Euro Hockey League - Series 1 (Rosters/RP/Scores)

Postby North Chicanan » Mon Jun 13, 2011 5:19 pm

Hello there from Port Augustine, located on the western coast of the Main Island of North Chicanan.

Yeah, we moved again. Tired of unpacking really.

Anywhoos...we'd like to welcome the 11 other states who will be joining North Chicanan for the first (again) Euro Hockey League in our lovely city, and hope to make for a splendid even that actually finishes this time.

First, the updates on qualifers. As it stands, we now are at 12 teams so there will be two groups of six competing in five matches during the group stage. The top teams from each group will advance to the semifinals while the second and third place teams will compete against each other in the quarterfinals.

Matchplay begins on Wednesday with first day scores being posted at 10am EST. Daily updates will be issued to keep everyone abrest of shifting time changes (ooc: Macy's is of the Devil and it's One-Day Sale time, so I have insane hours this weekend) of RP cut-offs and times to expect scores, but we should be able to keep at a good clip.

Group A and Group B will play at both the Port Augustine College Stadium and at Port Augustine Cricket Grounds, alternating dates between the two sites. College Stadium and the Cricket Grounds will be designed for two fields to be in play, with matches staggered throughout the day.

And now....The Groups!

Group A (at College Stadium on Day 1, 3 and 5)
North Chicanan
Polkopia
Darmen
Vantelira
Silver Beach
Chenkoyra

Group B (at Cricket Grounds on Day 1,3 and 5)

Schedule goes:
Day 1 (Wednesday):
1 v 6
2 v 5
3 v 4

Day 2 (Thursday):
6 v 4
5 v 3
1 v 2

Day 3 (Friday):

Day 4 (Sunday):
6 v 5

Roster

Style mod at -0.5.

Starting line-up

1. Archie Tyler (GK)
2. Hayden Power (Sweeper)
3. Max Riley (Left Wingback)
4. Adam Wade (Left CB)
5. Lewis Marsden (Right CB)
6. Isaac Bond (Right Wingback)
7. Elliot Hill (Left Midfielder)
8. Harry Cox (Right Midfielder)
9. Leo Begum (Centre Midfielder)
10. Sebastian West (Left Striker)
11. Kieran Andrews (Right Striker)
_____________________________________________________________________________

Substitutes

12. Robert McKenzie (Striker)
13. Daniel Webb (Midfielder)
14. Alexander Singh (Wingback)
15. Thomas Parry (Fullback/Sweeper)
16. Tyler Thorpe (Goalkeeper)

OOC - I know the formation is messed up. The prebox is being stupid and I can't be bothered to fix it, cause I'm too lazy.

---------------------------------------TYLER---------------------------------------------------------------
----POWER (C)----
----MARSDEN---- ----WADE----

----BOND (VC)---- ----COX---- ----BEGUM---- ----HILL---- ----RILEY----

----ANDREWS---- ----WEST----

The team uses a 1-2-5-2 formation, although since Bond and Riley are Wingbacks, when they're required to run down to the defense, it changes to 1-4-3-2. At the start of a match the two are always up at the Midfield.

AN OSN MESSAGE

A Message from the Director of Sports for Okunion Ron Carotti,
Dear fellow competitors, I don't know if you feel this way or not but the Bureau of Sports in Okunion feels that the Euro Hockey League wasn't as good of organzied that it could have been. I hope North Chicanan has no hard feelings against our nation, but this is just the way we feel. Good luck to all the teams of the future in this league as we have no wish as to join this league unless something changes. I think the limited number of rosters submited reflects our view.

At the Port Augustine College Stadium, two members of the Organizing Committee are having a coffee while watching the field be replaced for the final.

"So...what should we have done about their concerns?"

"What concerns?"

"Um...you know, their concerns!"

"Well, I think their concerns should have been addressed at the beginning of the tournament."

"But they said that was the problem!"

"So...we should have been more prompt in addressing their concerns."

"Understood. So, we don't start the event as quick as we did this time?"

"Yes, we give everyone plenty of time to release information to their national press."

"But no one covered the tournament."

"And clearly we need to allow more time between matches for coverage to the world."

"But it's field hockey."

"And you say that like it should not be treated with reverence."

"But...I mean c'mon John. You know we as a nation try and run a tournament on a prompt schedule."

"And now we know when we do we have to be more accomidating to all states."

"...John?"

"Yes David?"

"Shut up."

And with that, they return to coffee. The Grand Final's results will be up 1pm EST ^_^

[ooc: done in jest, North Chicanan is known for both prompt tournaments and holding a grudge at the slightest dig at the state ;)]

Cyborg Holland 2-3 Darmen

Congrats to Darmen as the inaugural winner of the Hockey League. and may the second one please everyone organizationally ;)
