Overview

Mars Subyards is a underwater dockyard that creates some of the world’s most advanced underwater craft. The subyards were constructed as a follow up to the Aries Subyards. These new subyards are the largest underwater facility currently in the UEO. Its enormous dockyards are responsible for producing the largest vessels currently in service with the UEO. The knowledge and the mistakes made in the Aries subyards were moved over to this facility to ensure the products are the best possible. The dockyards use 3D printing technology to create stronger craft at a fraction of the time. On site munitions depots and bioskin labs allow for easy installation of all tech the UEO currently has to offer.

This subyard has built over 400 vessels in the time it has been operating purely for the UEO Navy and over 300 vessels for the international community. Through the time these vessels have been in service the reach and abilities of the UEO have risen above everything they had been previously. The Mars Subyards delivers vessels of both Quality and quantity to any navy in the world who wishes to have a truly unique and powerful array of vessels in their arsenal.

What makes Mars Different?

Technology

Mars produced submersibles use the most advanced underwater technology in the world increasing their abilities over other subs. Their integrated computer systems also makes them easy to control as well as to fix problems on the ship if they occur in battle. The most unique feature, bioskin, acts as a shield to both the dangers of warfare and the sheer force of ocean pressure. All UEO subs have an MT and a PMT varient, so they are able to participate in both forms of RP.

Innovation

The UEO greatest minds have been designing subs for years and now all of those genius are under one roof. Mars offers some of the most unique and effective solutions for problems on a submarine from advanced fire fighting systems and damage control to full time communications with command structure at up to 5,000 feet beneath the waves. All UEO craft are built with one specific goal in mind whether it be speed for one and fire power for another, even a few walk the fine line that is a balanced warship. Any vessel built by Mars is bound to suit your needs one way or another.

Unique

UEO vessel's design is unique, with their bioskin and streamline design no other modern day or PMT submersible looks like them. They are a one of a kind underwater vehicles from the humble attack subs to the massive battlecruiser. The crown of the UEO is their Deep Submergence Vehicles or DSVs. These enormous vessels serve as the pinnacle of UEO tech and innovation, being unique themselves among a group of vessels that already are astounding on their own.

Vessels

The following is the list of the vessels that are built by the Mars Subyards. Each of the vessels has its ups and its down, with each one bringing something new to the table. The bottom of this post goes over all the additional equipment, upgrades, and limitations of the vessels so please look at it before you make a purchase. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the UEO and ask them.

VARIENTS

Nuclear
The highest standard of submersible technology, the nuclear option is found in navies with large levels of funding. The powerful reactors in these vessels require little to no refueling and are only limited in range by the food they carry. These vessels are perfect for long expeditions or blue water operations able to stay beneath the depths of the ocean for months at a time. However, nuclear power has its downsides. There is always the risk of having a reactor meltdown such as the Soviet Submarine K-19 did during the cold war. It also makes it more difficult to hide the sub's energy signature and sound made by the reactor. Still stealthy this type of power is recommended for any long distance missions.

Diesel Electric
The classic power source of submarines, diesel has been kept alive in the nuclear era due to its overall cost and maintenance. Where you need specially trained men to operate a nuclear reactor the normal motor requires far less training and is much easier to fix if broken. They are also much quieter then their nuclear counterparts as it is easier to put sound concealing material around a comparatively small diesel engine. The downside to this power type is that there is a constant need for fuel, setting the range of these classes to coastal most of the time. They also need to surface rather frequently due to the diesel engine's exhaust. The most obvious downside is the lack of a surplus of power, leading to a reduction in technologies and weapons available. The combination of limited range and quieter hunting makes them perfect for local defense or scouting operations.

Air Independent Propulsion
The newest type of propulsion to enter the underwater world is Air Independent Propulsion or AIP. AIP is basically a modified diesel engine that is far quieter then the conventional variant to the point that a Swedish AIP operated submarine was able to sink over a dozen vessels and damage the flagship of a US Carrier group without even begin detected in 2008. This new engine is a tad more expensive then diesel but it makes up for it with about double the normal submergence time of diesel vessels. However, due to this the overall power supply of the craft is reduced, like diesel, making it carry less weapons then a nuclear powered sub and a little slower then a diesel powered one. These craft are good for medium range missions or interceptions of enemy convoys.

Each Vessel has both PMT and MT variants with the exception of a select few.

Vessel Advantages

Hull Integrity and Damage Control
The biggest worry on a submersible is implosion. The UEO solves this problem by creating a lightweight and extremely durable hull design that is cost effective. The hull is double plated followed by a second hull surrounding the craft. Both of these hulls are made of Rolled Carbon-Titanium Alloy built by a 3D printer. These printed three layers thick alternating hexagonal plates, creating both a strong an interlocking hull design. The combination of the design, architecture, and material of the hull leads to a strong, reliable, and resistant hull design. The cost from these materials and designs does not increase the overall price due to the fact that 3D printers drastically reduce work time and the need for manual labor. However, in the case that the hull is breached every craft has an advanced damage control system that automatically seals the breached area(s) within seconds of the impact. While some of the smaller subs still will implode from one or two torpedoes the larger vessels can take a great deal of fire and still remain in the fight.

Speed
Most submersibles cannot go fast then a speed of 30 knots. UEO vessels are further- heavier the most submarines, but using cavitation engines and aqua-return drives they can still compete with the speeds of traditional subs. This speed also allows them to avoid faster surface based vessels that normally can outpace the slow submarines. The vessels also still have normal propulsion systems to run silent and sneak past enemy lines using stealth, the deadliest weapon of a submarine.

