In an effort to modernise out armed forces The Republic of Baldur Prime is issuing a Request for Proposal to military contracts. We are looking for capable, competent and high-quality equipment, to expand and improve on the combat capability of our military.

We are now accepting proposal for the following equipment types:

Light Machine Gun
We require a new light machine gun to replace out aging M249 SAW. Our fleet of m249 machine guns have been in service for several decades now and are becoming increasingly unreliable.

Requirements:

• Fully ambidextrous
• Capable of providing accurate and reliable firepower
• Fire 5.56x45mm NATO rounds (similar cartridges will be considered as well)
• Able to fire both semi and fully automatic
• Lighter in weight

General Purpose Machine Gun
We require a new general purpose machine gun to replace out aging M240 and MG3 machine guns.

Requirements:

• Fully ambidextrous
• Capable of providing accurate and reliable firepower over long range
• Fire 7.62x51mm NATO rounds (similar cartridges will be considered as well)
• Able to fire both semi and fully automatic
• Lighter in weight

Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
A new light and accurate bolt action rifle capable of engaging enemies over long range

Requirements:

• Fully ambidextrous
• Accurate over long range
• Reliable

• Low in weight

Self Propelled Artillery
A fast, manoeuvrable and well protect self propelled artillery gun capable of providing accurate fire over long ranges.

Requirements:

• Well protected against both enemy fire and mines/IED's
• Easy to maintain
• Fuel efficient
• Fire 155mm rounds (similar rounds will be considered as well)
• Capable of providing accurate fire over long ranges

Multirole Fighter
A fast and agile, supersonic single engined fighter jet, capable of competing and outperforming existing modern fighters such as the F-16 or the JAS-39.

We are looking for 5 or 6 massive ships to serve as capital and the flag ship of our navy, we are looking for a very large size aircraft carrier or a battleship.

• Preferably a very large aircraft carrier class (battleships will also be considered)

We heard about your impressive rearmament programm and would like to offer our services to you, specifically in the more maritime part of your modernization program.

First, in regards of your request for a multirole fighter, I can offer you the SDY-Sciathan 18 Stuama Mark II Light Multirole Fighter, we call it simply the Stuama. It is a light, small and easy to maintain aircraft, which is highly maneuvreable. Advanced avionics and radar make this aircraft capable of detecting the enemy before the enemy detects the Stuama, while heavy weaponry assures, that the Stuama comes out on top of the enemy.

The core of our proposal, however, is our Catalogue of naval vessels:
In regards of your request for a new flagship for the Navy of Baldur Prime, I can even offer you two options, the Glorium-class Command Ship and the Sealgaire-class Helicopter Carrier.
Both are highly versatile vessels, capable of acting as flagships, but while the Glorium-class is a dedicated command vessel, the Sealgaire-class is more of a jack of all trades. Both are more then capable of defending themselves, extensive EW-suites and weaponry make sure of that, and have advanced sensor systems at their disposal.
If you were, however, to prefer an aircraft carrier, we can oblige as well as the design for the Beag-class Aircraft Carrier is reaching its final stages.

We at Covenant Arms have been made aware that you are seeking out multiple new weapon systems that suit various needs of yours. After careful consideration, we have decided to offer the following:

The MA-300 Berdun is an LMG that could fulfill the role of both LMG and GPMG. It can fire both of the rounds you have specified as well as an astonishing variety of others. It is significantly lower weight than the M249 and M240B and is a far more capable weapons platform.

While the MA-300 would make a fine GPMG on its own, we will offer a second system for the sake of your option portfolio. While it is indeed heavier than the M240B, the MA-340 Reil Heavy/General Purpose Machine Gun is inarguably the most effective and deadly machine gun ever made. It is capable of tearing through any fprm of body armor currently on the field, penetrating through buildings and terrain, and even defeating without seconday aid the armor of light vehicles. This allows firepower superior to that of any comparable system on the planet to be placed on footmobile infantry. The resulting firepower increase from the use of the Berdun and Rail combination is extreme, and gives infantry a leg up in engagements.

For the self-propelled gun, we will offer the MRA-550 Lion. You will find its capabilities much to your liking, we believe.


Next is the fighter. After careful consideration, we have decided to offer the MAF-50 Pegasus light multi-role combat jet. It features world class dogfighting capability and a devastating array of possible armaments, along with an advanced capability to engage in innumerable roles from both the ground and at sea. With an ability to operate out of unimproved zones and other difficult areas, the MAF-50 is truly unique in it's wide range of roles it can more than ably fill at a considerable cost-to-effectiveness ratio. There exists a stealth option as well- the MAF-50S Silent Pegasus. Not only does this feature advanced stealth and retain all of the same world-beating qualities of the Pegasus, but it features a redesigned internal weapons suite that makes it a highly effective ground attack aircraft. We would also suggest for a medium ranged missile the AIM-220 Velvet Glove, a potent and highly advanced missile system that stands at the pinnacle of current weapons technology. We stand ready to answer any and all questions, and have prepared for the second stage should the Pegasus be selected.

