Hosts Loose In Round 1

Postby The Kiaser Colonies » Sun Apr 03, 2011 5:38 am

The Kiaser Colonies lost the first round of the Rock Wallaby Cup today in front of a home crowd of 200,000 fans in Highroyds City Stadium last night at the opening game of the cup to Zitru. The team were confident of a win before the match and didn't fully concentrate on the fact that this team had several players of the 1st Earth Cup winning team. The game was very evenly matched in the first half with niether side creating much. The best chance of the half came when James Watson's free kick was saved by the Zitru keeper and had to be put out for a corner to avoid a certain goal.

In the second half the game remained evenly matched but Zitru started to make more chances. After 15 minutes of the second half Zitru were begining to look like they were taking control of the game now that they had stopped The Kiaser Colonies attack. Unfortunately their power came with a price when their goalkeeper was sent off after sliding in with a malicious leading foot and took down Nomah Papakoi outside the box. So on came the substitude goalkeeper and the corner back and the goalkeeper came off. Zitru came back and scored the first goal 6 minutes later to the dismay of the home fans after the the left side striker had his shot deflected goalwards after it was half blocked by Jerry Wallaby. The game really went to Zitru after that and they went 2-0 up after the left wing mid found the back of the net after sloting the ballin at the far post to beat Liam O'Hare. The final score finished The Kiaser Colonies 0-2 Zitru. The only plus for our nation was that Nomah Papakoi won the Watson's Electric Guitars man of the match award.

Nitrome Island named a youthful and inexperienced side to face Monfortia in the Rock Wallaby Cup. The Islanders had 5 players making their first apperance for the country and two of which were only playing their first professional game of 11 a side soccer. Nitrome Island were on the ropes for the first 20 minutes with Monfortia making plenty of attacking chances but the brilliance of Adam Paterson kept them in the game. In the 38th minute Kambia Swah received a long pass from Manu Lomu and was left 1 on 1 with the Monfortia keeper. The experienced Arctic F.C player show the finishing that got him the 3rd most goals in the Nitrome Premiership as he chipped the ball over the low diving keeper. The game was a rather boring afair right up till the 90th minute but in the 3 minute of injury time Adam Nitrome scored his 150th goal for the national team after his free kick beat the keeper all ends up. It finished 2-0.

PHOENIX POST
The Young Holy Phoenix Cruise to The Victory
Al-Mumtaz 3 - 0 The Coming Reich

This was the first International Match of the Holy Phoenix after the Great Football Restructuration in Al-Mumtaz.
The Third Generation of the National Team lead by Batutah successfully destroyed The Coming Reich.

Ismat Hugo scored twice, while the enemy defender was completely beaten by him.

Hugo's first came in the opening minute, and the second was soon after half time. Batutah made it three with a penalty one minute from time.

"We stayed calm and played good football," Fauzan Kamil said. "We didn't let them have many chances to score and we had a lot of chances ourselves.

Al-Mumtaz scored with the first attack of the game. Batutah linked up with Kazuo to set up Catahecassa with a chance. Enemies goalkeeper deflected the ball into the Hugo's path and he slotted it into the empty net.

Hugo then nearly turned provider when he crossed to the far post, but Catahecassa was just short when he slid in.

Hugo then double his tally with a header from the corner kick by Batutah.

And Batutah completed the victory with a penalty that was given after he was tackled by enemies defender.

ZITRAN SPORT 2011

Zitru won the first round of the Rock Wallaby Cup today in front of an away crowd of 200,000 fans in Highroyds City Stadium last night at the opening game of the cup to The Kiaser Colonies. The team focused on winning the game and knew TKC didn't fully concentrate on the fact that we had several players of the 1st Earth Cup winning team, Gill United. The game was very evenly matched in the first half with niether side creating much. The best chance of the half came when James Watson's free kick was saved by Jake Koyle and had to be put out for a corner to avoid a certain goal.

