About Us

Sakura is a Mizuyuki-based corporation specialising in the fine art that is Japanese cuisine. Here at Sakura, we always strive to supply the best, truly authentic Japanese food for our customers. Founded in 2013, we are fairly new to the global scene, but under the firm leadership of our CEO, founder and chef, Mizushima Sakura, we have steadily expanded our business, and Sakura now maintains over 50 outlets in Mizuyuki alone.

Long queues are a daily occurrence outside Sakura's Shirakawa branch.

Our priority here at Sakura are our customers. With over 15 million customers frequenting our outlets in Mizuyuki in 2013 alone, the customers are undoubtedly the people who are at the heart of Sakura's operations. Sakura endeavours to provide our discerning customers with the perfect Japanese dining experience - with delicacies such as fugu sashi and normal Japanese fare like soba, ramen and sushi, dining with Sakura is a sublime experience that you'll never regret.

Fugu sashi served fresh at a Sakura outlet.

After gaining considerable success in Mizuyuki, we at Sakura are setting our sights further and are aiming to venture into the global market. Thus, Sakura are welcoming all applications for the construction and subsequent operation of Sakura outlets in foreign countries.

Why Us?

Good question. Why, indeed, choose Sakura as your preferred Japanese restaurant, when there are so many worthy competitors for your attention out there?

Image

Our satisfied customers dining in comfort at Sakura's Mizunaga outlet.

The answer is exceedingly simple. Choose Sakura, because we are the best. We soar and succeed where others stumble and fail. We are always striving for nothing less than perfection in every aspect of our operations, from the finest ingredients to the exceptionally pleasant atmosphere in each and every one of our outlets. Sakura is, without doubt, the best Japanese restaurant you will ever come across. We pride ourselves on the fact that we can say that truthfully.

Give Sakura a try. You will not be disappointed.

Our Facilities

No corporation can function smoothly without the proper facilities and adequate infrastructure. We at Sakura acknowledge this fact, and as such Sakura is always searching for the best way to handle our operations efficiently. Whether it be transport of ingredients, procurement of new technology, or even the preparation of new culinary delights for our customers, you can be sure that Sakura will constantly be looking for better avenues, better options; we know that nothing can be perfect, and we will continuously try to be bordering perfection.

Our corporate headquarters are located in the Mizuyukian capital city of Shirakawa. Where most of the major decisions are made, this is the workplace of the top brass.

Our Culinary Delights

Sakura Menu

Sakura is proud to present our specialty - the Sakura Menu.

Consisting of a wide range of normal Japanese cuisine, one might be forgiven for thinking that the Sakura Menu is perfectly plain and normal.

However, do not forget one pertinent point - you are dining with Sakura. The restaurant which transcends limits, breaks records, disregards normalcy. To elevate a meal to high standards is not an easy task - but at Sakura, we have transformed the simple and plain into the exquisitely beautiful.

Image
Okayu - Japanese rice porridge.
15 Mizuyuki Yen for normal serving - 25 Mizuyuki Yen for caviar okayu.

Okayu
お粥

Okayu is the simplest dish you will ever find in a Japanese household. Made from just rice and water, okayu are usually served with a topping. Patrons can choose from several delectable toppings - negi (green onion), salmon, tamago (egg) and roe. For customers hankering for a more exotic taste, caviar toppings are also available, with a slight increase in price. The traditional nanakusa-gayu (seven herb porridge) is also available on 7 January of every year as per tradition - price on request.

A recipe that is guaranteed to suit anyone's palette, Sakura's steaming hot okayu is a great meal to have on a cold day.

Image
Soba - Japanese buckwheat noodles
30 Mizuyuki yen for 1 serving - 40 Mizuyuki yen for Sakura soba.

Soba
蕎麦

Made from the finest Juwari soba, Sakura's soba dishes, although simple, is simply the most delicious soba you will find. We import large shipments of the highest quality Juwari soba from Japan to meet our customers' needs.

With several excellent varieties of soba dishes, Sakura is a must visit location for the soba lover. We offer the widest range of soba in Mizuyuki - with zaru soba, hiyashi soba, kitsune soba and tsukimi soba only a few among the vast selection we serve. In addition, Sakura also serves its house special - the Sakura soba. With a few dashes of our secret seasoning, a few strips of crispy nori (seaweed) and specially cooked fragrant broth, the Sakura soba can be on your plate for only 40 Mizuyuki yen.

Try Sakura's soba dishes today. Whether it be hot or cold soba, Sakura's delicious soba dishes will leave you salivating for more.

