Scores Thread

Right, with regional competitions and the DBC winding down, let's get the WC-juggernaut rolling again.
I trust you all know what goes in here - let's get posting your team lists, as well as any other information about your players/team/manager/kit/nation that may be important for your fellow RPers.

For the purpose of aiding your fellow competitors, please include your RP Permissions so they know what they can and cannot start talking about with reference to the matches and your nation:
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players: Y/N

And don't forget your style modifiers! Anything between +5 and -5 please.
+5 is the most attacking, bombarding your opposition but being haphazard and open at the back. And -5 is the most defensive, shutting up shop in front of your own goal and leaving the attacking for the most opportune moments only. Or obviously, the full scale in between. It's up to you.

The Karditan Robber Barons, as shown by its name, is a team of crooks. Soccer is illegal in Karditan and very few Kards have even heard of the World Cup. The only real practitioners of the "sport" (blech) are criminals already on the lam, and it's mostly used as a way to gain underground connections as well as a way to bring together like-minded people (and some ponies. The occasion goat, as well.) The work of Silveen Eleco (see below) brought this team together and will take them out onto the international stage; they are banking on the extreme ignorance of soccer in Karditan to keep this undertaking under wraps domestically.

Starting 11:

GK- Emanuel Portico. One of the most successful petty thieves in all of Karditan, he is incredibly agile and specializes in predicting the movements of adversaries. This helps tremendously in stopping shots, espicially PKs.

DL- Left Wing. A Pegasus hitman who's wanted on several charges of vandalism and arson, suspected of using small tornados and lightning to destroy the rival businesses of his clients.

DLC- Dorian Berard. One of Wing's clients, Berard runs Hardcore Cola, Karditan's leading soda distributor (at least since Popsi Cola's headquarters mysteriously burned down.)

DRC- Carnac Carson. The biggest personality in Karditinian crime, Carnac is the guy you go to when you need a hookup. Everyone who is anyone has grabbed a beer with him at one point or another.

DR- Ivory Hilt. A freedom fighter from Vashameer, a county on the disputed border between Karditan and the semi-autonomous state of Ibex, he's actually most famous as the finest goat model; his horns are nothing short of magnificent. However, his fame hasn't stopped him from personally leading the resistance movement to officially sever Ibex from Karditan and take Vashameer with it.

ML- Pierre Le'viore. Runs the largest brothel in Sinsinatti, which isn't illegal by itself, but also traffics incredible amounts of 'hard stuff' below the floorboards. Considering Karditan is pretty lax when it comes to drugs, that's saying something.

MC- Gordan Blaire. A disgraced politician who commited the ultimate sin; accepted bribes from foreign countries. Karditinian officials are only supposed to take bribes from domestic corporations and local interest groups. He was governor of Fillydelphia for seven years before the scandal broke.

MR- Sweet Swing. The one member of the Robber Barons who isn't actually a criminal, Swing is the daughter of famous Karditinian golfer Tyre McIron. She has some suspicions about her teammates, but doesn't have enough proof to draw any conclusions.

FL- Billy the Kid. A young ibex who has been terrorizing the loosely-settled western territories of Karditan. He's been running around with a six-shooter robbing everypony blind, and he's taking a break to compete with the Robber Barons as all of his usual targets have smartened up, hiring more guards and installing bulletproof glass.

FC- Silveen Eleco. The Man in Karditan. He runs Eleco Industries, Karditan's largest electronics company. He inherited the moderately-sized business from his father, Sylvester, and grew it to enoromous proportions with brilliant economics and some underhanded business practices. He organized the Robber Barons and put together their entry into the World Cup and Baptism of Fire.

FR- Korzado. One of the few Zebras in Karditan, Korzado runs the Illineigh Mafia. His influence can be found in almost every succesful business venture in Illineigh, as well as many in Detrot and Sinsinatti. A legion of all types of creatures serve him, and he might be the only thing richer than Eleco in Karditan- but he doesn't flaunt his wealth like Eleco does. Almost all of it is re-invested, whether in businesses or bribes.

Manager- Sucker Punch. A unicorn who's special ability is illusions of the nefarious kind, Punch is a stragetic genius who plans to bring Karditan to the top. He runs the most successful corporate advertising/propaganda firm in Fillydelphia.

Subs:
(Mostly petty criminals, murderers, and Korzado's henchmen. No parenthesis following a name indicates humanity.)

GK- Kroze (Zebra)
D- Mark Cheez
D- Jack Howitzer
D- Pick Pocket (Unicorn)
D- John Bum
M- Lightning Heart (Buffalo)
M- Ron Ferret
M- Rain Out (Pegasus)
F- Mario Cansetta
F- Hired Hoof (Earth Pony)
F- Lawrence Arabia

Qazox' World Cup 59 Roster

Postby Qazox » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:50 pm

After a suprising run to the quarterfinals, Qazox returns all but 1 starter from 4 years ago (Derek Ranger retired due to legal issues), a rarity for the team. But with the deep run, the expectations have risen. Can this team finally go where no Qazoxian team has gone before, namely the Semifinals or beyond; or will they once again fall back into pretendership?

Returning Starters in bold.
Newcomers in italics.

Team Cosumar - World Cup 59

Basic Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar
Nickname: Dragons
Colors: Blue and White

Stadium: Leviathan Arena
Capacity: 99,114
Location: Kaldukosk, Cosumar
Image

Experience: This will be Cosumar's 9th World Cup. Cosumar has qualified and advanced past group stage for the past five World Cups (54-58), including trips to the Round of 16 in World Cups 56, 57 and 58. Cosumar is currently ranked in the top 16, but reached a peak of 11th during World Cup 57.

Ranking: #16

Team: The roster consists of 20 players, 17 of which are human. The remaining 3 are Vloo, a humanoid species native to Cosumar. This Cosumarite team features a mix of seasoned veterans and athletic young talents.

More About Vloo: Please note that the Vloo, though not human, have no considerable physical advantage over human players. Minor differences are that the Vloo are slightly taller on average and must wear different cleats due to their unique foot structure. Vloo are nearly equal to humans in terms of strength and speed, but have a blue taint to their skin and two small, dull horns on the top of their head. Most Vloo's horns are completely covered by their thick, black hair.

