IRS Principality, Archer Class Aircraft Carrier
Southern NS Pacific Ocean
It was a bright, sunny day, and the rays of light made the water glisten and pristine bulk of metal that was the Principality shimmer. As it slowly cut through the water it made a low but large wake behind it. That wake was the only thing that interrupted the water's peacefulness. The ship itself was a different story. The Principality was in a state of complete tranquility. A lot of the crewmembers could be seen on the flight deck laying down, eating, playing cards, and throwing a football. All was calm. There was no reason to be worried or watchful or even professional. The ship was in open sea in international wateers heading back to its home port at Grotrokaragod in the Imperial Republic of Aldarminia. Aldarminia wasn't at war so who would attack the ship? AWACS hadn't even been sent out. The ship's command center was empty because all the officers were relaxing. This was the life of a sailor in the Imperial Republican Navy assigned to colonial port defense. Do a tour of nine months that most considered a vacation in Aldarminia's exotic colonies. Then return home for at least nine more months. Everything was quiet, easygoing, and peaceful.
All of that was about to change. One of the more observant sailors of the crew said he could see land. Most of his fellow crewmembers said he was crazy. He waved the thought off as him seeing things out of the boredom. Then, more and more men started to murmur that they could see land in the distance. Finally, a officer who had bought a pair of binoculars in Imravarminia looked through them in the direction of where the men claimed they could see land. The officer shockingly announced as he peered through the lenses, "I-I-I can't believe it! It's land! It's land! Tell the captain to change course! Land ho!"
Now the whole ship was buzzing with activity. The crew was now in order and in their proper stations. Within an hour, the Principality was anchored off the coast of what the crew thought was a newly discovered island. A small scouting team landing on the beach of the island. The beach was rocky with dark sand. It rose gradually for a few yards then suddenly it ended with a steep rock wall. Sailors still on the ship said they could see where the wall ended and a small slope leading to the rest of the island. An AWACS aerial reconnaissance mssion showed that the island was roughly twice the size of Mauritius. After a long wait a report from the Imperial Organization of Aldarminian Cartographers reported that the island had been recorded but rarely showed up on maps due to its insignificance. The report also said that the island was found to be a "wasteland with no real use besides as an airfield. Even though, a sailor by the name of Anyokilm planted an Aldarminian flag on the beach. he named the beach Prince Beach. The captain named the island after the sailor who originally spotted it, Wyrstrahn Island.
The Principality was ordered to leave the island and return to its original course.
No one suspected that the ship had discovered a diamond in the rough.
