ATEER POST-DISPATCH

The Javahe Islands had a solid day at the 100m World Cup today in Farfadilis. 3 out of five competitors in the men's section and 4 out of 5 in the women's section qualified for the second round tomorrow.

Melin NGapir, fastest Javahem in the Cup so far with a time of 10.53 had this to say about his country's efforts: "I'm really proud of us, especially the girls. We've all been working hard and definitely deserve what we've accomplished so far. I hope we can accomplish more. As for Jamin [Piiv] and Žegin [Zeeran], I feel bad for them, but that's life."

Timfen had a good day in the 100m world cup today.

In the mens competition, 4 competitors came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th to qualify for the next round of the competition. In the first heat, Milo Hinojosa came 2nd with a time of 10.47 seconds and Ray Newton came 4th with a time of 10.55 seconds. In the third heat, Ali Guier came 1st with a time of 10.37 and David Solon came 3rd with a time of 10.64. But, in the second heat Jake Mirtak only managed 9th out of 10 with only 5 people going through. When asked after the races had finished, Jake said "It's disgraceful how they organise this thing. I only came 9th but in an overall ranking I came joint 20th with 30 going through, beating 12 people that actually got through on the qualifying format being used for this tounament, and drawing with two others that qualified. All I can say is, I would not do it this way if I was organising this tournament. In the womens competition, Deedra Zieschang came 5th in her heat with a time of 12.85 seconds and Susan Louie came 1st in her heat with a time of 11.66. The other three, Molly Picarlo, Kimi Frusci and Wilma Wong only managed 7th, 9th and 7th with times of 13.12, 13.25 and 13.08 respectively. 6/10 qualified for the next round.

From: The Farf Olympic Commitee
To: The Timfenian Olympic Commitee

We'll cut directly to the point: we're shocked that one of your participants, Jake Mirtak, would criticize our way of organizing the tournament, just to blame someone else instead of admitting that he was simply inferior when compared to his rivals. We ask for you, the Timfenian Olympic Commitee, to make him reconsider on what he has said, and think once again why he lost; if he had been on another run, we're pretty sure he would've lost, as other players would've run even faster than they did, maybe he would've not ended up 9th, but he wouldn've not qualified for sure. We had thought that Sr. Mirtak was a good challenge for our best representant, but he clearly wasn't, and we kindly ask you to ask him to stop being such a sore loser.

Sincerely,
The Farf Olympic Commitee's Anonymous President

EDIT: From now on, remember my RP as the cutoff.

Also, please note that I ended up deciding to do a random draw again, as I thought it'd be a bit more fair.

The president of the FOC was angry, he hadn't received any reply, not even one, he was wondering what to do. The evnt didn't seem to be really important to most nations, too, and the final was really near, he decided to write a letter to every nation:

From: The Farf Olympic Commitee
To: Every Olympic Commitee Taking Part

We'd like to kindly ask you that you somehow give this event a bit more importance; it's getting dull to see no fans in the stadia and almost no news when the Grand Final is so near, we'd really appreciate if you did something, anything. The Semifinals (which are the Finals of each category) ahev almost started, and there are no reporters here excepting Farf ones, this is shocking to the FOC, and pretty much anyone here in Farfadillis.
Furthermore, we've noticed that most high-ranked participants did poorly during the first rounds, which makes us think that they don't respect this World Cup at all, regardless of it being a World Cup.
We're really sad with this, just in case you didn't notice.

Sincerely,
The Farf Olympic Commitee's Anonymous President
