NSCU Tour of Darmen (RP/Results)

Postby Brendino the 3rd » Thu Oct 20, 2011 5:56 pm

Tour of Darmen

The NSCU first ever multi-stage race will be held in the nation of Darmen. The three stage event will contain two large mountain stages and a time trial. The total race distance will be 630km over the large country of Darmen. Here is the stage information:

Stage 1:
Total Distance: 270km
Flat: 21km
Hill: 82km
Mountain: 95km
Downhill: 72km
Climbs: 2nd Category (32km), Hors Categorie (88km), 3rd Category (152km)
Sprints: 135km

Stage 2 (Time Trial):
Total Distance: 40km
Flat: 36km
Hill: 3km
Mountain: 0km
Downhill: 1km

Stage 3:
Total Distance: 320km
Flat: 30km
Hill: 20km
Mountain: 200km
Downhill: 70km
Climbs: Hors Categorie (43km, 120km, 254km)
Sprints: 160km

This race strongly favors the climbers, particularly the all around cyclists that can climb and time trial. The long stages will test the integrity of each team as they attempt to catapult their leaders into the leader's jersey over the three brutal stages. The gaps between the racers should be large with over 300km of mountains and hills

Arsenolia will see balanced race for them.

Postby Arsenolia » Thu Oct 20, 2011 7:32 pm

Arsenolia will trust Carl for winning this one again, also trusting Steven Jackson, having won 3rd place in the last race. We will see some losses to, because our team is not good at time trials. We will not do well on that, so we will trust our power in the climbing.
If you happen to be one of those people who cannot figure out the obvious, let me tell you that I like the Arsenal soccer team. This sport is more commonly known as football.

Another Tough Race For Krumbia

Another tough race is in for Krumbian Cycling. They are going to have to take part in a 630km race across the nation of Darmen. That's right, 630km. Nelson Lavern Conway that managed to get 16th in the Classica de Witlz is the one to watch from Krumbia.

Jovan Voralić makes history

In the Fajaravik News

Recently, five players of Thatius entered the Cycling Union, which was formed by the nation of Brendino the 3rd. After a lack-luster performance in the Cycling event of the Olympics, the five players formed a team called the Elysées Champions. Now they are headed for Darmen to participate in the Tour of Darmen, a three stage event with lots of mountainous climbing. Jovan Voralić made history last night, as he became the first Thatian with Serbian heritage to be named for the Medal of Sports, an honor given to the athlete who makes an impact both in the sports and public world. Jovan has helped his country after he donated large sums of money to reconstruct the town of Nova Gradi, after it was destroyed by an earthquake. He then worked for a few months as a volunteer for the "Love Sports, Love Giving" program, in which he taught kids the basics of sports training, the importance of stretching, and giving presentations on his work. Jovan also participated in several national tournaments that took place in Thatius, where he earned the gold medal in three of the four events. Now he is primed to make some noise while in the Cycling Union.

But will he find success at the Tour of Darmen? We're not too sure. This course is mostly about climbing, with over 300 kilometers of mountains and hills. Jovan is mainly a cycler focused with the Time Trial and Flat terrain, but he might perform decently in Darmen. The man who might gain some glory is Dominic Nygaard. After growing up in the The Valley, he's had plenty of experience with mountainous terrain, and will surely do well in those stages of the race.

Peugeot-Nike Prepares for Tour of Darmen
After two podium finishes in the first two events of the NSCU, Brendino the 3rd's cycling team Peugeot-Nike seems ready to take on the competition during the Tour of Darmen. With two solid climbers in Winslow Mathers and Ryder Greene, PN is looking to compete for both the overall title and the mountain jersey. Mathers has been named the team leader and rider Wayne Lemond will be competing for the time trial victory in stage 2.
As a team, we are very strong in the climbing category. I have complete confidence in my teammates and hope to win this tour.

Unhappy Arsenolia will go on to stage 2 knowing that their best place in Tour of Darmen is 13th place. They must be better in this race if they want to get better results at the end of the tour.

Solid Time Trial Launches Peugeot-Nike's Mathers in to Overall Lead
After the first ever time trial event was held during the Tour of Darmen, Brendino the 3rd cyclist Winslow Mathers managed to capture the leader's jersey heading into the final stage today. A 5th place finish in the stage was enough to catapult Mathers past leader Scott Perry of Darmen Airlines, who was at a disadvantage in time trialing. Perry still sits comfortably in 3rd overall, only 1:20 back to Mathers. With another monstrous mountain stage approaching, Mathers will look to hold off Perry and Wayne Blunt of United Megadia Sports Club on the 300km long stage 3.

In another aspect of the race, Peugeot-Nike has made it known that cyclist Ryder Greene will be competing to bring home the mountain's jersey by going for the climbing points on the 3rd stage.
