Coach: Terry Fenords
Assistant Coach: Carson Lemach
Team Medic: Jason De vach.

Starting V:

GK: Noah Gooper
Backup for a few years before breaking out in the Hossaim Beach Soocer League then leading Hossaim to it's 2nd Beach Cup at Beach Cup IV. He has great handling and is very good at shot stopping. Age 29

DF: Carl Bisohp
Hossaim's solid backliner. Good luck getting past him, his hard tackling and determination have cost Hossaim a few fouls, but the fact that he usually get's the ball is worth it. This may be one of his final tournaments, at age 31.

DF: Sean Embed
A skilled backline. He has a great pass, being able to pick players out from amazing distances and angles with great accuracy. His shot has improved dramatically. He is still young at age 27.

FW: Jerry Renalds
Hossaim's top scorer. He has great speed and acrobatic skills, allowing him to plot the ball away from anywhere. He has aged tough, and is not as agile as he once was. He is now aged 32.
e
FW: Andrew Peralton
While Peralton is not very fast, his main value comes in his ball skills. He is a great passer, and can keep the ball in the air to hit the most beautiful chips and flicks. his control is second to none, and he is very tall alowing him the pulck the ball everywhere with his head, it being a powerfull shot or a delightfull chip. He is 30.

Team Sarrbia: Beach Cup VI Roster and Information

Because Sarrbia is an archipelago with a plentiful supply of beaches, beach soccer is equal in popularity to association football here. The sport is rooted firmly in Sarrbian culture. The top athletes from Sarrbia's beach soccer league were elected by fans to represent the nation at the 5th Beach Cup here in Sarrbia.

The Sarrbians hosted the 2nd Beach Cup and placed 2nd, but a disappointing Beach Cup 3 dipped our ranking to 4th place, where it has remained since then - behind Hossaim, Kazzoria and Delaclava. After Beach Cup 3, former Manager Mikhael Sarmon was demoted and replaced by former Beach Soccer legend Holt Lavine. Lavine's lukewarm success in Beach Cup 4 allowed him to keep the job for Beach Cup 5 - but he remains on the hot seat after Sarrbia failed to win despite hosting the event last year. Additionally, long-time Team Sarrbia staple at defenceman Milo Wykti (43) is now a coach at the Defenceman position.

Those within the organization are very hopeful that Beach Cup V could see Sarrbia's return to prominence. The team is still comprised of many players from their glorious Beach Cup 2 run. Although being in a group with powerful teams such as Vulshain, Spitfyred1, Carmadin and Thatius will not be easy, Sarrbia does have a solid chance at reclaiming beach soccer glory. Please note that the Sarrbian squad is mixed male and female. You can find more information on the team below.

Basic Information

Manager: Holt Lavine
Assistant Manager: Mikhael Sarmon
Based in: Wypuli, Sarrbia
Colors: Pink, White, Gold
Species/Gender: Human, Mixed Gender

Formation

-----------------------Mallakos----------------------
----------Draughns--------------Nubarre-------------
--------------McSanders--Thompson--------------

Starting 5:

GK - Kyle Mallakos
Mallakos is an extraordinary 32 year old goalie from Wypuli, Sarrbia. He is tall and boasts excellent coordination and judgement skills. He is a long-time member of Team Sarrbia.
DF - Penelope Draughns
Draughns is a young beach soccer phenomenon from Sapphire Springs, Sarrbia. She is but 25 years old, yet is heralded as the poster-girl for Sarrbia's stout defense.
DF - Elvis Nubarre
Nubarre was the replacement for all-star defender Milo Wykti in Beach Cup 4. Now entering his third year on the team, at 30, he has plenty of experience and is a very balanced player with no true weakness.
FW - Lee McSanders
McSanders has established himself as one of the best scorers in all of Sarrbia. The 29 year old can knock in a goal from anywhere on the pitch.
FW - Charlotte Thompson
Thompson (26) is the best beach soccer player Sarrbia has ever produced. She has incredible speed, strength and ball skills, and will dominate games single-handedly. With her, Sarrbia's campaign in Beach Cup VI looks very bright.

Subs:

GK - Rupert Burton (28)
DF - Rumina Kavinaj (18)
DF - Julia Verdiene (31)
FW - Iggy Saldamari (27)
FW - Sasha Ramone (24)

HAWK SPORTS news studio before broadcast

Hello, hello, hello sport fans!!! Today in the studio it's me, Stephan Minskiy, with my colleague, Natalie Solovyeva. You know what they say, it's the rookie's luck, well that's exactly what happened today in the Tim City Beach Soccer Stadium, Darmen, where our national beach soccer team for the first time played in the Beach Cup competition. Those who didn't get to watch it live here's some highlights of the game.
*Screen showing highlights and reporter talking*
"Today was a nice sunny day as our Hawks took on Trimoriia in the Match Day 1 of the group stage. The match started out slowly from both sides, but just coming to the end of period one at 10:31, our starting forward of the team, Nikolay Pavlov, scored after a big mistake from the Trimoriia's defending side. One of the defenders passed the ball with poor timing and strength which resulted in an easy interception by Nikolay who reacted quickly to lift the ball off the sand and shoot, the ball hitting nothing but the net.

