Izbor Karet Dam
Northern Takika
March 30 2016

The Karet dam was a grand edifice of concrete and metal that had cut through the Lepod, a harsh, sadistic mistress no longer worthy of the name of a 'mother river', right at its beginning flows, liberating the Takikan people of the horrors of floods and consequential destruction and granting them new benefits with the hydroelectricity produced. In the days of its construction, the workers had toiled endlessly in an effort to free the nation of potential water disasters, and with the erecting of the grand edifice lead the nation to prosperity harnessing the Lepod's rushing waves. They dared what even the bravest Stakhanovites would hesitate, crumbling mud and dissolving rocks they stepped on, great heights at which they laid bricks and fought the waves. Many fell, swept by cruel cascades or collapsing from the cliffs, yet they continued on. Finally, after months, the dam was completed, christened with the dictator's name, he was of course worthy of the name with the common recognition of his role of brilliance in guiding Takika to prosperity and greatness from a backwater plagued by natural disasters. Though petitions were made to rename the dam, most still believed that Karet was worthy of the barrier's name.

That was of course, the older days.

Many thought the coming of Democracy would signify Takika's elevation into yet another stage in its miracle, its success, and many had that spirit in mind when they cast their ballot at their local offices in December 1987. The first government was largely capable of sustaining Karet's success, but later generations slowly wore off as many issues came to public light. Corruption, political dishonesty, even with the shaming light of scandals politicians could not be removed from their positions. However the country was open to foreign investments, these could not prevent the economic figures from going downhill in the long run, the indecisive career-politicians could not solve the social and economic problems they unleashed with shock therapy and liberalization yet still pocketed the money while the country fell into decay.

The people were of course not dumb. They had witnessed and experienced this all by themselves, they paid dearly for this, only to feed a few oligarchs at the top who lacked strong will. Dissatisfaction grew. Many movements had rose to protest this unfair leeching of the nation, what was essentially theft of Karet's achievements and the country's hard-earned prosperity.

The seething grudge would remain sealed, dangerously growing stronger and getting closer to rupturing open its container every day. And indeed that moment had came early as the goddess of the earth herself shook herself with her much-loathed might, dissolving this monument of the old days of prosperity to finally ring the bell that Takika was essentially back as it is, before Karet.

Great rumblings came from deep under the ground. Workers and maintenance personnel - reduced to a skeleton crew due to budget cuts - at the Karet dam were immediately warned and had rushed quickly to monitor what might be going on. Many of them had worked here since the first days of the dam, and had swore their lives, devoting them to the continuous standing of the great edifice. But indeed they had grew old like the dam and were not as capable as they were before, their wrinkles revealing and their muscles less powerful than before, the speed of them rushing down the hallway was even slower. The younger ones were first apathetic, but recognizing what an earthquake would mean they too had panicked alongside the older ones.

"What is it?"

"Confirmed by observatories elsewhere, earthquake, source in Tordos, 8.8 Richter-"

"What was the threshold estimated when they first built the thing?" a young man with glasses interrupted impatiently.

"...well Yeker I'm afraid it's only going to serve as psychological comfort but-"

A violent shake struck through the room, the roofs visibly about to compromise even with individual slabs falling down. The lights had went out, along with the power source. Screams from the female workers, as usual. Everyone that had huddled here ducked per instinct, their hands twitching as the fingers joined above their heads.

"-9.2 at original design. However, the maintenance these years have gone badly, most of the cement-"

Yet another rumble, with several parts of the roof collapsing and causing numerous non-major injuries to the attendees.

"-let's just say that the dam's not guaranteed to survive." the scientist concluded, grimly. He gazed at the dam which could fall at any moment, melancholy written all over his aging, unshaven face.

After around half an hour of mental agony, paranoia and fear over the inevitable fall of the dull-grey construct visible from the complex's windows, the earth had decided to end the suspense by striking with appropriate force at that exact moment. Before the crew's very eyes the disintegration of the dam was carried out, the cement and the concrete melting into sedimentary sludges as water poured from the first cracks. Falling chunks of grey were dismembered and the roaring waves devoured them swiftly, spitting out the remains. Pouring over the rapidly falling edifice, a long-suppressed seething force had displayed its full prowess, submerging any traces of the dam that once stood and cutting away great chunks of the rocks around. No more. Even sections of the attached complex had been swept away, as if they never existed.

The waters never seemed to fade as they roared over where the dam once stood. Maintained constant was that great force which had smashed what humans could have thought be able to stop the forces of nature, and now, a long-suppressed devil released, few had any idea what would happen to the downstream towns and cities.

Otiver
Takikan west coast
June 12 2016

Otiver sat at the mouth of the River Stazhos, one of the few prosperous cities that had been that way before Karet's revolutionary years. Long before. Here, wealthy merchants from other countries unloaded their goods, their great ships testimonies to their financial might as well as Otiver's status as one of the few 'port towns' that had made a fortune purely from trade. Now, even with the loss of interested merchants due to the obvious civil conflict going on, it lasted as a seaside resort with its sun-shone beaches forever golden, a high content of shiny silicon crystals creating one unique property which had been successful in attracting tourists. Few remained, tourists or businessmen, though.

Kaner Berun gazed outside. The environment did not at all fit with his current emotions, it in fact contrasted starkly, although one point of similarity could be found in the lack of anyone present on the beaches for the purposes of leisure. He had been deposed two months prior by General Navony, who had pronounced the death of the status of Takika as a democracy, and all the evils that had came with it. Come to think of it, he was extremely lucky the soldiers didn't shoot him and the entire cabinet right on the spot.

Maybe he did think about changing things. But the earthquake kicked in, at the wrong time.

He turned his eyes back into his room, his hands concurrently gripping onto a remote controller. The big red button he pressed without further thinking.

The arrow button was thumbed quite a few times. Finally, an international news channel, something that wouldn't be filled with news on Takika's civil conflict.

But it didn't look right. Why is it also playing that footage of the Technate rebels firing a mortar in the outskirts of Buskeja? He direly tried to compare the logo of the channel, obviously not something out of Takika, with that of the footage. Indeed, the news channel was broadcasting exactly content on the fight outside Buskeja.

He thumbed the switching button again. Another channel, pretty much same thing. The third one had just ended on a report on the conflict and had started its finances programme which Berun couldn't care less about. The fourth one was probably some state news service of a socialist state, judging from the unholy amounts of red on the screen and the star in the channel's logo, what it broadcasted was basically a clip advertising the LATP's deeds in all but name. The name of the LATP was brought over rather quickly and commendations of another group came up, but these were all sufficient to prove that the conflict has been gaining...significant attention.

Heh, we've gained celebrity status.

Potential Investment in Takika

Postby Yohannes » Fri Jun 24, 2016 3:45 am

June 15, 2016
Kingdom of Burmecia
Empire of Yohannes

“… They sure are good at gaining significant attention…”, all eyes focused on the screen. Television Yohannes six o clock news had finally touched on the chaos engulfing Takika; A land of complex river systems and dams. The district and regional councils of the Kingdom of Burmecia were more than used to the challenges arising from such a geography, for there was a reason, after all, that the third largest country in Yohannes were known for its nickname: ‘the land of eternal rain and rivers.’

But the similarities end there, for where Burmecia was one of nineteen countries prospering from their collective trade under a united front with over 700 foreign nations abroad, the Republic of Takika, in sharp contrast, was unable to lift its foreign investment and trade in years. Finance Minister Robert Scottish was not well acquainted of Takika’s unfortunate situations and problems, nor were the briefing given that morning was adequate to fully depict the extent of problems facing that nation. But he sympathised nonetheless, frowning sadly as he hears of the wasted years - the failures of succeeding governments to follow on the initial jump start of prosperity brought forth by the late Izbor Karet, though a dictator he may be, and to therefore lift the already inadequate standard of living of its people.

“Our legation officials have confirmed of our lack of diplomatic presence in that nation, Minister”, speak the man to his left, one of the many treasury officials shuffling their feet to follow on the Minister’s daily pace, every single day, forever hopeful, waiting for that promotion that would hopefully greet them one day.

“… of further note, our diplomatic officers have noted the likely involvement of the rising powers on Takaka’s soil.”

“…Greater Nihon… United Remnants of America…”

“I am of the sound position, Minister, that we should remind steadfastly clear of this… quandary, and not be involved in the slightest way possible in any unnecessary minor quagmires.”

“As I am sure Your Honourable would be well acquainted with, Her Majesty has expressed her intention that, despite of the more than sound economic capacity of our nation this cycle, and the strength of the Commonwealth Navy at present, a policy of neutrality – to accommodate our peaceful expansion of trade – must be prioritised at all cost.”

“These nations... such as Greater Nihon and the United States Remnants of America, are two among many rising powers we have identified for quite some time, which we cannot afford to be in disagreement with, commercially or diplomatically.”

“Unless… of course, their representatives and officials provoke us first, to which we all know what the outcome will be.”

“… are Lamoni… or Lyras, or Ralkovia involved on this one?”, inquiry arriving from the right side of the room.

“No… it seems that we are the only one, so far anyway.”

“Greater Nihon, however, is of course a fellow Dienstadi nation… she, together with the Empire of Common Territories, are fast rising powers – on course of eventually eclipsing their SACTO and non SACTO brethren. If that fact alone already raise our interest, then it would perhaps raise the interest of President Stinson of Lamoni too.”

