The Nomad's Press (Under Revamp)

THE NOMAD'S PRESS
Working with literature since 1911

Image

Run by the organization Nomadic Peoples of Numadsh (NPN), The Nomad's Press is the antique publishing branch of the group. The Nomad's Press has been publishing and archiving virtually every form of literature it has ever encountered or it has been offered. It serves the group in their intellectual interests and also in their study of history, science and writing.

Though having no mainland or homeland, the NPN maintains The Nomad's Press Headquarters in a small piece of land in France, Normandy. It also maintains several branches around the world as a book club. Being wealthy, the group keeps healthy funding and in turn gains valuable knowledge from what its press branch gains.

HISTORY

Image
A photo taken in the old headquarters

The NPN's roots trace back to the 1900s or before the 20th century. Its founder who goes by the initials G.G. was a scholar, and with professors and other learned people were believed to have created the NPN. The original intent of its foundation is lost even to its scholars.

Nevertheless, one of the group's hobbies was gathering and passing on their learnings. They held debates, contemplated their theories and overall held casual chats now and then. Through this hobby, the group wrote down their knowledge, and these were kept in an archive usually located in the group's master's house (or otherwise in a volunteer's house).

Eventually, this archive grew and grew and like a sponge absorbed even the tiniest bits of literature from one liner notes to the thickest encyclopedias of the time. The group which was then composed of only a hundred members would eventually hold an archive, and The Nomad's Press was created. At first though, it was "The Nomadic Archives".

During the 1930's, most of the group migrated from Europe to America. Arriving in the time of the Great Depression, they gave their knowledge and archives up for a price. Eventually, they would earn their money by publishing books and running a library-like system were they lent need literature for a said amount of time.

The Nomad's Press would eventually replace the old name of "The Nomadic Archive." By then after World War II, the group grew to about 400,000 people. During the cold war, several publisher-branches were set up around Europe and America. During this era, the NPN wasn't known, or if it was heard, was not recognized. It was only known as the runner of The Nomad's Press.

Eventually, libraries and bookstores would spring up alongside the publisher-branches. The Nomad's Press would print materials like children's book to propaganda posters.

It was in the 1990s that the golden age of the NPN began. Sales were high, and its population reached a million at its peak. Celebrations were held and the NPN was one of the wealthiest groups in the world. In the same decade, the NPN would be recognized by several countries, including the new Russian Federation.

Today it continues to publish, archive and sell its knowledge. The Nomad's Press is now offering its services to your nation.

The NPN is a rich intellectual organization. Its past intentions are virtually unknown, even to its masters and members. Today it is run like a "homeless" government with its people. Its members are equal in their rights like a democracy, and are run under a "governing branch". The current master of the group is Master Berry Punlee with his wife in his side to help the group.

Members are usually referred to as "Nomads" or "Numadshean", although eight out of ten of the population prefer to be called nomads. Despite being labelled nomads, members are not really homeless, but are usually citizens in other nations. Members are called nomads since they treat their group like a nation without a homeland.

NPN members or "Nomads" are usually scholarly, or have a degree of high intellect . 90% of Nomads are rich because of their group's currency, the Golden Gem. Golden Gems are real gems coated in thin gold paint. This currency is used in funding the group's (usually knowledge-related) interests like research expeditions, inventions based on theories or their book industry.

Golden Gems are also used to fund the group's non-intellectual interests like a group or corporation they deem worthy. Usually humanitarian, charity, or corporations like defense industries, or just good coffee companies receive funds. However, Golden Gems are forbidden to be passed on to non-members in most instances. Golden Gems are exchanged in the organization's foreign exchange branch or through trusted outside sources.

The NPN are not hostile contrary to some nation's beliefs. However they do have some connections with underground sources, or even the most secluded groups. Some NPN members have been known for smuggling arms from North Korea, while others were caught smuggling information from the USSR. The whereabouts of these members are currently unknown (and as of now, current NPN members never do anything of the sort). The group also has its armed branch. Since its population is made mostly of grown people, about 80% are trained in combat, or at least in wielding a weapon.

The NPN usually recruits its members. The process of how to join the Nomadic People's of Numadsh is classified as of now.

PUBLISHING

Image

Chances are you're someone who stumbled this site and are interested. Interested because if you weren't so curious, you wouldn't be reading until here. Or maybe you're a very fast reader, which means you've done lots of reading and therefore could be a book lover (OR maybe you just skipped here). Maybe you love libraries? Or maybe you are a famous novel writer? Or just a famous person making his latest trends famous? Or individuals who wants to publish their ideas, theories or their poems.