Image
Udon - Japanese wheat flour noodles
Price depending on variety.

Udon
うどん

Udon is a common type of noodle in Japan. Wherever you travel in the Land of the Rising Sun, there's sure to be a shop serving udon right around the corner. However, we at Sakura do not simply serve udon. We transform udon into a delicacy.

Udon is similarly common in Sakura outlets - we serve 7 separate and unique udon dishes. Chief among them is the Chikara udon with mochi provided from Tama-ya, the famous mochi maker. The Chikara udon (power udon) is a filler - it contains enough calories to keep an adult male going for a whole day. We also serve miso-nikomi udon, nabeyaki udon, kitsune udon, tempura udon, bukkake udon and wakame udon, all of which are divine dishes that promises to leave you simply itching to sample more.

Should you chance upon a Sakura outlet in your area, do not hesitate to try our udon. We guarantee it will be a culinary experience you will never forget.

Image
Ramen
Price depending on variety.

Ramen
ラーメン

Ramen is a curious dish - it has so many palatable variations that it is nigh impossible to catalogue them all. Sakura promises to change that - our ramen will surpass any other of the thousands of variations that you can find in the Japanese Archipelago.

Ramen consists of wheat noodles served in a meat or fish broth. There are 4 main types of ramen soup, which are shōyu (soy sauce), tonkotsu (pork bone), shio (salt), and miso. Sakura takes pride in being able to offer no less than 12 ramen dishes, which contain the most popular Japanese variations as well as our own special Sakura ramen. Delectable toppings and ingredients for ramen are provided - customers at Sakura may try their hand at making their own ramen at a discounted price or simply order what we already serve.

There is nothing better than a hot bowl of ramen when you're starving after a long day. Guaranteed to lift your spirits and more importantly, fill your stomach, our ramen leaves nothing to be desired.

Image
Gohan - the staple food of Japan.
Price depending on dish.

Gohan

The quintessentially Japanese dish - rice.

Rice is the staple food of Japan. In Japanese households, rice is often served for every meal of the day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It often comes accompanied with several different dishes known as okazu (おかず; side dishes), or is prepared in different forms like sushi, omelette rice, and onigiri.

Sakura holds rice in high regard and reverence. In our outlets, rice is considered a valuable item, not to be wasted. We serve rice not only in its original, traditional form - we elevate simple rice to dashing art.

Here at Sakura, a large number of rice based dishes can be found in abundance. Varieties of sushi and onigiri are among our most popular dishes, and our famous Japanese omelette rice comes with a special message of your choice, written in Sakura's secret sauce. However, it is with plain rice that Sakura's mastery and artistry really shines. With the highest grade Japanese rice, Sakura is able to craft any rice dish you might desire, limited only by the ingredients we have at our disposal. We can make different types of bento, serve an amazingly wide selection of okazu, ranging from tsukemono (pickled vegetables) to unagi (eel) with your rice, and also arrange rice dishes into literal art before serving them to you, our discerning customers.

Quintessentially Japanese. That is the hallmark of Japanese rice dishes, and it is also the enduring philosophy of Sakura.

Our Rules

Sakura is prepared to expand our business overseas, to lands far from Mizuyuki. However, nations, individuals or organisations wishing to apply for a business partnership with us should abide by the rules and guidelines outlined below.

Rules and Guidelines

1. All dealings must be carried out in a civil manner.
2. Please act sensibly with regards to your nation - I don't want someone coming in and asking for a million outlets. I'll do a background check before I authorise anything.

I will be monitoring this storefront closely, and add new rules as necessary.

Quintessentially Japanese

Official Correspondence

To : Zhao Xun, Marketing Director, Prokhorovsk Fisheries Inc
Subject : Supply of Seafood
Priority : High

Dear Sir,

Sakura has received your official message dated 18 April 2013. After a brief meeting, the Sakura board has decided to accept your offer to become a supplier for our company.

However, Sakura are currently without a supplier for some of our more exotic ingredients; as such, we require a few additional items to be supplied. As you are a corporation supplying seafood, I have high hopes that you will be able to meet our requests. The ingredients which we require are buri fish, firefly squid, fugu (puffer fish) and Japanese snow crab.

We are happy to accept your current terms; however, Sakura would be prepared to pay high prices if you found yourselves able to supply the requested products. We thank you for your application and hope that this is the start of a long, mutually beneficial relationship between our companies.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Morimoto Ryuuko
Deputy Chief Executive

Dear Sir,

Sakura has received your official message dated 18 April 2013. We have arranged for a screening to be held, and overall we find you to be an excellent prospective franchisee for Sakura.

