About Us

VoorTrekker K9 was founded in 1927 as a joint venture between the Boer Kennel Council and several private investors, for the expressed purpose of, "promoting and maintaining the highest standards of canine breeding and training for working dogs within the Federation of Boer Republics." The Boer people have a long history of breeding shepherd and guard dogs, going back to the earliest days of Dutch colonization, and had already developed a range of domestic breeds by the end of the 19th Century. Building upon these rich traditions, VoorTrekker K9 has grown to be the largest breeder and trainer of working dogs in the Boer Republics, both for the civilian market and the Boer Armed Forces. The company has expanded to provide not only domestic breeding/training, but a wide range of services for the international market including foreign breeding and training programs, and contract dog-handler teams for foreign military and law enforcement agencies.

Canine Breeds

This heavyset breed stands up to 70 cm (27.5 inches) and weighs up to 80 kg. With a calm and loyal, but highly territorial nature, this breed is ideal as a companion or guard dog, although it may be too large for families with small children. These dogs combine both the aggressive, independent temperament of their African Wild Dog ancestors, and the intelligence of the Saarloos Wolfdog. This breed is very well adapted as combat scouts, guards, and detection dogs. It has the highest bite-force of any VoorTrekker K9 breed. In the Boer Republics, this breed is used as a guard and police dog, but is not recommended for families, particularly with small children.

Training*

Shepherding
Shepherding dogs are intelligent, hard-working animals trained to shepherd and protect a flock of domesticated animals, such as sheep, goats, or alpaca. Voorterkker K9 trains all shepherding dogs for two years (until age 26 months), emphasizing independence, problem solving, and herding skills. Because of its larger size, the Saarloos Wolfdog is recommended for herding large animals like cattle. Trained shepherding dogs are available for NS$ 2,000.00 plus the animal's base price.

Recommended breeds: Saarloos Wolfdog, Dutch Shepherd Dog, Rhodesian Ridgeback

Detection
Detection dogs are trained to use their highly sensitive noses to detect a wide range of narcotics or explosives. These animals are widely used by police and military units for their unique skills. All VoorTrekker K9 detection dogs are trained for 2 1/2 years (until age 32 months), and specialize in either explosives or drug detection. Purchasers should indicate which training method in their orders. Detection-trained dogs are available for NS$ 5,000.00 plus the animal's base price.

Recommended Breeds: Saarloos Wolfdog, Dutch Shepherd Dog, Rhodesian Ridgeback

Guard
VoorTrekker K9 guard dogs are bred and trained for their protective instincts and territoriality. While not overly aggressive, these dogs are trained to locate and guard against interlopers on military and police installations, using nose, eyes, and ears. These dogs are trained for two years in the role (until age 26 months), and are available for NS$ 3,500.00 plus the animal's base price.

Recommended Breeds: Saarloos Wolfdog, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Boerboel, Veldwolf

Attack/Interrogation
Attack/Interrogation dogs are bred and trained almost exclusively for their aggressive, hunting instincts. These dogs are employed as guard animals by military, police, and private civilians, and are also used by the Boer Armed Forces as intimidating interrogation tools. These dogs are trained for two years in this intended role, and are available for NS$ 3,500.00 plus the animal's base price.

Recommended Breeds: Saarloos Wolfdog, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Boerboel, Veldwolf

Combat Scout
Combat Scout dogs are the most elite animals offered by VoorTrekker K9. Only the most intelligent and independent animals are chosen for this training. Dogs are trained for three years with the same handler. These animals can not only serve as vital scouts, using their superior smell and hearing to detect hidden threats, but are also trained to be aggressive attack animals, able to run down human targets with ease. These animals are available for NS$ 6,500.00 plus the animal's base price.

Recommended Breeds: Saarloos Wolfdog, Veldwolf

*[Note: Only adult animals and breeding pairs can be given specialist training.

