To court a prince (closed)

Postby Warhaven » Wed Dec 15, 2010 8:54 am

The Invitations had been sent out, the nation prepared and countless women nursed through their collective heartaches.

Pondera, crown prince of Warhaven, had chosen to marry a foreign bride instead of a domestic one. Limiting his search to only the member nations of the ROUS, he hoped to find someone who could be considered his true equal.

His parents, Tajen, Son of The Darkness, Lord Emperor of Warhaven, and Cara, Daughter of Light, Lady Empress of Warhaven had wished him luck in his endeavors, though there were hints of disapproval at his decision. Regardless, the wheels had been set in motion. But how many would answer his call?

...

"This is GNN, your source for all the latest news in and around the Multi-verse. I am Rob Fergher reporting.

In our top story tonight, Prince Pondera has set out to marry a foreign bride, his invitation made and sent out as a video recording, we have a copy for you to view now." A Red faced rotound gentleman said.

Screens switched over to the video, showing the prince sitting in a comfortable leather chair next to a crackling fire. Wooden paneling was the only thing visible behind him, next to him on an oak stand, was a glass of Cianti.

"Fair Ladies of our glorious alliance, I address you tonight.

I am Pondera, bringer of Twilight, crown prince of Warhaven. I have been alone for far too long, and I seek a mate from beyond my own borders to keep me company.

So it is that I invite you to come to Warhaven. We are an artistic people, having reached a high degree of excellence in many forms of artisitc expression. Our knowledge of the cosmos is extensive, and we live a life that reflects that. Set aside the cares that plague you now, and come live a fairytale dream with me.

Yet, I must mention, that there are standards that must be met, but surely any suitable lady in the worlds of our grand union can meet them.

First, you must be fertile, able and willing to have children, for the throne is hereditary. This point, I must insist upon.

Second, you must be willing to give up all rights to any previous power in the government of your current nation of residence. This point is negotiable.

Third, you must be able to pass the Aquamarinian battery of IQ tests with a score of above average, or better. I warn you, their not easy, and if you cannot pass them, I refuse to even so much as give you the time of day. For your ease of mind, if you consider yourself to have a high degree of intellect, and a firm grasp of philosophy as well as science, then you have a good chance of passing.

Point three is the most important. I demand an equal, for someday you will sit beside me on the throne. Not in front of, or behind, but beside, welding all the power that I weld.

Not scared off yet? Then come to Warhaven. I'll be waiting for you.

He had waited for quite some time, but only one response had been gotten. That was alright, he could concentrate all his efforts on Ms. Carol Miller then.

On the appointed day of her arrival, he waited at Skywatch for her, anticipating her arrival.

The Steps were lowered and the door opened, and Out Stepped Carol Miller.
She Was dressed in a Long Elegant Red Dress.
On her back Two large wings of golden feathers sat, Her Lower half, though Hidden by the dress Was of a Humanoid Lion. Her tail Stuck out through a Hole in the back of her dress and Two Large Ears sat on top of her head. Her Arms and indeed the Whole of the top half of her body was covered in the same golden feathers that covered her wings.
She looked around and Smiled looking for the welcoming party

There was the prince himself, his long blond hair seeming to glow in the light. His blue eyes matched the shade of Oceanstar burning in the skies above. He wore gold ceremonial armor with blue trim, and in one hand he held a single long stemmed rose, shifting colors each second. With his impressive features, it was easy to see why scores of women dreamed about him at night.

Behind him waited a line of glowing individuals in a black uniform. A red carpet extended from carol's craft to a horse drawn carriage. Each horse was a member of that rare species known more normally as a Pegasus.

"Welcome to The Bureaucracy, Ms. Carol Miller. I am Pondera, Bringer of Twilight, Crown Prince of Warhaven. I am also pleased to make your acquaintence." Pondera said, extending the rose to Carol.