Formation: 4-2-4

The Starting XI

GK Tomi Koskinen (22)
Last year, Koskinen emerged as one of the best young stars in Cosumar. At only 20 years old, he dominated Cosumar's collegiate league by allowing only 0.4 goals per game. He has speedy reflexes like you've never seen before, and his skill set flawlessly carried over to professional football. He is poised to make it very difficult for even the best of opponents to score and could be a long-term starter for this team if he has a successful outing in this World Cup.

DF William Riley (32)
Riley came straight out of high school to play professional football 14 years ago and had no trouble playing with the cream of the crop. A decade later, Riley has emerged as the international face of Cosumarite football. He is without a doubt one of the most skilled defencemen the Fiefdom has ever produced. He is a tad undersized but makes up for it with unmatched speed, vision, and footwork. He has received offers from clubs in multiple international leagues, but has opted to stay in Cosumar. Riley is, at the moment, the most talented on the team at his position and will serve as Team Captain for this World Cup.

DF Alexander Pearce (25)
Pearce has been traveling with the Cosumar National Team since age 18. Pearce looks poised to become the next William Riley. Although he is young, he has rapidly matured in the last few years and he is just as skilled as anyone else on the team and has received much hype from Cosumarite media. Being a starter in this World Cup will be another valuable learning experience for Pearce as he looks to prove himself among the world's best.

DF Endyl Paru (27)
After a surprisingly impressive debut as a reserve in World Cup 58, Paru returns to the Dragons' for World Cup 59, this time as a starter. Paru is an intimidating figure at nearly 6"4, with some great moves and phenomenal endurance.

DF Gundar Umpton (28)
Umpton made his debut in World Cup 56 as a reserve, and saw increased playing time in World Cup 57. He was a shoe-in for the starting XI this time around after solid performances in World Cup 58. Umpton has finally developed into a mature and well-rounded player and is in his prime years. His biggest strenths are his powerful leg and good vision of the field.

MF Abel Scarloff (26)
Scarloff elected to immediately jump to professional soccer after high school and was a reserve on the WC57 team at a young age. He is highly skilled and has received much hype from international and domestic media - due to both his play in the Civil Citizenry domestic league (with Fox Zero) as well as his game-winning goal in WC57 finals. Scarloff is an excellent midfielder, but has the scoring abilities of a striker and scores many goals. The retirement of the legendary Irvinn Rincon has left a huge hole for Cosumar at the midfielder position - one that Scarloff will hopefully be able to fill.

MF Henry Kueler (30)
Henry Kueler is the little brother of Geoff Kueler, a hall-of-fame gaelic football player. Like his elder brother, Henry is gifted athletically. He has been an all-star midfielder in the FSF for three years running as a member of the successful OAS Royal FC. This is his second time to earn the starting role in a World Cup and should be a valuable asset due to his excellent passing and ball handling.

ST Addam Andsman-Savage (26)
Though his last name is peculiar, Andsman-Savage is a well-known around Cosumar as the captain of FC Samotath. Scoring goals is what he does, and he does it well. This will be his first time to don the Cosumarite colors, after his well-publicized failure to make the squad ladt year due to a supposed feud between him and Manager Farris Crowley. All bad blood has apparently been put aside, as Andsman-Savage rightly earned a spot in the Starting XI, though he may frequently sacrifice playing time to rising star reserve Sur Arora. Andman-Savage ruthlessly attacks the goal and has a very precise aim. The ball goes where he wants. His only downside is lack of speed, which Crisalus, Renault and Simmons have in spades.

ST Luke Crisalus (33)
Luke Crisalus is Cosumarite royalty, little brother of the Baroness of Crisalus Fief. He is also nephew of the Chiefess of Foreign Relations. His high-up government connections are not the reason he is on the team, however, as he was Cosumar's second leading scorer in World Cups 56-58. He is a crafty player and who excels in creating good shots for himself out of nothing. Although he often misses critical passes, his scoring ability is second to none but Varshney, with whom he makes a feared duo at the striker position.

ST Corey Simmons (29)
This will be Simmons' third World Cup (after an impressive World Cup 57 as a reserve). He has been Kaldukosk FC's leading scorer for 5 seasons and has quickly become one of the most feared strikers on the Cosumarite squad. He has been criticized for being a detriment to the team's locker room atmosphere at times, but his lightning-quick speed and brute force are elite.

ST Francois Renault (24)
Renault elected to immediately jump to professional football after finishing high school, five years ago. He watched from the bench as a reserve in WC57, but has developed and matured as a player since then. Renault, like his cousin Giovanni Aldinne, is an extremely promising young prospect whom the coaches hope will be a vital part of Cosumar's future. World Cup 58 will be a chance for him to get a taste of the cream of the crop and further hone his skills as a starter.

The Reserves

GK Blinne Va'Tuaras (27)
Va'Tuaras is one of Cosumar's most iconic goalkeepers, his enromous frame, trademark mohawk hairstyle, and wild antics causing his fan favorite status. But underneath the flamboyance, Va'Taurus is a fine goalkeeper and has led Klyde FC to multiple Globe Cups. He has great instincts and is a tested backup in the event that young and inexperienced (albeit more talented) Koskinen breaks down. He is one of three Vloo members on the team.

DF Phillip O'Hair (26)
"Red-Head O'Hair", as he's known in Cosumar, has been a consistent defender in the FSF for a few years now and has been selected to the National Team for the second time. He lacks elite speed and agility, but has fantastic ball-handling skills, a catapult for a leg, and rarely makes mistakes. He will be a reliable backup useful when a pair of fresh legs are needed.

DF Tae Woo Miyori (23)
Miyori is another young star with a bright future in Cosumarite football. His best attribute is his speed. Miyori is currently the fastest player on the team. Riley has taken Miyori under his wing. Miyori will not play much, but this Cup will be a valuable learning experience for him. Riley and Umpton aren't getting any younger and Miyori will be a fitting replacement in a few years.