ImageImage

Trimoriia tied up by scoring a goal of their own in the mid-2nd period. Trimoriia's defender shot blindly, but pretty accurately at the goal just to see it bounce of Alekoslav's goal post and under the vicious foot of Trimoriia's forward who didn't hesitate and lifted the ball up with a soft bounce and took a shot at the goal. 1-1 score is tied. The rest of the period both of the teams battled it out hard, but no luck yet. In the final period, the game was all really back and forth with forwards taking countless, but not so accurate shots at the goal. Our goalkeeper, Maxim Reznik, was standing on his toes the entire period trying to not let his team down. At about 8 minutes in the period, our players really got together not even giving Trimoriia an open shot - Forward always on alert, Midfielder going back and forth blocking every opponent he saw might bring a threat to the goal and chasing the ball like a cat after a mouse, and defenders viciously and strategically defending the goal as if it were a castle. As a result, their hard work paid off when at 9:13, our forward, Nikolay Pavlov, lifted the ball high and let his teammate, midfielder Dmitriy Zaycev, captain of the team, to take the shot he was waiting to take, a curved, really accurate bicycle kick...straight in the top, left corner. 2-1.

The last 3 and a half minutes of the game Trimoriia tried their best to at least tie up, but with the help of our midfielder switching to defense and forward stealing the balls at the front line, Trimoriia had a hard time. The final whistle blew, 2-1, Alekoslav won putting us in the 2nd place of Group A, just behind BIoodbath Generation who won today's game 13-9 against Sambela. Back to you Serge."

After a 4-0 victory against Thatius, people in Gijriokastra and Bethlehem took to the streets, celebrating their victory. Their first win against Thatius, was definitely encouraging to not just the National Team of the Christian Republic, but the entire Luziycan populace. Despite their different roots, Arazei, Swede, Khusevareti, Iglesian, Luziycan and Hipponian, there was one thing that united them. Two actually. The most important was God. However, the second part that keeps Luziyca together was football.

Yes, we mean association football, not Arazei football (American football). Throughout the Christian Republic, TVs shown the match, and many were proud.

We even got a reporter to interview the Captain of the national team.

The reporter then said, "Hello. I am Jennifer Hastings, and I am interviewing Diana Neijmeijer."

"Hello, Jennifer."

"So, what do you like about taking part in the Beach Cup VI?"

"We entered it, to spread freedom, liberty and democracy in the world of sport. Our Hippostanian brothers are following us, and we hope to promote the sport, as well as liberty and democracy. It is important not to let a communist win. As for what I love about taking part, it is the chances. The risks and the thrills. Really, how can I say no?"

"Diana, what was your initial reaction to joining the team?"

"When I was chosen, I was shocked. At the time, I was not so good," and she chuckled. "I come from Arazei, where we call beach football, well, beach soccer. So, yeah, us Arazei folk, we were not good, but I was lucky to join the team. I hope, to win this cup, and then call it a day. We are here to win, not to kowtow to communists."

"Thank you, and have a good game tomorrow."

"You too, Jenny."

Matchday Two comes to a close, and again, the Christian Republic of Luziyca won against its opponent on Luziycan turf, Magadia, at 4-1, at the National Stadium of Gijirokastra in Gijirokastra, the largest city in Luziyca. The match was shown live on LRT2, and upon winning, throughout the nation, the white, green and blue tricolor flutters at each football stadium (soccer in Arazei), encouraging identity and prosperity.

As the National Team wins its second match, Coffee personally paid a visit to the National Stadium of Gijirokastra, with her waving the hoof to the national teams of Luziyca and Magadia, wishing them a good game, prior to the match. Now, with this victory, the Luziycan National Team felt confident, and that in the opinion poll by Bethlehem Times, over 96% of respondents believed that the Christian Republic will win the cup, and possibly the right to host. Some international viewers, especially from Hippostania also have seen the match and in the Hipponian Republic within Luziyca, they stated they support Luziyca and wish for Hippostania to take part in matches such as this.

Now, as Matchday Three begins, many Luziycans know that their team will win the match once more, and hope to succeed. Could they win, or shall they lose?

