Schaeffer Aeronautics, Civil and Military Aircraft

Postby Grays Harbor » Fri Dec 04, 2009 12:07 am

For the military on a budget, Schaeffer Aeronautics has produced the SCE47 Echo, a twin prop AEW aircraft, available for nearly a third of what the larger commercial jetliner sized AEW aircraft cost. A useful feature of this aircraft is that it can also be used to carry up to 19 passengers when not in use as an AEW aircraft. The aircraft is also availble in pure transport configuration without any of the AEW electronics or the wedge installed as the SC45 Carlisle

The FVT31 Rabbit Enhanced Fighter Maneuverability program was designed to incorporate fighter thrust vectoring technology. Thrust vectoring allows the FVT31 to fly in a direction other than where the nose is pointing, resulting in significantly more maneuverability than most conventional fighters. An advanced flight control system provides controlled flight at high angles of attack where conventional aircraft would stall. Four under wing hard points allow for the carrying of Air to Air and Air to Ground Missiles controlled by onboard targeting systems. One internal 20mm cannon with 250 rds can also be fitted.

This is not an inexpensive aircraft, but the maneuverability and ability to operate from short runways more than offsets the costs.

Cost: NS$148,000,000 each

(note - The Ministry of Defense must approve all foreign sales of military combat aircraft)

TB61 Tactical Bomber and Interdiction

Image

General characteristics
· Crew: Two
· Length: 15.57 m (51 ft 1 in)
· Wingspan: 15.10 m (49 ft 6.5 in)
· Height: 4.94 m (16 ft 2.5 in)
· Wing area: 45 m² (484 ft²)
· Empty weight: 10,000 kg (22,000 lb)
· Loaded weight: 17,500 kg (38,600 lb)
· Max takeoff weight: 21,000 kg (46,300 lb)
· Powerplant: 2× 101E-3 turbojets, 34.3 kN (7,710 lbf)) each
Performance
· Maximum speed: Mach 0.9, 1,100 km/h (687 mph) at sea level
· Range: 5,400 km (3,375 mi)
· Service ceiling: 15,200 m (50,000 ft)
· Rate of climb: 60 m/s (11,820 ft/min)
· Wing loading: 403 kg/m² (82.6 lb/ft²)
· Thrust/weight: 0.4
Armament
· 4x 30mm cannons with 100 rounds per gun (Mark VI Only)
· Internal weapons bay for maximum of 2,725 kg (6,000 lb) of bombs (typically six 450 kg (1,000 lb) bombs), pack of 116x 68 mm (2.7 in) rockets, camera pack, or two 1,500 liter (400 U.S. gal) fuel tanks (Both)
· Four underwing pylons each rated at 1,500 kg (3,300 lb) (inboard) and 500 kg (1,100 lb) (outboard) for total external load of 4,000 kg (8,800 lb); maximum practical weapons load (internal and external) 4,400 kg (9,700 lb) of bombs, rockets, missiles, or napalm tanks (Mark III Only)

The TB61 is a shoulder-wing monoplane with a 35° swept wing and a "flying" tail. Two 101E turbojet engines are carried in pods in the wings. It had bicycle-type landing gear, with the main units in the fore and aft fuselage and smaller stabilizing gear in the engine pods. The central fuselage carries a large 5.0 meter (16 ft 5 in) weapons bay and substantial internal fuel tankage.
The Mark III bomber lacks radar or any other modern nav/attack systems, weapons being aimed by the bombardier in a glass nose section with a Packings Type IX bombsight. The Mark III is limited to clear-weather day use. The Mark VI interdiction fighter had some capacity for night and adverse weather thanks to its radar. In service where the weather is generally favorable and daylight missions commonplace, the TB61's lack of advanced targeting and navigation equipment is not a crippling limitation. Mark III bombers can also be converted for photo recce work.

These are not new aircraft, but are reconditioned and rebuilt from retired RAF use. They can still be useful for second line air forces on tactical bombing and ground interdiction missions, and are good for ground attack uses. There are currently 112 Mark III and 64 Mark VI available for sale.

Cost: Mark III - NS$169,000; Mark VI - NS$226,000

Schaeffer Aeronautics

We are very pleased with these aircraft and hope they will serve our country well for years to come. We would also like to order a further 50 aircraft configured for ground attack roles, and another 100 aircraft optimized for carrier landings. We feel the Rabbit would be suited to our light carriers, due to its STOL capabilities and hopefully low operating costs.

We are sending another 22 billion NSD to cover the cost of these aircraft.

Thanking you in advance

We like the aircraft you have available. We would to purchase 12 of the FV12 Rapier for our Air Force, and our national airline would definately like 3 of the S620 airliners. We will have the treasury wire the money to you upon acceptance of the order.