“… or the Warmarshall…”

“Hahaha… I think you are overthinking a wee bit too much there lads”, replied another man. Though after all, isn’t that the beauty of foreign affairs and international diplomacy, and why we are here today.”

“I am sure we are of the agreement, ladies and gentlemen, that opportunities would possibly arise out of this sad… event”, the Minister raised himself in reply, turning left and right to face each and every single one of his audience; all eyes fixed on him. “Whoever… or whichever faction will come out victorious will surely decide the future of that nation… and its people…. And I am sure we all can agree on one thing to follow on that conclusion…”

“Investment… foreign investment, will be of, I daresay, high demand. And that is where we will come.”

“Let me correct that… you will come,” the Minister smiled to his right, facing the bald man still seated, head looking down, intent and fully focused.

“Please… it is unbecoming of you to be this informal, Minister.”

“Oh… you are, after all, the Governor of the Yohannesische Bundesbank [Federal Bank]. You have the answer, Jim, not me, or the rest of the lads. I am a wee bit late on my next one, so if you can briefly say your…”

“Yes…”, the man replied, smiling. No need to be such a cheeky bugger, mind you.”

“Oh…”, the tension and anxiety were lifted from the rest of the room.

“Shots fired”, the lady with a Lamonian accent smirked.

“Let’s see... neoliberal policy in overdrive. Investment and capital for foreign countries prioritised over the rising house prices of Treno.”

“It’s time for a change of government… commented an anonymous keyboard warrior on the Herald website.”

“I can see the domestic headline portraying our benevolent and long term strategic approach to Yohannesian foreign policy – of investment, of wealth and capital production growth – be abused by our fellow leftist green and lite labourite members of parliament already.”

SELAT TIGA NAVAL BASE
BULAN SABIT ISLAND
KINGDOM OF BULANESIA

Crates of basic supplies such as food, medicines and water were being loaded on to the Bulanesian Navy's littoral combat swath, the KKB Abu Yusuf, standard stuff for a humanitarian mission. Escorting the KKB Abu Yusuf for the humanitarian mission in Takika would be two corvettes, the KKB Ali Ahmad and the KKB Mat Sulaiman waiting up north at the East Tanah Raja Naval Base.

Although the purpose of the mission was humanitarian relief,it was apparent that it wasn't the lone purpose. Video cameras,DSLR cameras, and audio recording equipment were brought onto the KKB Abu Yusuf,a bit unusual for simply distributing aid. Obviously, there was something else planned...

BULAN TOWER
BULAN PENUH ISLAND
KINGDOM OF BULANESIA
"As we know, there are four sides to this war." "Two of them are ideology-based rebel groups, the LATP and the Technate Movement," a suited man was speaking in the front of a conference room. The man was Director Daud, director of the Bulanesian intelligence agency KERIS and National Defence Council.

"Every ideology,be it communism or technocracy has supporters and haters who would be willing to help others of their ideology or destroy groups of an ideology that they're not a fan of. Their dedication to or against an ideology is powerful enough that they'd intervene in some civil war in a country that they just read about yesterday," Daud continued.

A young man was seated in the middle of the conference table,a seat reserved for the King of Bulanesia. He interrupted Daud, "Straight to the point, director."

"Yes,your majesty. My point is that this war will attract a major foreign intervention. Thus, this is a perfect opportunity for us to observe and study how different countries as well as the rebels operate their military. With this knowledge, hopefully we can learn a little bit more about how to prevent our own country from becoming like Takika."

Everyone sitting at the conference table had a face showing that they were interested but a bit suspicious of the plan.

"Personally,I have no objections. If no one else has any complaints,I approve of this plan." the King proclaimed.

Mahmood al-Bazri's Giant Mansion, Undisclosed Location
As the news rolled in, Mahmood could care less, the man was drowning in his own fortune, with the amount of money that he had, Mahmood had the ability to fund wars and oust governments. One of his many "investments" was Triple Barrel, a private military company infamous for its unethical conducts in war torn nations. Triple Barrel gained its utmost notoriety when a video surfaced showing its "employees" executing anti-government guerrillas in Bawdon. As Mahmood took a sip from his drink, the news rolled in about sports, he of course, muted the channel, but when the red urgent news banner was shown, it caught his attention. This time it was different, it wasn't something local, and it wasn't about anything about the present Omarian - Yavonian conflict, it was about Takika.

"Takika? Hmmmmmm...." Mahmood was puzzled, as he didn't have to do much studying when he started getting richer and richer from his trades. As he viewed the news, he called Omar Abdulla, the PMC's field commander, who supervises field operations conducted by the company.

"You seeing this?!" said Mahmood in a hurry.

"Seeing what?" replied Omar.

"Come over, we have something to discuss" replied Mahmood.

Once Omar had arrived Mahmood eagerly tries to explain the urgent news.

"Seems like an earthquake and lots of chaos, I see an opportunity" exclaims a laid-back Mahmood, referencing a possible interference. "I'd like you to tell me whose involved in this, and what can we do in this situation?" he continued.

"I'll see what I can find, and I'll come back later on." replied Omar.

Hours later...
Omar later comes back to the mansion, with a small map in hand.

"Well boss, here is the basic situation, I've heard on the news that its a big BIG earthquake, between 8 and 9, I can't confirm. A rather big dam collapsed and the country is in chaos, of course, the government is quickly collapsing due to a civil war. There are several sides in this conflict, you have the government itself, I personally would go against helping them, then you have the military junta, commies, democrats, and technate rebels that want the government to become a technocracy. Now if you really want to get involved, then I'd say not on a big scale, as this doesn't seem like an easy situation, and with a smaller interference, we can pull out of this quite easily when we need to."

"Technocracy, I see it as the best option. I mean, here we hate democracy's guts, and communism never works, the government is falling, and the junta is in a hairy situation, so yeah, the Technate. exclaimed Mahmood.

"So what, you'd like us to oust another government or your in it so we can see the country's "pearls" as you call it?" said a puzzled Omar.

"Were gonna help the Technate, but were also going in for some benefits, personal gains and the BS, you know" replied Mahmood with a smirk on his face. "Now tell me, what will you need?"he continued eagerly.

"Wow, hold your engines there. You know we can't go in guns blazing. We'll need to coordinate with the Technate, we'll need a secure landing zone, and we'll need to set up a small base of operations. I'll need between 200 and 600 men." replied Omar.

"Only? That's too little of a number, remember, we need to help the Technate too, we can't be seen as bounty hunters or mercenaries right in this situation, or right from the start at least" exclaimed Mahmood.

"Hah, we all know that you have billions in hand, but nonetheless, you know that all of who work in this company are in for the dime, they risk their lives, and expect a good payment in return plus, we don't have any possible rules that protect us once we are there, therefore we need a pretty good payment, and smaller number would guarantee that you'll make pretty good money out of this. Smaller, but more efficient, that's what you'll need here, not going in blazing with a thousand men expecting to win the war. About the technate, we'll go in, teach them how to fight, we'll go into their country as hired military advisors, that'll be the best cover. I'll gather some of the best men I could find, some of them served with me for years when I was in the military, and I can vouch for them. Now, I'll need you to inform the technate's leaders, tell them that we're gonna help them." said Omar, while smoking one of the cigars on the table.

Viten Navok
1st Peoples Assault Brigade
Stazhoz

He glanced around at the people assembled before him, each a integral member of the revolution. Orzan, Merov, Rekal,Geoffrey. Each was in charge of a unit, and each was very skilled in commanding that unit. "Comrades, as we speak my 1st Peoples Assault Brigade makes final preparations to begin a siege of Prizhekal. Once the bourgeoisie government is driven out of the north then we shall have nearly uncontested control of north. However, we will likely loose our supportive cities in the south unless we can reinforce them. Because of this brothers, I believe it is time to ask the world for help. We must ask our global comrades to aid us, our factories are already nearing their capacity and we are still growing strong. And we lack any heavy industry, no planes, no boats. For this fight to work we must bring in the outside world."

"Very well, that still does not explain why you have brought us all together. It is dangerous, the revolution has only a handful of worthy leaders below us yet." Interjected Rekal, beginning to grow annoyed. "You run off and cry to the world for weapons. When you finish you can join the commoners in fighting these dogs."

Viten bit the inside of his cheek, "Without my 'crying' then we would not have the weapons or ammunition to fight this battle against those who oppress the worker! Now, I want your guerrilla fighters to begin disrupting government convoys near Sariy. When we finish securing our grasp on the north that shall be our next target. We will need its citizens for our ranks, without conscription or more success we will begin to hit a wall of recruits to fight the war against the bourgeoisie. Now, I believe it is time for us to resume our own assignments. Until next time comrades."

With that the meeting broke up, each leader of LATK going their own way, If only I could get rid of them. Viten thought, crossing the street towards his current field headquarters. Then, I could ensure that the people of this nation prosper. Yet they are too important to the revolution, for now.

Liberation Army for Takikan People

Fellow comrades of the world, the LATK has seen great success recently. We have been able to liberate great swaths of lands from the corrupt bourgeoisie. Yet now, we need your help comrades. We need your donations, we need your willingness to fight for the righteous cause, we need your guns, your ammunition. Only by helping us can we further free the world from the corruption of capitalism and all other vile oppressive ideologies.

Quickly the message was dispersed across the world to any who was willing to see it, the power of the internet allowing the LATK to send it's message to the worlds normal workers and governments alike.

