Civil Strife in Galatea (Open, MT)

Postby Rhannu » Fri May 14, 2010 1:01 am

==+Rhannu Imperial News Service Broadcast+==
Official Report from the Governor of Naiad
Merionyydd Saethwyr, Emperor of Rhannu and last surviving member of the Imperial Dynasty, was to turn 18 today.

This would have been a joyful moment, with his ascension to full power and the start of a new era for the nation.

This is a day we will all remember forever.

The celebrations never took place.

Today at 11:27 am, the Emperor of Rhannu was shot, and it is unclear whether or not he survives. Our own Royal Regent, Jason Kyrie, has incited a rebellion to take control of our nation with several prominent political leaders, and the capitol has been thrown into disarray, as loyalists and revolutionaries fight each other everywhere. The police force is entirely unsuitable for handling this, and due to the almost total lack of crime in our nation, they're inexperienced. Now the Imperial Militia has blockaded the city to contain the situation, but the conflict rages on inside. Many buildings have taken heavy damage, and the hospitals, although formidable in capacity and care, are flooded. Of the eight million citizens of the capitol of Galatea, it is estimated that so far three hundred are already dead, and thousands wounded. The majority of the populace are barricaded in their homes, but an estimated two hundred thousand people are involved in the conflict between both sides, due to the scale of the damage and chaos.

More as we hear it, from the RINS building in the town of Naiad.

My RP population is roughly 150 million.

==Official Communique of the Far-Reaching Holy Empire of Windica==

To: Whomever it may concern
From: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Windica
721 Malacanang Street, Imperial Central, Chronoa, Windica

The Far-Reaching Holy Empire of Windica offers its support to the legitimate government of Rhannu, and its ailing Emperor. Emperor Edward Jacob VI, Holy Emperor of Windica, hereby orders a mobilization of the Northern Imperial Army to maintain order in Galatea. Meanwhile, the Emperor shall personally come to the city to persuade the Royal Regent to give up in his quest for power.

Coast of Galatea, Rhannu

The Imperial troops have landed on the shore and saw that the situation was dire in the capital. The Emperor, acting as the supreme General of the Army, ordered a messenger to the rebel groups, to persuade them to stop attacking. While this was done, the troops were ordered to stay on the beach and set up camp until the Rhannuan Imperial side sends word that the Windican troops may help.

The town of Naiad, approximately forty kilometers south of Galatea

Governor William McLeod poured himself a glass of scotch as he read over the report for the umpteenth time. He could hardly believe that this was happening. Rhannu had been only peaceful since the reunification after the civil war and now, out of the blue another was dawning. Containing the city was all that could be done, as the militia could not cope with this disaster on their own. He then realized that he was reading the same line again and again. He slammed his fist on the table, screw the report up and threw the report at the bin, missing by a long way.

He put his face in his hands as he tried to strategise, something he was no good at.

The intercom buzzed and he answered it.
"Governor McLeod, we've received a telegram from the Empire of Windica"
He hesitated.

"Bring it in", he replied, in a thick Scottish accent.

His secretary brought in a hard copy of the telegram and left him alone to read it. Opening it, he nearly jumped out of his seat at the news of aid. Now there was actually a means to the end he wished for, time was of the essence and lives were at stake.

He had to call the General.

--

Galatea Port, in the shadow of the walls of Galatea

Captain Elijah observed the Windican troops as they landed on the shore and made preparations. This was a professional army, something that had not been known in Rhannu for a long time. He looked back over the 3rd company and saw a disciplined, yet inexperienced and inadequately armed force. Military technology was lacking, and so much of the weaponry was almost archaic. There were even some gun models carried by the men and women before him that he recognized as almost a hundred years old.

"We're damn lucky they're coming to help us out," he thought, shaking his head. There was no way the Rhannu militia could handle this on their own. He signaled to the troops and they marched at a brisk pace to greet the welcome support, with Elijah in front and carrying the message from Governor McLeod.