He lead the way to the carriage, it was lined with Velvet, trimmed with silk. The carriage took off at a gentle pace, rolling through the streets.

The streets themselves were cobblestone, the sidewalks concrete. The buildings, though of normal architectual structure, their sides were works of art. Some had massive murals painted across the side depicting the beautiful wonders of the cosmos, others depicting scenes from history. Some had simple flowers on the side, and still others had famous figures painted upon them.

Here and there statues stood, some made of marble, others of bronze. Many of these were of creatures.

But nature was not left out of the wonder that was Kessingale. Gardens were rampant, flowers of all kinds let their scents waft through the air bringing a wonderful aroma to any who bothered to pay attention to their efforts. Fruits hung ripe and delicious, begging for the passerby to pluck and eat them. More exotic plants of a mysterious nature stood behind barriers.

Some of the plants literally watched, eye stalks agape, as the prince personally drove Carol through the city. His expert driving skillfully weaving through traffic.

The people themselves were of a plethora of species each dressed colorfully to suit individual tastes. Businesses lined the streets in this part of town, advertisements hung here and there displaying the wares and services for sale within.

Hovering billboards were turned to GNN, which was displaying the prince's journey through the city.

As the prince bypassed a giant tube set into the ground, Carol caught a glimpse of the flying roadway, a massive system of tubes that ran through and around the city, sometimes passing right through buildings. Off in the distance a massive structure seemed to be the hive of these tubes. It was marked only as "The Galactic Mall".

They passed by a building with water cascading down it's side, and by this point, Carol would realize the single most numerous figure displayed in the city artwork was a mysterious man with red hair and red eyes, when they passed by yet another statue of the man.

As impressive as the city was, Pondera turned a corner, and Carol was greeted with the most impressive sight of all.

The Light Pillar.

It stretched into infinity, a beacon of light shining out into the Multi-verse. It had no solidly defined boundaries, great bands of gold metal like Pondera's armor sometimes containing the pillar, sometimes swallowed by the light. Within the pillar, she would see her own memories displayed within the pillar, and the faces of loved ones from home.

This phenominon had never been explained by anyone to a satisfactory degree, suffice to say the sights were different for each viewer.

Pondera pulled up and jumped down, opening the door for Carol. Nearby a seven foot giant of a man with red hair and black eyes almost glared at the woman. He was glowing red like the people behind Pondera at Skywatch. Unlike them, he wore black Leather clothes, no uniform.

"Carol, Welcome to The Imperial Palace of Warhaven, known far and wide as The Light Pillar. This friendly fellow beside me is The Red Death, the imperial security advisor, and my father's chief bodyguard. But don't let his heartwarming demeanor fool you, he actually hates people, and despite exaustive searches, we have yet to find anyone he gets along with.

Also, I'm not sure what you may or may not have seen in the light as we approached, but it's different for everyone. It's magic, very ancient magic. Just walk through the wall, it's not solid." Pondera said.

With those words, The Red Death stalked through the walls to go report the prince's return.

"When he, or any of his species talks, you'll know it. They never speak above a whisper, yet their voices are clearly heard through even the greatest of noises, causing a chilling supernatural sense of fear in listeners." Pondera said.

Carol would discover walking through the wall was like diving into a pool. Seconds later, Pondera touched her shoulder.

The floors were made of what appeared to be pearl, yet were much harder. They were covered in rugs that ran the length of the castle.

The doors were wood, and light appeared sourceless. People ran about every which way on business.

"Follow me, if you will?" Pondera asked.

He lead the way, and stopped at one door, opening it. Inside was a massive 32 foot red Octopus.

"Mark, this is Carol Miller. She is not an invader, nor a spy. She is not an enemy of The Bureaucracy, nor someone to be wary of." Pondera said speaking to the creature.

