This is my first GE&T thread. Ever. Please don't treat me too harshly.

An Introduction

Since its formation in 1999, Legion International has been conducting operations in a variety of environments across the globe. From the arid plains of the Harvian Isles to the glistening waves of the Jade Sea, our contractors have been called upon to resolve a broad array of complex issues. Our employees work tirelessly to maintain peace in troubled regions, bring international criminals to justice, and safeguard innocent people from unwarranted aggression. Over the past fourteen years, this company's operatives have been deployed to warzones on three separate continents, each time accomplishing their objectives. We offer the very best in private security, and our close ties to the Alexiandran government provide us with almost unlimited funds with which to pursue our goals. When you hire Legionnaires, you expect strict professionalism; you depend upon this organisation's ability to deploy teams of highly-trained individuals to any location at any time. As Director of Legion International, I can assure you that our men and women are truly the best in their respective fields - a sense of professionalism and the ability to deploy rapidly are not objectives we strive towards, but goals we have achieved. We are Legion International; the very best.

Signed,

James Whittaker,
Director of Legion International

Global Operations

Legion International is comprised of three operational task forces. These are:

- Task Force Bear consists of around five thousand contractors, and specialises in counter-terrorism and insurgency operations. Elements of Task Force Bear can be found on multiple continents, from Orda to Nekyia. At least two thousand members of Task Force Bear are readily available for deployment as of the thirteenth of October 2013.

- Task Force Echo is Legion International's most senior branch. Members of this force are highly adept at carrying out covert operations. In 2002, six members of Task Force Echo stealthily boarded and sabotaged a pirate vessel in the Jade Sea. While the men were aboard, they recovered vital documents which detailed the positions of over thirty additional pirate bands. These bands were systematically hunted down and eliminated thanks to the intelligence gathered by Task Force Echo. Around 1,000 Echo contractors are in active service as of the thirteenth of October 2013.

- Task Force Sword is the peacekeeping arm of our organisation. It is comprised of four thousand operatives, and two thousand of these men and women are currently on active duty. Members of Task Force Sword are responsible for policing operations, crime scene investigation (CSI) duties, and enforcing peace through military force if necessary. Sword contractors have been employed by several international police organisations in order to track down wanted fugitives. In 2006, contractor Daniel Brooke apprehended the known terrorist Ahmed Bin-Whalid, who was implicated in the 2005 bombing of Lockbourne International Airport.

Hiring Legion International

Employees of Legion International are famous for their ability to work in some of the most hostile conditions in the world. From Arctic tundra to desert wasteland, our operators will always accomplish their objectives - or die trying. In order to minimise casualties, however, potential clients must fill out the following application form. The answers you give will determine the gear carried by our operatives, and the strategies adopted by Legion International's chief planners. I would like to personally encourage all of our patrons to fill out this form - doing so really does save lives.

Application Form

Which task force(s) do you require?
Why do you need Legionnaires?
Mission objectives:
Which climate will our soldiers be operating in?
How many Legionnaires are required?
Nature of opposing forces (should there be any):
How long are our Legionnaires needed for?

Parting Words

We here at Legion International are more than willing to put our lives on the line in the name of others. Be it counter-terrorism, the collection of actionable intelligence or simple peacekeeping, we have the will - and the means - to accomplish any objective we are given. I sincerely hope that the next time you are planning a major operation, you consider Legion International for all of your security needs. All inquiries should be directed towards Legion International's Customer Service Division. Have a wonderful day, and remember: we are Legion - the best of the best.

Your request for the deployment of 120 Legionnaires has been approved. Our contractors will, with your permission, begin arriving via air over the next few days. In total, the cost of your order is $2 million Alexiandran Pounds. Legion International expects this payment to be transferred to its bank accounts post-haste. We trust that you will be able to provide accommodation and rations for our operatives. I wholeheartedly thank you for your purchase.

The funds (2 million Alexiandran Pounds) requested for the service of Legion International have been transferred to the appropriate account. A barracks is present on the grounds of the Capital Building and on the grounds of the Federal Court, complete with kitchen services and other amenities. Unless the Legionnaires are on-duty, they will feel like they are on vacation.

Visas and instructions are waiting for the Legionnaires at the airport so there will be no complication at customs. Once all 120 operators have arrived, they will be further briefed by the Defense Ministry.

Eisen Faust,
Minster of Defense

We here at Legion International wish to express our gratitude. The Land of Germany has become our company's first international client. Our operators have been mobilised, and will be deploying over the course of the next seventy-two hours. Sixty men of Task Force Bear, accompanied by sixty men of Task Force Sword, comprise Legion International's German contingent. We hope that this venture will bring both peace and prosperity to the German state.

