As much as it pains me to throw away a potential WC ticket, there appears to be a minor mistake in the play-off draws which pits me against Ferret Civilisation instead of Savalen, who gets a much tougher Ethane instead. It only seemed correct to me to point it out.

The IC Banguelan FA wants to disclaim that they disapprove this move by their textwriter.

Either way, it's a tough match for me. And this is what I get for drawing against bottom two seeds in my final three matches (still shouldn't grumble). Just to clarify, I agree, our teams should be switched.

Apologies for the mistake. Both hosts have been very busy IRL over the past few days. The mistake has been rectified. Savalen will be playing against Ferret Civilisation and it will be Ethane against Banguela. Cut off will be at some point after 9pm UTC tonight.

I should probably know this by this point, but...

I saw the rankings have been updated, are the playoffs going to be done using the pre-75 rankings or the new ones?

That rank update isn't official yet, as I haven't double-checked anything. I plan on doing that tonight. The playoffs will be done using the current rankings (ie pre-qual + RP bonuses earned thus far)

The seedings for the World Cup will be based on the new rankings.

Not quite. I'd suggest we discuss this via telegrams.

Seems as if it's going to be a long slog to climb up those rankings. I could only manage to climb 9 spots.

At least Amazonesta was able to make a solid movement up those rankings.

The final teams list is now up on the opening post of the Cup of Harmony Everything Thread. We'll wait for the new rankings, to establish the pots and make the draw of the groups that should be up right after the rank update.

I thought I would be chanceless, given my inability to RP during the playoffs... and now we have our first World Cup participation! YES!

I'll hope now I can half-properly RP the World Cup. I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow...

Two questions: 1) About when is WC75 supposed to start? Can't find it yet... if it's in the next days, I'll try to get at least a proper roster up with possible changes before I leave for vacation. (And wouldn't be able to RP in my first and possibly for some while last World Cup which would be really a shame...)

2) Are we gonna keep using the old threads or are new ones going to open up? I never paid much attention when I was out tbh... so I don't remember how it was last time. And wasn't around before that.

I can't answer the first question, but it would be very unusual for the hosts to put up new threads specifically for the World Cup finals (to the best of my knowledge, it'd be the first time on the current NS forums that any host had done that).

Will the draw be held live? If so, when?

Also, as is, the Cup of Harmony will finish after the World Cup Final. Is this the norm? Does it matter?

Very interesting that the Strongnesse Trophy will be on the line, for the first time, in an actual WCC match. Definitely looking forward to that.

IIRC, I agreed with Nephara long ago that it would be on the line if we ever played each other in a WCC match again, so as the current holder of it, I unilaterally declare that it will be...
