TYPE 35 KAI - GUNTO

Type 35 Kai - Gunto is a navy sword used for both ceremonial purposes and chopping communists at close range combat, especially famous for it's bloody history during first Annamese war in late 1950s - where it earned fame of "red sword", as it was nicknamed due to amount of communist blood on it's blades, often being a result of fights between Kaigun Rikusentai and overzealous crowds jumping at the Nihonese marines with machetes.

Type 35 Kai - Gunto is very efficient sword, with 78 cm long blade, providing great cutting capacity. The entire blade is made out of stainless steel, with tsuka (handle) and saya (sheath) made out of traditional rayskin. This sword, manufactured by traditional methods can be with efficiency used not just for ceremonies, but also as excellent weapon of home defense.

TYPE 25 KAI - WAKIZASHI

Type 25 Tactical Wakizashi is, unlike Type 35 Kai - Gunto, pure efficiency weapon based on traditional Wakizashi from samurai times, but featuring plenty of modern technologies. With entire sword being 50cm long, with 31cm length of the blade itself, Type 25 Wakizashi works perfectly both as tool for fieldwork, and as efficient self - defense too. The blade was made with steel 5160, an efficient alloy that provides it with unspeakable durability, while the tsuka was made with highly efficient polymer (kraton).

TYPE 24 TACTICAL TANTO

Type 24 Tactical Tanto is a knife and bayonet from the empire of Greater Nihon, currently standard issue in Imperial Nihonese Army, Naval Special Landing Force and Imperial Guard. While looking more traditionally, the blade construction was made out of steel 5160. The blade itself is 31cm long, and can be perfectly fitted to Type 8 assault rifle.

RIKUSENTAI: STRIKE FORCES

Rikusentai: Strike Force is a realistic turn - based video game, developed by YukiCo from Nihon. It puts the player ad commander of small, company or battalion sized unit against realistic combat scenarios based on real military operations. The story is set in fictional war between SACTO and "COMINTERN" that happened in near future. From available sides, there are Kaigun Rikusentai (Naval Special Landing Force), Riysan Airborne units and Organized States Marine Corps (OSMC). From opposite side we have VDV Spetsnaz of USSR, Partisans of 6th French Republic and Alan KK of Asigna. Additionally few minor factions being paramilitary groups appear in the campaign mode, which features three major story arcs; invasion of Asigna by Nihon, joint operations of OSMC and Riysan Ariborne in defense of Turkey against Soviet invasion, and a campaign played from Alan KK side, one that caused many controversies due to enormous amount of scenes portraying war crimes of Alan KK included in it.

"Rikusentai" is turn based game, in which player gives his units orders in time between turns, and then passively watches his units execute given orders. High emphasis was placed on realism; units suffer if they are not delivered supplies, detection plays important role, during clicking player sees only what given unit sees etc. In addition, the game features a multiplayer mode, allowing players to play through Internet or LAN.

KAIGUN: RISING TSUNAMI

Kaigun: Rising Tsunami is another military simulator series developed by YukiCo, this time putting the player in command of naval groupings and focusing on naval / aerial operations. It allows the player to command entire fleets, watching the naval operations portrayed via symbols on map, as well as the action portrayed in form of 3D graphics. To his disposal, player gets entire set of ships, including carriers, nuclear submarines, as well as carrier and land based aviation and land based SAM systems. Game features an advanced database, being encyclopedia of modern equipment, each of them with realistic statistics.

The clashes are portrayed on map representing globe, from which the player can zoom in and out, or switch to 3D mode to enjoy the combat by himself. Such mechanism allows to quickly switch between micro and macro scale, thus "Kaigun" can offer as well lot in terms of both simulating command over a carrier group, or simulating huge operation of entire fleet. To successfully command the huge arsenal the game features an advanced interface based on principle "easy to learn, hard to master". Very intelligent AI is present in form of both intelligent subordinate commanders, who automatically realize player's goals on their respective levels, as well in form of smart enemies, utilizing every hole and mistake to inflect causalities.

