Rethast Incarceration Services

Offering Affordable Solutions to Crime

Introduction
For generations, Lux Absentia has been used by the Rethast government to streamline the incarceration of prisoners and the associated responsibilities that come with. A state-owned company, Lux Absentia is proud to open its services to the wider world. With the dissolution of the Lentar dictatorship, a great number of our prisons have been emptied of "Thought-Criminals" and political prisoners (and rightfully so!). With the new space available, the Board of Directors has decided to offer its prized services to the international community.

Why?
It is well known that maintaining even one prison is a massive undertaking. You must provide food, shelter and amenities to hundreds (sometimes thousands) if prisoners on a daily basis. Security Guards must be hired, structures must be built, and no well-meaning citizen wants a prison in their own back yard! This is where Lux Absentia can help.

Lux Absentia already has the space, amenities, and required personnel for thousands of prisoners. For a fraction of the cost that you would spend on your own prison services, Lux Absentia can (and will) take the work from your hands. You dictate the laws, the sentence and the punishment. We take care of the criminals.

Also, in the many years we have run this service for the people of Rethan, never once have we had a breakout. Your prisoners will serve their full sentence until such a time that you wish them to return or be released. They will not be going anywhere else. Furthermore, each of our prisons are built in the infamous "Spires" of the Hive Cities. Constructed during the old regimes of the Lentar line, the Spires are fiercely well protected, both inside and out, by armed security on equal footing with our nation's military. Even the most high-ranking terrorist leader or crime lord will not be able to attempt an escape. Furthermore, even if a convict were to escape a Spire, they would have to traverse the many miles of the Hive in which they are incarcerated. Should they somehow avoid getting lost in the winding streets of the Hive, they would have to evade not only our own security search teams, but the Rethast police and the many civilian militia. There is nowhere on Earth more secure than a Spire cell.

How are the prisoners treated?
This would depend on the package you chose, the details of which are listed below. However, all our guards are strictly monitored, and the government keeps a close eye on all Prison Wardens. Criminals will not be subject to harsh treatment, torture or similar. Also, we shall endeavour to keep prisoners of similar or friendly nationalities together in Cell blocks to avoid possible racially motivated attacks.

Who will you accept?
Anyone! We do not dictate your laws, your methods of justice or your right to govern your own citizens. We simply provide the service which would otherwise cost you in the range of millions or billions to maintain. You pay the package cost, we take the prisoners. No questions asked.

Incarceration Packages
Low Security
Ideal for simple criminals (thiefs, irresponsible drivers, etc), Low Security prisoners will be afforder more leisure time, more time in the open air and better food than other prisoners. Low Security does not mean a greater chance of breakout, so calm your worries!
Maximum Sentence: 5 years.
Cost Per Prisoner Per Month: $800
Cost Per Prisoner Per Year: $9400

Medium Security
Ideal for those who have committed heinous crimes which do not constitute a life sentence in your country.
Maximum Sentence: 25 years.
Cost Per Prisoner Per Month: $1,000
Cost Per Prisoner Per Year: $10,000

High Security
This package would be best suited to those who have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Murderers and the such like.
Maximum Sentence: None
Cost Per Prisoner Per Month: $1,250
Cost Per Prisoner Per Year: $12,000
In the case of a life sentence, you will be charged for 40 years for convicts under 40 years of age, and for 25 years for those over 40.

Death Sentence
If you would rather not have blood on your hands, Lux Absentia also offers numerous methods of execution should you be unable/unwilling to carry through such acts yourself.
Gas Chamber: $500 Per Prisoner
Lethal Injection: $500 Per Prisoner
Electrocution: $600 Per Prisoner
Firing Squad: $800 Per prisoner

Method of Order
We do not need the details! Simply place an order in the following format:
Number of Convicts:
Package:
Length of Incarceration: (in the format YY/MM)

For example, if ordering: 1)The containment of 100 Low Security prisoners, 75 for 2 years and 25 for three months along with 2)50 High-Sec prisoners for life (all under 40) and 3)one gas chamber execution you would format as follows:

1)Number of Convicts: 100
Package: Low-Sec
Length: 75 * 02/00; 25 * 00/03
2)Number of Convicts: 50
Package: High-Sec
Length: Life w/ 50* (Under 40)
3)Number of Convicts: 1
Package: Gas Chamber

We look forward to housing those who need rehabilitation!

OOC: Okay, first try at a storefront. Be nice! Also, if you want to compare costs for housing prisoners, try here and here for RL examples. See, a bargain!

We seek rendition services for technicians, engineers, academics, and scientists. This is a way for us to spirit out technicians, intellectuals, and scientists from regimes we consider hostile. We would have you hold them until we can establish safe identities for them in our own country. As part of the holding, we would like to include onsite labs, security, and comfortable accomodations. These are not prisoners in the traditional sense. We need absolute confidentiality in who would be held in these facilities.

This would require both high security and high confidentiality with plausible denial. We would require on average 2000 renditioned people per year. It often takes up to three years before we can relocate them and give them new identities. These people must be treated with utmost respect. We are willing to pay $30,000 per person per year. Each year we would be paying $60 million for this service as an annual ongoing contract. This would include basic lab equipment and computing.

Simon Ming, Minister of Technology, Free Commonalities

This is a most unsual request, however it will not be difficult to provide what you ask. We can provide accomodation as well as access to the no longer used Spire Laboratories under the care of our sister company, Noctis Industries. Of course, for our own security, scientists using these facilities will be monitored carefully. The best solution we can offer for comfortable accomodation is the Low-Sec Spire Blocks, however we can refurbish them to suit your needs.

Please be aware, Lux Absentia is not a hotel service. While we can provide access to labs and accomodaton, we cannot provide anything more. However, we would be willing to accept your offer.

We await the arrival of the first scientists. Thanks you for your business and we hope to see you in the future.

Kind Regards,
Lucarien Serest, Public Relations, Lux Absentia Services.
