The Zeus Maritime Industries Legionnaire-Class Fast Missile Craft is a small warship primarily designed for naval combat against larger ships and littoral combat. Despite its displacement of about 500 tons, the Legionnaire-Class is capable of defending itself against aerial threats, making it a very capable ship in terms of naval warfare. Dating back to the Next-Generation Coastal Defense Combatant (NGCDC) program of the Greater Eastern Imperium Navy, the Legionnaire-Class incorporates strong armament and high survivability with speed, stealth and yet compact size.
Fitted with RGM-501 'Thor' anti-ship missiles as its primary anti-ship weapon, the Legionnaire-Class is capable of fighting against larger ships that dare to challenge one's waters, and, with numerical advantages, even take on a carrier strike force. In addition, it is armed with a 76 mm rapid fire gun in case it faces a situation requiring naval guns. In order to defend itself against incoming aerial threats, it can be equipped with short-range anti-air missiles and even a CIWS, which, in some cases, can even add up on anti-surface warfare.
Since one of the criteria for the Next-Generation Coastal Defense Combatant (NGCDC) program required high survivability, speed and stealth, the Legionnaire-Class is a master of speed and stealth against the enemy. Using waterjet propulsion, it can accelerate to speeds up to 45 knots per hour, making rapid combat entry and exeunt possible. Furthermore, stealth characteristics have been seriously considered: as a result, its radar cross-section (RCS) is about the size of a fishing boat. With both speed and stealth coupled with superior armament, the Legionnaire-Class is engineered to be a survivable craft in naval warfare.