However, we regret to inform you that your proposal has been
rejected.

A couple of obstacles stand in your path to becoming a Sakura franchisee. As you are applying to become a new franchisee, we at Sakura are not currently prepared to grant your company permission to operate that many outlets at once. Another objection raised is that Sakura's cut of the profits is far too low to be considered acceptable.

We propose that you slightly alter your terms; Sakura would find 50 outlets in your fine nation to be perfectly acceptable. In addition, we require up to 50% of the profits in order to make some form of return on our franchisings. All other terms stated in your proposal are completely acceptable to Sakura.

We hope that you are able to reconsider your current terms and present fresh ones in light of our rejection. We hope that you will not be discouraged by this failure, and will return to make us a better offer. Thank you for your interest; Sakura have high hopes as to our prospective business relationship.

Why choose Sakura? Because we are the best.

Yours sincerely,

On behalf of Prokhorovsk, we humbly thank you for accepting our proposal. We too look forward to working with your establishment in the years to come. As per your request, we will agree to supply you with some of our more exotic catches, with our prices up for negotiation as always.

However, due to low domestic demand for puffer fish, we are unable to meet all of your requests. We humbly apologize for the inconvenience caused and sincerely hope that this will not hinder our deal. Therefore, as a token of goodwill, we are willing to deliver our 1 kg worth of puffer fish from our catch during the past day, free of charge. We appreciate your consideration for our offer and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Yours Sincerely
Zhao Xun (趙迅/Чжао Синь)

Dear Sir,

We have noted the last correspondence you sent to Sakura on the April 18th, and we will be happy to agree to the deal currently on the table. We appreciate the fact that limited demand causes your company to focus less on the capture of puffer fish. Still, should the opportunity arise in the future, I hope that you will find yourselves able to provide us with fresh puffer fish.

We look forward to sampling your fresh seafood, and we hope that your supplies will always be of the highest quality.

Thank you for taking the time to consider the proposed alterations and we are happy to forge a mutually beneficial business relationship between our companies. Once again, allow me to sincerely thank you.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,

Subject : Franchising Application
Priority : Medium

Dear Sir,

Your application has been noted and duly processed. As you are applying for the 2nd time now, the stipulation for a pre-application screening process has been lifted. We will form a decision based on the previous report of this morning.

Following the necessary alterations that you have made, Sakura is happy to report that your application has been
accepted.

Let me first clarify a couple of points regarding franchising - Sakura will not be responsible for the day-to-day operations of your outlets in Reino do Brasil. In effect, you will be running the Sakura business yourself, while Sakura only lends its intellectual property - the Sakura brand, logo and our menus and recipes. We also expect all aspects of the operation to be the same as in our own outlets.

However, despite this being a franchise of ours, we still expect the Sakura outlets to be up to scratch. Sakura officials will periodically drop in anonymously to compile reports about the operation of your outlets; if you are found seriously lacking in any aspect, Sakura reserves the right to withdraw your franchising rights without any form of compensation. In addition, if your outlets are in any way sanctioned or fined by the authorities, Sakura will not be involved. It will then be solely your responsibility to arrive at a solution to your problems.

We expect great things from you, our first franchisee. We believe that you have the potential to spread the brand of Sakura even further beyond our shores, and help transform us into a global brand. Thank you for submitting this application; we look forward to working with you. I wish you all the best in your operation of Sakura outlets.

Why choose Sakura? Because we are the best.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Suzuki Kaede
General Manager

Dear Sir,

Sakura has received your official message dated 18 April 2013. Your nation has been subject to a thorough screening by Sakura, and we have arrived at a conclusion as to your application.

We are happy to inform you that your application has been
accepted.

Construction work on the proposed 45 outlets can commence immediately, as Sakura have a deal in place with the Mizuyuki government-owned Hikari Architecture and Construction, who will be responsible for the construction and design of all Sakura outlets. According to the figures they have supplied me with, the construction work is expected to take around 5 months to complete, by which time we will commence operations without further delay.

We take immense pride in being able to list your country as one of the various nations where Sakura outlets are located. Believe me when I say that all of us at Sakura will endeavour to serve the best Japanese cuisine to your citizens.

Thank you very much for trusting us, Sakura. It will not be a decision you will regret.

Why choose Sakura? Because we are the best.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Mizushima Sakura