DF Kirum Mortonsson (18)
Young and dashing Mortonsson recently completed his first professional FSF season with the Zakhoro Aces. The the season was a disappointment for the club, Mortonsson was the sole trace of hope. His outstanding debut season earned him a big fat paycheck to sign with Ramusok United - and a spot on the National Team. He is supremely athletic and finds ways to make big plays when the team needs it the most. He can be hotheaded at times and make poor decisions.

MF Leland Burke (33)
Burke has been one of Cosumar's top midfielders for a long time. Although he has won many FSF titles with Mallox, playing on the National Team has always been a goal of his. Though nearing the end of his career, Burke will serve as a reserve in WC 59. Burke is incredibly experienced and always makes correct decisions, even under pressure. He will be a fantastic mentor to the team's young midfielders and provide that tough edge the Dragons need at the position. He may be 33, but he plays like he's 18.

MF Giovanni Aldinne (23)
Aldinne recently completed college, and debuted in the FSF last season with Real Azuris, nearly reaching the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Aldinne, like his cousin Francois Renault, is an extremely promising young prospect whom the coaches hope will be a vital part of Cosumar's future. World Cup 59 will be a chance for him to get a taste of the cream of the crop and further hone his skills. Coaches claimed that Aldinne could have been a starter this year, but elected to go with the experience of Kueler for that role instead. Needless to say, Aldinne will receive plenty of playing time nonetheless.

ST Sur Arora (20)
Arora currently plays collegiate football and has been recognized by scouts as having extreme amounts of star potential. He genuinely loves the game and has been described by coaches as being "one of the hardest workers they ever coached". He is so fluid in his motions, acceleration, and ball control that it's almost scary. Arora is already an elite talent and in a few years could be one of the best in the world. As of now though, he is inexperienced, lacks endurance and toughness, and is easily intimidated. He has big shoes to fill - this will be the team's first World Cup without all-time leading scorer Rikki Varshney.

ST Fobi Na'Leus (32)
Na'Leus, a Vloo, is the second of three non-humans on the team. He was a starter in the last World Cup, but has age has caught up with him a bit and he has returned to the ranks of the reserves to make room for the likes of Renault and Arora. Na'Leus has the athleticism and ball-handling skills to thrive in this role, but must strive to avoid the bone-headed decisions and poor awareness problems that were his downfall in the last World Cup.

ST Ejegefe Na'Safeh (19)
Ejegefe Na'Safeh (pronounced: Eh-hey-heff-eh, Nah-Soff-eh) is a young Vloo football phenomenon from the remote Na'Malsile Isles of Cosumar. Na'Leus serves as Na'Safeh's mentor, as Na'Safeh is a young talent that needs much guidance. Na'Safeh is inconsistent and erratic, at times magnificent and at times sloppy. He will not play much in this World Cup.

Coaching Staff and Team Captains

Manager: Farris Crowley

After a phenomenal debut as Manager in World Cup 54, and an even more impressive efforts in World Cups 56-58, Farris Crowley will return to lead the Dragons towards greatness in World Cup 59. Crowley was a somewhat successful player in Cosumar's domestic league many years ago and has since taken to coaching. His goal is absolute: win a World Cup. He is currently 53 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time.

Assistant Manager: Bernard Hotheryo

This is Hotheryo's second World Cup as Assistant Manager. He recently coached for Cosumar in the 34th AOCAF. Hotheryo has been a successful Manager for Cosumarite Sekundar Ligan club Pelethas United for 18 years. Hotheryo is 57 years old.

Team Captain: William Riley
Defenders' Captain: William Riley
Midfielders' Captain: Henry Kueler
Forwards' Captain: Luke Crisalus

Kit

Image

Cosumar's uniforms for World Cup 59, made for the team by Barrengeka Kits of Astograth. The uniform has been applauded by fans and the media, featuring Cosumar's national colors: silver and navy blue as well as the Cosumarite Azure Dragon, the symbol of Cosumar. The keeper's uniform is gold and green, the royal family's colors. They are the same kits the team used in World Cups 56-58.

OOC Stuff

I grant you full RP Permissions unless you intend to do some unusually crazy. In which case, just shoot me a telegram.
Cosumar is a Fiefdom which means Cosumar is comprised of 21 fiefs which are similar to provinces. Cosumar is a constitutional monarchy and believes whole-heartedly in rights of the people, protecting nature, and exploring space.

Homelands Our Team Roster  for World Cup 59
Style Modifier -3

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y (be realistic, no goalies scoring hat-tricks)
Godmod scoring events Y (go for it)
RP injuries to my players N (I would like to decide my own line up)
Godmod injuries to my players N (look above)
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y (not if the player has already been given a yellow card, as he would miss next match)
Hand out red cards to my players N (same as injuries)
Godmod other events Y (I will do this unless you say don't so you can do it too)

We will play a 4-3-3 formation as this creates a good all-round performance from our players.

Sakaino University Athletic Conference Forms 2X98 - B, C, E, F, Q, W:

General Information
The Kiryu-shi National Football Team is administrated by the Sakaino University Athletic Committee, a leading group in the movement to bring back competitive team sports to Kiryu-shi after a decades long hiatus. It will have been 25 World Cups, 100 years, since Kiryu-shi first fielded a team for World Cup Qualifications. During World Cups 34-37, Kiryu-shi had a reputation for overshooting expectations, from a perfect record and a championship in the pre-WC 34 Baptism of Fire, as well as a second and third place finish in consecutive Cups of Harmony before qualifying to World Cup 37. In their 84 games during that stretch, the national team accumulated a record of 47 wins, 17 draws, and 20 losses, all while never ranking in the top 32.

Following the relative success in the 37th World Cup, their was optimism about creating a dynastic team to represent Kiryu-shi, as young talent was flourishing in the collegiate scene. However, religious authoritarians took over the government. This meant that over the next few years, football games were prohibited from being broadcast on Kiryu-shi television, and within twenty years, all Kiryu-shi competitive athletics were banned for being too provocative and stimulating.