Well, no matter what you are, as long as you need a book (or any other form of literature) published, you can get all that here!

All you have to do is request for a publication of your literature. Below is the submission form:

Code: Select all
[box]

PUBLISHING FORM
The Nomad's Press

[blocktext]Nation of Origin:

What are you? Government ( ), Group ( ), Individual ( ), Other ( )

Please state what you are if "Other" is ticked:

Title of Book/Literary Work:

Genre:

Number of pages:

Do you wish for your work to be copyrighted?

Will you publish it digitally or physically?

Will you allow us to add a copy to our archives for intellectual purposes?

Will you be selling your work?

Proposed Quantity of Initial Copies:

Please sign or write your name here (group name, head of government, individual, etc.):

Return address or email (notes and the finished product may be sent here):

Notes or Requests: [/blocktext]

[/box]

POLICIES

    1. We will not publish works of literature with excessive graphic content included.
    2. We will not publish works of literature with any pornographic content included.
    3. We will publish propaganda unless deemed very offensive to other individuals, groups, or other nations.
    4. Published content shall be added to our archives for good intentions only.
    5. We are not liable or responsible for any published works or their deeds and products.
    6. For every literary work (i.e two novels, or 10 varied posters) please submit a separate application for each.

Application Forms are forwarded to our press headquarters in the notable town of Normandy, France (or to our email, NomadPress@NPN.com in the case of a digital publishing). The applications are processed by our "master publishers." (Master publishers are experienced scholars who have spent most of their lives with books). If it should be dignified, a note shall be sent to its sender. The work of literature in question would take a week at most in publishing. Once it is done, it will be copied and added to our archives for "knowledge keeping" unless the sender says otherwise.

Publishing is done in the headquarters. Sometimes, drafts are sent to other branches when the headquarter's hands are full. These other branches execute a similar process, than send it back to the headquarters once the task is accomplished. For digital publishing, publishing time is cut by approximately 95% with costs being only 1% of the physical process. Because of new cutting edge technology, The Nomad's Press can publish e-books with a click of a button. Despite this, the digital publishing process still takes days (these days are usually attributed to a manual review of the literary form, but it also depends on the content and the quantity of pages).

Once publishing is done and the sender receives his finished products, copies of the book are manufactured physically or digitally and sold in branches worldwide and in our website (www.TheNomadsPress.com.NPN). Golden Gems fund the creation, manufacturing and sales of these literary works.

ARCHIVES

Image

Our archives are arguably one of the largest in the world. Most of their content are kept in the headquarters, while the rest are distributed equally around branches. These archives include ancient scripts (or copies of them), historic accounts, literary records, war letters, significant letters, treaties and the like. Also included are novels, books, poems, posts, flyers, pamphlets, photo books, audiobooks, old videos, fables, tablets, paintings, drawings, art of many kinds, receipts, and more. Archives are usually physical, but since the use of computers, information has been converted and stored in the group's own database (or in external hard drives that are kept in the physical archives). With a large collection of material, we can satisfy your need for knowledge!

Materials could be used for research, projects, schoolwork, business, or just plain interest. Archive materials usually have 10 or more copies to ensure that individuals or organizations looking for an identical book do not have to take turns. Archive materials are donated or collected through various means.

To request for a literary work or other, one must use the application below:

Being a secure organization, we can assure you that submitted materials will be in good hands. Our group is dedicated to its will, and its will is to guard archive material against any threats, abuses or misuse. Submitted matter are picked up by our members and handled with great care. These materials are converted to data, then placed in our physical archive. Material of high importance are only handled by time-tested, loyal and trustworthy members and its vaults of secrets (holding only documents of vitality) are kept hidden to the outside world.

Important data are encrypted, then the encrypted form is further encrypted and hidden in the database of the deep web. Otherwise, sensitive data are placed in external hard drives, and these are put with one of the secret vaults of the group that contains physical material. Other than that we have fail-safe systems and tips. For instance: If data is corrupted, we have backups. For extremely vital documents, we can implant trackers and "self destruct chips" that can wipe clean the data if it is stolen (then we can restore the data from our digital backup archives).

