Information about applicant:Douglas was born in Thugabaa Aboriginal Reserve,250 kilometres from regional city of Moree,as oldest son of Gilah/Gilaa ''Scott" Gulubaa and Thigarrah "Kath" Barraay
-Guduu. Despite his father is chief in authority, his family often suffered with financial troubles,due to Gilah resisted the tyranny of PM Gillard,who cut off their income.As a result, his family constantly starved,deprived of many wealth the others had. He attended the Tribal School,managed and staffed by 17 elders and several youths. At school,he always excelled,his marks with always in high 90s. Douglas wanted to study in mainstream education and go to University.However,he lived too far from Moree,where the closest decent high school was located.
The elders,when found out about it, have agreed to pay Douglas's education with their own money.
When he was 14,he's initiated as full-blood Kamilaroi,learned all the tribal knowledge.
Then he studied in Moree High School,where he topped on all of his subjects for all 4 years in Moree.
He was the school captain and the main cast of 5 school drama and musical productions.
He was captain of national-finalist Moree HS Rugby Team.
He is provided with scholarship by Australian Government.
Last October,he finished his high school with ranked 1st out of NSW's 120000 high school students,winning Her Majesty's Honours,the prestigious scholarship for students that ranks 1st in each of Australia's 6 states and 2 territories.
