History
Founded in 1983, Tannie Jolene's is the premier selection of Rookanse cuisine on the international market. The company was founded by Ithu Xhosa, who was inspired by the delicious cooking of his tannie, Afrikaans for aunt, Jolene Xhosa. Jolene herself was born in the days of when black Rookansians were systematically discriminated against by the government. Eventually, however, in the early 80's, the discrimination ended. Before that, Jolene's only escape from her harsh world was cooking. Ithu fondly remembers his aunt's cooking and decided to take love and soul and bring it into the rest of the world. Frozen food has gone a long way from when it first started. By 1986, Tannie Jolene's became a recognizable brand in Rookanse. Fannie Jolene's Frozen Food is a mix of both white and black Rookanisian cuisine. Ithu now brought his sights to the rest of the globe, and packaged meals began to enter other countries by 2010. Now, with more funding than ever, Ithu is ready to bring his company fully into people's hearts, and stomaches, around the globe

Beginning in the 2000's, Tannie Jolene's switched to only selling all-natural ingredients. Over the years, we have become pesticide free and we have become gluten free! We at Tannie Jolene's are committed to bringing you some of the most recognizable and fresh cuisine from our native Rookanse. We choose recipe's that Jolene herself made, and refined them using only the best ingredients and procedures for your individually packaged meal. We are ever expanding, and cannot wait to see where the future will take us and Ithu Xhosa's ideas!
