"So monachies don't like alliances with one another? Surprise, surprise." Prince-Regent Aron said teasing his daughter. The princess, still shocked from her hypersonic flight back and forth between Osthia was not in the mood for sarcasm. She had just travelled 30,000 kilometers in less then six hours. It was unnatural and not something she wanted to repeat.

"Well an alliance on the grounds of being a monarchy is a bit utopic. After all monarchies are generally very different. Just look at us. Enlightened semi democratic republic with monarchial head of state. What could we possibly have in common with, say an islamic slaveholding emirate?" Aron added sensing his daughters bad mood. "So what exactly is it you want me to do?"

"I want you to invite the monarchs of the world here to Natho. Despite our differences the osthian idea was generally good at last before the issue of an alliance was raised. We don't have to ally with one another to have something in common. My hope is to establish a Conference of Monarchs not based around an alliance but simply established to preserve and promote the proud traditions of monarchies around the world. I as you to invite the monarchs of the world here for me to discuss the opportunities of such a conference with them." Aleera said with the enthusiasm and opptimism of the young.

Aron, after a short hesitation, noded. The idea wasn't bad. "Very well I will give you your chance." He said.

As you are no doubt aware a recent attempt, by my revered grand nephew emperor Arathor I Alcedina of Osthia and Quencilvania, to assemble monarchs from around the globe to discuss the troubles facing our proud traditions has now failed due to disagreements with the agenda of the gracious osthian host.

While I for one does not favor the idea of an alliance of monarchies as it would force the Quendi to cooperate with countries that has a moral set very different from my own I do believe that their is reason for a meeting of monarchs. Given the great attendence at the meeting I am sure that many of you feel likewise.

Therefore I hereby invite you all to the Quendi Exilarchy of Natho for talks and discussions about monarchism and the place of the monarchy in a modern world. While I certainly understand that you do not wish to travel back an forth from your homes and foreign nations more often then neccesary I hope you will take the time to travel to Natho where I assure you that my nation will not push for any alliance between monarchies.

I look forward to welcome you in my city and while I will sadly not be able to attend the actual meeting myself due to an ongoing political crisis my daughter will happily participate in the talks on behalf of the Quendi and I am sure none of you will regret having traded the company of a middle aged boring Prince-Regent like me with that of the young, charming and idealistic Imperatrice.

"A meeting of monarchies?" Prince David mused, "How, quaint."

His son looked at him. Prince Mathew, newly married to the artist Sean Krell, had taken on a new look since his marriage. The failed suicide attempt and subsequent rehab had been kept out of the news, thankfully, but when the Prince the tabloids had had a field day. The headlines and editorials had been scolding and offensive. A pressure group had come about to force him to renounce homosexuality. The Princess-Regent, never one for intolerance, had ordered the group disbanded and all members arrested.

Now, fresh from the SEC conference, he was looking forward to relaxing, so he was keen to avoid any diplomatic engagements. "The Osthian conference failed, what is stopping this one?"

"Aleera is," His sister said, playing with her son. The boy was only 6 months old, having been born whilst the SEC conference was going on. Hey husband, the Prime Minister, was at Westminster on business but would join them shortly. Other members of the Royal Family would arrive shortly. Whilst the King offically had control over foreign policy, the Princess-Regent would have a large say over any involvement of the Holy Empire in this conference.

"I remember Malcolm talking about her. She almost caused a war at the first Conference." Sarah continued.
"Didn't she marry a Bladian?" Mathew asked.
"Perhaps, needless to say, she is an able diplomat to say the least, and would likely keep control over any conference."

"Then perhaps we should attend." Came a voice from the doorway. Standing there, just under 6ft tall, was King Edward V, son of Robert IV. With broad shoulders and jet black hair, he looked remarkably like his father, and Prince David felt the same chill that he had when he first saw his brother speak in Parliament, at the tender age of 17, almost 45 years ago.

"Who to send is the question, though." Edward said, coming into the room. "Uncle are you likely to be free to attend?" He asked.
"Unfortunately not, Majesty. The reforms of the Knight's Templar require me to be here, present in the Empire. Perhaps, my niece would like to visit, given her respect for the hosts."
"I would not like to leave my son so soon." She said.
"What about outside the family?" Mathew said, thinking. "There are able diplomats who could be sent."