President Johgs
Executive Building,Pillowgrad
Armed Republic of Pillowlandia

"Good morning Mr.President, a report on a new civil war is on your desk." Aaron's chief of staff absentmindedly said as he passed, cup of tea in hand. He nodded, "Thank you Reagan, I'll take a look" As he entered his office he saw that indeed a report was on his desk alongside his regular briefing, and it was thicker than most. Must have some actual substance to it already. As he thumbed threw it he saw that a decent majority of it was a history lesson, while his intelligence agencies might know of it quite well he himself certainly didn't. Communists, technocrats, disposed democracy, military junta. The whole, this country has gone to shit package. Quickly consulting his normal briefing on the current military deployments he quickly retrieved a pen, some scratch paper and yelled for Reagan.

"Reagan, be a dear and call up our friends in the senate. Have them get the ball rolling on an AUMF for this place. Also, get this message sent. I have a feeling that it will help release some stress from those unfortunate souls displaced in the main coup. Though to be fair they're terrible at their job... so have the Foreign office prepare a team to consult with them." Only nodding, his chief of staff walked out with paper in one hand a phone in the other.

TO:Takikan Republic, deposed democratic government
FROM: Pillowlandian Commonwealth Foreign Office

Greetings, the news of the unfortunate disaster and following military coup in your nation has not gone unnoticed. The overthrowing of a legitimate democratic government is an action which should never be sanctioned by any nation. We would like to dispach an envoy to conduct more detailed conversations on recent events, as well as arrange for potential future support from us.

Berlin

Berlin, the intellectual, art, and authoritarian capitol of Europe. A city noted by ruined buildings from a war long ago next to shiny facilities of new. The city was easily recognizable. From the Reichstag, to the Fernsehturm de Berlin. Hundreds of Trabants rolled on its busy streets as citizens of the Reich tried to get from home to work, or from work to home.

The President of the Reich, Wenndelin Emmerich, lived in the Schönhausen Palace in Berlin, was having a rather peculiar day. "Takika is rather strategic" The General said to Emmerich "And we have potential allies in the area. A communist militia."

"The Liberation Army for Takikan People" Emmerich read the name out loud from a piece of paper
"Correct, sir." Replied the General with a monotone voice.

"Alright. What can we do to help?"

"Military support, not too large, I think air forces accompanied by minimal ground troops with large weapon supplies will do." One advisor said.

"Seems reasonable enough" Emmerich agreed. "First we need to establish some kind of communication with this liberation army."
"Our agents are already on it, Herr President."

Stasi Radio Station, 'Abandoned' Oil Rig, Navec Sea.

The abandoned oil rig was a suitable target for Stasi international operations, aqquired by a German Oil Company some odd decade ago. It fell to decay when the company was taken over by the state during the Red Revolution. Only the echos of the sea at night, howl of the wind, and mysterious footsteps occupied it at this point. Aboard where two agents, both of unknown identity, wearing black sweatshirts and black combat pants. They had recieved a message from Berlin. Contact the allying rebels in Takika. Easy enough.
The first Stasi agent reached into a bag on his side, moving his hand past some empty wrappers from food rations he had to eat on the long cold nights aboard the rig, and pulled out a black clunky laptop. Opening it, he opened a German Govenrment issued internet browser, and spent the next hour researching the websites of this liberation army. Determining wether or not it was actually they were members of the LATP. After some IP tracing, and code digging..It was determined that the message was indeed official. And a means of communication was established.
Email.
Email was not entirely reliable however, so the real beef of the message would be delivered the old fashion way..Radio.
Of course, it had to be encoded..So the translation of the code was emailed to the leadership of the LATP with a simple message by an anonymous email.
"Hello.
Tune into 4658HKZ, USB, tonight at approxiamently at 0100 hours.
The codebook required to translate the message has been provided as a pdf in this email.
Destroy this computer after the message is decoded.
Thank you."

The Agent tuned the radio, and began a small tune. A few notes from the Internationale played by a music box. The frequencies on the same frequencies determined to be used by the Liberation Army.
Following the few tunes, the Stasi agent pressed a button on his microphone and spoke
"Achtung. Achtung. Achtung. Achtung. The sea lion crosses the lake, and shares a pint with those on the hill. Achtung Achtung. Listen carefully. Eins Zwei sieben fünf sechs, eins drei sieben neun, eins eins eins, fünf, sieben neun sieben Null."
The Agent cleared his throat and spoke again.

"Achtung. Achtung. Use all ears. Record. End broadcast."

The Agents then got up and placed several bags down next to the radios, before setting some sparks off a wire sticking out of them and immediatly walking away from the machinery and running to a ladder on one of the lower levels of the rig. After an extensive climb down, the agents found themselves on a military dingy. After a few quick checks, one agent armed himself with a silenced AK74U, and the other began to drive the boat away. Behind them, the rig exploded in a firery ball of light..Effectively destroying evidence that the Stasi was there to begin with.

The sword acts as our pen,
And our witnesses are brigades seven,
For death we will take every chance -
For cowards die all the time, brave only once!

Drain your sword in firm stance,
Remain stubborn in your defiance!
Drain your sword in firm stance,
Remain stubborn in your defiance!
No matter of the foe, stand firm in valor!
Kairun Rikusentai are the guardians of honor!

One could say many things of the Nihonese capital; but no one could say that the great city of Ishikawa wasn't imposing. Originally it became the Nihonese capital at times of Chosokame no Yorimoto, the first Christian shogun of the Empire of Greater Nihon; and remained so until this day. When eyes of foreigners looked at it, the glory of past Shoguns, Emperors, statesmen and samurai who ruled from this place instantly came to mind - and somehow, it hadn't passed even among the star - like array of neon lights, towering skyscrapers indicating the modernization and architectural marvels that filled the former capital of Chosokame Bakufu, contracting with the mountains visible in the distance that surrounded it like a high wall protecting it from the foes. Nihon was modernizing - and ironically, the values of the past found perfect application for the modern days. Working culture, contributed to by ethics of Tanzhist philosophy and protestant Christianity brought here in XVI century by missionaries, now so widely accepted by the sons of Amiral Yi, contributed to development to nation that could manufacture a lot, and with high quality. The commercial fleet, and trade with it, was growing, and with Kaigun protecting it, few dared to touch the swarms of commercial ships that flooded the waters. When Murakami Akira and man responsible for the economic miracle, current PM, would leave the office he would eagerly admit that the success surpassed his expectations. Properly designed education system produced people who worked for enormous zaibatsu conglomerates, fueling the one of freest markets in Southern Furukuran sea. And such powerful county had powerful demands.

Nihon lacked natural resources, thus it was basing it's economy on manufacturing and services sector, producing plenty of goods of high quality and cheaper than the competition; yet such industry required enormous resources to be imported to Nihon, then only be put of use. As such, the land of Blazing sun was reliant on the sea for it's economy to function. While Kaigun has been perfectly suited for defeating any enemy - with it's massive submarine fleet always ready to wreck havoc on any foe that dared to mess with the Imperial Nihonese Navy - there were some foes that needed attention. In the past days, competition with European powers was fierce, developing in the Nihonese strong sense of cultural pride and national unity... and now when another European power was on the move, the Nihonese government would likely not receive that well.

At the middle of Ishikawa laid an old palace, surrounded with thick walls built years ago, with it's several roofs towering upon the city's parks and casting shadows upon the mountains, laid the Tosa castle, the old seat of Shoguns. While the cherries started to show first bosoms in the castle's gardens, an older man was sitting, chatting with his several advisors. One could easily say that he was someone important, judging from the uniform he wore - the classic, dark olive uniform of the officer of Imperial Nihonese Army, that contrasted with his gray hair, long cheekbones, and oval face. This man - was Shogun Maki Kojiro himself, current Shogun of Nihon. Some called him semi - authoritarian, some - even worse names, but Kojiro was not a Tyrant, although everyone could say that he restricted the powers of the Imperial Diet a lot. "McCarthy of Asia", hero of the right wing and nightmare to the left, Kojiro always caused extreme emotions; some adored him for Nihonese free market economic miracle, and some - hated him with fire for restricting LGBT rights or communist witch hunts. But now, there were other things on head of Nihonese Shogun - especially when he looked at a video:

Looking at effects of earthquake of such magnitude wasn't pleasant, even for a man who spent most of his life in Gunpeitai, the Imperial Nihonese Army Intelligence. The islandous county inhabited by descendants of Admiral Yi witnessed terrifying earthquakes more than once; they were in fact pretty common on the islands. Nihonese however were investing billions in securing themselves from results of such natural disaster; while that county, apparently, done not enough to ensure of it. Countless communities destroyed, countless people left without roof over their heads... and worse - destabilization. Violent non state actors crept out of the holes they have been hiding until now, and red banners of Marx and Engels, alongside even more disgusting banners of Technate flew over hordes of radicals emerging to fight the government. This had to end - and Nihon could gain a lot on ending this.

"Hatoyama-san, how are we standing." Shogun was experienced commander and seasoned leader, rarely letting anything escape his control.