"Carol, this is King Mark, The Angry, one of the six rulers of Aquamarinia. He has little to no patience at all, and once was provoked into a frightful rage by a fly landing on the wall of the next room. I'm niether joking nor exaggerating. All red Aquamarinians have short tempers, but Mark is their direct ruler and has the worst temper of all. So, to sum this introduction up, he's easily provoked and has phenominal strength." Pondera said.

He closed the door and moved on.

"That was neccessary, before he accidentally met you first by surprise.

The Bureaucracy itself is actually comprised of smaller nations. Aquamarinia is ruled by six royal Aquamarinians, the other five are much nicer. They yeild to my Father's throne. Similarly, the Celestial Dragons who patrol our spaceways all follow the rule of a mighty Celestial Dragon known as Bahamut. Bahamut serves my father. There are other worlds with various kingdoms, empires, and other assorted nations, all bowing to my Father's throne. My father himself directly rules The Warhaven Empire.

It's all held together by his remarkable willpower, and the Inter-government Legislature known better as The Bureaucracy. It's been said we have more laws and rules than The Multi-verse, and boast the single most complicated government ever concieved of. If not, then by the gods we'll make The Bureaucracy even more complicated until it is the most complicated.

I jest of course, but it can get complicated if you bury yourself in details. Most don't, but being ultra-intelligent, the Aquamarinians do simply for the sport of it.

Anyways, by popular vote, The Empire's name was put at the forefront of The Bureaucracy, hence our inter-national recognition as The Bureaucracy of Warhaven." Pondera said.

By this point they passed a window and it became obvious that somehow they had teleported up seven floors without any prior indication of the event.

"Propriety is important. This then shall be your private quarters until the future becomes more certain. If things work out, then you'll move in with me after marriage. Otherwise it's yours until you return home. I'm confident in a bright future however." Pondera said opening a door to a luxurious suite fit for a princess.

"This crystal panel on the wall is the access control panel for the palace computer system. User ID is irrelevant, as it operates by thought. Just touch the screen and think, it'll do the rest. The first time you use it, it'll scan your body and establish your ID within The Bureaucracy, which is important as it's illegal to go about without proper Identification. I'd hate to place you under house arrest. It makes romance in other places terribly difficult.

Through the panel you can order meals, drinks, furniture if you feel like redocorating, you can order the staff around, summon guards if you feel the need, the works. You can access The Inter-Galactic Trans-Dimensional Communications Network, and from there browse websites, connect to your homeland's Networks, and even call home.

I hate to leave you, but I can only overwhelm you with so much in one day, and I do have imperial duties to attend to. Blasted Paperwork.

So, I'll leave you here. Don't worry if you feel like your being followed, you are. Those glowing people behind me, their Imperial Bodyguards, and one's been assigned to you. Good luck trying to find them, unless your a master wizard or very lucky, it's impossible. Their there when you need them though.

Now, there's a formal reception at 7 tonight. I'll see you then.

It was a pleasure meeting you Carol." Pondera said, and left her in her room.

...

Ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

Carol Nodded in Greeting to King Mark Before following the Prince onwards Listening to him Describe the set up of the Leadership of the Bureaucracy.

Though Not Afraid of Heights carol did jump with surprise when she noticed that they had Suddenly Jumped seven floors.

She Looked at Her Quarters in Amazement

"Oh Wow. This is Fantastic" She said as She Sat on the Bed "See you At Seven, Your Majesty"

Once he had Left She Immediately Touched the screen and Thought of a nice Cup of tea. She sat on the bed and pulled out the Book She had been reading On the Plane, The Book Was "The Divergent War" By TK Watson.

When someone knocked at the door ten minutes later, She Looked up and Closed the Book, She went over to the door, without taking off the Glasses she wore to read, Which Made her Look Cuter in the Attractive sense of the word, and Opened it

As she opened the door she was greeted by a sharp increase in the amount of light filling her room. Beyond in the hallway was a remarkably beautiful woman that must've surely been an inspiration for stories of goddesses and angels.

