Dead Man's Land
The Raznarad Incident
The Raznarad Incident
Amendaz, Bornion Star System
Raznarad, Dead Man's Rock
1506 Hours of 2609 - June 6, 2435 (CSC)
Napulze sat in his wrecked abode, sat and watched the limp corpse of a dying baterian struggle to stand up. It's insect-like body twitched in anger and pain all at once has it had begun to scratch the floor with it's small underarms. After a few moments of satanic bliss, Napulze, the battle-hardened rebel, stood up and fired a single round into the aliens soft, blood soaked skull. This caused the alien to twitch one last time before it fell dead. Napulze starred, flapped his hands, and walked out of the hut, and into the favela which covered the sun parched plateau known as Dead Man's Rock.
In front of him was a cliff, which fell a meter or so down to the lower plateau, the Under Belly is what they called it. From here you can almost walk across the roofs of the entire town, but the likely hood that one of them collapsing upon touch made this a rather dangerous and illogical idea. The huts provided enough shade for the variety of alien life that lived on this planet, protecting the insectoids and humanoids from the 100-degree plus weather which blared down on any unlucky workers picking Pincill Weed in the vast farming land covering the western edge of Dead Man's Rock.
At this point Napulze began to walk down a rather rickety-looking staircase and into the dark corridors of Raznarad, better known as Favela City. Upon reaching the bottom he met two men, dressed in rags with their faces covered, they both carried modified AK's, one with a plasma emitter and another with an extended barrel and scope. They nodded towards Napulze and proceeded to walk with him into the center of the favela. They soon arrived in a courtyard where they met another, much larger, group of shady looking men. One walked forward, introduced himself as Abdul, and waved a baterian soldier from the crowed. This alien, who appeared to be a veteran in war, had a robotic limb in place of it's main right arm, within it was a disk.
The alien sniffed Napulze before handing him the small compact disk. Although disks such as these were quite archaic, dating back hundreds of years, they are untraceable due to their lack of FTL tracking systems embedded in more modern storage devices. Napulze looked at the disk, examining the small scratch marks in the frame, and placed it in his thong which had been loosely sacking on his thigh up until now. He nodded, and proceeded back to the top of the plateau, followed by the two guards who escorted him to the courtyard.
Agent Sterling, who had up until this time been sitting near the dried-out fountain in the center of the courtyard, stood up. With a pistol cleverly concealed within his rebel disguise, he began to walk into one of the huts following up behind Napulze. He sneaked in, trying not to raise to much suspicion with his "brothers in arms" and crawled through a ground vent that led to a central pathway up to the top of the plateau.
Sterling followed the narrow pathway until he caught sight of the rebel commander and pulled out a small scope-like device known as a LOCTRAK. After carefully locking on to Napulze he quickly sneaked back into the corridor. The device he had just used placed a laser designator on Napulze, which is projected via a artificial satellite orbiting the planet. This satellite will continue to track the rebel commander and send a constant feed of information to the mercenary ship inbound towards the desert wasteland known only as the planet of Amendaz.
Sterling sighed, as he knew this mission wouldn't be as easy as his last.