The Lexian class carriers were based off the Essex class design because it was cheap to manufacture in numbers. Four carriers were then modified during construction to take on steam engines and two nuclear reactors, at request of the Dreamlinersian Navy. These ships were the DNS carriers Trident, Jupiter, Saturn, and Sword. These four ships became the Trident subclass. All ships share the same design specifications of Essex longbow class ships (same design to the USS Oriskany of US navy). They are the Dreamlinersian Navy’s “jeep” carriers, mainly for their all around capabilities, reliability and usage. Most ships employed 8 General Electric LM2500 gas turbine engines in two pairs to the 4 propeller shafts. 6 more ships are under construction that will use new sensors, aircraft service facilities and new engines of hybrid design of both steam turbines by Westinghouse, AVION, and V12 diesel engines from Wartsila Sulzer. The DNS Kayla’s Revenge, the first of the newer modified Lexian class Aircraft carriers, will be set to launch in 3 years. Another 5 ships with these upgrades and modifications are to follow. Older ships will be put into the conversion program for either conversion into a troop ship, training ship, or conversion into a museum ship. However, with the original designs, the ship can have components either changed or modified to the navy’s needs of ships. The ships were designed to use interchangeable parts or upgraded parts and components for prolonged service. If new sensors or computers were needed, the old ones can be swapped out without altering the ship. The Dreamlinersian Navy currently has 24 ships in service, with the 6 under construction would bring the fleet to 30 ships total.

Design

This ship was designed to meet a need by the navy for an all-purpose jeep carrier in 1974. Several design bureaus in the nation had submitted designs of various shapes and sizes, some with armor, some without, some with nuclear reactors, some with diesel engines, some with boilers and some with hybrid engines. After months of debating with the Navy Board of Acquisitions, scale models were built to the designs and tested in a water simulation tank. After various tests, two designs were finalized and one was chosen. However the prototype ship sank in the harbor while fitting out. The navy needed a functional ship, and we looked to old designs and the Essex class carriers from the U.S. was finally chosen because its all around reliability. After procuring the designs and permission to modify the ships, construction began on the DNS Lexian almost immediately and 3 years later of nonstop work, she was launched. This ship would be the first of several more ships of various subclasses built for the Navy.

Propulsion

The DNS Lexian is propelled by 8 General Electric LM2500 Gas turbine engines in pairs of 2. Each engine pair would run one shaft leading to a five bladed propeller. Port side propellers would spin left, while starboard side propellers would spin right. That equalled out the propellers, preventing the ship from turning on a straight course. 6 ships were modified with turbo-electric transmission and are known as the Prejudice subclass. The Prejudice subclass had turboelectric transmission. Power was supplied by either steam turbines or gas turbines coupled with electrical generators leading to the motors attached to the propellers. The DNS Paradise used solar panels and is the only carrier to do so, but it severely hampered its speed due to insufficient power production to the engines so it has been retrofitted as a training carrier and has not seen combat. New engines are to be fitted onto the ship to greatly increase its speed.

Armor

The hull is mainly of a double skinned layout, with an exterior and an interior hull. The exterior hull has hull plating of 8 inches thick, to protect against small arms fire and most heavy artillery but nothing much else. The 4 inch space between hulls acts as a buffer zone and if necessary, can be filled with water.

Aircraft spaces

The ship has 4 catapults run by steam from either an onboard boiler below deck or from the reactors of the nuclear powered subclass. Aircraft vary from E-2 Hawkeye aircraft to the F/A 18 Hornet and every small fighter in between, ranging from the Grumman A-6 Intruders, F/A 18 Hornets, F-4 Phantoms, and S-3 Viking aircraft to older piston engined fighters, depending on specifications. Hangar space is below the flight deck and stretches most of the length of the ship ending where the hull narrows at the bow. With fully collapsed aircraft below decks, aircraft space is 60 planes total.

Armament

This ship can indeed defend itself and has done so before in tests and combat simultions. The class has an extensive weapons arsenal at its disposal. Most armament consists of missiles of varying types but the most plentiful is the Tomahawk missile. Other armament consists of various torpedos on surface tubes. There are also two 5”/54 caliber Mark 45 deck guns, one in front of the conning tower, one behind the conning tower. Ammunition is kept in several magazines throughout the ship. Aircraft munitions are kept in magazines below the flight deck, and the flight deck is armored to prevent bombs entering the hangar and penetrating below the hangar deck into the magazines. Defending fire is provided by 8 Phalanx CIWS guns stationed all over the ship. Two forward, four midship and two on the stern and provide areal defensive cover for enemy aircraft approaching the ship. With the ship's armament, she can travel in a battlegroup but if necessary, can travel alone.

Sensors

The ship has a vast array of sensors and is fitted with the AEGIS combat system for weapons and armament control. The various sensors for weapons are all over the ship and radars are atop the conning tower. The ship also uses passive navigational radar and passive sonar. The entire ship has rubber bushings on every single pipe clamp, engine mounting bracket and all of the machinery. If necessary the ship can be absolutely silent in stealth mode in enemy waters due to the rubber vibration bearings. The ship has missile defense systems rigged into the array of sensors. The ship is essentially more of a floating weapons platform than an aircraft carrier.