Several hours of this went by, with the Prime Minister and Prince Hiros, the adopted son of the Prince David, arrived, adding to the discussion. Eventually a reply was prepared and was sent on the usual diplomatic channel.

Official Communique of the Holy Empire of St George

The Holy Empire would be very interested in any Conference of Monarchies hosted by The Quendi. The Empire feels it is important to maintain good relations with the Quendi and have great admiration for them. Prince Hiros and Prime Minister Major-General John Kingston would be sent to represent the Empire.

However, the Empire would like to point out that, with regret, we can not enter into an alliance at this Conference and any discussion of such would be a waste of it's time, and would likely be followed by the withdrawal from the Conference by the Holy Empire.

In spite of this, the Holy Empire reiterates it's interest in attending this Conference.

"No, no. That wont do at all." Princess Aleera said dismissing the decorations. "I know you nathonians love your roses but this is extreme." She insisted looking around at the many rose arrangements in the luxurious Noh theatre. "I want it elegant and relaxed. Remember this is not a conference nor an imperial ball. It is an informal meeting between monarchs wihing to have discussions about the status of monarchies. We don't want to drown them in your people's pagan feminist symbolism Brutus. I doubt they will like it." The Premier of the Exilarchy, Publius Kaito Cornelius Brutus, noded towards the princess. He was not one to get in the way of the Alcedina.

"As you imperial highness commands." He said gesturing to the decorators to remove some of the rose decorations. "Aleera." A voice called. The princess turned towards the speaker, governor Anasteshia Alcedina. "Greetings your imperial highness." Aleera said with a low curtsey to her cousin thrice removed. "Any news?" The governor returned the curtsey and handed Aleera two printed mails. "It would appear that it isn't going to be just you, me and Aron." The governor said with the closest thing to humor an Imperial Princess of Alcedina could muster in the presence of subordinates. "The Malaysiians and the georgians will send representatives to the meeting." The governor continued.

Aleera smiled and began reading the mails. "Splendid. Make sure to reserve three suites at the Akbarian Hotel for our guests should they chose to stay for the night." She said to Brutus while gesturing for her handmaiden to bring a laptop to type two replies. "Now Anasteshia do you think it would be to formal if I had my father make an introduction speech? I mean we want to keep the discussions informal but his presence would lend a certain credibility to the whole thing?" She asked continuing the preparations. Had she not been a princess Aleera was fairly sure she would have made a great party and event planner

The Imperial House of Alcedina certainly understand the opposition against a monarchist alliance entertained by the Holy Empire. We are ourselves fiercely opposed to such an idea as we consider our status as a monarchy less significant then our stance on several key political issues chief among them of course slavery.

"What a splendid idea." Emperor Lucius Naruhto Cassius Lepidus said as he read the letter from his nephew. While the Empire of Melcenea had largely abandonned its isolationist policy it had so far not establish relationships with any monarchy other then the Quendi one. To the emperor the prospect of getting aquainted with his peers throughout the world was just as appealing as the chance to spend some time with his wifes family. He quickly wrote a letter to his nephew while summoning his car. After all Natho was less then a two hou drive from the melcenean capital.

His Majesty was sitting at his desk, after replying to a trade talks request from one nation. As he flicked through the pieces of paper he had left to read through, he noticed one of the Quendi. He picked it out and read it, as he did so, a smile came to his mouth. "A meeting for Monarchs, to talk about their current position in the in the world. A marvellous idea!" He picked up the phone and called for his Assistant. "A Carson," he usually called Hans by his last name. "Could you arrange for the private jet to be taken to the Quendi, ASAP." Carson looked at His Majesty, "Of course Your Majesty."

Matthew took a sip of his whiskey, and wrote a reply,

Dearest Aleera, Princess of Three Nations,

I was extremely pleased to see your letter! I believe that this meeting is a fabulous idea, and I have ordered for my Jet to get ready at once! I hope that these talks turn out well, even if it ends up being just four of us. I think that you have some very good ideas, and would like to talk to you more, including your father at some time, and I hope to be able to arrange a State Visit after this conference, to do so.