BOOKSTORES

Image
Inside the largest NPN bookstore

The Nomad's Press has about 300 branches worldwide as of now (100 bookstores, 75 publishers, 125 publisher bookstores). Bookstores usually double as a library/archive holder and sell hundreds to thousands of material every year. Sales include videos (DVDs), audio recordings (audiobooks), scrap writings and drafts, old diaries, new and old video games, toys, and records.

Books that are sold range from thick novels to small comics. Encyclopedias, biographies, fiction and non-fiction, cook books, dictionaries, art books, coloring books, notebooks, sketchbooks, guidebooks, storybooks, and more are made available each week.

The Nomad's Press prioritizes knowledge and contentment in its branches. Books that are frequently needed are placed in convenient spaces and easily accessible spots while those that are not so frequently pondered upon are placed until needed or wanted. Furniture such as tables, chairs and even couches are placed for the convenience of those who want to read or who are waiting on their company to finish browsing the large collection of books.

Typically, oak or other wooden chairs fitted with cushions (to make occupants comfortable) are used. Good reliable oak tables accompany the chairs with a desk lamp and wifi. Upon request, club chairs or chaise lounges can be employed for small or luxurious branches. TV screens, and even telescopes have been known to be added. Bean bags have also been a popular request. Nations or groups can customize their branches as they desire.

Newly printed books are made out of at least 90% recycled material. When The Nomad's Press copies literary forms, reprocessed paper is used for the copies. Some literary forms are even copied into tablets as separate files to prevent paper usage. Excess paper is collected and recycled by the group itself. Being a group working with paper for quite a long time, the NPN has its own recycling plants. Here it is soaked thoroughly (but carefully to ensure that the paper wont completely dissolve), cleared of stains and dirt, then repressed and left to dry. Then it comes out in abundant rolls just like new. After this simple process, the paper is shipped back to bookstore branches.

Wooden furniture, especially bookshelves are also crafted by the group itself, otherwise taken from trusted sources. Wooden furniture are made out of recycled timber. Though recycled, The Nomad's Press makes sure that furniture is strong and sturdy. Alternatives for indoor cooling are also applied. Depending on locations, branches use either heat insulation or geothermal pumps. Ice cooling methods are applied to larger bookstores.

In transporting materials, Nomads usually go green by using alternative fuels like biodiesel fuels (when using their vehicles). Otherwise, the group employs alternatives such as hybrid electric-biodiesoline trucks or even airships. For physical archive materials (books, DVDs or the like) bikes or electric motorcycles are used to deliver requested material. If requested locations are abroad, material are sent by ship. However, a digital copy of requested material can simply be sent to the email of the individual or groups who need it.

As technology rapidly progresses, our archives are slowly being phased with virtual ones, with new physical material being inputed in computers to save paper. Our group is aware of the impact of too much paper usage to the environment and strives for the best solutions. As of now, the group has successfully converted half of its archives to virtual material that cost 0% paper and 0% wood, additionally making it free and easy to copy anywhere, at anytime. In an instant, books can be bought and sent in a flash.

If your nation desires to have a branch within its cities (or towns), all that is needed is that you accomplish the application below.

HM Foreign Investment Council Invitation

Postby Yohannes » Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:12 pm

Te Whanganui-a-Tara (English: Wellington) is the capital city and one of the four constituent countries of Yohannes. With nearly a quarter of Yohannes' total population residing within its greater metropolitan area, it is the most populous city, urban area, and state of the kingdom.

Located in the northern coast of the nation, facing the Maredoratic continent of Alisna to the north, the capital city is naturally also the economic centre of Yohannes. The city-state is home to two of our kingdom's most well-known businesses: the Bank of Yohannes and Royal Beaufort Shipwrights Guild, ensuring the city's position as a multiregional financial & banking as well as thriving shipbuilding and engineering centre. It is also home to multiple branches of some of the most well-known GE&T index-listed foreign multinational companies operating throughout the kingdom, such as CuppaCoffee and VLT.

As the governing body of the city and state, hereby our Chamber of Commerce - in full representation of the amalgamated Te Whanganui-a-Tara City & Regional [Supercity] Council and Te Whanganui-a-Tara Chamber of Commerce - would like to invite Nomad's Press to expand - open its businesses, services and bookstores - in the capital city of Yohannes.

  • Are nomads allowed to become citizens of your nation? No, only permanent residency will be granted, as according to our Amended Citizenship & Residency Act
