Signups for the 18th Rugby (union) World Cup have been opened and can be found here. Probably also worth confirming that I've set the NS Rugby Board Executive Council account up for use in opening signup threads and other such ExCo business and the password for it has been passed on to Logria and Kulverint as the other two member of the Executive Council.

Damn, I should've asked this before the vote, but Darmen why are you giving one point to teams for losses?

The Darmeni Rugby Federation decided to award one point to teams who lost, but still put effort into the game. 0 points would be awarded to a team who forfeits, and puts no effort into the game. If you think that this is a big problem (it shouldn't, as 1 point won't help a team much) and would like me to change it, I can.

How is a team meant to forfeit? How do you judge which teams are "putting effort in?"

A numeral value would be helpful as a definition.

The point for PIS comes from having posted a squad I'd guess.

I'm supposing "still put effort into the game" is considered as having somehow posted (normally having RP'd for said match, but as noted above possibly also posting a squad), and such actions should indeed be rewarded somehow. Which is why we have RP bonus already.

Personally I think it'd be best to stick to the normal 4, 2, 0 and nothing else points system. Had the idea of rewarding nations who "still put effort into the game" but lost been included in the bid and up for debate during the bidding and voting process and up for debate prior to being used then perhaps using it wouldn't be an issue, but it's only just been brought to anyone's attention.

Technicly everyone who loses would get a point, it has nothing to do with posting an RP or Roster. Although with all the comments about it, from now on I'll use the 4-win, 2-draw, 0-loss point system.

It is an interesting system, I'll give it that, and if you would've made a mention of it before the WC, I'd have probably raised this argument. But since you started the World Cup already with it, you might as well be consistent and finish with it, or you'll have more people complain about the discrepancies.

I agree with Saugeais, you might as well continue with what you started with. People on NS Sports tend to get upset if you change what you started and mess up the whole situation.

The European Super League season's just started, so I've had it mind to get RLWC signups up in the next week or so. Possibly aim to get the tournament itself started around the end of the football World Cup?