"And we can take them to see the new Opera House. The new opera, Helen of Troy, has received great reviews in the internaional press." Advisor Mysetis enthusiastically suggested. She was one of the greatest opera lovers of the Exilarchy and was also the single largest donator to the Opera House with the exception of the Imperial House of Alcedina.

Several of the advisors noded entusiastically and a secretary quickly wrote the idea down. So far Aleera's informal entertainment commision had made a program that could have keept the foreign representatives occupied for weeks should they want to. Some proposals, like "visit the knitting museum in Catalina" was however not the most gifted ideas.

A servant entered the room handing Aleera letters from the three new participants of the meeting. She was delighted to see that the first three heads of states had decided to come. Including her late husbands grand father. While the commision continued their discussions, engaging in a heated debate about the "political correctness" of showing the red light district, Aleera wrote three replies.

The Tsellian Imperiate, in all its glorious wisdom, will most kindly and will most nobly attend the meeting that has been held most steadfastly and willingly by the noble entities within the Quendi. It is therefore, in the light that the Princess of the Eighth Crown Arnaius has yet to return from her visit in Osthia, that a more proper and suited royal member of the multitude of high families within the 24 clans will attend. As such, be that as it may, Prince Olsud of the Krejeistan empire will attend the meeting, and in most steadfast, he will be representing the Amalgamate in this endeavour.

The subject of Monarchy and discussion in regards to Monarchy will be an important and salient decision and focal point to the discussion that the Amalgamate wishes and hopes to bring unto discourse here today, for it is within the interest of the attending parties that represent the Amalgamate that we can so well create lasting relations with other Monarchies. Of course, considering our ties to the Conglomerate there are a bevy of governmental types that have been seen as valid regimes as friends, but aside from those within the Conglomerate and those that bear loyalty to the Tsellian Imperiate as per kin there have been less connection and dealings than we hoped for.

Therefore, we will be sending the appropriate members to this conference. It is in the interest of maintaining a proper and well attendance, therefore, that we request the exact address of the area so that we may more appropriately arrive on time and so that we can land at the nearest airports, book the most available hotels (of course, with reservations in mind so that we can further continue discourse past a measly few hours if need be) and rent transportation services within your nation so we may facilitate our transport there.

In note, we would like to note that we will be paying for everything incurred ourselves, so any food or drinks supplied may be sent an invoice to Sephilia, who will surely take care of the expenses and most surely we would not want to burden our fellow monarchies with the wrestle of taxing bills and daunting invoices. Roisin Kombarov sat, reading what seemed to be an interesting message. From a far-off land. Which had been passed through to her first by the Government. Of course, she wasn't an absolute monarch, as her uncle had been. And nor would she want to be, having to make all the decisions - and the fact the people of her nation actually liked her. This certainly would be an interesting idea, and would take some careful preparation. With all the various things that could go wrong - Roisin knew she wasn't uptight, but she knew these would be the first things that her Royal Aide's would say to her. So she may as well start planning ahead, as this would be the first proper Royal Trip abroad. She got out her pen, and started to write.

To Aron Alcedina,

I, Queen Roisin I of the Kombarov House of Dyka and Queen of all the Mytanar Nation. Gratefully accept your offer of a meeting, between ourselves. And the various other monarchs, who - I assume - shall be attending this conference. This will be a great opportunity for myself, as it will be the first - proper - royal trip abroad. And the first under the new amendments to our Constitution. Giving myself less power (or, my Uncle..) - as I agreed with the Revolutionaries. I hope to be able to learn a lot about different nations and cultures. Also, to hopefully discuss various pressing matters around the world.

Hopefully, Monarchy will be the focal point of our discussions. But also, we shall hopefully explore other issues, such as Democracy. And why every person deserves their right of choice. Considering the current Party in power in my nation (The Labour Party), and the fact we are part of the Serovskya Pact - will not mean that I am condemned for helping my people have choice, and rights. But rather, help along different nations to a similiar ideal. Giving people more power, and stopping some of the Monarchs in our various nations continuing to just be - the - government.

