Development/History:
The AAZ-505 is the result of a requirement for a High Mobility Utility Vehicle produced locally. The AAZ-505 was designed to replace Kryzekstan's aging fleet of UAZ-469s, while the UAZ-469 is rugged and reliable it offers almost no protection at all and has limited mounted weapons capability. The AAZ-505 comes factory Armored so there is no need to "uparmor" it and increase wear on the chassis and reduce service life. The hull as a V-Shape to improve protection against landmines and other ground detonated devices. The windows are made of "Transparent Armor" which offer protection against Rifle Calibres up to 7.62mm and fragmentation. Armor consists of, Aluminum-Lithium Alloy, Ballistic Steel Plating, and internal Kevlar Panels to improve crew and vehicle survivability. A powerful 400 hp V-8 diesel powerplant was installed to cope with the heavy weight while still allowing for great mobility.