"It appears that central government lost control over the situation" spoke 2nd of the Hatoyama brothers, General Hatoyama Mitsuhide of Kaigun Rikusentai. A short man, like most of his kin, Hatoyama lacked even degree of fat on his body - shaped like an iron statue during countless hours of training in dojo. Small, oval face with sharply extended cheekbones given him look of mongolian warlord always hungry for loot "At this moment their control is limited to Otiver and two smaller cities in the south. The earthquate has sent the forces scattered, and those who overthrew the government are in disarray also. It looks like a total chaos, after which no one has control."

Hatoyama unfolded the map, gathered previously by careful work of Tokkeitai - the Imperial Nihonese Navy intelligence.

"As I mentioned, non-state actors have emerged to claim the power for themselves. Both disgusting in their ideology, equally. Reds already managed to secure many cities on the northern part of the coast, lesser presence inland. They have been active before, yet military dealt with them swiftly. Estimated numbers are at this moment 14 000 full time fighters, divided into five "operational groups" - a brigade or regiment level formations."

"And the second one?" voice of Shogun was already silent, as the "Old Maki" was falling into thinking of how to solve the situation.

"The technate. Another group based on Terten's "technopagan" numbo - jumbo. Estimated strength six regiments, total around 21 000 men. Based in South-Eastern part of the county." Hatoyama clearly hadn't been thinking much of his enemies.

In his mind, Maki was already planing his move. Nihon was a county that rejected all ideological universalisms - weather it was democracy or socialism - and focused on Nihon itself believing that international relations are product of culture. Being offensive realist in belief, Kojiro was constantly seeking to maximize Nihonese influence - although in doing so he contained himself with Christian morals and the code of honor.

"Kobayashi - san," The shogun addressed an admiral sitting next to him, silent until now. Kobayashi Shinji was one of the "Triad" of Kaigun, a person that Kojiro would trust virtually with everything "Is it worth it?"

"The resources Taika possesses appear to be sufficient, plus honor demands we help those people, Kojiro - tono ue." Kojiro always knew Kobayashi as sort of idealstic romantic, something strange in very pragmatically oriented Imperial Nihonese Navy HQ. Yet even his romanticism, fascination with Christian spirituality, heroes of old Nihon, poetry and painting Nihonese landscape hadn't changed the fact that Kobayashi in combat was one of most cunning commanders Kaigun ever had "And I do believe I know how we could achieve it without too big involvement. My plan involves..."

The discussion took several hours, during which the three carefully calculated all possibilities. Soon, conclusion was reached; a single Field Force (Yatai) will be formed under command of General Kurosawa Shinzo and deployed to the AO. Concept of operations and general plans remained secret for now; but at least a single message would be handed over to Nihonese ambassador to the government in Otiver:

As such, government of the Empire of Greater Nihon wishes to sign a status of force agreement (SOFA) with the Takian Republic for combat elements of the Imperial Nihonese Army to enter Taikan territory and engage the socialist enemy. Our government awaits the answer.

Vulkatan Multi-convention center
Many children and teens were inside the Multi-convention hall along with John himself wearing a black king chess piece hat and the people who participated also got a random chess piece hat due to it being the Vulkatan Chess Day for some reason.

John just watched and played by himself all in all but he enjoyed it until someone wearing a white pawn chess piece sat in front of him.

"Sir i think you need to read this" said the person who was Adam Appleschwitz, his best friend and Junior messenger and he put down a folder in the chess table and John read it.

"A 9.2 earthquake? Possible communists supporters? Flooding of a dam? Where is this from Adam?" John said closing the folder and giving it back to Adam while putting a rook to eat a Pawn.

"If our agency is right it's someplace called Takika, we don't have any agents here yet but there are already confirmed party members"

"Oh? Who then" and John made a white pawn eat a black one

"Err i don't remember just watch international news it's probably there,we don't have a full known intelligence"

"Yeah well i want to provide support here for the people and for our allies but we can't go on a full assault there, i have an idea but I'll discuss it with the generals alright Adam? Not excuse me i have a chess tournament with myself" and Adam left

Jiang Tower
Tianying
June 14 2016

The city of Tianying, capital of Tianxia, was a city of spires. The inner city, home of both the government and numerous corporations, towered over the surrounding area, and Jiahao was greatest of them all, a six hundred meter tall behemoth where the work of government was carried out on a daily basis. Right now, Chairman Xiang Zhao, leader of the People's Republic, was meeting with high ranking officials to discuss the nation of Takika, a place that had been of little interest to Tianxia until the earthquake that had plunged it into chaos. These events presented an unprecedented opportunity, a chance to direct Takika to prosperity and progress.

"As I was saying, following the colossal earthquake, an impressive 8.8 on the Richter scale, Takika is now embroiled in a full-blown civil war. Now, the nation is split between four major groups, the military Junta that seized power from the inefficient democratic government following the disaster, the remains of said democratic government, and perhaps more interestingly, a marxist group that known as the Liberation Army of the Takikan People, or LATP for short, and the Takikan Movement for Technocracy, a rare example of a fully fledged technocratic group." General Yazhu Kwan informed the assembled officials, indicating the digital map of Takika on the wall. "Now, I believe that it is within our interests to support both the LATP and the Technate, as if we can convince them to work together, not only would they become a unified front easily capable of directly opposing the military government, they may be able to establish a unified government that could adhere to an ideology similar to our own, and establish a significant foothold in the area."

"This is an interesting proposition general." Interrupted the Chairman. "But is it really worth our time? Takika is effectively a backwater, no one paid them any real attention until this conflict. What will establishing a foothold really achieve?"

"I'm glad you asked, Chairman." He replied. "We have avoided international politics for some time, besides that incident with Vulkata, and I believe it is finally time to step back onto the world stage. With our help, a LATP-Technate government could potentially turn this backwater into a regional power, not to mention a potential adherent of Xi Jiang Thought."

"Perhaps, but how much support shall we give it? A full-scale military incursion would be unwise, to say the least, as it would undoubtedly draw the attention of certain groups that... disagree with our ideology. I think it would be a better idea to simply provide them with equipment and training in a covert manner. Of course, if another state was to invade Takika, we would revisit this matter."

"Agreed, Chairman. Now, I recommend we make contact with the LATP and Technate, and tell them of our support."

Official Message of the People's Republic of TIanxia

ATTN: LATP & TTM leadership
SUBJECT: Military Assistance
ENCRYPTION: RED OCTOBER

Greetings and Salutations to you all!

The People's Republic of Tianxia has noticed your struggle against the oppressive military government, and we are concerned that they will seize total control over your nation if you do not form a united front to oppose them. Ideologically, you have your differences. However, we have seen the rise of military governments before, and more often than not they will create an authoritarian state and exterminate those who oppose them.

As such, we believe it is your best interests to put aside your differences, and work together for the common good. An ideological compromise can be reached, technocracy and communism are by no means incompatible. To assist you in defeating your common foe, we are willing to supply your forces with equipment and military training, which will begin as soon as you accept our help. We are counting on it.

LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION!

Otiver
Democratic government

By no means was the foreign ministry of the deposed government fit for such a name, in its current state its office and building was no more than a refurbished apartment in downtown Otiver, the only thing that indicated its status was the freshly decorated porcelain-laid first floor which visitors would easily identify with the carving of the government seal placed up above a rudimentary desk. 4 members of the armed police stood before the entrance, their crude submachine guns conflicting with their stone-like statures. Indeed, all of this seemed so ironic that a deposed government was still trying to maintain its legitimacy.

It was however a relief to the employees of the office, the ministers of the old government and the leadership of it when communiques have arrived from the outside world. Truly why would anyone even think that it would be good to support a deposed government with a history of corruption - well at least the generations before it, Berun was just elected for less than a year - while the junta's strength would meet much of their requirements for suppressing the communists, but at least there's a chance that they will no longer have to endure the humiliating state of being a deposed one and the whole affair would be reduced to no more than an unpleasant memory after some international effort. Truly the television broadcasts were timely.

"We've already received communications from Pillowlandia and...Nihon." the functionary anxiously slided two pieces of paper across the desk over to the Foreign Minister's hands. He was visibly and audibly increasing in uncertainty and nervousness when he pronounced the second nation name.

Both had the same thoughts as to the meaning of Nihonese intervention. They had heard of the great tiger's many battles, indeed the name struck fear into all regardless of background. What was relieving, but only slightly so, was that the Nihonese were of course on their side. They were still worried about the implications of Nihonese venturings into their country, especially with a military intervention what seemed to be more or less a guaranteed victory in fact hid the possibilities of great upheaval and a storm which could prove to be just as powerful as the Lepod river's floods.

Nevertheless, they were not going to let this chance escape loose.

Premier Berun was immediately called, and in twenty minutes he had rushed from his hotel just on the other side of the street. The bespectacled, suited man showed signs of hasty dress, but nevertheless he was ready to confront the exciting news of a helping hand reaching out to the Otiver government.

"Status of forces agreement..."

"I think at this point we can...completely give up our dignity for regaining control of the country."

Buskeja
Technate movement

The humanities wing of the Buskeja university, where the TTM first developed, housed its current commanding nexus comprising a number of intellectuals who have taken it upon themselves to bring an end to the corrupt system of the old and institute an intellect-rewarding form of government in Takika, one which they believed could lead it out from poverty, corruption and inefficiency. Karet had done many things, but the genius of one single man could not be guaranteed that it can be repeated, hence the downfall of many dictatorships after a brilliant 1st generation. The men assembled in the building sought to overthrow the vicious cycle of corruption and poverty, forging a new system based on the simple idea of assigning people with actual technical knowledge to the fields they have expertise in. They had little regard for systems beyond that point, as a result they found little value - in fact some elements, visibly pro-Odryskan, abhorred such - in associating with the wider 'progressivist' movement. They believed that just with the establishment of such a meritocratic system, society will sort it out and move on.