She looked almost identical to Pondera, sharing his eyes and hair, skin tone and well kept nails. The jaw structure and nose were different though.

She was dressed in a very regal gown and carried herself with pride.

"Good afternoon, I am Cara, Daughter of The Light, Lady Empress of Warhaven. I hope you don't mind, but I just couldn't stand the wait any longer and had to jump ahead of the formal recption tonight. Oh, I see you've already tested the Replicator. It's about ready. It always takes awhile when it's doing more than one thing." Cara said, pointing to a glowing swirling point of light on a small stand where a cup of tea was coming into existence. Next to it was an ID card, that read "Carol Miller, Princess." Beneath it was a 32 digit number.

"Anyway, I also dropped by to give you this." Cara said pulling out a card made of Mythril.

"Treasury Express, member 4, Carol Miller." It read.

"You'll need money of course while your here. We don't do physical money, if we can help it. This card then is your entire cashflow. I believe my husband and I gave you a starting allowence of 1 million Gold. May I come in, or would you care to go visit The Galactic Mall and do some shopping?" Cara asked.

During all this it became clear, Cara was glowing. Literally, glowing. She was generating enough light to double the normal intensity of the castle. But then she did say she was Daughter of The Light.

Carol Curtsied, The Light Didn't have that much affect on her beyond her Pupils contracting Sharply to a small size "Good afternoon Lady Empress"
She Took the Card and Looked at it Interestedly
"You May Come in" She said, Politely Stepping aside whilst continuing to look at the card "This Really is fantastic, We've got similar things back home But nothing this Fancy"
She Put the card next to her ID Card and Sipped her tea
"Yes, I would Enjoy a trip to the The Galactic Mall"

After Carol finished her tea, Cara lead the way, stopping just before a golden arch painted in the wall, and decorated with arcane symbols. She had passed by this way with Pondera earlier.

"See this archway? It's known as a Warp Gate. It connects two specific points in space. In this case, the residential floor with the first floor. It's self-powering, and never shuts down. In truth, there's a wall here in front of us, but because of Warp, all we see is the end of the first floor hallway. You can walk through it a dozen times and never realize you've been through a permanently fixed Einstien-Rosenberg Bridge." Cara said.

She stepped through and continued on. Down to the parking garage, where there were parked a selection of vehicles. Cara choose one that was light blue, and had "Dwarvenholt Motors" on the grill.

The car drove itself. All Cara had to do was turn it on and tell it her destination. They weren't alone, two glowing people appeared and got in with them, their bodyguards of course.

The car entered one of the tunnels and accelerated to Mach 3. While in some places this might seem entirely too fast, three times the speed of sound was actually pretty average for the highway.

Shortly they stopped at the mall, and disembarked, seconds before the ground opened up beneath the car and took it way to the parking facility.

She lead the way inside, and once Carol joined her, Carol would be greeted with a shopper's paradise.

There were countless shops of every type and variety catering to every nich and need. Windows displayed items that some only dreamed of. Entertainment filled some nooks, clowns and jugglers, painters and sculptors.

A movie complex displayed the latest attraction, titled "It came from beyond!" a horror movie.

In this wonderland people moved about in a state of bliss, worries and cares forgotten.

Cara looked to Carol, it seemed to be up to her as to where the pair went first. Perhaps an eyecatchingly beautiful new gown for tonight?

"Very Interesting, Yes, Very very Interesting"

Carol was Turning on the spot Looking around in amazement
"This is Fantastic" She said "Do you Think We Could go and Find a gown I could Wear tonight I've only really got this dress at the moment"

"That was a mistake." One of their guards commented.

"Shall I signal the palace for a code blue?" asked the other.

"Well, then, I know of at least 32 different clothing stores in the mall we need to visit. I believe 10 of them are having a sale. We'll be needing to visit the lingerie stores too, can't wear the same undergarments every day." Cara said, developing a crazed look in her eye.