The fact that I shall be attending, should then point myself, and my advisors to perhaps - some advice from yourselves. About where we could stay, how much security shall be needed. We would also need some way of transport to - hopefully - explore around some of your nation. Obviously amenities such as food and toiletry shall be taken care of by ourselves. Seen as we Mytanars may have a somewhat 'strange' diet to some other nations. We also, would like to say we shall pay for all of these things. So billing will be able to be sent to the Liberation Palace, in Esca our capital. Or perhaps The Alzburg, on the southern isle of Mytannion. Either of these places would be able to facilitate the funding to pay for these things, from my own money of course.

Again, we would like to say thank-you for giving us this excellent opportunity, and that we will most definitely be attending. Hopefully we can use this to further the development of our nations, and others too.

The last two replies that arrived greatly pleased the young princess turned diplomat. Jenrak and Osthia was two important nations for two different reasons. Jenrak because it was the by far largest, most prestigous and mot powerful monarchy which had so far decided to attend. The presence of a jenrakian delegation would probarbly serve to keep the anti-monarchist nations of the world to stay out of the affairs of the meeting.

Osthia because it would have been extremely bad publicity if the host of the original meeting would not be attending. It would have send a signal of division and conflict to the world. Plus there was always the issue of kinship. If such a close relative as the emperor of Osthia had chosen to boycott the conference it would have been very near suicide level in regards to dishonor. While she wasn't afraid of dead Aleera couldn't exactly picture herself taking her own life over such a matter.

"Your imperial highness." An insisting voice said calling Aleera back from her day dreaming. "Yes, what?" the Princess said turning her attention towards the commision she had already regreted she had founded. An elder advisor handed her the colorful pamphlet with the rose banner of Natho on. "We where just discussing if we should put the phone numbers and addresses on some of the higher class brothels on the backside. I mean we want to appear welcoming but not sleazy. What is your imperial highness's take."

For a moment Aleera wondered how on earth she could have possible in her wildest imagination have considered party planning a potential career. Such insignificant details. No politics was the only line of work for her. Just as the advisor was about to say something Aleera declared "Don't put it in the pamphlet. There will be plenty of geisha's that can give the male attendents a more discreet hint. Lets not forget that may people in my social class lack the liberal sexual morals of our people." She turned to write replies to the jenrakians and osthians.

The advisor however had other questions. "And what about gladiator matches? I mean it is brutal and primitive but maybe the foreign leaders will appreciate it. There is after all something ... Refreshing. About such matters." He said. "No we wont host gladiator games. Isn't it semi-illegal? Anyway if the monarchs wish to see a gladiator fight that can be arranged but we don't have to flaunt such behaviour in front of the world. We are already considered barbarians by most western nations. Now let me do my job unless you want me to really do yours." Aleera said with a harsh voice. It was the first time she would host a meeting like this and she was quite nervous and not in the mood to discuss entertainment.

I am certainly not uneasy about your majesty's intention to attend this event. Quite the contrary, I am both honored and flattered that your majesty will chose this meeting to mark the end to such a long period of isolationism. I hope your majesty will enjoy the meeting and make valuable contacts with your majesty's peers among the crowned rulers of the world.

We are both honored and pleased that the great Tezekilth Azhujurius of Jenrak have chosen to send one of its princes to attend this meeting between monarchs. I personally look forward to make the aquaintance of the Prince Olsud of the Krejeistan empire and hope that he, and Jenrak, will find the results of the meeting to be satisfactory.

While we will certainly not wish to step on any toes we have however taken the liberty to provide for all the needs that your delegation could have during their stay in the exilarchy. As for the location of the exilarchy it is located on the island of Joto in the melcenean archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Transport from the Alcedina Airport will be provided by Quendair Helicopter Service and the imperial bureau of VIP transports.

As for hotels we can book rooms at either the Imperial Hotel or the Akbarian Hotel which are among the most popular and luxurious in the exilarchy. Both hotels are accustomed to tending to the needs of foreign diplomats and any special jenrakian customs in regards to dinning, praying or otherwise can be accomodated for.

It would be this humble person a great honor to pay for the stay of the delegation of Jenrak athough I will of course accept it should the jenrakian honor demand that the Tezekilth Azhujurius pays for itself.