But before revolutionary construction comes the stage of fighting, of overthrowing the old, decaying system. As for now, the men were discussing the matters of the current strategic situation. The military leaders, indistinguishable from the others due to a lack of uniform differences, proceeded on with their reports.

"Fighting west of Opovet have continued on with a lack of any real changes in the situation; all that our men has been doing for the past week was wasting bullets. Expeditions to the east are receiving mixed reception from locals but the situation is relatively better. As for casualties, 31 deaths in the Opovet front and 20 injured.

The 2nd Column is advancing northwest and recruiting from locals to gather enough strength to take Styag. Guns are already being transported to bombard city defences to weaken government troops in the area. No action from the Kalover corps as of yet."

"And now for international attention...we've been getting some lately." one of the men then proceeded to display the Tianxia'ese communication.

To some, the idea seemed unfeasible, to others it was abhorrent for them to do such things (again, the pro-Odryskan elements), and to some they saw opportunity within this suggestion. Despite both fighting against the current system, the Technate group placed themselves above the communists who they viewed as simply edgy troublemakers with a fetish for Lenin statues, after all the LATP was an old-generation revolutionary group, many believed that its old guard lacked the new outlook it required to survive and thrive in the 21st century. A number of TTM elements were also of the free-market variety, they found more sympathies in the Dosta je bilo party than they did with Odryskan technate philosophy, hence they found collaboration with the communists as dangerous to a merit-valuing society due to its egalitarian principles as well as the big-government implications of a socialist state endangering the minarchist-technocrats' ideas of a government's maximum responsibility being ensuring that technical knowledge become the currency of position appointment.

Nevertheless, a mere tactical alliance could still prove...somewhat beneficial. In the Stazhos area LATP and Technate forces were adjacent and could combine to create a powerful force to destroy the Yadena corps. They could even push south, cutting junta troops in half by capturing Lepkal. With foreign support these became more and more likely, a combined opposition more able to push the junta - which indeed has placed itself in a dire situation by concentrating its forces along the rivers - straight into the cold unforgiving waves that swept the banks.

Despite these opportunities, many still objected to such a notion. Trust between the two groups was not enough to warrant them fighting side by side would have no chances of sudden mutiny or betrayal, besides some wanted to be free of foreign influence and this proposal seemed very much just a way for Tianxia to exert their influence in the area. After fierce debate however it was agreed upon that the Technate would, well, try negotiating with the LATP on non-aggression for the minimum and tactical coordination at the maximum, so to satisfy the Tianxia'ese and gain some long-awaited support from someone other than Odryska.

TO: PR Tianxia
FROM: TTM leadership
ENCRYPTION: Very High

We thank you for your attention and support of us as well as your assistance. However, the Technate movement, after debate,
has concluded that a non-conditional collaboration between us and the LATP is not worthy of our trust. Thus, the Technate will
only agree to collaboration with the LATP after arranged meetings and negotiations between our two groups. We still applaud
your support however.

EP-8A Poseidon
+8 Hours from the Earthquake
75 Miles off the Coast of Predibos

A light grey, twin-engine aircraft bearing OS Navy markings cruised high over the rough waters of the Navec Sea below alongside two sleek F-24A Bobcats of VF-74 from the OSS Enterprise. The EP-8A Poseidon was the OS Navy's premier electronic intelligence gathering aircraft, and the best part was, you couldn't even tell it was. Being based on the P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol, which seeing in the area was not an uncommon experience, allowed for the EP-8s to carry out their electronic snooping more discretely. This EP-8A, belonging to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron TWO (VQ-2) and based at Naval Station Rota in Spain, was equipped with a number of sensors that was able to pick out and listen in on radio and radar signals along with satellite and cell-phone communications. This extremely complex and highly secretive process allowed for the OS Intelligence Community to discern communications of the brand-new Junta, and the various insurgents groups in the area.

Major Ethan "Guamadan" Hunt hated life aboard the "boat" as his Navy counterparts affectionately called it. There were not too many things worse than being stuck on a boat with 5,000 swabbies. Though, it did have its perks. Being in a bunk on in an air-conditioned "berthing" sure beat a tent in the middle of the goddamn desert, that and the whole traveling the world seemed to be having its perks. But Marine Aviators belonged on the ground, kicking ass and moving mud. Stepping out onto the deck was another thing that was something to get used to, going from the harsh white light of bulbs to the even harsher white light of the sun in one step, particularly when sunglasses were banned aboard deck as possible FOD.

"Guamadan! CAG wants two birds up in the air right now! Won't say what for, E-2s will brief us in the air." yelled Guamadan's wingman, Captain Edward "Zapper" Gonzales called as he ran to his own fighter, one of the many F/A-28A Tigersharks aboard the Mighty E's deck and operated by the Navy and the "Cowboy" Marines of VMFA-112 alike. VMFA-112, though nominally a Reserve unit, had been briefly called to active-duty to fulfill a shortage in Strike Fighter capability in the Atlantic. The vast majority of F/A-28s, the Navy's hottest multirole fighter, were mostly pooled in the Pacific Fleet, however recent tensions in the 6th Fleet Area of Operations had brought out the forces of the Reserve Carrier Air Wing in the OS Navy's attempt to fill the gap. The odd assortment of professionals, most of whom had been Marine Aviators before returning to civilian life, but couldn't shake the itch.

"So CAG wants the best, eh?" replied Guamadan as he kicked the piece of gum around his mouth with a cocky smile starting to cross his face. Guamadan ran towards his own Tigershark, completed the last of his preflight checks, before climbing into the head of the beast.

Pillowlandian Diplomatic Mission
Otiver
Takikan Republic

The plane was relatively small, only slightly larger than most private jets. On board was a detail of a single actual diplomat alongside five officers from the ONI, though they would say they were with the Diplomatic Service if anyone asked. Protecting them was a group of ten 'Presidential Guards'. The guard service, contrary,to it's name was the protective security agency in charge of all executive branch security missions. It touched down quietly and without fanfare. As the group disembarked they quickly moved into a small three vehicle convoy which had been arranged several hours earlier.

As the three vehicles moved through the city it quickly became apparent just how poorly the nation had been managed in recent years, from the evident unemployment and homelessness to the all to apparent signs of corruption. It was clear that if anything was to improve members of the current remnant government would have to be replaced or 'encouraged' to cease lining their pockets. That, and the nations municipal governments and agencies would need purging as well. It was good that over the past several years ONI had become adept at removing people of power whom were less than beneficial to the greater good.

The sad state of the city extended to the current government building, the only thing denoting it's use for official government building was the shoddy signage indicating so. "So the government is in an even sorrier state than I had thought." began Herbert Barrett, the diplomat, "When we get in there I want you all to do your normal spook thing and figure out what needs replacing. If we're going to renovate ourselves a government then we're going to make as little mess as we can. Pillow knows it's already a disaster."

With that they delegation exited the vehicles, followed by their security detail. As they walked into the building they glanced around, "Greetings. I am Sir Herbert Barrett of the Royal Pillowlandian Commonwealth Diplomatic Service. Is your President available?"

While the revolution will gladly accept any equipment and training to further the gracious cause, I have serious doubts about being capable of forming a coalition government with the Technocratic Movement. They see the knowledge of a person as more important than equality, in their perfect society one with more money will succeed because of that. That is counter to the revolutions meaning. However, to defeat the Junta I can see the more unrelenting members of the revolution as being tolerable. We would be willing to form a non-aggression pact we will not form a unified government. Additionally, if all future communications could be continued to be directed towards myself we can ensure the success of the revolution.

He had been sitting here, for actually hours now in the cold of the night. The least they could have done was give a more specific time window. However, even as he was uncomfortable he knew he would be earning the good will of Viten even further. Which was good. After all, Viten was going to get rid of the other leaders once he could and James would be there to fill the position of what would be a newly needed lieutenant. Now if only those germans would show up.

CDP Task Force 003
"Task Force Jackass"
35 kilometers behind OSS Enterprise

The Contracted Personnel Division had become the de facto foreign power projection force in recent times for United Remnants of America. More and more, the URA's government and military was relying on the growing power of the CDP for any kind of small-scale foreign conflict, and this was becoming even more evident when the Remnant Military was downsizing in an effort to slimline with the hopes of modernizing later on. This meant that whatever gear was decommissioned that couldn't be sold off or taken apart was given to the CDP as a hand-me-down.

TF-003, or nicknamed "Jackass" by the occupants of the task force, was one such unit composed of hand-me-down Remnant equipment that was actively being sent to extend the Remnant foreign policy to some middle-of-nowhere third-world nation that had gone to shit. As usual, the URA had given the CDP commanders in charge of TF-003 little to no information, and had given the even less assets to follow through with what they were supposed to do.

Their objective was complicated but put into simple language: "Find OS fleet en route to Takika, enter OS fleet's defensive shield en route to Takika, disembark in Takika and make contact with either democratic or military government and support one or the other; both is possible." Rumor had it the URA didn't care which government really survived the brewing tensions so far as they did survive, and they thanked the URA for their support afterwards. Just so long as the tech-worshippers or the communists didn't take control of the country.