Addressed To: Emperor Edward Jacob VI of Windica
Sent From: Governor William McLeod
(This is a photocopied version of a messy handwritten letter, full of scribbles and crossed out words and hardly recognizable as official at all, except for the wax seal that held the envelope shut)
Forgive the lack of proper Imperial Seal and the overall poor condition of this letter, there is no time for such things. Galatea is in a terrible state of emergency. You will find enclosed in this letter a suggested plan from General Vaulk, which details how we would 'prefer' the riots to be broken up and where the biggest problem zones are. Additionally, we've contacted the regent, but he's ranting about how he deserves it and all. Simply put, he isn't going to give it up. It is still unknown whether our Emperor is still alive or not, but we have observed that there is an ongoing battle in the palace and its grounds. On behalf of our nation, I thank you for the generous offering of aid and its timely arrival.

Best Wishes for your health, and Adieu
(The signature at the bottom barely looks like anything at all, almost like the writer was bumped while making it)

(Included in the envelope are a series of detailed diagrams and troop unit radio frequencies for contact, as well as several various high-quality maps of the city. The General has included that Regent Jacob Kyrie and his government associates should be captured where possible and killed where that is not possible. A collection of police force details have been included for the assisted detainment of rioters.)

OOC: The governor of Naiad (second-largest settlement in Rhannu) is basically running the country at the moment, as the responsibility falls to him in the event of the government's control being impeded. My troops are all around the city in companies and are ready to move in.

The Emperor brushed his hair from his eyes, staring to the horizon. Then he turned to the captain of the Rhannuan forces.

"These papers would certainly help us defeat the rebels. As I have read, there is currently a battle on the palace grounds, and it is of utmost importance that the rebels be unable to put themselves in such a fortified position. If they manage to capture the palace itself, I think our cause is hopeless. Nevertheless, we should be able to drive the rebels from there, and my troops will handle all the escape routes. A pincer attack will most certainly defeat the Royal Regent. Also, I need to see your Emperor if he is in your custody. Can you tell me his current predisposition?"

"While we are here, we may as well surround the city. I know you have surrounded the city with your troops, and it seems that your army is rather poorly equipped for battle. They may use our extra ammunition." With that, he ordered all his troops to move towards the city center, and motioned Captain Elijah to do the same.

==+Transmission to the people of Rhannu, somewhere inside the imperial palace+==
Gunshots and screams echo cause background static, but the unmistakable visage of the young Emperor, Merionyydd Saethwyr, comes into focus. His face is pale and a large bandage around his abdomen has a distinct red stain. He's propped up against a wall.

"People of Rhannu. This is your emperor. I am alive. However, many of my dearest friends, most trusted advisors and beloved people are not. The palace is in ruins and we may be on the verge of another civil war. I will tell you now that the only way to stop this reprise is to stop the Regent, whom I had thought to be an ally. Therefore, I must ask you all to cease the rioting and make way for the brave men and women of the militia force. The situation in the pal-"

The brief sound of an explosion blasts out and fills the transmission with audio and visual static for a half-second, then the signal is lost.

--

==+Transmission to the people of Rhannu, from the Imperial Throne room, several minutes after the Emperor's transmission.+==
A man in his late forties comes into focus. His hair is greying and he acts confidently, though is obviously worried and irate, suggesting not everything is going to plan. The visual and audio quality are superb, except for momentary static caused by background explosions

"Greetings Rhannu. We've come to the beginning of a new age. The Imperial Dynasty will soon end, and then the new Dynasty shall emerge! I call you all to be a part of this great event, and to push out these meddlesome people from Windica. When the capitol is ours, the rest of Old Rhannu will be brought to the fold!"

He goes on with a monologue full of propaganda and impossible promises, getting more excited as he goes.

--

The City Gates of Galatea
The letter from the Arms manufacturer, Agadar, was little help for either side. Rhannu's treasury was controlled by the Regent, 'and he couldn't buy any even if he wanted to', thought Captain Elijah.

