, wished he'd stop making my team look like pentioners.

When I asked Mr. Domination about the challenge of the under-15 world cup, the United and Metropolitan winger replied "Well, it's a challenge, but it's a challenge I'm sure we can overcome. The stuff that Albert has been producing is just magic, you know...I'm going to make sure he gets some professional league experience in the summer. That's just it though...we start young. The rest of the world doesn't realise that yet, but look at the national team with an average age of 23."
In fact, Mr. Domination seemed more concerned about the off-field antics of the Vakolicci fans.
"It's hard for any professional to say that he can't trust his supporters, really hard, you know? But that's just it. I'm not going to lie, the Vakolicci are fanatical about sport, football, rugby it doesn't matter...but if they taste defeat they're going to be storming stadiums, we all remember the Caldonaris vs Metropolitan game.
But I'm telling you, if Beringia beat us, I feel sorry for the guys playing on that pitch. 35000 angry Vakolicci are not what you want to see."

U-15 World Championship 2 Roster

Riding on a two game hubris high, the Beringian National Football team met defeat in their last match. It seemed that the team would drive on into the BoF Finals but they lost steam and were stopped cold in a game against Bergnovinaia in the Aguazul Semifinals. After an average run for the adult team in the 39^th Baptism of Fire, and being torn to pieces in the 52^nd World Cup and Gaelic Football World Cup the new Under-15 National Football team is here to bring glory back to the Empire. Extensive training during the off season as well as a new coach should give the team the edge they need to make a name for themselves in this new tournament.