"I think we have a code red." the first said.

"On it." the second said.

"Oh, and the jewelery stores, and a good alchemist for the perfect perfume." Cara said going on entering a world of her own.

"Step on it man, she's already mentioned jewelery!" the first cried worriedly.

"All right you two that's enough, I can control myself, now. I'm not going to spend the entire Gross National Product in a shopping craze, again." Cara said, regaining a more sane appearence after some effort.

The two guards heaved a sigh in relief, as Cara turned to Carol once more.

"I, I have to admit, I'm a recovering Shopaholic. I exaggerate when I say I spent the entire GNP, it was really only like 2-3 trillion dollars. But enough about me, we'll need to get you to a dressmaker and have you measured. I know just the woman too, just don't mind the wandering hands, her and her wife have a rather loose commitment to their marriage.

We'll select a good one for tonight, and have her whip up a new wardrobe for the rest of summer. I'm serious about the Lingerie store too. Maybe some shoes, yes, definitly some shoes, and handbags. Oh, listen to me ramble on, better just get started and see where we end up." Cara said.

She stook on a blue glowing square.

"Kreshania's Dress Store." she said.

The tile glowed bright blue, and levitated, carrying the empress off. Her guard jumped on the next one to rise.

"Follow The Empress." he said, and his too levitated and carried him off.

"Your choice ma'am, we can walk or we can take a tile. It's only half a mile, I can run it in a minute flat." Carol's female guard said.

She Stepped on to a Tile.
She would have to break it gently to The Empress that she personally a Handbag person, She preferred Pockets.

Kreshania's dress store had no windows, she didn't need any. Appearently her skill granted her such a reputation, that she worked by appointment only, save for whenever Cara felt like dropping in. Kreshania would never say no to her best client.

"Kreshania darling, this is Carol, she's wearing all she has. I'm optimistic about her future here, so could you do me a tremendous favor and whip her up something fabulous for tonight? And something nice for the rest of the summer of course." Cara asked.

"For you I would leave my wife. Well, maybe not really, but if you ever got curious and wanted to try a woman instead of your husband..." Kreshania said, smiling.

"Sorry, I'm still very sexually satisfied with him." Cara returned.

Kreshania seemed disappointed, but only for a moment, then she turned all business.

"Alright, Carol was it? Everything your wearing, off with it. Dress, panties, bras the whole nine yards." Kreshania ordered.

"I uhh, I'll go patrol the hallway. I'm sure my sister can handle any surprises in here." the lone male guard said, blushing furiously as he walked out and closed the door behind him. Meanwhile Kreshania readied a handheld scanner.

They were the only four in the store.

The elf pressed some buttons, and the holographic image of a dress appeared over Carol.

"Now. while I take measurements, pick and choose design elements for your dress. How much cleavage is showing, or how much isn't, slits up the legs, or no slits. Length of the dress, colors, designs, images, the whole nine yards. Controls are infront of you, just use your hands." Kreshania said.

With that, she whipped out an old fashioned tape measure and got to work.

Carol Began altering the dress.
She started with the colour making it Royal Blue, her personal favorite colour. She Then Altered the dress to make it full length but giving it slits up the legs so she didn't have to shuffle everywhere.
She Toyed with the Idea of Making it shoulderless but decided against it.
She finished with the dress, It showed a bit of cleavage but not too much

"There, I'm Happy with that" She said satisfied

"It needs to be done today Kreshenia." Cara said.

"Sure, sure. Just a few subtle alterations here and there. A seam adjustered here, taken in there, let out here. It'll be comfortably loose, so feel free to wear whatever underneath, or, don't wear anything at all if that's your style." The master seamstress said.

Suddenly a bright flash hit Carol, and Kreshenia seemed to be moving at remarkably fast speeds. It wouldn't take long to realize she had been slowed down, while the woman had been sped up. She was using Carol as the model to make the dress. If Carol tried moving out of the pose she was put into, Kreshenia would move over and readjust her in the blink of an eye, literally.