The huge steel gates receded down into their sheaths in the gatehouse with a dull mechanical clank. Elijah took a quick look at his soldiers and the allied force, then began the advance. As he moved forward he thought over the Police Chief's report. A large portion of the rioters have given up at the news of the Emperor's survival, which makes getting to the palace easier. Unfortunately some thirty thousand are massing at the palace to side with the Regent, who had more than enough weapons to arm them with. All militia units have been ordered to surround the palace but stay out of firing range.

This wasn't going to be easy.

Global News

Civil war has broken out in the small nation of Rhannu. The Emperor appears to have been gravely injured in the conflict, and the revolutionaries are laying siege to the city almost unopposed.

"It is the Great Revolution all over again," notes Radimir Mitya, in his first public appearance this week. "We must assist the revolutionary forces to fight back against the oppressive imperialist government, with which we are all too familiar. Almost one hundred years ago, we were in the same predicament, but the defeat of the monarchy has brought us together ever stronger!"

Grandian military officials are concerned, however, that the leader of the Rhannu rebels, with his unrealistic promises, may be unable to run the country.

"If the rebels conquer, their proposed state does not seem to be particularly stable," says foreign minister Alyona Zaytsev. "If the Rhannu are to throw off the shackles of oppression for good, the rebels will need economic as well as military aid if their entire revolution is not to fall apart at the seams."

"Meddlesome, eh?" Edward spat to the ground after hearing the transmission, which rather surprised the 18-year-old Emperor's advisers. Although quite young, the Emperor had already experienced much for a teenager, and had proven his worth once by defending single-handedly a battalion of rebellious troops in the civil war. However, the situation looks dire as of the moment, with the rebels holding the key positions in the city. The Emperor of Rhannu was still inside the palace and it is unknown if he is still alive or not. The only way to find out is to take the palace, which was certainly a suicide mission.

The 2nd Battalion of the Northern Windican Army confronted rebel troops near the coast of the city. Although in a fortification, the rebels were poorly armed like their Rhannuan counterparts, and it would only take a battering from howitzers to make the walls fall down, and exposing the city to attack. However, since the walls were quite old, and might be a relic to the nation, a General thought it best to consult with the Captain of the Rhannuan forces.

Meanwhile, copies of the transmission made by the Emperor of Rhannu was distributed among the townspeople of the neighboring towns of Galatea to ensure that the regime will be supported throughout the country. Rebel strongpoints around the city were sabotaged, and knowing that the allies of the rebels would have to use the sea to help them, the Imperial Navy blockaded the ports of the country. All merchant ships were checked for hidden army personnel, and enemy ships were threatened.

The City of Galatea, Coast-side

The flotilla of ships that were docked at Galatea abruptly left at the word of aid for the rebels, and moved to assist the Imperial Windican navy. The flotilla consisted of a cruiser, two destroyers and five frigates.

Captain Elijah observed that the Rebels had indeed taken a pair of the city wall's keeps, fortified towers with numerous guns protruding from them. Although appearing formidable, they were indeed antiquated, as were the walls that surrounded the city, despite the fact that they were well-maintained. Additionally they were only made of stone, therefore pathetically weak against modern weaponry. A transmission from the general gave the go-ahead to the troops in taking it down. It could always be rebuilt later.

The entire second division had surrounded the palace, but the first division was still attempting to get past the maze of rebel strong points that blocked their path, with the bulk of its force in a supporting position for the allied forces. Before an attack could be launched, these keeps had to be taken down to make the going easier. The all-clear was given for the Windican artillery.

--

Upper City Streets, Palace-side

Major-General Grant Quentin observed the preparations nervously. He was a civil war veteran, so he knew what it was like to fight his own people, but it didn't make it any easier. The General's orders were to ensure that the palace is surrounded and wait for the first division so an assault could be mounted. Soldiers piled sandbags high and mounted heavy weaponry. The people of the city were provisioning the troops with fresh food, sending morale soaring. He estimated that perhaps two thousand of the rebels had not made it into the palace courtyard, which would account for the numerous pockets of resistance throughout the city. Time was of the essence to ensure the survival of the Emperor, thus he made the decision to speed up the rendezvous, and picked up the radio.

