WC58 Cup of Harmony Host Bid

I would like to offer this opportunity to present my CoH for WC58 bid. I would be hoping to share this bid opportunity with another nation who wishes to gain experience in hosting this competition as the co-host. I have previously hosted the Cup of Harmony with no co-host, however, with the number of nations involved in competition these days, I am proud to open my host bid up to a second nation. The nation of New Montreal States, a former host of the World Cup and Cup of Harmony, will also participate in this bid.

Vilitan Hosting Experience:

Cup of Harmony XIV
AOCAF II
Baptism of Fire Cup PXVI
Colony Cup 1.1
Baptism of Fire Cup PXVII
World Cup XVII
Baptism of Fire Cup PXVII
Baptism of Fire Cup PXIX

World Cup XIX
Baptism of Fire Cup PXX
AO Hockey Championships I
Baptism of Fire Cup PXXI
Baptism of Fire Cup PXXII

World Cup XXII
Nationstates Surf Tour
Baptism of Fire Cup PXXIII
Baptism of Fire Cup PXXIV
Baptism of Fire Cup PXXV

World Cup XXXI
Cup of Harmony XXVI
Nationstates Grand Prix II
AO Hockey Championships IV
Nationstates Grand Prix III
Nationstates Grand Prix IV

Scorination:
I will use the World Cup 31 Scorinator for this competition. XKORINATE is the alternative scorination system if any potential co-host is not familiar with the WC31 scorinator. This bid will not be using NSFS.

Criteria of inclusion:
32 Nations will be accepted. There will be no pre-announced "minimum criteria" for entry. All this does is tell some non-participating nation *exactly* what they have to do the last 2 days of qualifying to get an invitation to the CoH, so any pre-announced minimum criteria for entry is entirely counter productive to the spirit of the competition.

Format:
Group Stage - 32 Teams
Knockout Stage (Single Elimination) - 16 Teams

Teams will be split into two regions of 16, with those on either side of the bracket remaining on that side of the bracket until the final. There will be a single round robin with the top 2 advancing in each group.

Tie-breakers:
1) Head to Head
2) Goal Difference
3) Goals Scored
4) Wins
5) KpB Ranking

RP Bonus:
KPB Rankings will be updated prior to the start of the competition, based on performance in the WC58Q. Therefore, all nations will start afresh in their RP Bonus. There will be an RP Bonus for roster, then RP Bonus for each matchday (including Pre MD-1) of the competition. Nations will have the option of denoting their WC Roster as still applicable for the CoH in their invitation acceptance.

Do bids not have to be co-hosted now? I might be wrong but I know it is for the WC.

Bids can be made as singles, but more than likely a dual bid will be voted for. Not trying discouraging Vilita from making his bid, though.

As you see in my post, the intent is that this will be co-hosted by another member.

However, with my experience, I'd likely be doing the bid thread anyway, so while I'm negotiating with potential co-hosts (Have one already in mind), I've put up the thread.

In your opinion, what makes the World Cup 31 Scorinatior better than Xkorinate or NSFS?

I never claimed it was better. They are all random number generators in the end, they just generate them slightly differently.

I'd like to bring this to your attention as a counter-argument: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7950

Yes, it may be rather old, but my point stands, and it is that bids for CoH don't necessarily have to be co-hosted, and a single-host bid can even have the same odds of winning a co-hosted bid can have. The World Cup, on the other hand, needs to be co-hosted since it consumes a considerable amount of time and effort from the hosts, which would be too difficult for a single person to handle.

And to Vilita, I'd like to know if there's another reason different to "an easier format to work with" for you to cap the tournament at 32 entries. Just wondering...

I have no problem working with non-traditional numbers of teams. However, the CoH is an invitational supplement to the World Cup. I intend to have the tournament completed prior to the World Cup Final, allowing this "World Cup Cycle" to conclude with the World Cup Final. More teams would result in a longer, more drawn out tournament, further pushing back the start of the next cycle as we wait for a supplementary tournament to conclude is not what I plan to offer in my bid.

FYI: New Montreal States is also apart of this bid as the second host for the other 16 teams. Apologies for the delayed announcement!

I am! My hosting bona fides include co-hosting World Cup 28 and CoH 16 with the Archregimancy, both of which were well received. I was not happy with the gap between WC57 and the subsequent CoH, and I hope to restore the quick turnovers between World Cups and Cups of Harmony from the days of yore.