"Kaigun" features series of both historical and hypothetical scenarios, including joint invasion of Federal Union of Guadalupador by combined Cuscatlani - New Yaman forces, Nihonese - Bayan war on the pacific, Organized States invasion of Cuba, defense of Riysa from attempted Ardokian invasion and Flardanian civil war scenario. An advanced editor allows for quickly adding new scenarios, with thousands of fan made ones already available for download.

KORYU - THE NIHONESE MARTIAL ARTS COURSE

Koryu Tai - Jutsu (literally: Old style Hand to hand Combat) is an unique martial art from Nihon, currently widely practiced among the various branches of the Imperial Nihonese Army. Originally a method of combat of Samurai from Chosokame clan, the art undergone a series of various modifications in early 1900s, when it became an unified style taught in almost entire Imperial Nihonese Army, with only special forces branches retaining their own traditions and practices due to their unique requirements. Not being a sport, Koryu Tai - Jutsu has only one goal - kill your opponent in as few movements as possible, and prevent him from doing any harm to you and your family, and build a strong warrior character of the practitioner. The battlefield nature of this art DOES NOT MAKE IT SUITABLE FOR SPORTS!

Basic of Koryu can be specified in one sentence - "counterattack". The founders of the art believed that a good system is one where a weaker person can easily defend against stronger one, using combination of strategy, body knowledge, timing and properly executed technique. An old principle of the art says "be like water - calm, flexible in defense and strong, merciless on the offense". On this principle a movement called tai sabaki was incorporated. Said movement allows the practitioner to move into blind spot of the opponent - getting off the way of his attack instead of standing on said way and blocking with strength, koryu practitioner evades the attack by moving into place where enemy can not reach him,and counterattacks with extreme brutality, striking every weak point of the enemy, killing him in as few movements as possible, which was made easy by knowledge of human body. Targets usually include: groin, kidney, back of the head, joints, temple, chin, solar plexus, throat, and other points which allow for quick disabling of the enemy.

The art developed several unique concepts such as three distances on which the fighting is carried. Classified as leg - weapon range, hand range and close range, the distances are ruled by their own laws of reaction. This concept serves to develop proper timing when developing one's evasion skills. For example in case when enemy launches a circular, powerful motion, the reaction should be to enter into it and prevent the strike from getting momentum. On the contrary, in case of straight punch, one should get off the line into the enemy's blind spot and counterattack from there.

Demonstrating a tai Sabaki

Koryu Tai - Jutsu is a primarily striking martial art; strikes can be delivered by variety of tools possessed by human body, which include head (headbutting is popular attack), elbows, hands, knees, legs, shoulders and many others. Very characteristic for this art is heavy use of the toraguchi, a tiger claw strike, used for instant strike & grab, often on the delicate body areas, like throat. What differs the Koryu from traditional martial arts is lack of typically found ceremonial training and emphasis on stances and heavy duty blocks - fighting is often done out of guard resembling one used in boxing, movements are short and circular to decrease the reaction time, blocks serve to redirect & destroy the attacking limb, hand trapping is used and emphasis is made on mobility in combat while retaining good protection. All kicks are to be launched from stable base at area below enemy's waist, to prevent the leg from being intercepted. When counterattacking, important role is put on "pendulum principle" - rapid side switch to generate momentum for a killing blow. One of classic unique strikes is a dual tiger claw strike to groin and throat areas at the same time.

Although mostly a strike based martial art, Koryu easily incorporates simple, but universal grappling techniques such as osotogari, tai otoshi, o goshi, various chokes such as rear naked choke and joint locks such as kote-gaeshi. As soldiers in combat can not allow themselves to be grounded by rampaging opponent, this art incorporates plenty of anti - grappling techniques with purpose of keeping the soldier on foot, and destroying his enemy. Likewise, the practitioners learn to easily operate any weaponry (knife, staff, sword, stick, gun, shovel etc.) based on movements from hand to hand combat.