"Colonel."
"Yes, sir?"
"Take the Third regiment and move into the lower city, taking down the rebels as you go. Send each battalion out individually and sweep through to catch as many as you can. Additionally, radio to Major-General Jethro to let him know that you're heading his way."
"Right away sir, we'll be mobilized shortly."

--

Naiad Port

While Galatea might be Rhannu's capitol, Naiad is the location of its naval power. Although the navy lacked advancement like the army, it was more advanced, with models no more than twenty years old, but all well-maintained. The flagship, IRN Aurora, was a small carrier with a capacity of fifty aircraft, all of which was full. It slowly left the port with the escort unit of two heavy cruisers and seven destroyers to patrol for enemy ships, and to support the allied navy. With them went a small flotilla of laden supply vessels to maintain the Task Group and its aircraft.

--

Underwater submarine hangar, somewhere on the coastline of Rhannu

Ten long jet black submarines exited their hangars, gliding under the waves amongst the peace and tranquility of the ocean. Their courses slowly began to diverge as they split into five pairs to assist Rhannu ships and the allied naval groups. There was nothing antiquated about the vorpal beauty of these hunters of the ocean.

--

Approximate Loss of life so far:

Eight hundred Rhannu militia troops dead
Three hundred Rhannu militia troops wounded
Twenty thousand citizens dead or missing
Seventy thousand citizens wounded.

Three... Two... One... BOOM!

One of the keeps fell down as the artillery pounded it. Within seconds, the others also fell down, allowing the armies of the Imperial Rhannu and Windica to advance.

"Sir, it seems we can now take the city and liberate it from the rebels," General Avadere said to the Emperor, looking towards the palace where the Royal Regent must be lurking.

"Yes. Surround the palace and threaten to charge and kill him if he doesn't surrender."

Galatea, Imperial Avenue, Upper City

Corporal James Thompson ran up to join the rest of his squad, at the end of the alleyway. They'd been tasked with flanking the rebel Machine gun nest here covering the main road so that the rest of the battalion could move up. First battalion of Third Regiment had been given Imperial Avenue to clear out, which was a long street with six lanes. It headed from the palace, where the rest of the Second Division was waiting, directly to the city gates. Two privates got out a grenade each. The Sergeant counted to three with his fingers, followed by a chop of the hand and the privates threw them around the corner. The squad covered their ears as two blasts sent dirt and shrapnel everywhere. The entire squad then charged around the corner, ready to fire, but there was no one left standing to fight them. The Sergeant radioed to the Lieutenant Colonel and the rest of the Battalion started moving up. Still no sign of the First Division as of yet.

--

Galatea, Imperial Avenue, Lower City

Captain Elijah Ley's company made the rendezvous with the rest of Second Battalion under the command of Lieutenant Commander Trent Burwood, who was now assuming command of the Rhannu troops on Imperial Avenue. They'd been moving forward with the recon units in front, spying out rebel positions so they could be flanked. This way, they were proceeding well with few casualties. Suddenly there were shouts from up ahead. Elijah moved forward quickly with a platoon to see what was going on. He then heard the recon sergeant's voice on the radio.

"It's the Second. We've found them."
Lt. Commander Burwood's voice then came over.
"Good, let's find out what's going on here."

OOC: Woops sorry. This is only my first RP. Here's the rebel's move.

Rhannu Imperial Palace, Throne Room

Jason Kyrie, former Regent of Rhannu, paced impatiently as he thought about what to do. These Windicans had ruined his plans. Galatea would have been his by now if they hadn't have intervened. While the Arms Syndicate of Agadar would easily be able to outfit the rebel army in comparable equipment, the blockade of the entire city effectively meant there was no real hope of that. While the socialist nation of Grandais sent a message declaring support, none such help had arrived. In the meantime, his force, although large, was running dangerously low on supplies. It seemed that he was on his own, with his master plan in tatters around him. About two thousand of his troops hadn't made it back to the palace, instead digging in to hold off the 'loyalists.' Now they were falling back in disarray and being killed or captured by the troops that have closed off access to the palace.

