World Indoor Soccer Championship 4 (RP/Roster/Scores)

Postby Mangolana » Sun Jan 15, 2012 4:26 pm

World Indoor Soccer Championship 4

Mangolana, the host of the second WISC, wishes to once again launch a bid for the 4th WISC in Mangolana, thanks to its great finacial sucess for our nation last time. Most of the people here in Mangolana you can call sport freaks, with almost everybody here loving the game of soccer and Futsal. Mangolana has recently taken a hietus from hosting tournaments after the catostrophic events of Baptism of Fire 44, where all stadiums were closed without reason, forcing the Baptism of Fire to be mostly played in the nation of Qazox. But now, as Mangolana tries to raise there national and World integrity, they have decided the best way to do so again, is to host a world wide tournament and show other nations the good side of this country and that the events of Baptism of Fire 44 will never happen again

Format: With 24 teams competing for the WISC title, we will have 4 groups of 6, with each team playing each other once. The top 2 teams in each group will advance to the knockout rounds. Teams will be re-seeded again following from 1-8 by way of overall group record, followed by the tiebreakers in order. From there the winner of the 1-8 game will play the winner of the 4-5 game, while the winner of the 2-7 game will play the winner of the 3-6 game in the Semi-Finals. The winners of the Semi-Final games will play in the Championship game, while the Semi-final losers will play in the Third Place game. A new addition to the tournament will be the fifth place tournament, in which the teams that lose in the quarterfinals will play each other in a, single round robin group stage format. This will give us places 1-8 for the tournament.

Scorinator: I will use XKorinate Futsal scorinator for this tournament. It is the same as that of when I hosted WISC 2 and I feel that it gave accurate results based on Ranking and RP.

RP Bonus: RP bonuses will be graded on respect for opponents' RP permissions, overall quality, spelling, (won't be too picky), and effort (generally, the longer the better). A score between .25 and 1 will be assigned (one being the best) for one's RP. If an enterent does not RP, no bonus will be granted. RP's will degrade by 50% a day, so to offer more incentive to RP consistently

The following four stadiums will host all the group stage games, and will make it so that each nation plays at each facility at least once during the tournament. East Hills Stadium and Quentis County Recreation Center will be used for the 5th place round robin, while Arena at the Woods and North Star field will be used for the Semi-finals, third-place game, and finals. Each stadium will play host to a quarterfinal.

Yesopalitha Flames WISC 4 Squad

Note: With the new law being passed that at least 1/3 but not over 2/3 of every Yesopalithan sports team must be composed of Unbidden, the YSC is proud to announce this roster.

Nation Name: The Nomadic Unbidden Chosen of Zaiden of Yesopalitha and its Peoples
Team Name: Flames
Trigramme: YSP
Style Modifier: +1

Head Manager: Vilian Schmer Age: 40 Race: Vampire (Originally Elf)
Assistant Manager: Lilian Thomas Age: 24 Race: Elf

Goalkeeper: #4 Mish'hana Age: 20 Race: Orc Weight: 280 lbs Height: 7 ft 6 inches
Mish'hana was chosen for this team because he is big, tall, fast, strong, and most of all, he's smart. Also, he is very kind for an Orc.
Left Defender: #21 Ishmael Van Tupa Age: 17 Race: Human Weight: 180 lbs Height: 5 feet 10 inches
After the Baptism of Fire, Ishmael ended on this team because of his ball-handling skills. How he moves on after the tragic loss of his two former coaches remains to be seen.
Right Defender: #33 Sandralie Artenae Age: 30 Race: Beastling (Beaver) Weight: 170 lbs Height: 5 feet 9 inches
Sandralie is very excited to play on this team. Very athletic for a Beaver Beastling, she's not someone you want tackling you.
Left Forward: #71 Earie Netto-Wans Age: 26 Race: Human Weight: 175 lbs Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Earie ended up here as well, and will try to help this team win. He, too, is dealing with the loss. At least he and Ishmael have each other...
Right Forward: #86 Sitru Y'hakasa Age: 20 Race: Werewolf Weight: 220 lbs Height: 7 feet
Sitru is a very fast Werewolf. He can play both as a human and a Werewolf, and is aware of the Yesopalithan code which states that he cannot change during either half, only at halftime.

#26 Nicka Morp Age: 124 Race: Dwarf Weight: 200 lbs Height: 4 feet 9 inches
#54 Cartes Werk Age: ? Race: Reaper Demon Weight: ? Height: 7 feet
#96 Nitye Vrukes Age: 300 Race: Vampire (originally Human) Weight: 250 lbs Height: 6 feet 1 inch
#20 Reoria Tunkeen Age: 19 Race: Griffin Changeling Weight: 190 lbs Height: 5 feet 10 inches

RP goal scorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: N
RP yellow cards: Y (nothing ridiculous, one a game)
RP red cards: N (TG me if you really want to)
RP injuries: Y (Only Bidden. Good luck trying to injure a Vampire, Werewolf, Demon, or Orc.)
Godmod injuries: N
Godmod other events: N (TG me if you have any ingenious ideas...
Note: I am always interested in doing a series of RP's with another country, so if anyone's interested, TG me.