Four ships sailed at max speed in a loose diamond formation with roughly a kilometer between them. Each used to be white, but the paint had mostly faded, leaving them grey and dull. All of them were decommissioned Hera-class hospital ships of the Remnant Navy. All of them had been stripped down upon their decommissioning, losing all medical equipment. There were eight ships in the Hera class altogether. Seven ended up in the CDP while the eighth acted as a supply transport for international military bases. All had their crews replaced with a skeleton crew of private contractors. The original crews of 1,400 or so crewmen and 1,000 medical beds had been reduced to a bare minimum of forty crewmen and no hospital beds. That left extra room for personnel and equipment.

While the hospital ships were unarmed, something had to be done to at least make these ships somewhat able to defend themselves. Enter the SMAT, or stationary manual armored turret. A project that had been discontinued by the Remnant Army, but had still produced a fair amount before their retirement. They were vehicle-sized, airmobile turrets armed with a single chain gun and a guided rocket system. Ultimately decided as poorly-equipped on a battlefield for their lack of movement on a mobile battlefield, the CDP found their use by planting them on under-armed ships. Two were placed on the deck of each Hera, with two put in the holds of the lead ship as replacements, making the total ten SMATs. They were crewed by one man each, which made operating them a bitch due to the high amount of expertise and awareness needed to operate the system, but they were better then leaving the Heras as sitting ducks.

Moored the the back of each Hera was a single old decommissioned Tethys-class mechanized landing craft. The LCMs were being towed by the much larger hospital ships, since they obviously lacked the range to make this trip themselves. They were only crewed by four personnel each and only came armed with a pair of 12.7mm machine guns. Obviously leading-edge technology. Each of the things had a quartet of old Light all-terrain vehicles on them, 4-wheelers that were hand-me-downs from the Remnant Army. It was pretty much the biggest vehicle Task Force Jackass could carry, due to their amphibious limitations, but ATVs were better than nothing, and they worked well for light reconnaissance.

The LCMs weren't the only boats being towed by the hospital ships, however. Two old LCACs were moored right along with them, making the total 8 LCACs. Their five-man crews were definitely better off than the LCM crews. The Nymph-class LCAC went both faster and farther than the LCMs even if they were armed the exact same, with two 12.7mm LMGs. For now, the LCACs were active, their downward-thrust engines and fans running to keep the LCACs afloat while the hospital ships dragged them along. Each LCAC was loaded up with a half-dozen ATVs as well, so they weren't completely useless.

The task force really wished they could have taken some of those recently-decommissioned Patriot missile systems that the Remnant Army had just gave to the CPD, but they had set sail before they arrived, and there was no way they'd have been able to take them anyways.

Two of the hospital ships carried a battalion of light infantry each. A thousand men each. On the other ships were various amalgamations of CDP units, 20 heavy infantry troops from Toro. The Black Widows sniper/spotter unit. The Dragoons HTV defense team. The Killer Elite merc squad. The Free Men guerilla force. The Strumtruppen merc force. Even some units from the veteran OWA vanguard that had held an island by themselves. That made just over four-thousand combat troops, all infantry. All paid well by the URA. Most veteran contractors of the URA.

"Um. Captain. I think we may have the OS Navy task fleet on our radar. What should we do?"

Victor Mckinley was standing on the bow of the lead ship, the Humility. An odd name for a ship of war, McKinley decided, by fitting for a medical vessel. He looked back at the crewman appraising him. McKinley was one of six unit commanders from the CDP sent on this trek along with Eugene Harlan, Bruce Reeves, Elena Dietrich, Wayne Jameson, and Avi Reise. The six of them had been drafted into the CDP together as an IFV crew and it's infantry troop, and somehow they'd been placed in charge of infantry. How this fucking CDP survived so many missions with inadequate gear and personnel was beyond McKinely.

"Are you sure it's them?" McKinely turned to face the younger man in a tee-shirt and jeans. There was no uniform model in the CDP, and it was even less-so aboard the hospital ships. McKinley decided if it really was the OS Navy they'd finally caught up to, that it meant two things: The OS Navy had slowed enough for TF-003 to catch them and that the OS Navy had probably already seen them with much better radar.

"We're as sure as can be, Captain McKinley."

McKinley nodded. He wasn't a ship captain, but since he was the senior unit commander, he was the 'captain.' "Alright, let's go make contact, then." McKinley followed the young contractor into the Humility's command deck and went to the radio operator. Being a decommissioned and aged ship, there was nothing beyond unencrypted comms. McKinely picked up the radio and keyed it twice. Everyone in range would hear this broadcast, so it was both a hailing of the OS Navy and of the other Jackass ships.

"This is Captain Victor McKinley of the United Remnants of America Contracted Personnel Division Task Force Zero-Zero-Three aboard the CDP hospital ship URS Humility. We are currently approaching an unidentified group of vessels assumed to be that of the Organized States Navy. We are broadcasting on all unencrypted frequencies requesting assistance by the OS Navy for our safe transport to a friendly port of Takika. We have little in the way of defensive measures against hostile intentions and due to the rely on your good protection. We wait with reply, and if we are wrong in our identification assumption, could the unidentified group of vessels please correctly identify themselves. Over."

McKinely keyed off the radio microphone and looked at the young radio operator, "Well, let's see what this brings us."

In reality, the URA knew more about the situation than they had briefed Mr. McKinley, or the CDP, on. They'd kept up-to-date on the unraveling situation in Takika, ever since the earthquake, the expulsion of the democratic government, and the rise of the junta, the technate, and the communists. They'd made the decision: The technate and communists had to fail, because only the junta or the democratic government would be partial to Remnant interests and business ventures. However, the Remnants couldn't risk or afford to task uniformed military to help put pressure on this situation, so the CDP was needed.

Since the CDP had no defenses navally, they had to be put in with someone else. As Remnant satellites watched, one lucky satellite had seen an OS Navy carrier group heading in the direction of Takika. The communication between the neighboring American and Remnant government was not always on the best of terms. The OS and URA had long ago come to the decision that a conflict between the two of them would be devastating and would most likely crumble both countries, so despite their differences, they'd decided to attempt to work together for the best interests of both parties. It didn't matter that the OS was a utopia to the average Remnant or that the URA had a production output capability and workforce that could dwarf the OS if it needed to. The two realized competition would only damage both of them, and mutual cooperation helped.

So of course it seemed a good idea to quickly gather Task Fleet 003 when they saw the OS Navy and to send them on their way at full speed in hopes to catch the American carrier group with the hopes that Task Fleet 003 could get some naval protection and then the CDP could give the ground support once they reached Takika.

As per usual, the URA made no public statements of their intentions for this international undertaking, and no communiques were sent to anyone in particular. They'd let it be a surprise to the Americans, the Bahtari and to whoever else decided to appear in Takika that the URA was there and the URA was willing to play for this country's good fortune and favor.

Let the games begin.

Greetings! The civil government of Takika would like to deliver the gratitude to the Organized States for their recognition and support of our government whose position has been established and ratified by law and popular will. We gratefully accept your offers of military and humanitarian assistance, and also permit your military operations within our borders due to our lack of capability to muster strength in many areas. In areas where we still have control, we will coordinate in the organization of the evacuation of American citizens in Takika.

Otiver
Upon hearing of the Pillowlandian entry, the Foreign Secretary had already prepared himself for greeting, and confidently he stepped out offering a shake of hands with the Pillowlandian delegation. "Greetings, I am Tozin Kurun, Foreign Secretary to the Takikan Republic. I may need to correct you on that, the current person in charge - well, if he has anything left to be in charge of," he chuckled, "is the Premier. A bit of a confusion on translations here and there from Takikan to Standard Tongue, it's hard to believe such things can still happen in a world of advanced technology, but then again no map has been yet drawn that includes every single landmass there is. Premier Berun is awaiting your presence." he led the Pillowlandian delegation into the building.

Rechtzuhör Building
Vovaya Kronor, Tyrnica
June 16th, 2016

It was often said that summer could not hold back a northern storm, and perhaps there was truth to it. The rain thundered down onto the dome of the Rechtzuhör with unrelenting ardour and ran down in rivulets, puddling in the clefts and cavities of the Gothic architecture.

Inside, the Chamber of the King's Council was filled with a silence, but it was tense, as though unspoken words were permeating the atmosphere and inflicting the air of nervousness that had so obviously struck the cabinet.

"The news is already picking it apart," said the Foreign Minister, Dmitri Volschrev, breaking the silence, "the NNN has already berated us for our reservedness, and the Crown is getting some flack as well."

The Prime Minister ran a hand through her hair exasperatedly, almost beseeching the man to provide the chamber with something that wasn't staring them in the face. "What do they expect us to do?" she exclaimed, almost to herself, "no one in this nation is stupid enough to think that we should just mobilise the navy and go in guns blazing. Although, I don't suppose we could, even if we wanted to. Who are we for?"

"Well, I'd hope that we're ruling out the 'technate movement' right off the bat, Kristen," supplied the Deputy PM, "They're radicals in all but name, and they have been for years."

"By that logic, Alex, the Liberation Army would be out of the question as well," said Ms. Kathryn Alvansdöttir, throwing a glance to the man beside her, "They're Marxist, Leninist, Stalinist, Maoist – they've got about seven splits right down their belly, and they're going to tear asunder before this conflict in done," she continued, "but by the same token, the old government was so corrupt that it's managed to cause this in the wake of a damn earthquake."