Although things seemed pretty bad, the Regent was always a quick thinker. His new plan would perhaps level the playing field...

--

Rhannu Imperial Palace

All was quiet outside. For the first time in a few days, the Loyalist militia were getting some good sleep in. Major General Grant Quentin had allowed for minimal sentry duty. It was highly unlikely that the rebels would sally out now, considering that they hadn't already.

In the front of the palace, some small, almost unnoticeable hatches swung slowly open. Nobody saw it, as the sentries were playing poker or having a smoke. A long black tube poked it's way out of each hatch, and stayed there for a several moments, almost unmoving. With a sudden roar the end of one exploded into a plume of fire, firing a shell into the front line that sent shrapnel and napalm everywhere in a huge radius, creating a swathe of burning and screaming. Soon after the others all fired, breaking huge holes in the barricades that had been made up by the loyalist troops. Initially panic spread just as fast as the fire and shrapnel from the blasts, but then the training got the better of them, and they held off for whatever was next. As the guns poked out again, so did machine guns in the windows.

Before the loyalist troops could react, the palace doors swung wide open, at the front and sides, and a huge torrent of rebels stormed out and into the palace grounds. They were firing and screaming and running as fast as possible. After a slight hesitation, the soldiers opened fire into the advancing horde, killing hundreds with their old but effective automatic weapons, and the rebels repaid this in kind from the palace windows. Another salvoe fired from the palace artillery into the line of barricades and troops, also killing many. Soon enough, however, the much larger rebel force clashed with the loyalist troops in hand-to-hand combat. The rebels brandished bayonets, daggers, clubs, anything that they had found. The Rhannu soldiers had to make do with the 60 cm long dirks and revolvers they had as sidearms. It wasn't long before General Quentin, clutching at a wound in his side, called the order to retreat, for those who hadn't already been routed by the initial charge.

Watching the loyalists run, the rebels sneered and taunted them, gunning many of them down as they ran, as well as finishing off the wounded. They had won this day, as well as a whole lot of weaponry and fresh supplies that had been left behind.

Battle Report:
Initial Loyalist Troops: 10,000 (Entire Second Division)
Initial Rebel Troops: 38,000

Loyalist Losses: 4500
Rebel Losses: 900

Loyalist Wounded: 3000
Rebel Wounded: 1500

Result: Crushing defeat for the Loyalist troops' Second Division.

EDIT: Just remember that there's a large defensive naval blockade around my coast, and the only settlement you'd be able to get into without a fight is Galatea (my capitol & scene of the action), which is coastal.

"This problem is getting more and more worriesome by the moment, gentlemen. We should now assault the city to get even with these rebellious people," the Emperor said to his audience consisting of the military leaders of Imperial Rhannu. "I suggest we should now charge and destroy the troops inside the palace. If possible, we should capture the Regent himself and put him in trial for treason."

The next day, because the rebels were already in a fortified position inside the palace, there was nothing more to do than raze the walls of the palace and introduce the Loyalist and Windican troops from there. Artillery pounded the walls of the palace as rebel troops around it were either being shot down or fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, the highly-efficient and superbly trained Imperial troops prepared to capture the palace, intending to take no prisoners but one: the Regent, who will be brought to trial for his treason.

Galatea, Upper City

The second division, after suffering a massive defeat, moved the bulk of its remaining forces to Naiad for safe medical treatment and to recuperate. Three battalions from the fourth regiment, however, remained behind to assist with the final assault on the palace, placed under command of Major-General Wayne Henderson, leader of the First Division. After attending the meeting called by the Emperor of Windica, along with his Colonels, he had deployed his forces appropriately, ready for a large attack to storm the palace and regain control of the city. Although he didn't like the idea that the nation he loved was too weak to quell a rebellion on its own, he had to face the facts. They had no hope without the superior experience and armament of the allied troops. Therefore he waited impatiently to attack, once he received the order.

