Hundreds of Thousands of Velgraedians in Mt.Neville, the country's sixth largest city are protesting against the Britannian Monarchy in Velgrae, and are demanding complete independence and severed ties. Several other riots are happening, most notably in Kings, the capital city. The Royal Military Police has been called in, to counter the riots, and maintain the peace.

"I believe we should be our own nation, the Britannians have no right to our land, we have our own language, culture and thoughts, we have the right to rule ourselves, not by some King." said an angry citizen.

Hundreds Velgraedian protesters have been injured, and 24 have been shot dead by the Military Police. Velgrae is currently a Dominion of Reformed Britannia, and has lengthy ties with it, as well as a say in it's parliament.

Several other thousands are protesting against the rioters, and singing "Rule Britannia", as well as waving Britannian Flags and portraits of the King."

A pro-Monarchy counter-protester had this to say, "Reformed Britannia has done great for us. They have saved us from a Military Junta many years ago, and continue to protect our nation. King Robert shall continue to reign! Rule Britannia, and God save Velgrae!"

The newly-formed FVIA(Freedom for Velgrae Independence Army) has began terrorist attacks in Kings, and has blown up two Cars, at the Velgrae Stock Exchange, a State of Emergency has been declared, and thousands of Soldiers have been called in to the capital and major cities, to uphold the peace...

Some Time Later...
Approximately 4 miles off the north cost of Velgrae
HMIS Invictor
Office of the Commander of the Rajput Expeditionary Force, Lord Rotheringham of Waziristan

Lord Rotherigham closed the door to his office, cutting out the clamour of the bridge outside, and slowly strolled over to his winged leather chair. He sat down with a sigh, and kicked off the riding boots that were part of his dress uniform. As a staff officer, he was obligated to wear the red-coat at all times when on duty, in what had been little more than a tourist stunt by the government. "So," he thought, "here I am again. If you don't keep your wits about you back in Chandrapore, they'll saddle you up with some horrible mission, and one minute you'll be playing billiards on your favourite club, the next you'll find yourself in the middle of nowhere, with some idiot playing "Cock o' the North" into your ear!"
Rotheringham had just returned from a long stint in the African Cape, commanding wargames that had gone on for much longer than evveryone expected. In fact, it had been this victory that had led to him being given this commission, but he was less than enthusiastic about spending another few months on board a tossing ship. Perhaps he would have his command post moved into Britannia, when it was safer, and if they would allow it... Out side his window, he saw a mass of humanity loading tanks onto landing craft. Of course, with the incredible weight of Leviathans, they were more large flat bottomed boats than landing craft.

Meanwhile, on Deck of the HMIS Langour...
Major "Tiger" Jack Moran ducked as a sepoy carrying a pair of bandoliers turned, and nearly hit him in the head with them. "What the devil are you doing man!? Watch where you put those bloody things, they're explosive!" The sepoy looked confused, smiled, bowed deeply and ran off. Bandoliers weren't even being used in these landings, on a friendly beach... The entire deck, the entire ship was in complete chaos though, as tanks floated through the air, suspended by ominously thin-looking chains, and men, Indian and White, ran forwards and backwards, each on his own very important mission, but completely ignorant of everyone elses.
Major Moran was to be the field commander during this deployment, as his commander, Colonel Shere, was currently in disfavour with Chandrapore. His insensitive comments about "colonials" had sparked a series of Anti-Raj riots in New Pyrrhus, and as such, the last thing that was needed was for him to be bought to international attention again.
Some time later, the machines were loaded, their men on board the craft, and the craft slowly making their way toward Valgrae. The noise of their engines was deafening, the power needed to move such large machines was not insubstantial, and all other sounds were loast amidst the churning ocean, and the roar of the boats. Moran sat, like the others, in silence, it being pointless to attempt any conversation, simply watching Valgrea get larger and larger. He expected this to be a fairly easy campaign, against rebels who would lack armour, air support, or naval resources, but he knew from past experience that looks can be misleading, and that whatever happened, he mustn't allow himself to become complacent. Terrorists and Communists from around the world were attempting to buy the rebels, with money, equipment, so who knew what they'd managed to get their hands on...

The C-17 took it's directions from a ground based controller as it made it's final aproach to Republicá. The landing emerged from the bottom of the aircraft and with a squeel made contect with the runway in a textbook landing. The C-17 taxied into a hanger and the unloading began.

A garrison of 500 men, and 13 Storm tanks had been waiting for the Tanks to land for a while.

"Pleased to meet you, I'm Kenneth Hewlett, Commander of the soldiers stationed here. We will escort your soldiers towards Britannia City, where 20,000 of my men are waiting. Look at the time, we should be going now." said the Commander as he walked towards his car.

Cutting into the conversation, Chief Executive Stratton spoke quickly and precisely. Democracy movements are not usually something we want to stand against.

No, sir but in this case its a UR member state and Reformed Brittannia is also a UR alliance member. Lars continues as the two men turn a corner and pause for a moment before a doorway.

Robert nods. And a good friend. Well, this presents a quandary for us. I do not believe we should intervene military to crush freedom seekers. At the same time we never turn our backs on allies. Robert seems to be in thought a long moment then nods again and enters the press room.

Libertarian Governance has received a request from the Dominion of Velgrae regarding a successionist movement. As to the request of our ally. We of course will provide whatever assistance they need per our mutual defense treaty. I have ordered the deployment of two carrier battle groups led by the carriers Blacks Point and Sanderson to the West coast of Velgrae to assess the situation.

Obviously, this development places Libertarian Governance in a difficult position. We support as does the Unified Realm constitution individual liberty and it is in the Constitution's declaration of human rights that quote Individuals have a right to liberty, impartial justice and the pursuit of happiness in all member states unquote. That's very specific language and broad language and we need to look at the current situation and determine if this Monarchist arrangement is really conducive to the declaration of human rights.

In the interim I will dispatch 2400 LGDF D.R.A.G.O.N.s by air to Brittannia City to aid in training and if needed defensive operations. I want to stress that we are not necessarily taking sides here. We are simply acting as our alliance requires. I would like to reach out to all sides and ask, no urge John Strummer, Jerome Holden and King Robert to do what truly is in the best spirit of freedom and justice. It serves no good purpose for the country to collapse into civil war with all the destruction, death, suffering and economic effects that is sure to have.
