The state-owned armament conglomerate "Kharkov Heavy Industry" is a leading-edge producer of advanced weapons systems for the modern battlefield. The merging of many different companies has ensured the presence of all elements of production and maintenance: concept development, initial and detailed design, manufacture of prototypes and their tests, marketing, pre-production planning and serial production, technical support during operation, upgrading as well as the training of the technicians and engineers.

The KHI product line consists of up-to-date armored fighting vehicles, standardized infantry weapons, and battlefield support equipment, including the T-14 and T-10 families of AFVs, the AK-12 assault rifle platform, as well as a large selection of support equipment such as radio-communication systems, vision systems, and battlefield radars.

The enterprises participating in the production of KHI-brand equipment have added a glorious page to the history of Orussian and world industry. The original company, Kharkov Machine Design Bureau, was formed in 1927, and was responsible for some of the earliest tank designs in Orussia, such as the T-12 and later T-24. Since then, between the six major components of KHI, over 9000 projects have been developed, from which 547 have been realized, and 268 have been produced in series. In total, over 250,000 domestically-built main battle tanks have been manufactured, of which over 50,000 have been exported. Over 25,000 KHI-brand vehicles have been produced under license abroad. In total, KHI equipment has served in the armed forced of over 30 nations around the world.