Koryu does not teach any mysticism, spirituality, attempts to gather unidentified "energies", nor do the practitioners practice anything related to the supernatural. It is however in belief of Koryu founders that due to reality of war, a mental code of honor that would act as counter - balance to corruption that war does to human soul is needed. This code is based on Nihonese bushido and incorporates the seven values into training, in order to provide a proper basis of character for use of learned techniques. Alongside with this training comes the kokoro - jutsu, being a teaching of strategy and combat psychology, allowing the practitioner to apply proper strategy to a fight and attack enemy's mind, if possible winning the combat before it even begins.

Shisa (Nif. シーサー ), also known by it's scientific name of Panthera Nifonae is a name of a big domesticated felinid from Nifon. Originally inhabiting mountainous areas of various Nifonese provinces such as Sai or Ōtama, Shisa have been terror of the farmer populations ever since Nifon was settled. According to the legends, the man who domesticated the first Shisa was Admiral Yi Ni Fon himself - after killing an enormous female, Admiral Yi took her cubs and risen them on his own. Scientific sources estimate domestication of this majestic predator at 3rd century BC, during the kingdoms era. Offered for sale is most common race of Shisa, Panthera Nifonae Orientalis. Modern geneticists have estimated that the species is a distant cousin of lion.

Shisa can be easily put among largest of living felinids, with average adult male being between 220 centimeters to 250 centimeters in length, between 110 centimeters to 130 centimeters tall, and weighting between 200kg to 350kg, with females reaching far smaller size and weight than males. Usual color of this mighty cat's pelage varies between brown to dark red coupled with a series of lighter spots on it's majestic mane. Usual summer and winter coat differs with set of colors, with the winter coat being paler and summer coat possessing brighter colors. Both males and females posses a mane at their back, however in case of females the mane is visibly shorter. Large, wide skull resembling that of a lion features a pair of short, extended, saber - like teeth, which, when coupled with muscular build of the main body, give Shisa a majestic and terrifying look.

Although all but extinct in their wild state due to conflict with humans, Shisa live in social structures called prides, composed of between 5 to 10 cats, with males tasking themselves with defending the territory, and females providing the group with food by hunting. This led to their domestication by humans, whom they simply consider other members of their pack, and subsequent training for multiple tasks; such as hunting or personal defense. Pantera Nifonae are extremely intelligent, capable of remembering details (such as how uniforms of friendly force look like). When forced to fight, Shisa will never retreat and continue mauling the enemy even when severely wounded, and when attacking human will instinctively attack groin area first. Excellent sense of smell and hearing allows them to be trained for additional tasks, such as hunting narcotics or landmines. Instinct that makes them bring their prey alive for their pack to kill can be also exploited for protection purposes by teaching the cat to merely damage eventual trespasser and bring him alive - although risk of serious damage always exists with animal of this size.

Although, due to centuries of domestication, Shisa are usually very loyal to their owners and long ago stopped seeing humans as food, this is not animal for everybody. It still can be very dangerous due to it's sheer size and strength, thus requiring firm and constant training since it is cub to quell natural aggression. The owner must since he owns the animal display position of the pack leader and educate the cat about it's behaviour. In addition to that, Pantera Nifonae requires large and open space. Thus, this species is most recommended for those who need an additional protection, for those cats can perform this role like few other animals. In addition it is good to provide them socialization with other of their species or domestic animals.

In Nifon Shisa have profound cultural significance due to their position as companions of the samurai; in the ancient times, owning those mighty cats was restricted to that class. Many poets praised them as animal personifications of Bushido. Shogun Kojiro owns 3 Shisas, named Meiyo (honor), Rei (respect) and Chūgi (loyalty) which he takes everywhere as part of his personal security detail because "they can not be bribed". In traditional Nifonese culture Shisa is also believed to be a mortal enemy of the dragon. The animal is also often used as a national personification of Nifon akin to how bear represents Russia.