However, these laws have slowly been reformed under the previous two decades, with the creation of youth athletic leagues 15 years ago, amateur regional teams 10 years ago, and a full university football system instated three years ago. The national team thus consists of the first generation of players in the post-football prohibition age. Kiryu-shi was able to sponsor a team to go to the DiBridani Cup, which, although unsuccessful, signaled the beginnings of an international football movement. Sakaino University has been at the forefront of the reform movement, and thus, the Sakaini University Athletic Conference is proud to announce the official return of the Kiryu-shi National Football team to World Cup play.

World Cup 59 Coaching Staff
Head Coach
Marja Mayberry
Age: 51
Bio: Grand-daughter of esteemed Kiryu-shi legend Pat Mayberry, Marja Mayberry was taught the sport by her father during the country-wide ban on sports, and remains one of the only people in the entire nation with the credentials to lead anything related to football. Although she was successful in the sea-weed collection industry for decades, she was also a leading advocate for the reforms that allowed Kiryu-shi to build a football program, pressuring legislators to institute youth and university leagues throughout the country. Following her success, Mayberry has retired from her previous job to lead the national team.

Assistant Coach
Boaz Crow
Age: 45
Bio: Like Mayberry, Boaz Crow is the grandchild of a former national team member, goalkeeper Jon Crow. Although the younger Crow doesn’t have the same experience as Mayberry does, he has proven himself to be a good motivator and trainer of young players, particularly defenders. A teacher before he was hired to become the assistant coach of the national team, Crow may struggle under the scrutiny of an entire nation. However, his enthusiasm and passion for teaching makes him popular among the squad itself.

World Cup 59 Official Roster
GK
Kohei Yasumu (#1)
Age: 21
Sakaino University
Bio: Yasumu is best known on the team for his quiet demeanor, which can be variously described as soothing, calm, boring, and lackadaisical. Although difficult to tell if he ever cares enough about his team to reliably try for any shots where he has to leave his feet, he has tremendous reflexes, according to the nation’s most reliable evaluators. In collegiate play, he has yet to lose a match for the powerhouse Sakaino squad, but wasn’t all that successful in the DiBradini Cup, where some felt his lack of enthusiasm contributed to Kiryu-shi not advancing past the group stage. There are those who call his inclusion to the starting squad a obvious ploy for favoritism, an homage to Sakaino’s prestige, but truth be told, there is simply a severe dearth of goal-keeping talent in the country.

DF
Patrick Yu (#15)
Age: 19
Umeda University
Bio: The left center back for the starting squad, Yu has a reputation for a certain wistful tackling quality; a tendency to create the impression that he is always reaching for something that he cannot quite manage to attain. Many ascribe this reputation to his lack of willingness to dirty any part of his uniform, lending a certain otherworldly quality to his presence on the otherwise aggressive Umeda University squad. Also, he has a peculiarly large head.

Olive Ferguson (#5)
Age: 21
Aioi University
Bio: Ferguson derives tremendous pleasure from her position as the assertive center back for the national team. Her role as the captain, bolstered by her height and her willingness to intimidate other players into voting for her, comes as no surprise, as she is by far the most vocal person on the practice pitch at any given time. While she is earning dual degrees in astrophysics and late medieval pacific poetry, her goal in life is to develop an effective way to break opposing toes without being caught, a skill which has just eluded her thus far, as evidenced by her 14 cards in 33 matches over two seasons for Aioi University. She managed to keep a clean slate throughout the DiBradini Cup, but has vowed to be more aggressive during the World Cup qualifications

Rebecca Hamilton (#4)
Age: 19
Sakaino University
Bio: Hamilton has remained one of the more elusive members of the team, not being particularly social and regularly falling asleep on the grass between drills. While her passion for the sport itself is unrivaled, her passion for winning is muted by her general apathy for competition. Hamilton views sport as a means of self-perfection, and while she is possibly the most technically skilled person in the starting eleven, her inability to materialize aggression in any form hurts her overall effectiveness as a defender. Her strength on the field comes from a refined ability to take a ball away from an opposing dribbler one on one, but basic concepts of teamwork continue to elude and bewilder her.

Kenta Takenomi (#17)
Age: 18
Aioi University
Bio: Takenomi is a fine, upstanding young man with many virtues affiliated with likeminded fine, upstanding young men. He has a tendency to get degenerately inebriated multiple times a week, but always keeps up a firm mantra and appearance. He indubitably has the firmest handshake of anyone on the Kiryu-shi side, with broad shoulders and a deceptively inadequate work ethic, which he earns an adequate but not excessive amount of praise for. He shows true qualities, like hustle, grit, effort, and overall manliness, but never manages to quite shine brightly, except for when he smiles, which he does in appropriate situations. While he is generally disrespected by his teammates, his coaches love him, and he has earned a place on the starting squad through an impressive combination of looking the right part and playing hard. His style of play is actually very complementary with Olive Ferguson, as they command one of the toughest defenses in the University scene.

Charles Meer (#8)
Age:19
Kasakake University
Bio: A literary type from a more academic university, Meer provides an offensive spark from the back line, combining derogatory insults with a fleet-footed desperation. His ability to yell names at opposing players as he runs past him has endeared him to opposing fans, who often celebrate his eloquence with sharp projectiles thrown in the vicinity of his face. He strikes an imposing figure on the pitch as well, one of the tallest members of the squad, with a classically pencil-like build. He has a small, cultish swarm of devoted followers who create and collect altered images of his imposing nose around visual blogs online.

MF
Will Feingold (#2)
Age: 17
Umeda University
Bio: Feingold, who serves as the defensive midfielder for the Kiryu-shi squad, is the most reliable performer for the team. Although he’s young, and not as physically developed as some of the older players, he has the form and talent to be the grounding force in the midfield for years to come. Although his youthful exuberance sometimes manifests when he’s caught daydreaming on the pitch, Feingold is the brightest potential star on the team, and is being given an opportunity to prove himself as a part of the starting 11. Feingold’s best football quality is his speed and agility, as he can effortlessly cover ground from side to side. His cheery disposition annoys virtually everyone who spends more than ten minutes with him, as his teammates frequently are forced to do.