Hossaim's Slow Start
By steven mckaiy

Two matches into the tournament, it is fair to say Hossaim fans have a right to be mad. An embarrassing 2-1 defeat to 63rd ranked followed up by an unconvincing 1-0 over unranked Sambela has left the nation wondering where the team that has finished in the top 4 5 times in a row, with 2 victories, has gone, and when they will be making a return.

In the first match, Hossaim started off well enough, with Jerry Renalds scoring a well placed volley into the bottom corner, however they began to lose their grip on the match as it progressed. Peralton's passes where nowhere to be seen, and Embed couldn't get the ball out of his own half, while Bishop and Gooper were busy trying to keep Polkopia from scoring. Renalds looked a shadow of his former self. Eventually, in the 3rd period the defense fell as Polkopia scored twice, both bicycle kicks, to put Hossaim, who never really made a final push, away.

In the 2nd match, Hossaim's complete lack of offensive production almost cost them again. At least this time they were dominant, however an uncharacteristically bad touch around the opponents net kept undoing good build up play. Peralton's passes weren't finding their marks, and Renalds speed has clearly decreased, as he can is being outran by defenders. The goal finally arrived in the final period, Pearalton heading home after Renalds shot took a fortunate flick off a defender.

If Renalds has finally gotten old, Hossaim fans will have to wonder what they will do for Goals without him. Some are even suggesting a total rebuild and bringing in more young players. If Hossaim don't do well in this tournament, the HBSA may have to answer their pleas.

Beach Cup Team

It looks like the smaller brother of the World Cup which is going on, but with different countries, different hosts and in essence a different sport whatsoever. Ko-oren has decided to play in the cup again, after a few not-so-fruitless attempts. The team has never come close to a final spot, but it's not doing too bad, especially considering the national football team, which is doing not so very well.

The same goes for the Beach Team, however. Three matches underway, and the Greenblues have got 0 points so far. Although scores of Ko-oren and the opponents are generally not so far apart, Ko-oren is on a solid losing streak, last place in the group. There is something that needs to be done to turn this around.

The Ko-oren Football Association has announced that it will coordinate the newly created National Conference: the national league for football's club teams in Ko-oren. Many players on the Beach Cup Team play for sides that will eventually be invited to the NC, so this new information should spark some new inspiration with the team. Here is the team:

GK: Erik Halmen. Veteran player who used to be part of the Ko-oren national team. Has been playing on a slightly lower level since, but loves to be on the beach team.
D: Tarou Katou. Quit football a few years ago to concentrate on coaching youth teams and scouting for talent. Always has had a love for Beach soccer.
D: Franc Poudrier. Young, talented defender that will probably be in the newly created NC. Although a bit inconsiderate, usually does the good thing on the pitch.
M: Fabio Alves. Experienced Beach Soccer player: has been part of Ko-oren's previous Beach Teams. Solid midfielder with a slight preference for defending.
M: Dirk Koenen. Offensive counterpart of Fabio Alves: has not been part of the Beach Team so far, but plays a lot in summers on Ko-orens beaches.
S: Rick Kleve. Veteran Ko-oren Football striker. Not a record holder, but a very decent striker. Not very experienced on the sand, but learns fast.

At the end of the third matchday against Sarrbia, the Christian Republic of Luziyca won, 5-3, on Sarrbian soil. Now, beach football is getting popular, within Luziyca, in some school districts, making beach football a compulsory part of the curriculum for Phys. Ed. Already, the National Beach Football Team was becoming well known throughout the country. However, we sent a journalist to interview the Vice-Captain. Little does anyone know except in Novelle Waverley, is that he is a priest.

"Good evening. I am Johan Smith, reporter for Luziycan Radio y Televisiya. How are you?"

The response came by Mehri, "I am fine. And how are you?"

"I am doing quite fine, thank you for asking. So, what got you into this sport?"

"A few years back, when I was studying to be a priest, some of my friends at the monastery asked me if I wanted to play beach football. I thought that it was quite similar to football, and I said 'Yes.' I actually played against another group of friends, and my team won. Thus, that was why I was chosen, oddly enough."

"This was really interesting. About our record, how do you feel?"

"In my humble opinion, I believe that God and Jesus Christ blessed the National Team of Luziyca, before we even left. Indeed, I was the one that sprinkled holy water on every player, including myself, and by God, he is granting our desires. He is allowing our team to win, and I am quite happy that he is allowing us to do so. Not a day goes by without prayers that we will win the next game. If God keeps granting our prayers to win, WE WILL WIN THE CUP!"

"So, are you a devout Lutheran?"

"Actually, yes, I am. I am a Lutheran priest, at a church in the Old Town of Novelle Acadie, formerly known as Ajorvuten."

"Any comments?"

"Nope."

"I will hope to interview you again, as soon as I could."

"Thank you."

"You are welcome, your Holiness. From Johan Smith, LRT2, Darmen."
