RadSat AG
Global Satellite Communications Solutions - Connecting the World
WHO WE ARE
RadSat AG is a business consortium founded to own and operate the RadSat constellation of geostationary satellites. RadSat's owners include Royal Radictistan Telecom, the Radictistani state telecom company, the Radictistani cable television provider Westlink, and more than half a dozen other private companies. RadSat combines the financial stability inherent in government ownership with the dynamism of private enterprise. There are four operational RadSat satellites. RadSat-1 and RadSat-2 serve the home Apathian market. RadSat-3 serves Greater Dienstad.
OUR SERVICES
Direct-broadcast satellite
The RadSat-1, RadSat-3, and RadSat-4 satellites are equipped to provide satellite television broadcasts direct to people’s homes either encrypted or free-to-air. With both Ku- and C-band transponders RadSat can offer its customers crystal clear reception no matter what climate. Standard definition broadcasts are presented in widescreen 1024x576 DVB-S. For high definition content all RadSat DBS satellites support the DVB-S2 standard for a pristine moving image with minimum bandwidth usage.
International telephony
While undersea fiber-optic cables have revolutionized international communications, they are difficult and expensive to deploy across the widest oceans. Satellite telephony by RadSat is timely and cost-effective. In addition to their use for television broadcast, the RadSat-1, RadSat-3, and RadSat-4 satellites can connect public switched telephone networks (PSTN) together across continents and oceans. RadSat customers can lease either an entire or half transponder. A full transponder can service over 11,000 telephone calls simultaneously. A RadSat earth station staffed by qualified RadSat technicians will help your telephone network remain relevant in the fast-changing world of telecommunications. Priority for full-transponder reservations will be given to large nations with corresponding telecommunications needs.
GMDSS
The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is a series of procedures, protocols, and devices which enhance the safety of transoceanic travel. The RadSat-2 satellite provides 24/7 monitoring of emissions from 406 MHz distress radiobeacons within a region centered around the continent of Apathia. This is a free public service.