Mikian Arms and Nuclear Power are looking for more business and would be wondering if your security firm would like weapons. We have small arms up to tanks and even naval crafts. If you are looking for weapons please look at our store front.http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=260550

I regret to inform you that Legion International, as a client company of the central Alexiandran government, possesses all the funding and weapons it currently requires. Purchasing firearms and/or military equipment from Mikian Arms and Nuclear Power would be a gross waste of valuable resources. I am, however, open to any proposals you may have pertaining to co-operation between our enterprises in the future.

OoC: Here's a post I wrote. It involves employees of Legion International, and I thought it might grant you guys some insight into the methods used by our Legionnaires. Enjoy.

IC:

The house was an unimpressive, squat affair - a two-storey structure made of old bricks and rotting timber. Situated in a clearing, deep within the forest, it was miles from the nearest human settlement. Small animals were usually its only visitors, and the small dirt track leading up to its door was covered by paw-prints. Today, however, the house would receive some special guests.

They ringed the clearing. A dozen of them, clad in light, camouflaged uniforms, lay prone in the long grass surrounding the building. Each knew his objective - to secure the house and capture its owner at all costs. "Sierra One, this is command. Operation Sledgehammer is go," came a small voice over the team's radio frequency.

Suddenly, the peaceful clearing was consumed by an explosion of movement. The twelve operatives burst from the grass, and began sprinting towards the house. They formed a perfect circle, just as they had rehearsed; there was no way out for their victim. A handful of men stacked up outside the building's front door. The point man, a tall, burly bruiser, raised a booted foot and slammed it into the wooden entryway. It burst open in a shower of splinters, and six of the men poured into the residence.

The kitchen and living room were empty, devoid of the dwelling's usual occupant. There was a moment of tense silence as the men performed an exhaustive search of the ground floor's furnishings - they emptied cupboards, threw open wardrobes, and upended sofas in their search for the remote building's owner. Then a muffled scream came from upstairs, and the six men flinched in unison. Their hesitation lasted only a second.

They stalked towards the stairwell in single file, the sound of their footfalls dulled by the house's expensive carpet. The point man signalled with two fingers, and they began to pad up the staircase. At the top of the stairs, directly adjacent to the landing, stood a panelled wooden door. On the left, a short corridor led to a tiny window and a bathroom. Two men broke formation and turned left, sweeping the bathroom even as their comrades blasted through the panelled door. They didn't waste time trying to gain access to the room - instead, they fired indiscriminately into it. Their bullets penetrated the thin wood, ripping chunks from the doorway. Another loud scream disturbed the morning air, and something thudded to the ground behind the door.

All six operatives assembled next to the bullet-riddled entrance, hugging the wall for cover. The lead man cautiously reached out a hand, twisting the door's handle. It opened with a creak, and he rolled a concussion grenade into the room. All six men stood back, covering their eardrums. A second later, brilliant white light illuminated the room behind the door. Incandescence flooded the corridor, filtering through the bullet-holes the team had left in the entryway. The point man wasted no time, shouldering the panelled door aside. The bedroom was in tatters. Shards of broken glass littered the laminated floor, and the peeling wallpaper was red with blood. The six men fanned out, subconsciously securing the room and searching for potential threats. Only after the point man gave the all-clear did they truly examine the carnage they had wrought.

A single man - balding, middle-aged, and slightly overweight - lay dead, slumped across his own luxurious bed. He had two wounds; one to the head, one to the chest cavity. Blood oozed from his body. One could theorise that, blinded by the concussion grenade and bleeding profusely, he had stumbled and fallen, finally coming to a rest sprawled across the mattress. The team's point man knelt beside the cadaver, grabbing his shoulder. He rolled the victim onto his back, and performed a visual identity check. "This is our guy," he muttered. Immediately, his comrades began to file out of the room, leaving him to inform command of their success. "Command, this is Sierra One. Target neutralised. I repeat, target neutralised. Over," he said. Static washed over the radio for a second. "Roger that, Sierra One. Report to the exfil point as soon as possible. How copy, over?" came the reply. The point man paused for a moment, staring down at yet another dead man. Blood began to pool around his boots. "Solid copy, command. Wilco. Sierra One out." He clenched his fist, allowing the image of the corpse to be imprinted upon his consciousness. Another one bites the dust, he thought. He had doubts about his cause, about the righteousness of his actions. But he kept them to himself. It would be unacceptable for his squad to learn that he harboured such thoughts - he was a Legionnaire. Doubts were unnecessary.