==+Transmission, Location Unknown+==

The familiar visage of the Emperor comes onto the screen. He is visibly fatigued and in pain, although he is failing in trying to hide it. The camera is zoomed in on his face and upper neck alone, so the rest of his body cannot be seen. However, a trail of dried blood down the left side of his face indicates a head wound. The audio and picture quality are poor, with dull booms in the background and he speaks in short gasps.

"My people... From my last... transmission... you probably... think me dead." He swallows.
"Although... I've been... advised... against this... I want... you all to know... that I am... alive... and safe. I... can only... reveal my... location... when the palace... is secure. Until then..."

The signal goes dead.

OOC: The emperor is safe from the bombardments, which is his indication by saying that he is 'safe.'

With the Emperor of Rhannu safe, the Emperor of Windica felt that it is imperative that they should not delay the liberation of the city. With the Third Imperial Artillery Division of Windica, the Emperor ordered the attack on the enemy fortification. To trap the enemy, in case they flee, troops were stationed at the far end of the city, hidden in public buildings which offered most cover to ambush fleeing rebels and to capture the rebellious Regent.

As the walls of the palace fell down, the Emperor ordered the charge of the Seventh Imperial Armoured Cavalry and the Third Imperial Infantry Battalion, with the cover of the Imperial Guard, against the rebels. He now expected that this rebellion is nearly quelled.

OOC: The Cavalry are tanks, the name just stuck through the centuries.

Imperial Palace, Throne Room

To say that Jason Kyrie was unhappy was an understatement. He yelled, throwing his arm at a priceless vase and smashing it to pieces, sending water and beautiful flowers everywhere. Blasts resounded throughout the acoustically designed interior of the magnificent palace. A bloodied rebel soldier ran into the room, panting.

"Sir, they're coming this way, they'll be here in less than ten minutes!"
The Regent's eyes narrowed. He pulled out a large caliber revolver and fired directly at the man's head, sending shards of bone and pieces of brain matter everywhere. The two guards at the entrance took a look at each other, and tried to run. He gunned them down too.

Turning, he went and removed the device he'd hidden under the throne. If he was going out, it'd be with a bang. He allowed a cruel smile to cross his face. Ten and a half minutes would do it.

Galatea, Imperial Palace

The troops charged and swarmed into the palace with ease. The rebels were panicked and running wild. Some fought to the death, but many killed themselves to avoid the consequences of being captured by Rhannu forces. Even more were gunned down by Windican forces, who showed no mercy. Finally, they had reached the throne room.

Jason Kyrie stood in the center of the room, looking up at the tapestry above the throne that bore the Imperial Seal of Rhannu. "I was going so well..." he mumbled. The regent turned to face the allied forces that opposed him. I'll be seeing you all later. With that he raised his pistol and fired three shots before having a bullet put in his hand and both of his legs. As the soldiers ran up to arrest him, a strange sound began, getting louder, like that of some sort of device charging up. They all stood there for a moment, dumbfounded, as an electronic buzz filled the room. Then there was silence. A Rhannu soldier looked at a Windican soldier. Then the whole squad vaporised.

On the outside, Major General Wayne Henderson was watching the capture of the palace with contentment. Suddenly a huge white light emitted from the palace, causing him to need to cover his eyes. An explosion rocketed out from the center of the palace, destroying everything in its path. Henderson scrabbled away from the window and ran for the basement of the house he was in. Any stranger passing by would never have been able to tell that this ruin was once the jewel and heart of the Rhannu Empire.

From one of the remaining towers of the wall, the Emperor saw the explosion. Bright light erupted from the palace as it fell into itself, turning the core of Rhannu government into ruins.

"Well, at least the rebels are no longer, with Kyrie dead; we now just have to find the Emperor," he said. "But we have to console many families back at home."

He dispatched a messenger to the area where the palace was, and bade him to take a message to the Major General, who led the charge to the palace. All in all, the Northern Imperial Army had been stripped of some of its best men, but now it is time to leave as the rebels are now defeated.

To: Major General Wayne Henderson
From: Emperor Edward Jacob VI

I and my troops are of no use now in the country, we will be leaving in a few days' notice. However, we will be transferring money to the Rhannu government, in hopes of upgrading its forces and bettering its welfare programs. Also, some of our troops and ships will remain here to set up a military base for Windica, if you don't mind.