Bob Libby (#10)
Age: 21
Sakuragi University
Bio: Libby transcends the football pitch in a way that no one else on the team can - he provides what little grace that the Kiryu-shi team can muster up, elegantly moving up the sides of the pitch with a ball close to his feet. His ability to visualize and break down opponents with his footwork, one on one, creates many opportunities for his university side, yet the moment he tries to place the ball anywhere more than three yards away from him, it usually ends in calamity. Earnest and competitive, there is nothing that he would like more than to be able to make shots on goal, and yet there is no skill on the pitch that he is worse at.

J.J. Erickson (#12)
Age: 21
Sakaino University
Bio: The assist leader of the nation over the past three years, Erickson shines when he is able to create opportunities for players. He is definitely not the most physically gifted player, a little short, a little pudgy, and more than a little slow, but he can dictate the pace of the match with his well timed, piercing passes. Erickson is particularly proud of his stat line, never letting anyone else take a free kick from the wings, or a corner, constantly looking for ways to pad his assist number. Although he is inordinately proud of his stature and ability, Erickson does play hard, so long as he looks good. The moment his myriad weaknesses are exposed, he tends to get moody and tackle-happy. Although he would never soberly admit it, Erickson has sustained a somewhat unhealthy adoration of his teammate Barnes since she joined the Sakaino squad, which tends to manifest itself on the pitch by over exaggerated attempts at yelling at referees when calls don’t go her way.

Lidia Barnes (#6)
Age: 19
Sakaino University
Bio: The recipient of Erickson’s relative generosity with the soccer ball, Barnes has destroyed the University league with her fine touch and intricate scoring sensibilities. The most sarcastic member of the starting eleven by a significant portion, Barnes enjoys mocking what she perceives to be the inane vapidity of the rest of her teammates, and subsequently tends to enjoy herself. With an exuberant appreciation for the finer foods in life, and an academic focus in anthropology, Barnes views international soccer as a vehicle to explore new cultures and eat new foods. On the pitch, she is not particularly fleet of foot, but is able to read defenses and patterns well enough to create goals. Her overall athleticism can create opportunities when she takes on defenders, and her understanding of tactics establishes her as one of the premier midfielders in Kiryu-shi.

FW
Samantha DeCastro (#11)
Age: 18
Amanuma University
Bio: DeCastro was one of the most contentious selections for the starting eleven, as she wasn’t even a starter for her University team until the end of the DiBradini Cup. Relatively inexperienced compared to many of the other players, what she lacks in ball handling skill, she makes up with her otherworldly balance, flexibility, and overall athleticism. The best pure athlete on the team, and completely ambidextrous, DeCastro has a tremendous awareness of her body and has displayed a tendency to score highly unusual goals, rarely shooting the ball so much as being in the right place at the right time with the right angle. After a limited amount of success in four games in the DiBradini Cup, where she scored just one of Kiryu-shi’s five goals, she has a lot of room to grow as a player. Gregarious and friendly, DeCastro doesn’t seem like the prototypical attacker, but she competes hard on the pitch, even if that means she tends to be offsides most of the time.

Kiryu-shi Official Stadium
All Kiryu-shi home games will be played at the Sakaino University Athletic Complex, and multi-faceted building housing all of Sakaino University sports. The football pitch is outdoors, near the center of campus, and seats just 5000 people. There are a number of trees lining the bleacher-style stands. There will be first-class accommodations provided for visiting teams and team officials in Sakaino University’s finest dorm, of which one entire wing has been converted to a hotel for the duration of World Cup qualifications.

As the entire nation of Kiryu-shi is technically within one single metropolitan area, visitors will be encouraged to take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the entire country during their visit. Sakaino University is located in the southern district of the city, and the campus is directly adjacent to the famous Kiryu River, one of the two major rivers that run through the populated area of the island nation. As Kiryu-shi hasn’t had any official visitors in several decades - the Kiryu-shi government will be making sure to provide top-quality care for any visitors affiliated with the World Cup Qualifications.

Included on the team and staff are 11 Unicorns, 10 Pegasai, 9 Earth Ponies, and 1 Dragon.

Unicorns possess the ability to move objects and achieve other objectives using magic. Generally, they are agile and able to dodge attacks more easily than other ponies, but are also not as strong physically as Pegasai or Earth Ponies. They are considerably more intelligent however, and can be very cunning when plotting scoring strategies.

Pegasai possess the unique ability to fly. However, as the Equestrian States’ Board of Sports acknowledges that this may give them an unfair advantage over humans and other land-bound species, the Pegasai on the team have agreed to use their wings to give them a slight advantage in jumping rather than the entirely airborne passes common among leagues in the Equestrian States. Pegasai are also extremely fast, as they can use their wings to go faster on the ground and in the air. Additionally, they are strong in the legs as a result of cloud-control employment and other related jobs. A common weakness is that Pegasai can sometimes be very aggressive and can take unnecessary risks at times.

Earth Ponies (or more commonly just referred to as Ponies) are extremely strong and fit physically. Some Earth Ponies are speed demons, others are strong kickers (as a result of applebucking), and still others are powerful defenders. Appleoosa FC is one of the finest teams in the Equestrian States, and is comprised manely of Earth Ponies. As athletes, Earth Ponies are great defenders and can muscle their way into species of greater size with ease. However, they are also stubborn at times, resulting in possibly wide-open players who were uncovered to begin with.

Finally, there is Spike Smith, the only Dragon and non-Pony on the team. He is currently a backup due to his very small size, but he can easily slip under other players and steal the ball from them.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Urchins' World Cup 59 Squad Released

Qichechumadia Zhabi - Big news out of KPFA headquarters in Dyurtyuli... the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu national team roster for World Cup 59 and World Cup 59 qualifying has been released. Big man Maksim Astafyev has decided to retool his outfit significantly since being eliminated in the Round of Sixteen and the Semifinals of the Cup of Harmony and the AOCAF respectively. The 4-4-2 is gone; instead, it'll be a 5-3-2 that the Urchins use for the qualifying stage of sport's greatest competition.