"I do hope you don't mean to declare us for the junta." Alexander threw a look to the empty head of the table, where he was perhaps looking for help from the king, absent.

"I don't mean to declare us for anyone, Alex. Just because we're neutral doesn't mean we can't send humanitarian aid to the poor bastards who are caught up in all of this."

Kristen, thus far silent beyond her initial charade, nodded her assent. "Perhaps it would be best. This is sure to attract some attention, and I'd rather not have us in a full-blown war when SACTO comes snooping."

In response, Kathryn grinned and leaned forward over the table, long and dark – it was put together in the day of Nicholas the Great, more than two hundred and thirty years prior, and yet she leaned across it as though it were a strategic theatre map. "I'll ask the Admiralty to devote a few ships to the cause. A couple of refitted corvettes would do the trick."

"That won't be enough," Dmitri responded with a grimace, "We don't know how volatile the Takikans are. Get a destroyer in there, if nothing else."

The Minister for Defence turned slightly and glared daggers at the Soviet native. "I will ask them to send a frigate," she said, stressing the last word, "A medical frigate."

Dmitri rolled his eyes and turned to the Prime Minister, deigning to ignore Kathryn's barbs. "Am I right in assuming that you'll want the Ministry to write up something to request the non-interference of the Takikans?"

"Yes. The democrats seem to be gaining support from the international community already, so get the message to Otiver first. I suppose we'll want to assist everyone along the northern section of the coast, so we'd best inform the communists and the technocrats as well," Kristen mused, pausing a moment before continuing, "I'm not quite sure about the military government. Perhaps it would be prudent to send a message to Opokazh, just in case."

Dmitri nodded his assent, before looking to the other members of the cabinet, "If that's all, I'll be off. We'd best get on with this before it escalates into something the globe can't control."

The Deputy Prime Minister sighed in resigned agreement, and then stood up. "You're right. This should be our first priority. Are we going to tell the press?"

The Minister for Communications, having not spoken throughout the entire duration of the meeting, spoke up. "No. We'll keep 'em guessing until the ships are ready to leave."

"Then, that is indeed everything," said Kristen, standing up herself. "I'll go to the palace, just in case His Majesty has any reservations. Goodnight."

The rest of the cabinet nodded their assent, and began to file out of the chamber. The rain pelted against the tinted windows of the building, perhaps signalling itself as an omen for what was to come.

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION

RECIPIENT: Democratic Takikan Government, Otiver
SUBJECT: Takikan Reformation
ENCRYPTION: Low

Greetings, Honourable Democrats of Takika,

It is with obvious reason that we speak to you today. The dire situation in what remains of the Takikan Republic is a subject of much discussion throughout the international community, and in the Grand Kingdom of Tyrnica, we wish to express our support for the Takikan people to reaffirm their sovereignty and righteousness.

However, we believe that, to achieve total reunification of the Takikan nation, the tattered remains of the republic cannot stand alone. In an attempt to assist the noble Takikan people in this most unstable time, the Tyrnican nation is pledging medical aid and supplies to the entire nation of Takika, taking no note of ethnicity, creed or ideology.

The Royal Navy of Tyrnica has put together a small fleet of naval ships to assist the ongoing conflict in the most peaceful way possible. Two refitted Alsingborg-class corvettes will escort a medically outfitted frigate of the Kürskäringar variety, the HMS Evverkäben, to the coastline of the Takikan northwest. From there, the ships will make routine stops along the Takikan coast, assisting those caught in unnecessary times of conflict using medical means. The ships will, if given permission, stop at Otiver for any supplies that are needed, or, alternatively, provide support to the populace.

We ask that you recognise these Tyrnican ships as a neutral, benign force in the region, and allow them to assist in caring for the people of Takika in this troubled time.

With Regards,
The Government of Tyrnica

"My deepest apologies for the error" Herbert began, "now I hear that the government has been plagued by corruption in recent years. Was that a driving factor in the success of the rebellions thus far? Additionally, what is the current standing of government finances? If everything can be kept in line then it will make things much easier after we deal with these unfortunate groups." At this he paused, awaiting the minsters response as they walked passed work stations which got more and more depressing as each passed. It was clear that the entire building was disheartened... the only thing which really couldn't be gleamed from a glance was just how far corruption had managed to spread in the relatively new administration. Hopefully not far, less bodies that way.

We shall wholeheartedly accept this gracious aid to the revolution. You shall receive all that you need to offer your services to the freed workers of the revolution. We ask that you make stops at Stahova as a priority, as there are many wounded civilians and fighters there alongside many people who have not had access to medical care for extended periods of time.

This aid is truly a great aid to our efforts. Thank you comrades.

Takikan Republic

Two men seemingly came from nowhere out of the bushes towards James's side. One had his Ak74u raised at the male while the other seemed unarmed. "I assume you are the LATP contact?" The German smiled and shook James's hand "I am a member of the stasi, sent here on behalf of the German Democratic Reich to discuss our plans for future cooperation." The Agent smiled and told his comrade to lower his weapon, then reaching into his sachel and bringing a vanilla folder and opening it. He inhaled before speaking to James again "First, the government wishes the best of luck to a revolution of the peasents and workers of The Takikan Republic. Second, Germany is willing to aid the revolution with air support, and ground support. Willing to add an additional thirty thousand men to your armies. More, if nessecary.." With that, the Stasi agent closed the vanilla folder and smiled "So? Is your leadership willing to accept our potential offers?"

Reichstag, Berlin
Hundreds of members of the Socialist Unity Party of the German Democratic Reich were discussing the recent motion to support the LATP, a potential socialist ally. "We need to remain optimistic in this. For the establishment of a new socialist state, will most certainly help us in the fight against Fascism, and Capitalism, world wide." exclaimed one MP. The parliament, wether it had a choice or not, had a massive consensus on the idea of aiding the LATP. However, how was a subject of much debate. Many argued in only humanitarian aid, while others called to rev up the Reichswehr for combat. Some argued both would be a nessecity, and some argued the region of the world was not for the Reich to meddle on.

After a few days of debates, a vote was held, and the President's original proposition won with a large majority.

German Naval port

The Sailors of the national Deutschmarine where quickly preparing their ships for movement. The port had been active all day since the announcement. Hundreds of thousands of weapons where being loaded onto their aircraft carrier The Stalin, and their two troop carriers The Engels and the Hello, Lenin!. Varying helicopters and jets where being inspected, every flaw being fixed and every combat ready device being tested. Drones where loaded onto aircraft carriers and programmed, and troops marched onto the troop carriers and the aircraft carrier in long marching lines.

The Admiral of the German fleet sat in his office, a hot damp enviroment cooled only by a semi operational ceiling fan. On his desk stood a miniature GDR flag, a plant pot hosting a cactus, and varying pictures of family and relatives.

There was a knock at his door. "Come in" He said, closing his laptop and leaning back in his chair. In walked a young sailor, no older than 25 carrying a vanilla folder of documents. "The Reichstag has called. They've established communications with the LATP, and are awaiting further confirmstion before they launch the fleeg sir."
"Seems reasonable. Anything else?" The Admiral replied, stroking his grey beard
"They want a full Order of Battle sent to Comrade Emmerich aswell sir."
"So be it. Dismissed." The Admiral ordered. The sailor obeyed and left the office as the Admiral opened up his laptop and typed up a Order of Battle, and sent it to his general, who would send it to the Reichstag..

Helping those in need

The world is a dangerous place, with no doubt. Revolutions always occur, and combat always happens. Even when Germans live their relatively peaceful lives, in the socialist Utopia they reside in, small conflict occurs even between two normal workers.

Wether or not the Fatherland participates in a International conflict is always a question for the government to answer. After some fierce debate, the Socialist Reich has chosen to participate in conflict.

This is no Imperialistic capitalist expansion, as some fascists have already labeled it in an effort to take down the glorious socialist Fatherland. It is an answer to a cry of help. Takika has been in a state of despair and poverty for many years. And after recent natural disasters, the cry had turned into a roar! The Reich, wishing to help those in need, has decided to begin answering the call. Soon, the call will be gone and only a socialist republic will stand in its place...

Ursus, Ursus Major, Ursus

The Great Leader of Ursus, Premier Josef Ivanov paced around his office on a cool summer day. He was conflicted on what to set his sights on, as he had to maintain the duty of ruling a nation, which kept him from expanding elsewhere. But, he believed that if he managed his time well enough, he could start a "side project" so to speak.

A door slammed, and an Officer ran into the office.

"What do you think you are doing? If I find any scratches on that door, you'll be-" Said Josef, before he was interrupted.

"Deeply sorry to interrupt you Premier, but our scouts have come back with great news. There is a land mass slightly smaller than ours about 7500km to the west of us, which seems to be called "Takikan". After further investigation of it, the scouts discovered that Takikan had communist supporters!" Said the Officer.

"No worry, you don't need to apologize. Now continue about your findings." Said Josef.

"The town with the strongest Communist support seems to be the small municipality of Tegenj, which is to the south of an unknown nation on the landmass. We believe that if we send a small expeditionary force of about 1500 soldiers, (comprised of 1000 infantry and 500 artillery and cavalry) we'll be able to secure the town in the name of Ursus, with the aid of the current Liberation Army stationed there." Said the Officer.

