Oh also, what can I partcipate in to raise my rank?

As in, a bid to host? Technically most things are 'accepted' in a bid to host, but a nice picture of a city isn't preferable to the more vital OOC information and would in no way replace it. It's IC padding. Nice, attractive, but not essential.

Ranking in the KPBs? The only events that affect that are the BoF, WC qualifying, the WC itself and the CoH.

Yes of course. OoC comes first but at least I don't have to try and do an outline on paint or something and I will wait until the ranking events come.

That looks like a terrific nation to live in. Kick-ass flag, some rivers, a delta... Those mountains Snel a bit, though.

I used to make drawings like that too. Except, I would make a world map and redraw the features in pen. Then I would use regular pencil to draw nation borders and cities. After that I would make wars between the nations and change the borders, making my own world with even a bit of history.

I felt identified with PIS history, specially with the nations things, I usually took my school textbooks at the end of the year, I grab a pen and then I found a world map without borders, then I start drawing and if I don't like, I erase that and started again, usually created some flags or just imagined their ethnicity and then named the main cities (Around 40) and then I took my PES videogame and then created the national teams for that nations, and that's how started my passion for virtual or fictionaire national teams and tournaments, something that made me arrive here in NS Sport and play it for real.

EDIT: This nation name was inspired in one of these fictionaire nations, the little one in terms of population and territory (Just 42 kms2) but my special one.

Wow. And I thought I was passionate.

I really didn't know this many people are 'map artists' but that brought me here. Maybe.

EDIT: And Polar, very nice handwriting!

Bro, I can relate to this.

The only reason I got into NS in the first place is because I had a map of made up nations and I wanted to run of those fake nations with a "realistic nation simulator".

I didn't get a realistic nation simulator part but I certainly got a nationstate. :p

Well crap, apparently a bunch of other people can relate to this too...

I too once had a country located in my mind (err, the Caribbean I mean...), was President and everything (at the age of six no less). Was planning on using that nation as my nation for NS, but someone got to the nation name before me. I've still got the maps and list of cities (in fact, many of those cities live on as the major cities of Darmen) and everything. That was along time ago though... and Darmen has kind of taken over the Westlands, err, I meant my mind. I swear Valladares.

World Cup-winning RP finally up:

viewtopic.php?p=21821522#p21821522

Both the delay in writing the RP and my total silence in the Eagle's Cup are written into the RP (I've apologised to Vil by TG for my RL-associated inability to participate in the latter; here's hoping I don't actually win).

I leave for Mount Athos in about 2 hours, so this is the last you'll hear from me for a week.

Don't do anything I wouldn't do while I'm away; I've asked your Aunties and Uncles in the rest of the mod team to look in on you every now and then to make sure you behave while I'm away.

No Facebook parties, please - and try not to burn the forum down.

I never did any nation-building or map-making or anything like that when I was a kid, but so, so many trees died to fuel my felt-tip kit-making ambitions.

I imagine they've all long been thrown away or lost in various moves. I'm now curious as to what they looked like, though.

I also wasn't primarily a map maker, but I found sketches of conlangs from when I was 11 or 12 years old. Very Latin-based, and I can't say I improved much over the years, but that's where it started for me. I'll have to check if I still have those sketches somewhere...

Those are really good, especially the kit.

I remember when I was like 8 or 9, my entire class spent break times making and colouring in giant combinable maps. Something like 50 or so A4 sheets of paper full of islands and whatnot. It never got finished, but boy was it good.

We did that. I loved map making, both at school and on my own. I think it's a requirement to be on NS that you made up countries and maps and cultures. This was our destiny.

EDIT: Oops! Wrong account. This is Neu Engollon, btw. Not that it matters in the OOC.