Though this would seem to be a bit of a cynical move, the use of highly aggressive wingbacks will actually make the Urchins a more positive outfit under these new tactics. Neutrals and devoted fans alike have eagerly applauded Astafyev's decision, as it will utilize Natasha Klossovskaya and Tykaraije Makureru in roles that truly suit them at last.

In terms of selections, the squad has changed significantly from its previous incarnation.

At goalkeeper, the critics' darling and sometime World Cup 58 hero Ignatiy Voropaev will assume the role of full starter at last. His recent spectacular form in the Šenapatiam'ajat Vahavi for his club, Raktaghav Hathi, have made it all but impossible for him to be denied a spot in the Urchins' starting XI. The previous starter, Iacomusam Gašughumi, has been asked to take a seat after allowing a few howlers in the Cup of Harmony and having a below-par year for Atlético Jutense in Cafundéu. While the veteran is still far from disposable thanks to his vast experience in the Urchins team, he will once again be watching from the sidelines. And rounding out the goalkeeping corps is Baltabek Ignatyev, who returns to the side after the better part of a decade left out. His experience of being relegated several seasons ago at Šede Island Shadows seems to have made him a more humble man, and he's more than earned his transfer to two-time defending First Division champions FKM.

Amongst the defenders, which make up a plurality of the side, Natasha Klossovskaya, the heartthrob of many a teenage boy and indeed adult man, is perhaps the most valuable player. As a right back, she's not to be trifled with, as opponents of FKM can attest to. Her amazing pace and terrific crossing ability have drawn comparisons to the now retired Pazhujeb Islands international Qabe Oujadda (of course the father of current star Fušia Oujadda), though obviously Klossovskaya is Kagdaz, not Pazhujebi. Aqhorassia Bhara maintains her captaincy as a favorite of Maksim Astafyev, the eternal Ryurik Mizirov maintains his place after a nice season with A.F.F. in Cafundéu, and Šidibruvu Dhivadha at last makes his way back into the team after helping Juvapanam spit in the eye of the Relegation Gods by finishing fourth. On the left wing, Tykaraije Makureru is chomping at the bit to take on opponents, given the new license he has to get forward (something he does much more frequently for his club, Vulkan, than he has in the past for the Urchins). In the reserves, Eitan Andropov returns to the fold, his physical prowess offering a more conservative right back option than Klossovskaya, Camran Linchuk, the highly rated Angels left back, makes his long-awaited debut, and Zhavivi Qathif'ajuju has metaphorically apologized to the nation for her absurdly stupid sending off during World Cup 58 qualifying by putting in a great performance for FKM the last two years. Finally, Gimnasia outsider Yuri Utepov has made it into the team, though he may struggle to earn caps.

The retirements of Aquillius Razava and Demyan Ilych have changed the shape of the K&P midfield, without a doubt, and have been perhaps the catalysts for Astafyev's formation change. The new regime sees no winged midfielders in the starting eleven; instead, a bank of three defensively-minded central midfielders will rest between the two adventurous wingbacks. Lazhthuthezha Jujazhedhi has at last been entrusted with a place in the first team (well deserved, if you believe the pundits) after helping Gimnasia to three straight top-two finishes in the league. Vsevolod Ogorodov, a player whose Cafundelense success somehow rivals Fušia Oujadda's, has established himself as a lock for selection in every Urchins team. And of course there's Eduard Winogradsky, undoubtedly the First Division's best player and a tremendous moral leader for the People's Club, FKM. Congratulations are in order, meanwhile, for Yuzhissa Aghimaqaj, as he's shaken off the history of successive World Cup Finals red cards and driven his Pythons outfit to a respectable fifth place in the Liga de Fuego. And guess what? Boris Turov is in the team! Boris Turov! Five bucks says you've never heard of him! Perhaps the most surprising name in the squad, the Yastrabi attacking midfielder will feel that he's at last been rewarded for his good efforts at his hometown club of Yastrabi. And last but not least, Pavel Vengerov, another player whose first Urchins cap is long overdue, will be a right-sided option from the bench for Maksim Astafyev.

As you may have guessed, that means Fušia Oujadda has once again changed positions. At this point, we assume she'll be changing every single time a new K&P squad is announced. But for now, she's back at striker, where she played for Petardos S/A last season, obtaining Player of the Year honors in the multiverse's most prestigious league. Essentially, she's the Urchins' best player by quite a distance, and is likely to be involved in nearly every goal her team scores. So that one was obvious. But wait! Who's playing next to her? She's such a short little player that any Federation manager is going to need to have somebody in a number nine shirt playing on the last defender's shoulder. A bit surprisingly (but not too surprisingly, since he was apparently good enough to be bought by SK Franz Josef City in the close season), Astafyev's picked Ouamchi Pudibhišu, a bit odd given that the lad wasn't fit for much of the 5254 season. But no matter. If Ouam-Ouam can't perform, First Division Golden Boot winner Patel Zev, of the unheralded club Kileh Gulabhav, is waiting in the wings to make his international debut. He's a bit old to be strolling into the national team at this point, but his form surely deserved a call-up, and he's got that. Chalia Sajid remains a strong option as well, though the problem with her is that she's no center forward... a very similar player to Oujadda, she is. And, to conclude, rounding out the strikers corps is Thavjiv Šeruthuvu, whose surprising move to Metropolitano of the Cafundelense league has both electrified and concerned observers... while he'll be an idol at his new club, surely it's a step down from Juvapanam?

Kits.
ImageImage

After several World Cup cycles sporting uniforms manufactured by a Cotdelapomais kit maker, the KPFA has signed a deal with the Pazhujebi sportswear company Hudhucharu Zurzhaq. News that a domestic manufacturer has taken over has pleased the more nationalistic fans of the side. The wisteria shirt, along with black shorts, is used for home matches; likewise, the white shirt, along with white shorts, is used for away matches. During neutral-venue tournaments, like the Cup of Harmony, the Urchins will alternate between the two kits. Rarely, the wisteria shirt may be used with white shorts or the white shirt may be used with black shorts, but these pairings will only occur when needing to resolve a color conflict with an opponent's strip.

