Ancharmunn and Yesopalitha bid for the hosting of the 52nd Cup of Harmony
Who?
Ancharmunn – The user behind Ancharmunn has participated in NS Sports since World Cup 36 back in 2007. Though Ancharmunn is a new nation, the user until recently participated as Sorthern Northland. Sorthern Northland/Ancharmunn has hosted a number of events over the years including World Cup 56, AOCAF Cup 32, Rugby League World Cups 1 & 5, Rugby World Cup 13, a Campeonato Rushmori Juvenil Sub-17, the six stage Rás na Inis na Dún cycling race, two tournaments within the International Tennis Association as well as a number of small events in minor sports such as Gaelic Football. As Sorthern Northland the user recently completed a term as the inaugural head of the NationStates Rugby Board.
Yesopalitha – Yesopalitha is a more recent comer to the NS Sports scene having made their football début at the 45th Baptism of Fire. In the short time since they have gone on to become a respected addition and have hosted the 46th Baptism of Fire as well as the 18th World Cup of Hockey, the 3rd Ultimate Cup and a Campeonato Rushmori Juvenil Sub-20. In addition to these tournaments the user also runs the IUBC (a basketball tournament similar to the UICA tournaments) and a domestic football league over three accounts (Yesopalitha, Falconear & Falconfar) in excess of 200 teams.
Scorination?
The latest version of xkoranate will be used, with the SQIS formula and style modifiers ranging from -5 to +5 to be utilised.
RP bonus?
As the CoH is a tournament designed to reward roleplayers we will look to reward those who actively participate by giving a high prominence to the effect of RP bonus. A high percentage will be given to the 'effect of bonus' option and the 'absolute' formula will be used.
Format?
We would look to host the tournament in a format replicating that of the World Cup finals. That is a 32 team tournament beginning with a group stage containing eight groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages. If possible we will attempt to run the Cup of Harmony alongside the World Cup finals, though the Cup of Harmony final will be held a day before the World Cup final so that the World Cup final may be the final and showpeice match of the WCC tournament cycle.
Who'll be invited?
To be considered for an invitation to the tournament a nation will need to post a roster, and show consistency in quality and frequency of RP during World Cup qualifiers. We will consult between ourselves towards the end of World Cup qualifying to determine which nations have earned an invitation.
