Congratz to Saintland on that win, and a big thank you to Quebec and Vettrera for a Bowl well run.

I wasn't joking on my last post btw, I'm working on songs for the next world bowl as we speak. Just don't be surprised if my players break out into song in dance during the game. :p
98% of all internet users would cry if facebook would break down, if you are part of that 2% who simply would sit back and laugh then copy and paste this into your sig.

Congrats, Saintland! Commiserations to Gregstanm Ko-oren, and EQS. And congratulations and thanks to Quebec and Vettrera on a smoothly-run event!

On a side-note/pedantic gripe that should not be taken seriously, I still don't understand how I've only been ranked first once, despite four championships. :p

I'm not sure. ES will have to answer that one, but the next World Bowl should (ideally) start sometime prior to Super Bowl XLIX.

Given the lack of interest in the current edition of the Maple Leaf Bowl in particular and in gridiron tournaments that aren't the World Bowl in general, I have decided to put that tournament on hiatus for the time being. If there is a sudden increase in interest in gridiron, I may consider bringing it back in the future, but there's just no reason to hold regular tournaments that draw little, if any, activity.

So before February then? Perfect.
TBH, the above post was more along the lines of a "tag" post, so I don't miss it when it does roll round. Also, advance warning that I am not American and know little about the sport, so forgive me if I make any mistakes.

Meant to answer this earlier, but never got around to it.

My intention is to open signups around the end of World Cup qualifying, which will likely be sometime around the first couple weeks of December, which will hopefully allow us to avoid any overlap with the WC and CoH, while also (potentially) capitalizing on any increase in interest thanks to the end of the NFL season and the build-up for the playoffs. Thus, the likely start time for the WB will likely be in January, though exactly when will depend on whether or not we have a Baptism of Iron and the schedules of the tournament host(s).

Wasn't that Canadian football? I'm usually a bit hesitant to join tournaments in sports I don't know very well (like Cricket) and the World Bowl remains the only tournament for national teams in American football. I agree with the other sentiments on waiting for the playoffs in the NFL to draw some more attention.

Until that time it's going to be domestic Gridiron then

Yes, but that tournament has now been abandoned, due to the utter lack of rps.

Well, the only regular American Football tournaments on NS Sports are the World Bowl and Baptism of Iron (which is for first-time competitors in the World Bowl only). The signup thread for the next edition of both of those will be posted in 1-2 weeks' time.

There's also NSCF, which is a college football league held on a regular basis. Signups for the next season will go up after the World Bowl.

There was the Maple Leaf Bowl as well (a regular Canadian football tournament), but that's on hiatus due to lack of interest (absolutely no RPs in the last edition).

There's no reason someone can't create their own invite/open gridiron tournament. Not that it would neccessarily become part of the Bowl cycle, but besides that, it could still be fun. Just don't do what this 'Thebear' guy is doing and not do your research and due diligence first.
TG me with questions if you got some, especially about GE&T or PMCs.

World Bowl XXV signups are now open

And as previously discussed, we're moving to a new thread. Please continue any discussions there.
