The Fair Deal Foundation aims to offer less economically developed countries discounts on products purchased from within those nations, to give them a fighting chance to become strong in our economic world.

Definitions

The Fair Deal Foundation uses Sunset RPG as it's default GDP calculator. The Fair Deal Foundation will also accept NSEconomy, which is extremely similar to Sunset RPG.

Less Economically Developed

The Fair Deal Foundation regularly updates and modifies its' official definition for a "less economically developed country". The Foundation uses different examples to show the definitions of a LEDC. To count as a less economically developed country, a nation must follow at least two criteria:
-A population of less than 1 billion
-An estimated Gross Domestic Product per capita of less than $25,000 USD.
-A consumer confidence of less than 65%
-An unemployment rate of more than 20%
-A black market (estimated) of at least 5% of the national economy

If a nation follows these criteria, they will be officially classed as a less-economically developed country, and will be subject to discounts.

Businesses & Corporations

The Fair Deal Foundation encourages corporations and businesses to don the "Fair Deal " mark to show their commitment to helping nations escape the economic shadows of doom and gloom. We have created a smaller versions of our logo to help businesses advertise their membership of a philanthropic organisation. We would like these logos used with a link back to the Fair Deal website, and we have provided a "code" for businesses to use effectively and efficiently. Please note that you must be an official member of the Fair Deal Foundation - that is, a business giving discounts with permit from the Fair Deal Foundation (application below, member's list above).

Application

If you want to become an official member of the Fair Deal Foundation, that is, a business giving discounts with permit from the Foundation (logo's above, member's list above that), then you can apply here. The benefits of membership include the rights to use the Fair Deal mark at all times, to advertise using it and most importantly, the chance to give weaker economies a "leg up".

There are certain prerequisites to becoming a member of the Fair Deal Foundation. An applicant must not be in any form of administration, must not have total debts surpassing their own annual incomes. In addition to this, they must not be directly owned and administered by a Government (although corporations owned by the Government but operated independently from the Government, eg: JungastianInternational are permitted). Any member which breaks these rules may be ejected from the Fair Deal Foundation. Once approved as a member, members must give some form of discount to less economically developed nations (guidelines below). Please apply here.

Discount Guidelines

The following discount guidelines are, as suggested by their name, 99% optional to all members of the Fair Deal Foundation. This means, simply, that members do not need to follow the following guidelines, but must prove that they are offering some form of discount to less economically developed nations.

The Fair Deal Foundation feels that in order to truly reflect the different aspects of the market, discounts should rise proportionally to actual prices. Therefore, a theoretical sandwich sold to a LEDC would give them a small discount, but a theoretical warship would give them a larger discount. We have listed guidelines according to a set of price categories.

Guidelines

Price RangeDiscount
£0.01-£9.99>1%
£10.00-£99.99>5%
£100.00-£249.996.75%
£250.00-£499.998.25%

£2000.00-£99999.9911%

Please note that these guidelines only apply to civilian products. Military guidelines will be released at a later date.

OOC: Less Economically developed is not really an encouraging description, is it? How about developing nations discount scheme?
IC: Well, our nation's economy is doing swell and so, we do not require such scheme.

OOC: First of all, I specifically said I only wanted OOC comments about the idea of a unified discount smog different, independent storefronts or corporations. I also said this was a Work in Progress, and is not ready to actually offer discounts yet. Less Economically Developed is the official term in modern days, and means the same as 3rd World or Less Developed. Basically this will be gauged based on population and GDP based on Sunset's Calculator.

OOC: I'm not really sure what would be good military guidelines? They should roughly correlate with the civillian one, but I don't know...