As for your missing Emperor, we only hope that he surface now, as his country is in ruins and he is the hope of it. In the event he has also perished in the explosion, I advise you to choose a leader quickly, for your weakened position attracts invaders.

Farewell, dear friends. We hope we shall meet again in the future, and we invite you to build an embassy in our lands.

Former Imperial Palace, Galatea

Major-General Wayne Henderson observed the ruins and the search for the Emperor. Everyone would remember these events forever, with sadness. He would remember it more so, due to the burn down his left cheek that he received as he had ducked for cover. He had a terrible fear in his heart, for the loss of young Merionyydd would be disastrous for Rhannu. Governor McLeod was doing his best to hold things together, but a new dynasty would have to begin sooner or later. He was then distracted from his thoughts as one of the soldiers called for him. He jogged over quickly, eager to see what had been found. As he joined the soldier, he saw the Emperor and his remaining attendants struggling through the rubble. A surge of relief flowed through him, as he quickly sent the corporal to get assistance. Vaulting easily over the wreckage, he ran to the Emperor's side, supporting him as he walked. Merionyydd smiled weakly and nodded at the appreciated help. Governor McLeod was informed shortly

The people of Rhannu are indebted to you and your soldiers without your swift reply, we would not have this rebellion contained. I have recently been informed of the survival of our Emperor, whose living has been cast into doubt several times over the course of these events. There is a beach 40km south of Galatea, which would be a prime location for you to construct a military base. We welcome this request with open arms, as do we gratefully accept the monetary donation, which will be put to good use. With it, we will go along with your recommendations and upgrade our military, along with the reconstruction of the city. We will certainly build an embassy in your Empire, and we offer to you a military alliance in the event that we may be able to assist you, should you have a time of need. Once again, I thank you for all you have done for us. The people of Galatea - indeed, all of Rhannu - will never forget the valiant service that you gave to us.

I also offer to you and your men to resupply at Naiad, as we have ample facilities to do so with.

OOC: I'll make a request on your embassy page when I get around to it...

As sad as the events of late have been, there is still hope for us. His Majesty, the Emperor, has survived this conflict and will live to lead us out of this tragedy. He now rests in the Capitol Hospital, but has swore that he will not let such an event happen again.

Indeed, now is the time to look to the future and move on from the past. One thing that will not be forgotten, however, are the countless lives that were lost during the fights against the insurgents, both ours and Windican. Our Allies in this conflict will never be forgotten, and in the celebrations that have now started around our nation, millions drink a toast to the Rhannu Militia and the valiant soldiers of Windica.

To: Governor William McLeod of Naiad,
Emperor Merionyydd Saethwyr
From: Emperor Edward Jacob VI

We accept your praises with humility and thankfulness.

As for the military alliance, I am very thankful that you returned that you have the goodwill to offer us such an alliance with your Empire. From now on, the Empires of Windica and Rhannu will be forever allies, and rest assured I will be there in the Capitol Hospital later to affirm this with a written treaty. I will also be there, of course, to visit his Highness and acquaint with him, seeing as he was missing all this time and I had no chance to talk with an Emperor who is as young as me.

To the Emperor, I say this. As the new leader of a war-torn country, I beg you to be wise in your affairs as Emperor. I and my people, are quite happy to help you out, and maybe you can visit my country in the near future.

Military Pact Between the Powers of the Far-Reaching Holy Empire of Windica and The Empire of Rhannu

The Emperors of Rhannu and Windica hereby sign this document as affirmation of the friendship between the two countries.
The provisions of this treaty are as follows:
  • The lease of the Windican military base near Galatea, to prevent further insurgencies in Rhannu;
  • free trade between Rhannu and Windica; and
  • the establishment of the Windican-Rhannu Alliance, where both powers shall swear that an attack on one is an attack on all.

OOC: Thanks for this RP, I had a fine time. If you ever need more help, you know where to go.
