That would be nice.

Oh that thread had so much history in it, but at lest it will be saved and hopefully archived.

I doubt the Mods will see any need to archive it, since it's not gonna be autopruned or anything like that.

Editing done.

For extra 'let's not lose our history' fun, I've even added links in the OP to both of the previous WCDTs since the move to the present forums.

The infant nation of Mirage Paradise has recently instituted a fledgling football (soccer) league consisting of 8 teams. Thanks to stable government funding, coaching imports from football-frenzied neighboring nations in the East Pacific, and a strong youth development system/league, the MPPL (Mirage Paradise Premier League) has experienced rising attendance rates and better standards of football. The teams are as follows:

Buchios Town
Based in Saffron City, Kanto Region. (Borough of Buchios)
Home Stadium: Grand Buchios; capacity: 39,155
Home Kit: Red/white shirt (horizontal stripes), white shorts, black socks.
Nickname(s): Mew Army
Canalave Bastiodons
Based in Canalave City, Sonnoh Region
Home Stadium: Canalovia; capacity: 62,003
Home Kit: Black shirt (w/ green sash), green shorts, black socks.
Nickname(s): Bastiodons; Lovnadionlas
FC Pewter
Based in Pewter City, Kanto Region.
Home Stadium: Onyx Memorial Stadium; capacity: 17,049
Home Kit: White shirt, gray shorts, black socks.
Nickname(s): Stonemen
Hoenn Athletic Sports
Based in Mauville City, Hoenn Region.
Home Stadium: The Groudon Cave; capacity: 14,887
Home stadium with smallest capacity in the MPPL; the north, east, and west stands have seating, and the southern portion is a huge cliff that harbors the stadium's big-screen display. No seats exist on the southern portion.
Home Kit: Blue/black vertical stripes on home shirt, black shorts, white socks.
Nickname(s): The Cavemen; Groudons
Jubilife Pokétch FC
Based in Jubilife City, Sonnoh Region.
Home Stadium: Pokétch Arena; capacity: 58,441
Home Kit: Red shirt, red shorts, red socks.
Nickname(s): Jubilees; Corporate Money FC; Thrashers
Nilverran
Based in Saffron City, Kanto Region. (Borough of New Pewter)
Home Stadium: Nilverran Stadium; capacity: 20,326
Home Kit: Blue shirt, blue shorts, white socks.
Nickname(s): Blues; Nilvers
Real Olivine
Based in Olivine City, Johto Region.
Home Stadium: Stadium of Minerals; capacity: 20,858
Home Kit: Navy shirt (with white stripe in middle), navy shorts, red socks.
Nickname(s): Steel Minerals
Vermilion United
Based in Vermilion City, Kanto Region.
Home Stadium: Rocket Field; capacity: 21,240
Home Kit: Yellow shirt, black shorts, black socks.
Nickname(s): Golden Bolts; Rocketos

The results from the MPPL inaugural season and squad lists will be posted in the near future.

The national youth system directors have embraced a slow-tempo, short-passing, technique driven standard of play - qualities that have been reflected in the improved standards of the MPPL league. The humble nation of Mirage Paradise hopes to assemble a formidable men's national team in the near future and participate in World Cup qualifiers.

Thank you for your interest and your time.

Good news! It means you get to induct one of your players into the World Cup Hall of Fame. You get one entry for every 7 times you try and qualify.

Not in this bid. Playoffs are not set in stone each campaign, it's up to the hosts to determine the format for qualifying, including any possible playoffs.

Akbarabad remembers correctly and Liventia is spot on. That's because the bid specified two main possibilities for a playoff, one for twenty groups (two legs home and away) and one for twenty-four (the pods in use) to cater to different possibilities for total entry. Either format would require two matches, but the second qualifies fewer teams to correspond to the smaller number of slots available after group winners are considered.

After mucking about on NSwiki for a while I've realised that the 'Here Come The Girls' era of the NSWC was quite clearly 50-53, while 54-59 deserves essentially an entire Aguazul article, as nobody has dominated quite so singularly in such a short time.

It will, however, have to include Sorth's back-to-back titles, as glossing over that would be particularly unfair.

Needs a name, though, and I can't think of one quite yet. Something like 'Repointing the Compass'?
