Skymovies was born in 1951, as the Royal Moving Picture Company, or RMPC. RMPC was an instant success, with hits and box office sensations across the spectrum of movie genres. RMPC kept going, bouncing up and down in terms of popularity, but generally being a stable benchmark for cinematic success. After the Dangish Cinema Crash of 1972, the RMPC, which survived, was left with large debts. It went public on the Dangish Stock Exchange. The debts were sorted, and the creator of RMPC, Mr. Edward Tailor, was left a millionaire.
The Royal Moving Picture Company kept going, until it hit financial difficulty again after a global recession in the 1990s. Left with financial difficulties that could not be solved the traditional way, the RMPC sold its' brand name, just to keep itself financially viable. The RMPC was renamed, as Keltern Movies, but the RMPC brand continued (as part of a rival studio).
Without its brand image, Keltern Movies was not an instant success. It failed across the ball to attract viewers, and although it had a few considerable hits, Keltern never grew popular with the Dangish public. After the recession of 2007-2008, Keltern again went bankrupt. The Dangish conglomerate, Sky Corporation, decided to purchase its assets.
It won the bidding, and Keltern Movies was renamed as Skymovies. Skymovies continued to produce films, but also broadcasts over 30 channels of 24/7 movies over Skymedia's Skytv. The company which operated the RMPC brand, Metropolitan Moving Picture Studios, later sold the rights to the RMPC brand, back to Skymovies, which is seen as the spiritual successor of RMPC. Skymovies made a large purchase for the rights to produce a Friendships movie.

-Universal (Children): It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. A "Uc" film follows the same rules as "U" films, but we feel it is better suited to children under the age of four.
-Universal: It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. ‘U’ films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
-Parental Guidance: General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch. A ‘PG’ film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.
-12A: 12A films may be seen by anybody over the age of 12, and anybody under the age of 12 when accompanied by an adult.
-15A: 15A films work in exactly the same way as 12A films, but work with the age 15 instead.
-17A: 17A films work in exactly the same way as 12A and 15A films, but work with the age 17 instead.