Detection
The worst sound for a sub to hear is the ping of sonar against the hull. Sonar and cheap sonar buoys found on helicopters can make a multi billion dollar sub into a wreck when worked in tangent with surface vessels. Mars counters this with one of the oldest technologies known to mankind: ceramics. The Subyards has molds that they pour melted materials into to form Anechoic plates which are then attached to the hull of the vessel. This method is quick and cheap, making it easy to mass produce for our submersibles. For this reason all Mars vessels are fully coated in these plates stem to stern. Further the layer between the double hull of the vessel is filled with insulator. this is to keep the noise from inside the sub from reaching the outside world and giving away the subs location. The insulation also acts as a sealant for leaks should any arise. Lastly the ships have deployable covers on their cavitation drives, concealing the noise made by the device.

Front Line Warships
The biggest problem with submersibles is that they cannot be used in any way other then in first strike scenarios, long range missile attacks, special operations, and vessel interception. None of these are front line duties and Mars seeks to change that. Mars submarines are meant to be in the thick of it with enhanced weapons fire control systems and a slew of intercepts and ECM installations to entire the ship can intercept mines, depth charges, and torpedoes. This when combined with the armored hull created a durable and powerful warship able to keep pace with the fleet and maneuver around enemy vessels. The fire control ensures if a hit is taken that it can be controlled and contained. Most Mars subs are completely combat effective anywhere above 500 feet, meaning that any weapons send against them here are likely to be intercepted. From that depth range and higher implosion is also not an issue so the threat of that is reduced as well. All of these factors contribute to a new class of submersible, one capable of fighting in tangent with a surface fleet or being the front themselves.

360 Visuals - 87 Million NSD
All UEO bridges, CIC's, and subfigher cockpits are now being modified with a 'dome' or 'sphere' visual display. The displays are fed data directly from SEAWACS, hypersonar, SSI Torpedoes, and National Command and displays them on the walls of the sphere/dome via a LED display, allowing personnel a full time 360 degree view of the sea around them up to 2.3 miles. No more navigating by sonar and maps and no more guesses as to where something is. The technology is already being implement on the newest UEO vessels and cannot be installed on vessels smaller then cruisers currently.

Upgrades
The Following is a list of upgrades that can be applied to submersibles constructed at the Mars Subyards, none of this technology can be placed on conventional submarines. Upgrades take about a month (3 days NS time) to install on vessels so they must be either sent back to the subyard or ordered with the upgrades installed. The prices below cover adding the full system, meaning all torpedo tubes and missile silos are converted at that price regardless of ship size for example.

NEWS

The subyards has had a MASSIVE overhaul under the VESSELS section. This new style is going to be implemented into the entirety of the subyards and will be the standard for now on. With this update comes a few things including PMT and MT vessel designs, more vessel details, a new munition, and the initial set up for the Create Your Own Vessel section (still not up and running, working on it!)

There will be a few more updates in the next couple days and by the end of the week the subyards will be fully converted to this new style. There also may be a new Vessel if I have time to make one as that was the vote in the poll. The poll is going to be extended until Friday. A few of the vessels are not completed yet, so please bear with me while I finish writing all the details.

Greetings from the Victory Corporation.

We in the Victory Corporation have recently taken notice that our underwater navy is in a poor state of affairs. With only a single attack submarine, which even that is not up to par with other nation's, our surface ships are extremely vulnerable to attacks from submarines. Hence, I am writing this message to you as the first part of an order, which is likely to include at least two DPRs and, depending on the level of clearance we receive, an extensive order of those units we are not acquiring Domestic Production Rights for.

However, while my friends in the economics department draw up the necessary funds and liaison with my coworkers over what to buy, I am writing this message to you today asking that you at Mars Subyards perform the necessary background checks of the Victory Corporation in advance of our order. While to my knowledge we have no prior history with the UEO, and hence are hopefully not blacklisted from purchasing even level one products, my colleagues are wondering whether we, with our slightly ambiguous national ideology which some may interpret as a form of dictatorship, but if so, would certainly be a rather nice dictatorship to live in, are restricted to level two products or may rise above to level three products.

Many of your more advanced items here at Mars Subyards are of the third level of restriction, and hence we may have an unfortunate inability to purchase said products when our navies are so desperately in need of such power beneath the waves. While of course we will accept whatever level of restriction you deem necessary to protect your nation and its allies, we in the Victory Corporation hope that you will see our need and allow us access to the level 3 restriction items here.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us through more direct means.

After the end of the week the poll showed that you want Facilities offered from Mars, so wish granted! Greetings from the Victory Corporation.

After much deliberation, we in the Victory Corporation have completed the necessary requirements to purchase things here at Mars Subyards. We were also pleased to notice that you have made available to us facilities that can be constructed within our borders to expedite and enhance our navy for the future. Attached is our order.

While it saddens us to be unable to purchase level 3 restricted products, our navy will not require them. Between the various submersibles we are purchasing DPRs for as well as designs we will be able to construct on our own in the future, we are sure that all our needs will be fulfilled.

We realize that making this purchase does strain our budget, but does not go over it by any margin. Be assured that the Victory Corporation has, at present, the sum of approximately 2$ trillion allocated to acquiring new military hardware and software as well as upgrading old hardware. Our navy is one of the four essential fields of warfare, and slacking off on it just like any of the others could lead to our destruction, hence we can and are willing to pay the rather large sum to ensure ongoing defense of our nation.