In the second half the game remained evenly matched but we started to make more chances. After 15 minutes of the second half we were begining to look like we were taking control of the game now that we had stopped The Kiaser Colonies attack. Unfortunately our power came with a price when our goalkeeper was sent off after sliding in with a malicious leading foot and took down Nomah Papakoi outside the box. So on came Azhlan Izalov and the corner back and the goalkeeper came off. We came back and scored the first goal 6 minutes later to the dismay of the home fans after Lewis Gill had his shot deflected goalwards after it was half blocked by Jerry Wallaby. The game really went to us after that and we went 2-0 up after Ricardo Rubin found the back of the net after sloting the ball in at the far post to beat Liam O'Hare. The final score finished The Kiaser Colonies 0-2 Zitru. A great addition to us was that Lewis Gill won the MOTM.

The Kiaser Colonies turned round their disappointing start to the Rock Wallaby Cup to beat beat Runfin 2-0 today. Manager Mark Treacy made two changes to the side that lost to Zitru yesterday by bringing on Cian O'Neill for Ronan Jordan and Timmy Baines for Muku Jahai. The game couldn't have had a more tense atmosphere as Runfin were looking to add to the 1st round win against Chenkoyra, while the hosts were looking to win their first game.

Nomah and Mefoko Papakoi kicked off the match and started the teams passing phase of the first 7 minutes were the ball was kept in our possesion. The period of passing was ended when Ricky Lamont beat the Runfin keeper for the Kiaser Colonies first goal of the tournament. The stands full of fans in green erupted with cheers. Runfin tried to pull an equaliser but Liam O'Hare kept his clean sheet to the break with many wonderful saves.

Runfin attacked the Kiaser Colonies goal in the second half with a hope of getting the next goal but O'Hare was virtually unbeatable and it remained 1-0. 58 minutes in to the match, James Watson's free kick from 31 yards out hit the cross bar and the following header attempt was barely saved by the keeper. Runfin battled desperately for 20 minutes but couldn't find the spark of creativity to beat O'Hare. in the 81st minute Timmy Baines was fouled 32 yards fro the goal and James Watson stepped up to take the free. The captain went 1 step better with this free kick and eventhough the keeper got a glove to the ball, the shot thundered into the net and gave the Kiaser Colonies a 2-0 lead. Runfin tried to find a consilation goal but just couldn't finish their shots and it ended 2-0. The Watson's Electric Guitars Man of the Match was Liam O'Hare.

Zitru hit the target again as Lewis Gill's 23rd minute goal secured a 1-0 victory over Chenkorya.

Today, Zitrans everywhere were celebrating again, as they came back with a 1-0 win against a very challenging side Chenkorya. Earlier into the first half, the opposition secured their possession for only 2 minutes until Pazhkelazo came and missed a shot from the halfway line. Lewis Gill on the other hand secured the focus on winning the game with his goal from the corner spot. A yellow card was handed out to one of Chenkorya's players, for slide tackling Ozhenov.

"Chenkorya were a very challenging side I have to admit. And the team, fans and I are looking forward to our last match against Runfin." Martin Gill

"Though we took the lead early, Chenkorya deserved the praise the fans gave them." Reuben Pazhkelazo.

The Kiaser Colonies moved up to 2nd in group D today after beating Chenkoyra 1-0. The manager made 3 changes to the side that beat Runfin yesterday including the return of injured captain Greg Jackson. The main skippers return had a huge effect on the boy's morale and this showed in the game
In the first half The Kiaser Colonies rarely lost the ball and finished the half with 87% possesion. The passing style was rather effective for getting to the other end of the pitch but Edd Earls' finishing let the side down once or twice. In the 35th minute Jackson showed his worth when he took a shot from 20 yards out and, with a tiny bit of help from the crossbar, found the back of the net handing The Kiaser Colonies a 1-0 lead. The last ten minutes of the half were much the same with Watson, Jackson, Earls and the Papakoi twins terrorizing the Chenkoyra defense.

Chenkoyra upped the ante in the second half and were considerabley better. Although the Kiaser Colonies contiued to dominate the play the opponets started to get proper chances. Despite their efforts nothing could beat Liam O'Hare to get the equaliser. The Kiaser Colonies had chances of their own with Watson narowly missing a free kick thanks to the glove of the keeper, and Mefoko Papakoi having his shot deflected away for a corner. The game was an exciting match but the second half remained scoreless and it finished 1-0. This games Man of the Match was the Chenkoyra right mid.