From the Yesopalitha Sports Network, Facts and Opinions Only

After the new initiative was passed, the fact of Yesopalitha sports shifted. Now, humans will have to share the spotlight with other races. The first tournament in which we shall see if this works or not will be in Indoor Soccer.

The Baptism of Fire team endured tragedy to reach the Round of 16, continuing the streak of Flames teams that made it to the postseason. Will this team be able to do the same? That is to be seen.

We have drawn ourselves in a tough group with Polar Islandstates, Ipeland, Cyborg Holland, Cyprardeos, and Maximum Farmers Fortuna. The Flames must once again upset some ranked teams in order to have a legitimate chance of making it to the playoffs.

Nothing new, right?

Let's see how they do this time...

Reporting from Freedom's Altar, Yesopalitha, this is the Yesopalitha Sports Network.

First match: against Cyborg Holland

WISC 4 kicks off with easy win
Ipeland 5-1 Cyprardeos

Yes, it's this time again. The World Indoor Soccer Championships have started, and this time it is the 4th edition of the cup. The first round of group games were played yesterday, and Ipeland got off to a cracking start, winning 5-1 against the pretty much unknown Cyprardeos. Gerad Dosad hit 3 of Ipeland's goals and Homer Haampson scored a brace. As a result of this, Ipeland are now top of Group C on goals against, ahead of Yesopalitha.

From the Yesopalithan Sports Network, Facts and Opinions Only

The Flames defeated Cyborg Holland 7-3 today in the first game of the fourth version of the World Indoor Soccer Championship. Mish'hana had a rough start, giving up three goals early, and then the Orc calmed down to blank out the opposing squad for the rest of the game. Ishmael and Sandralie did a great job helping Mish'hana calm down. On the other hand, Earie and Sitru scored most of the goals, with the man scoring three and the Werewolf scoring four. Sitru decided to play in his Wolf form, and caused major havoc on the opposing team. It was a pretty solid win.

Coach Vilian Schmer commented that the team would have to do better to defeat the higher ranked teams in the group. The next match will be against Ipeland, a ranked team and the team that is leading the group in the early stages. It isn't a must-win, but with a game against fourth-ranked Polar Islandstates coming up, it will be an interesting match-up to see where this team matches up.

95X WISC MD1 RP

Postby 95X » Fri Jan 20, 2012 4:36 pm

From the Pacific City Courier:
95X Upsets Darmen
QUENTIS, MANGOLANA—Organizers of the first 95X Indoor Soccer Team thought they'd have to explain indoor soccer to potential players as another sport but played with your feet instead. However, they couldn't be more surprised as 95X won their first match by defeating #5 Darmen, 8 to 7.

“We couldn't be more surprised at the amount of talent in 95X,” head coach Robert Mockman said. Mockman was hired by team organizers known only as “95X Indoor Soccer Corporation” only two weeks before competition began, after players had already started training under the organizers.

95X found themselves down 2-0 in the first five minutes on quick goals by Darmen forwards Deangelo Detering and Shon Nitcher. Shortly thereafter, 95X's Lyle Russell scored at the other end for 95X's first goal in international indoor soccer competition. Darmen struck right back on a free kick after a personal foul on Lincoln Foursixtythird, to lead 3-1. Nearly five minutes passed by before Russell scored for 95X again, starting a team rally where goals by Toby Sigrid and defender Randolph Fivehundredthird put 95X in the lead 4-3 at the half.

Second half play opened as Darmen exploited the 95X teams' inexperience as Nitcher opened the second half with a goal on Darmen's first possession, tying the game at 4-all. Sigrid answered for 95X three minutes later, putting 95X up 5-4. Darmen adjusted to their surprisingly-formidable opponents as defender Kristoffer Ozaeta found a long-range opportunity while 95X goalkeeper Ari Fourtwentysixth seemingly concentrated on Detering and Nitcher. A personal foul on Darmen at the other end gave 95X's Russell a successful free kick for a 6-5 95X lead with approximately twelve minutes remaining in the match. Sigrid's goal three minutes later gave 95X a two-goal lead.

That's when 95X started prematurely celebrating on the pitch, leading to Lyle Russell's red card for shoving an opposing player for no obvious reason. Detering scored both a free kick for Darmen as well as another goal immediately after, when 95X was allowed to put Harrison Sewell on the pitch to replace sent-off Russell.

As both teams became vigilantly conservative on the pitch for the remainder of the game, Sigrid scored the final goal of the game for 95X, leading the team to victory.