It was a long journey to Natho, and vaguely reminded the King of his operations at Konigraetz in the harsh winter of 1990, taking a break to admire the nearby view, Thomas was obroptly greeted by his cocky Chancellor (A man he despised) "Most humble majesty" - Blandon said, sarcastically bowing like a lady, using his Greatcoat to curtsy "You don't do yourself any favours, Chancellor" - the King scowled and Blandon gave a cheeky, yet satisfied grin "Well, I might aswell have some fun, Sir- I still don't know were your last Chancellor 'disapeared' to after he resigned", Thomas clencthed his fists and his gloves squeaked "Enough!- what have you followed me all the way out here for?"
he said angryly "Whoa whoa whoa! your majesty!. . . easy" Blandon flinched whilst still getting some sarcastic comment in, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a letter "Here you are, Majesty" Blandon said as his attitude slowly drifted away handing Thomas the letter and bowing appropriately, He unfolded the letter and spyed the Royal arms of Quendi at the top, without taking time to read the letter onwards, Thomas shooed Blandon "Your dismissed Blandon" he said hastly. Blandon rushed to his car without uttering a word and saluted as he did so. Thomas procceeded to read the letter, a rare sight in his uniform, he had bought ten Royal Guards with him, ten of his finest, his nation being zenophobic in nature, as their representative and sovereign ruler, it was only natural that he be about as zenophobic as them- but he looked forward to the meeting, he figured that fellow monarchs would be as moral and upstanding as the ones he meet when his father was alive, when they visited them.

After all, He had always been taught that Republics were the route of all evil & with this alliance & meeting he could further shield his country from such a ideal. He marched to his car once more, non stop to Natho, ready for his Grand entrance.

Upon sending this letter the king got into his aircraft and began travelling to the conference. He was hopeful the common squabbling wouldn't follow him. It would be most helpful, however this was making Nicholas more and more nervous as tot he thought that maybe there was some salvation for his country.

Empress Grace Vurell Dralien, the young wife of Emperor Arathor, stepped out of her plane after it had landed in Natho. Escorted by only one guard, as she trusted the security she would receive from her husband's uncles and aunts, she made her way to the limousine, and it drove her to the location of the building.

OOC: I mean no disrespect or rudeness to anyone but I am getting a bit to many letters to reply to all of them without making my posts unnecesarily long. Therefore from now on just arrive to the meeting.

Fort Alcedina, Canton of Alcedina
The limousine carrying the osthian empress was escorted by half a dozen of paramilitary vehicles send from the Blue Shirt headquarter in the canton of Catalina. They quickly guided the empress's limousine through the city from the airport to the large Fort Alcedina Complex where the meeting would take place. The complex was a mixture of many architectural styles incooperation the elements of the many great cultures that had lived and prospered in the little enclave.

The complex was dominated by both neo-classic, edo, french empire, melcenean, quendi, tamil and even islamic features giving it a somewhat messy yet very elegant appeal. As soon as the limousine was inside the secure complex the blue shirts returned to the airpot to escort more delegates to the fort.

The osthian empress was driven through the beautiful rose gardens to an elegant pavilion and teahouse overlooking the beautiful lake Alcedina. The breathtaking surroundings had a serene and tranquil feeling that had made it Aleera Alcedina-Aquilaine's favorite spot in the city. The garden, filled with nightingales, swans, herons peacocks and even alcedina's added further to the beauty of the place.

Aleera got up from her divan with a smile as the limousine stopped. A servant quickly opened the door for the empress to step out. Aleera was quite excited about meeting her. After the dead of her own husband her family had considered marrying her of to Arathor and she looked forward to meet the malaysiian princess who had beaten her to it.

The queen qickly disembarked the plane and got into her awaiting transport, Bladian Vehicles and guards, Along with her were 6 Knights of the Blade to guard her, as the cars took off she looked through the window, she hadn't been bak to the homeland for so long, this all felt foriegn to her, she was to used to the Bladian scenery and general happiness of the people, But she kept quiet as they neared the Fort and into the courtyard, as they came to a stop, the vehicles stayed motionless for a second, then the next they were full of life, guards were getting out of the lead and rear vehicles and setting up a sort of friendly perimeter as to not look hostile

Out stepped the Knights, the Bladian crest on their uniforms shone in the sunlight, they took up a formal postion around the car and waited for the queen to exit, as she exited they raised their swords in respect of Queen Alana, as she neared the door they fell in line behind her, the guards still by the vehicles remained motionless as they waited for orders