Manager.
Image

After over four years in charge, it's over for Brutušam Erassi. His failures to qualify for World Cups 56 and 58 were considered disgraceful in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu, a nation that plays host to the ninth-best domestic football league on earth. Incoming is Maksim Astafyev, an Aypabirsk native who orchestrated the 5251 promotion of his hometown club Nekromanti before being brought to Urajbina for the 5252 season. In his two seasons there, he simplified the mess left behind by previous boss Ignacio Vélez with elementary tactics and an empowering player-first approach.

His partnership with Urajbina captain Aqhorassia Bhara was notoriously close (some in the media even intimating that their relationship was romantic, though this was never proven), and those ties are set to continue with the Urchins, as he's handed the tenacious little center back the national team armband. In general, sports historians have observed that Astafyev does tend to appreciate quick, mobile defenders who can play in multiple positions.

Astafyev, who recently turned forty, is the youngest Urchins manager of all time. Generally speaking, his greatest skill is man-management; knowing how to get players on side and keep a dressing room intact are high priorities in an Astafyev-coached team.

Style Modifier.

Formation.
While Erassi's all-out attack strategy is now gone (good look to the Sargossans with that), Astafyev's K&P will nonetheless stay positive. The oft-discussed 5-3-2 formation, which proved successful during World Cup 59 qualifying, and received near-universal critical acclaim, will remain in effect during the WC 59 finals.

Voropaev

Bhara Mizirov Dhivadha
Klossovskaya Makureru
Jujazhedhi Winogradsky Aghimaqaj

Oujadda Pudibhišu

However, the introduction of Yuzhissa Aghimaqaj to the starting eleven, in place of Vsevolod Ogorodov, has changed the shape of the squad somewhat, particularly in situations where the side is in need of a goal. Aghimaqaj, who is a left-sided, attack-minded player, will stay in front of Tykaraije Makureru, causing the Vulkan left back to drop off a bit. Natasha Klossovskaya, meanwhile, has the license to push forward into a fully midfield role. This causes the 5-3-2 to shift into Astafyev's old classic 4-4-2. Here is how that formation will look:

Voropaev

Bhara Mizirov Dhivadha Makureru

Klossovskaya Jujazhedhi Winogradsky Aghimaqaj

Oujadda Pudibhišu

Stadia.
FKM Arena - CMZ Metropolitan Area, Kagdazka - 69,000 seats - Club Tenants: FKM
The cities of Chadan, Murmansk, and Zanduznyy are often lumped together into one single metropolitan area, in no small part because of the towns' uniform support for the left-wing club FKM. This club believes that positive football is as much political as it is tactical; that attacking play is equivalent to the poor farmers quest for social justice and that cynical defending is equivalent to the evil businessman's lust for money. Seem like an oversimplification to you? Yeah... those FKM fans are a bit nuts, and you can tell when you visit their stadium, a veritable industrialist workers' temple, adorned with socialist slogans, chain-link fences, and the like.
Emuzhezh Stidiyama - Emuzhezh, Pazhujebu - 36,000 seats - Club Tenants: Raktaghav Hathi and Urnabhi
Recently remodeled, this clay and steel park rests in the middle of the medium-sized but isolated east-Pazhujebi town of Emuzhezh. It hosts one First Division match every weekend, as two Emuzhezh clubs are currently enjoying stays in the top flight: Raktaghav Hathi and Urnabhi. The two clubs have a long-standing rivalry, representing the conservative and liberal portions of the Emuzhezh population respectively. The stadium reflects this rivalry, with the seats on the south side of the stadium painted Urnabhi's white and pink, and the seats on the north side painted in Hathi's all red.

Information for the Foreign Mahathu Herald Reader

First of all, thanks for buying our paper! We're a rather small outfit as there are a couple of big Pazhujebi-language papers in Mahathu we have to compete with, so we appreciate the business. Secondly, you have probably gathered that Kagdazka and Pazhujebu have two very distinct identities, and you're right. There is a metric ton of information about the Federation available on the country's NSwiki page, including more on this team and on the country's domestic league. Please feel free to give it a read.

Generally, travelling supporters can expect a warm welcome (unless they are from New Montreal States). Football fans in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu are extremely cosmopolitan and knowledgable (having a very successful, internationally-exposed domestic league will do that to you). Hotel stays will be inexpensive, tickets to matches should be readily available (until they sell out, of course), and local delicacies are tasty. One caveat, though... cars are illegal in the Federation. All visitors will be expected to get around the way the locals do: on the monorail. The fee is steep, especially if you plan on making any really long trips, but it's the only option you have... aside from walking, I guess.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: No
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod Other Events: Yes

Drifting casually but seamlessly into OOC mode, if you are wondering which players to select as scorers, please feel free to pick whoever you want. (Please read the IC stuff above, though. If you're too lazy to go over it then you're a horrible person.) Roughly speaking, Oujadda and Pudibhišu will score slightly more goals than the other players, but only marginally more. Total Football, as we call it in RL, is a mantra for the Urchins, so anybody might get down the pitch and knock one in.

Jeru FC Roster

"The Cannons"

Formation: 3-4-3
Style Modifier: +3

Coach: Karra Caroline Thunder

(Jeru FC WC57 and 58 coach)

She’s legally a member of one of the Bears’ clans but biologically human: Her father, our national team’s first manager, was adopted into the clan (and thus into the nation) shortly after he’d led the Belles not only to BoF victory but also to World Cup qualification at their first attempt, so she grew up in a strongly football-oriented background, and she’s also got experience as a deputy manager of the Belles (under Marra SunDaughter, not under her own father) under her belt…

Assistant Coach: Princess Shay Sasha Dallas (former Jeruselem WC player and Naked News Jeruselem reporter)

(Jeru FC WC58 assistant coach)

All girls are daughters of serving army personnel.

GK (F,18) - Rosie Cheeks - Prone to blushing a lot
GK (F,18) - Liddle Skank - Loves a good time without her clothes on

DEF (F,18) - Sofia Pascal - Her hero is Princess Sofia Michelle Dallas.
DEF (F,18) - Penny Game - Loves to take to naughty dares
DEF (F,18) - Reece Bath - Likes getting wet, alot.
DEF (F,18) - Allison Katson - AKA AllyKat. Likes Cats.
DEF (F,18) - Rachel Funk - Guitar hero champ
DEF (F,18) - Carrie Buds - Always seems to get caught without clothes on in funny places.

