Porthos International Airport is Arcticair's main hub in the Free Democratic Republic of Aboveland. It's a huge airport located east of the city, with runways facing the sea.

Construction began in February 2014, and as a small regional airport for the surrounding cities. However, following the Abovian War, it was converted into an international airport, to serve the new capital city of Porthos. It contains a total of 228 gates in 5 terminals: Domestic, Short Haul, Med. Haul, Long Haul and Arcticair exclusive (S-M-L haul).

Due to the density of gates, spread on both sides of the terminal buildings, the airport couldn't be built to the sides; it was built up. The terminals contain a total of 4 floors: floor 1 (ground level) contains the gates and the seats for waiting. floor 2 contains the food courts, floor 3 contains miscellaneous shops and floor 4 contains the duty free and observation decks. Since the building sides and roof are made of extra resistant glass, travelers will be able to see the aircraft landing, taking off, taxiing and parking from anywhere and at anytime.

Porthos International Airport is vast, for which reason amenities and services are extremely important. POI contains Crosslinks: small trains that link terminals to terminals through the taxiways. The Crosslinks travel at ground height, stop under the terminals in small stations and drop people off.

Currently, there are a total of 30 lounges spread about the five terminals (excluding the three in terminal 5). Also, in terminals 3, 4 and 5 are showers. The airport hotel is situated to the east of terminal 4, a mere one minute walk away, facing the sea. Rooms facing the sea, the gates and the city are all available.

There are a total of 500 available check-in desks.

As far as cooking is concerned, if kitchens are too big, they will be situated under the first floor with natural light coming in from windows. If the kitchens are small enough, however, they can be included next to the shops (Ex: A coffee company could have their brewers attached to the counters, whilst a restaurant with a bigger necessity for a kitchen would have it situated under floor 1. Keep in mind that the food courts are on floor 2, so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle delivering food. Special elevators are placed between escalators to ease the delivery).

Aethra welcomes Porthos International Airport to be the next destination as part of our 2015 flight programme. Recently, many Astyrians have expressed their desire to get more access to Aboveland, as well as the surrounding region of Nordic Lands. We feel that Porthos is a decent option in providing a highly-demanded link.

The proposal would be to introduce three daily flights from Antebellum International Airport (UPL) in Upland, Cez-Zaeri as the first part, followed by two daily flights to another hub for Aethra, Libetta Capital International Airport (LLI) in Libetta Town, Libettan Territory. We do hope that the two parties can reach an agreement.