95X 8 (Russell :05, :11, :28; Sigrid :15, :23, :31, :38; Fivehundredthird :19)
Darmen 7 (Detering :02, :06, :32 (2); Nitcher :04, :20; Ozaeta :26)

From the Yesopalithan Sports Network, Facts and Opinions Only

Ipeland 7, Yesopalitha 5

The general consensus after this loss to Ipeland is that the Flames' run at consecutive postseason appearances seem to be over. The Ipelanders came out strong, scoring six of their seven goals before the half. Mish'hana, Ishmael, and Sandralie were overwhelmed by the attack of Ipeland, while Earie and Sitru didn't help much, losing the ball almost every time that they had it. It seemed like it was going to be a blowout, as the Flames were behind 6-0 at the half.

However, Coach Vilian Schmer did a nice job talking them up, and the Flames played a much better second half. Sitru scored a hat trick in a span of ten minutes. Then, Earie took over, scoring two via a vicious header and a beautiful free kick. However, Gerad Dosad scored on a breakaway with five minutes left, and the Flames were left in the dust as they tried to catch up to no avail.

The Flames must pick themselves off of the ground and get prepared for the match against 4Polar Islandstates. It would be an improbable upset if the Flames won, and if they do lose, the chances of Qualifying are slim, for then, Ipeland and Polar Islandstates would have tiebreakers over the Flames, meaning that the Flames would probably not make it to the playoffs.

Coach Schmer stated, "They know that tomorrow is do or die... And that soon, with the qualifying of the World Cup starting, they won't even get all of the spotlight. Tomorrow is it for us."

Will the Flames prevail? Or will they fall to the fourth ranked team in the world? Will the tradition started in the IBC IX continue, or will a Flames team, for the first time in their history, not make it to the playoffs? Well, tune in tomorrow when the Flames face their destiny.

Reporting from Skyline, Mangolana, this is the Yesopalithan Sports Network.

From the Pacific City Courier:
95X Defeats Another Ranked Team In Second Attempt
ZIRCANA, MANGOLANA—Even though Carmadin is ranked 23rd going into the Fourth World Indoor Soccer Championship, newcomers 95X saw it as nothing to take lightly. And after forty minutes on the indoor soccer pitch, 95X won their second game 5-2.

Showing a bit more composure than their previous game against Darmen, 95X simply fielded a better team than their Rushmori opponents. 95X Head Coach Robert Mockman gave his backups some late playing time when it became clear 95X would walk away with a victory.

Toby Sigrid has quickly established himself as a team leader after scoring four goals against Darmen and three against Carmadin.

“Someone needs to step up,” Sigrid commented. “Might as well be me.”

Carmadin scored their only two goals in the first half, as Ari Fourtwentysixth picked up on Carmadin's offensive strategies.

“It's a learning experience for all of us,” Fourtwentysixth said. “We can practice against ourselves and draw on our pick-up experience all we want, it's no substitute for international competition.”

95X rises to 2-0 in Group C play, behind leaders Carasatoga only on Goals Aganst.

Polar Islandstates 6, Yesopalitha 6

With their backs against the line, the Flames of Yesopalitha knew that they had to give fourth-ranked Polar Islandstates a fight, or their shot at the playoffs would be over. Coach Vilian Schmer stated, "They knew what they needed to do, and were determined to get it accomplished, no matter what the cost."

The Polar Islandstates team showed why they were the fourth ranked team in the world early. The Orc Mish'hana was simply overwhelmed as the Flames were actually down 5-3 at the half. Sitru and Earie scored one goal each, and Ishmael added a goal from his unlikely defensive spot.

In the second half, though, the Flames dominated. Ishmael and Sandralie helped Mish'hana calm down, and the Orc only gave up one goal. Sitru and Earie took care on the offensive end, and the Flames tied the fourth ranked team in the world by a score of six goals to six.

This sets up an interesting scenario. The Flames should be able to win their last two games, and with Polar Islandstates and Ipeland having to play each other, they might be able to sneak in.

We shall have to observe...

From the Pacific City Courier:
Three In a Row For 95X!
WEST MASCONA, MANGOLANA—95X made quick work of unranked opponent Mapletish in their third game of World Indoor Soccer Championship Four Group C play, convincingly winning 11-5 and giving their opponents their third consecutive loss. The 95X win puts the team in first place despite being their first appearance in the tournament, and guarantees a winning record in group play.

95X led the entire game, quickly building an early 5-0 lead. Even goalkeeper Ari Fourtwentysixth joined in the scoring action.

“Our net was in no danger of being attacked when I scored,” Fourtwentysixth commented following the game.

Toby Sigrid again led 95X with 5 of the team's 11 goals, including three of the first five, and three assists.

95X's next opponent is the other undefeated team in Group C, 12th-ranked Carasatoga.

95X 11 (Sigrid :04, :07, :08, :16, :28; Foursixtythird :05; Russell :10, :15; Fivehundredthird : 20; Fourtwentysixth :21; Cooper :37)