Shortly, after what felt like five minutes to Carol, or what would feel like five minutes, but was really an hour, a second flash brought both back to normal, and Carol was wearing her new dress.

"You'll want to change back of course, to keep the new dress fresh for tonight." Cara said.

The dress was masterwork, if there was a better dressmaker in the nation, it'd be a hard find. Everything was exactly as Carol wanted, all seams adjusted to compliment her body. A mirror displayed the dress.

"Beautiful. That'll get the men's hearts beating." Cara commented.

"I'll have it sent to the castle via messenger after she changes. For the rest I'll send over a variety of colors and styles, suitable for a lady in the public eye, which she'll certainly be." Kreshenia said.

"Shall we move on then? I know the next ideal stop to complete an important part of your wardrobe." Cara said.

Carol's guard nodded in confirmation. Appearently The Empress knew where all the best stores were, which was to be expected. Payment was never mentioned. It was Cara's welcome present.

Cara lead the way, down and into a shop.

"Well, here we are. I'll be across the way at the juice stand. After all, I don't need to be here for this. But if you feel you need assistance, that female demon by the counter is even better than I am for advice like this." Cara said, then she took the male bodyguard and left.

She had left Carol in a store full of lingerie of all types, catering to all tastes, coming in all styles, ranging from extravagant, to simple.

Besides the normal need for everyday undergarments, it was clear she had been referring to more intimate activities in the future, subtly giving a quiet signal that such things were ok despite being the imperial family.

The female demon by the counter looked Carol over, and sauntered over. Nope, it wasn't an illusion, the demoness wasn't wearing a single solitary stitch of clothing anywhere. Her wings were gauzy, partly transparent allowing people to see through them. Thus despite being wrapped up in her own giant wings, they were ineffective as clothes.

"Welcome, young one. I am universally known, recognized, and felt by virtually every species to have a heartbeat. I am The Deadly Sin of Lust. I'm taking a few hundred years off from my normal activities, as a sort of vacation. I'm just doing this for fun, but then isn't that the nature of a Career? Not much of a vacation if I'm just going to keep on like always, is it?" the demoness asked.

Regardless of their normal orientation, the closeness of Lust would cause most living creatures to feel an intense purely sexual attraction towards her in any form the sin had chosen to take. Already, Carol's Bodyguard had subconciously unbuttoned the top part of her uniform part way. Lustful thoughts burned through the glowing woman's mind, duty and obligation forgotten and neglected.

Carol Was More Shocked than Attracted, She had been one of the few Present at the Premier of Sir Nigel Griffin's 18 rated Cut of his Abridged autobiographical film "The Immortals" Famous for the Part Where he Met the Embodiments of the seven Deadly sins and, surprisingly, Took tea with them.
"Indeed I have heard Tale of you, from My Leader, Sir Nigel Griffin" Carol said Ignoring the Thoughts Flooding her mind "But Enough of Him, If My presence in your shop wasn't clue enough I am in need of some lingerie"

"Oh certainly. I've got all sorts. Let's start with the important considerations. While it's true I despise wearing clothes, when I'm forced to against my will, I at least like them to be comfortable.

Yet, many times, Comfort detracts from the attraction factor. Your here for a male. I can smell it on you. If you really want to grab and keep his attention, you need to know his own personal tastes. Is he old fashioned? Then you'll need hi-cuts and briefs. Is he more modern, then thongs are your answer. Bikini's are a safe neutral way. Alternativly, you could just not wear any at all, they just get in the way.

Oh, but there's more to it then that, more than just a simple bra and panty, corsets, teddies, stockings, the works.

So, who's the lucky man? Who are you gunning for?" Lust asked.

Meanwhile, Carol's guard had moved on to the last button.

"Not today dear." Lust said, removing her influence from the pair.