MID (F,18) - Bryci Cake - Resident flasher
MID (F,18) - Felicia Day - Looks a bit like actress Felicia Day
MID (F,18) - Jayden Jaffer - Resident bad tempered redhead.
MID (F,18) - Jennifer Avens - Talks too much to annoyance of others.
MID (F,18) - Sasha Saints - The dirtiest girl in the team but talent compared to Dazza herself.

STR (F,18) - Leigh Brighton - Likes to pick fights with other girls
STR (F,18) - Amy Brown - Trigger happy bitch
STR (F,18) - Ariel Luppins - A nude day at the beach surfing is the ideal day.

The Babbage Islands World Cup 59 Roster

Nicknames: Bumblebees, Islanders
Colours: Yellow and black

Manager: Manning Pelham (Civil Citizenry), record 12-1-2
Style: +3.00
Formation: 4-4-2, with flexibility to run the Babbage 4-6 or a 4-3-3

Entering the last World Cup, there were questions about the Bumblebees' impending decline. Turmoil in the federation offices and the unexplained failure of managerial negotiations cast a shadow over the team.

Today the picture is almost reversed. Another third-place finish will do that for you.

Manning Pelham is off to a scintillating start as manager with a tested corps of veteran players. His World Cup experiments have settled into a pattern, gradually moving from the 4-6-0 to a more traditional 4-4-2 but with flexibility to change the front end to numerous looks.

In the roster below, starred (*) players played in World Cup 58.

Keepers

Kaitlyn Miller* 22 K 26/1 SC Lasft (Cafundéu)
Gregorio Solís 26 K 1/0 Greenville Rovers

Miller appears to be settling in for a long run. Named the #2 goalkeeper in the top Cafundéu league in her first season there, she continues to delight the fans and impress the pundits. Solís was key in Rovers' title run in the first FĈB season and will be a solid backup.

Defenders

Sweepers
Nancy Svoboda* (c) 30 SW 90/0 Belgium FC
Ethan Powell* 28 SW 17/0 Greenville Rovers

Centre-backs
Saturnino Valle Barajas* 26 CB 40/2 Great Falls Cymru
Kaylee Nelson* 29 CB 12/0 Four Towers

Wing-backs
Katja Mira* 29 RB 58/5 Petardos S/A (Cafundéu)
Ciriaco Jurado Gracia 25 LB 1/0 UMFK

Joey Baldwin 19 LB 0/0 Far Point Islanders
Chloe Packer 27 RB 4/0 Viktoria Baden

Svoboda, the veteran Bumblebee captain, remains possibly the world's best sweeper. She is always on the alert for a possible counterattack and in many ways ignites the team's offence as much as any midfielder. Powell is surely gifted enough to start for most any other team. Should the left wingback situation remain unsettled don't be surprised to see Powell there.

Valle Barajas, Svoboda's vice-captain, is noted for a determined style of play. An affable gentleman off the pitch, he is a no-nonsense guardian of the centre in any match. Nelson still won't see much play time behind a player known by only one name.

Mira, a sweeper by early training, has become a deadly wing-back from necessity as Svoboda isn't about to yield her spot. Now playing for the world-renowned Petardos S/A, she has become one of the most recognised Bumblebees. The other wing will see Jurado and Baldwin battling for the starting spot, with Packer, Powell, and Nelson all candidates to switch positions if needed.

Midfielders

Central midfielders
Natalia Karven* 28 CM 55/14 Dunboor FC (Cafundéu)
Liang Zhengbing* 27 CM 30/3 Royal Khaldoon (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)

Wing midfielders
Dagrún Hallvarðsdóttir* 31 RM 55/42 Urajbina ZL (Kagdazka and Pazhujebu)
Sean White* 28 LM 14/1 Magnetas (Erikkesh)

Tristan St-Pierre* 30 LM 47/22 Brattleboro (Cassadaigua)
Gene Heath* 23 RM 13/2 Darmen City United (Darmen)

Attacking midfielders
Aubrey Dew* 25 AM 31/24 Athens Town (Civil Citizenry)
Joachim Erhardt* 22 AM 5/0 Viktoria Baden

A casual observer would assume that the greatest shakeup between World Cups is in the midfield, given Pelham's move to the 4-4-2. But all eight midfielders on this roster were also on the last one; only the roles have changed.

The biggest surprise is continuing to play Dew out of her natural striker position, now as the starting attacking midfielder with the surprise retirement of Claire van de Graaf. Erhardt will see playing time as he is groomed to lead the attack in the future; doubtless Dew will move to striker for much of that time.

Dagrún continues to strike fear into defenders' hearts from the left wing as one of the great goal-scorers. She'll be partnered with a rising White more often than a plateaued St-Pierre, and when she sits a mercurial Heath will step right in.

Karven and Liang should share out playing time in central midfield near-equally, both seeing reduced roles from their two-way responsibilities in the 4-6.

Forwards

Glen Svoboda* 32 ST 91/58 Dover City
Courtney Keisler 25 SS 0/0 Belgium FC

Bernd Kroymann 26 ST 5/1 Greenville Rovers
Jennifer Stevens 26 SS 11/8 Dover City
Ingi Einarsson 27 ST 2/0 Parisian

Glen Svoboda won his first cap at 14, debuting as a pure striker like his father. After many patient years in a system that had little room for pure strikers, Svoboda is now the biggest go-to option on a team loaded with firepower. The second striker will probably be Courtney Keisler. Yes, that Courtney Keisler, formerly scourge of the pitcher's mound for Newmanistan but now a Babbage citizen and a striker in the mold of her father and grandfather. Don't count out Kroymann, Stevens, Ingi, or even a spot appearance from Dew. This roster has been deliberately loaded with strikers with a view to development.

Ordinarily Dagrún Hallvarðsdóttir takes penalties, and Aubrey Dew takes corners and free kicks.