Training/Breeding Programs

Combat Scout Breeding Package
The Combat Scout Breeding Package is a special service offered by VoorTrekker K9. This package includes 100 male and 100 female Saarloos Wolfhoud pups, of which an estimated 60 are expected to form breeding pairs. These animals will be trained by VoorTrekker K9 specialist instructors, who will provide the technical knowledge to establish a self-sustaining breeding and training program within even the least advanced nations. This program costs NS$ 1,500,000.00, and includes 200 Saarloos Wolfdog pups as well as a full compliment of specialist instructors for a three year period, which should be sufficient to train the first generation of dogs, as well as their handlers. This program is recommended for nations wishing to establish their own pool of trained combat canines, and has the advantage of fully acclimating dogs to their respective handlers, as opposed to purchasing already-trained dogs.

Dog-Handler Teams

Shepherding Team
A shepherding team consists of a trained handler and shepherding dog (Saarloos Wolfhoud or Dutch Shepherd Dog). Already trained and fully aclimated to his/her current handler, this dog-handler team is ideal for agricultural/ranching companies which can not afford to breed their own dogs but would still profit from these animals. A shepherding team is available for NS$ 1,000.00/week.

Detection Team
A detection team consists of a trained handler and detection dog (Saarloos Wolfhoud or Dutch Shepherd Dog). This animal has been trained with his/her assigned handler for the full two year training cycle. Working well together, this team of dog and handler is well equipped to detect illegal narcotics or explosive for police and military agencies. A detection team is available for NS$ 2,000.00/week.

Combat Scout Team
Only the best of the best in terms of both dogs and handlers are chosen for combat scout teams. These teams are intended to operate with forward infantry units, assisting with reconnaissance and patrol duties. All combat scout dogs are trained for three years, to the highest standards set by VoorTrekker K9, and all handlers have combat and weapons training and/or are ex-military. These teams are available for NS$ 3,500.00/week.

Hello, my name is Çás Żyocom of the Neccereç breeding association. We have looked soon your catigorys and breeds and have noticed many good breeds but we would like to offer you one other breed into your list. The Sedik Deer Hound. A breed of dog that was bred to be trained as a protection/guard dog and a hunting dog. It's jobs means that it is very friendly and calm around its owners and people not designated as a threat, they were also originally bred to hunt and kill Red Deer and Moose some of the largest terrestrial animal about the tropics. They have big and bruding neck and shoulder muscles and strong jaw muscles. They have a top speed of 35-45 miles per hour With the fastest time ever clocked was 58 MPH. They have the ability to snap bones with just bite force alone when hunting of attacking a threat have been know to go for the upper spin or the windpipe.

At home these amazing animals have found favore among the sedik military one of the best standing land forces in the world. They have seen combat in Sevral conflicts since the time of the Roman Republic and have always been noted for their friendly and compationete nature for their handlers and their unrelenting and aggresive nature. The Greeks called them "kyni̱góskyla tou Ádi̱" of "hound of hades" and the Romans typically called them "potantes sanguinem" which means "blood drinkers" but many Sedik Soldiers commonly called the "Cánźkyuńlÿ" a term that means "friend of man" in old Sedik. The dogs are common house pets in Sedikal even with small children as they are noted for a care a loyalty for their owners and are also know as the "least dangerous breed to own" in Sedikal but since 1980 1,678 burgers and other criminals that have broken into houses have been killed by the breed many ether by a break in the C2/C3 veratabrate of a crushed or torn wind pipe. Sevral cases have noted the victim having no Vertebrate trachea and would find it on the door step of the house with the dog early awaiting the owner to see that he had just protected the family.

They also have a very thick skin to protect them from harm and thick fur for long cold spells. About a 4 million of these dogs live in Sedikal and we are milling to give you a breeding population of 35 dogs to start with for 5% of total profited of the sales of the Sedik Deer Hound. But the bigger point of this offer is to spread this cultural icon around the world and to show its devotion and versatility. The breed is an amazing physical specimen and a breed that would be great for many jobs. We hope you take us up on are offers.
