NS Surfing Championships(OOC thread)

NS Surfing Championships

Welcome to the first NS Surfing Championships, where the best surfers from all over the known NS Universe come to compete against others for the crown of World Champion. This first championship will act more as a test to determine both the interest in the sport and to see if a future surfing tour would act better than a single tournament.

As seen here I already tested a tournament and what it would look and operate like. The scorinator that I used and will use for this first surfing championnships, is summer vigil fasting, after testing with several(gymnastics, synchronized swimming, snowboarding, ect) it was the closet to the actual scoring used, as there is not a surfing scorinator.

How Will this Work?

This will work as real surfing tours work, with being an X number of heats made of three entries each, unlike real championships this will last over three preliminary rounds with the winner of each heat moving on to the next round and into a new heat with appropriately seeded opponents. The preliminary round heat runner ups and 3rd place will move onto the consolation end of the tournament.

Signing Up/Skill Moddifier

As we do with the Olympics and similar events, copy and paste the below Events and add the corresponding names that you wish to enter, the number between the parenthesis is the maximum number of entries that you can sign-up. For this first championships/test tournament puppets will not be allowed.

The average skill moddifier must be 45 or below

Sign-ups will close September 7th

Now we need some people from Fiji, Hawaii and California and we'll be complete.

And a small announcement of sorts, when the IC thread is put up i'd say around the 9th, this for the tournament will act as a discussion thread for future intrest, planning, ect.

Sign-ups will remain open until Sep. 7th and not the 10th as I first had planned, as this is merely a test I sought to cut 3 days off as how i'm planning for the tournament those 3 additional days might be used for the KO rounds. For those wondering how it will pan out:

Right now for the men's and women's side we have 42(each) entries which will be divided into 14 heats of three(which i'll do my best to avoid having no more than one entry from each nation in a single heat for the preliminary rounds) and 21 entries for the U21 and U15.

For each event there will be three preliminary rounds in which the winner of each heat will move onto the championship bracket, the 2nd and 3rd place will move onto the consolation bracket. Each surfer will then be re-seeded into new heat with other equally seeded opponents (ie 2nd place with other 2nd place). However if your surfers are eliminated from the championship round, they still will be surfing for a final position 1-X, each surfer will place from first to last. Since sign-ups are still open I am unable to lay out the exact bracket plans, those will come with detail come the IC thread. I will add visual reference as that I was the only way I was able to plan it out.

There's no need to bump these threads, especially 24 hours after the last post; NS Sports isn't a particularly fast moving forum, and if people are interested, they will find the thread.

On a more on-topic note, expect some kind of Licentian delegation in the next couple of days.