"We'll need to contact them first to notify them of an Ursusian intervention, but how will we do that?" Asked Josef, sitting down in his chair while looking at the Officer with curiosity.

"We do have several landing craft that we can send with our troops to make contact." Said the Officer.

"Good man. Now, you are dismissed. I will give the order for the message, and you will be promoted due to your findings. Good day." Said Josef, dismissing the Officer.

"Yes Sir. Good day." Replied the Officer.

Josef then sat back down and started thinking about how contact would be made. He sat alone in his office for the rest of the day, pondering the upcoming intervention.

Mahmood al-Bazri's Giant Mansion, Undisclosed Location
Mahmood spent several hours, searching continuously and relentlessly to find who was or is the leader of the technate movement. He was so determined to get involved that he even asked Omar for help. An hour later he receives an email from Omar, indicating a rather weird and possibly sarcastic name Mr. Professor. Mahmood immediately calls Omar, offended by the possible fact that he was making fun of him.

"Mr. Professor? Are you serious? What do you think am I? Five?!" said an infuriated Mahmood

"Calm your engines buddy. I've got it from a trusted source. You can send whoever holds that name a message and thank me later. Anyways, I'm coming over as we speak. I want to finalize this BS today, we can't take too long to go over there" said Omar.

Later on, Omar comes over, holding several papers and is accompanied by 3 other men, he storms into Mahmood's living room while he's watching TV.

"Hello Hello boss! Ok then! Let's get serious now. These guys over here are Majed, Ahmed, and Badr. As I mentioned earlier, all are retired and served with me. You can trust me on these men. Majed served with me during my second and third time serving in the jungles, '82 and '83, a good and trusted man. Ahmed served with me once, but his skill had actually impressed me to the point that I ordered him into my unit back in the military, he also has piloting skills. Badr here is a long time friend, served a total of five times with me, including in Kredza. Trust me boss, I trust all of these men with my life." implied Omar.

"Well then, we shall not obstruct our meeting any longer. We need to get to business." said an eager Mahmood.

"Ok then, we'll need your errr "interest and support" both financially and morally. As I said earlier, I'll need between 200 and 600 men. I'll go for 600. We'll use the two giant cargo planes to transport the men and supplies, but, we'll need the "professor" to assure us a safe landing spot. I'm also asking to deploy a couple of the light tanks we have, you know, the ones with the autoloaders, it might be a bit different to handle than an APC, but still, they are rather light and might do us good. We'll also deploy a couple of helicopters, but not too many and that's that for us. Now for the technate, I mean, we can't go in without our presents you know? How about those old G55 rifles? We don't use them no more and they're just sitting in storage. Also, give them some Shaytan V1 anti-tank and V2 anti-air missiles, they'll need it I assure you." said Omar

"I can fly one of the helicopters, I'll need a co-pilot with brains and that's pretty much it. I piloted helicopters before and after retiring from the military, I worked as a volunteer pilot for the local law enforcement therefore I'm pretty sure of my skills. I've also flown some of those small planes delivering packages and what not when I worked at the local airport in al-Rubaidiya Island." said Ahmed, a former Major in the Omarian Military.

"Now, about the training, you mentioned earlier didn't you, Omar? We can train them up until where on a scale of 1 to 10? Now I know that we'll supply them with some weaponry, but in terms of training, how will we handle that?" said Majed

"I'd say 5.5 to 6.5, we want them to learn how to properly shoot their rifles, not hip firing them as you see on TV, so as for basic operation of machinery. Its a civil war, I'm pretty sure that they'll capture whatever the government or military has. As for supplies, as I just said, the company has a large stock of unused G55 rifles and Shaytan that are just rotting in "empty" warehouses. We can surly donate those as some sort of gift as we are welcomed into their lovely country."
replied Omar, once again smoking one of the cigars.

"Ok then, I'll send in about how many? 1,500 rifles? We'll put in some vehicles, four tanks, a couple of helicopters, and a couple of hundred men? That's seems fine to me. Seems like you've got your deal. I'll try and contact this Mr. Professor person and see what I'll be able to arrange."
said Mahmood

"2,000 rifles should be fine, that is if you actually have that much of a quantity. I have a suggestion to make, it is that we divide everything. I mean, we're sending in how many men, 600 am I right? We can divide them around, we can't be walking around in one big bunch. As for our landing, supposing that we are actually going there, we'll load one plane with the vehicles, and the other with the men, and the rifles that we are giving to them. A couple of return flights and we should be ready by around 3 days in there." said Badr

"And remember, we are there as military advisors, NOT I repeat NOT, put a line under these two words NOT MERCENARIES." said Omar, pointing around to mark the importance of this statement. "So in conclusion, we'll travel in through 2 giant cargo planes, 600 men, the 4 light tanks, 10 - 15 APCs, and 12 to 16 helicopters, mind you that a couple of them at least should be battle-capable just in case we run into any trouble. Also, we should not forget the rifles. They should be on the first flight there, we should show them that we aren't just there for our personal gains. And as for that my dear Mahmood, we shall discuss that later on." continued Omar

"Alright then, I have a message to write. And so to clear things up Mr. Omar, we have a deal. Remember that well have another meeting to recheck and finalize everything, until then." said Mahmood, shaking the hands of the three men.

Capitol Building,Homedale
People were surronding the Capitol building of Vulkata with John in the balcony.

Most of the time the balcony is used for John's speeches on declaring war and this isn't much of a suprised.

"You know what time it is everyone" John said "I a magnitude more or less 8.9 or 9.9 i can't remember hit a country called Taika yes me too i just heard of it anyways with the earthquake a dam collapse, not much damage to their towns but some flood but our intel says that there are Communists and other threats in the area but we've fought so much we're being shot like soda cans am i right? Anyways we can't help much but any donations if we ask you will be welcomed and given as a relief if there are still affected areas, the Workforce will be called if the dam needs rebuilding but we're just supports in this war.

That means we're not a hundred percent in this war something like that and will only give support to allies or help whether or not they are soldiers or civilians and here's a bigger twist.

We will heal and help anyone Communist, democratic, monarch or Dictatorship or anything else and send them back home.

We request to other countries not to shoot any incoming Vulkatan ships requesting for their patients to be picked up as for we really have and we ask you a favor to not shoot them while they are speeding away thanks" John smiled and the crowd clapped and the army is waiting to be deployed

When people see tiger, they see a roaring king of the jungle announcing his presence. Nothing could be further from truth. When tiger strikes, he does so without noticing it's prey; and the very moment when it does, prey usually has mere seconds to escape before being mauled to death. With Nihonese tiger, the situation was the same.

Deep inside the enormous bunker being headquarters of the Imperial Nihonese navy, stood Admiral Kobayashi Shinji - a man of imposing height and equally imposing character. The famous admiral was over 190 centimeters tall - with a posture that would make most people never cease to wonder about his body. Deep below the layer made of white uniform of the Kaigun was flesh as though as steel; muscles, though not immerse, were extremely well developed with not a gram of fat being present, each of them looking like bamboo tree - not wide, but certainly durable and above all, flexible. Highly contrasting with his build was his square - shaped wide face - a sprinkled face of an older man in his 50s, with extended cheekbones pair of sky - colored blue large eyes looking around, scanning everything like a pair of cameras. When those two became combined, one could see a picture that could be used in books to illustrate Sun Tzu, or some typical Nihonese military maxim; calm face not showing any emotion, peaceful, but accompanied strong body ready to kill within one motion. After all, Nihonese believed that peace can be reached only when every enemy was eliminated - either convinced to switch sides, or simply killed or subjugated. Coupled with that was the myth Kobayashi developed around himself - of a silent, romantic submarine commander who never strayed from the path of the warrior and whose life was full of romantic chases and brave, often bordering madness attacks on enemy ships, before he was promoted first to Commander, then to Admiral and put in command of Northwestern Expeditionary fleet. Legend in his own lifetime, Kobayashi was however experienced commander, who gained this sort of fame for a reason.

Slowly scanning over the map, Admiral Kobayashi thought about the orders he received not so long ago from Ishikawa. Nihon had plans to enter the conflict; yet those plans required uttermost secrecy to be completed, and he couldn't disclose them even to the nationalist government; said government was going to receive a note only when first platforms needed for the strike are in position, ready to complete their tasks.

And, as he moved his finger over the map, he was ready. The day when the Tsunami rose yet again... came.

Far away from crowded harbours filled with enormous ships - children of naval engineering of several Nihonese dockyards - five shapes swimming while keeping distances from each other slowly moved towards Harrison's Trench, as in the west was known one of deepest trenches in the world. The shapes, slowly descending below the waters, would then split out towards various locations they were going to swim to. What were those long, dark shapes slowly making their way in there? Whole five were the pride of Kaigun; the submarines of the Imperial Nihonese Navy, it's "assassins mace" against the Shogun's enemies. Even when Kaigun operated many aircraft carriers, it were submarines that more appealed to the Imperial Nihonese Navy admirals; their concept of employment, to hide beneath the waves and strike swiftly, then disappear again in the darkness of the vast oceans, just like tigers do when hunting in the jungle, so liked by the Nihonese. The five were Type Kairyu, which, after receiving several upgrades - were about to be combat tested again.

Five Kairyus, taking totally different avenues of approach, would be dispersed all over the coast and left to hunt ships carrying aid that Gunpeitai would designate as "aiding communists'. Such ships were to be sunk on first notice, without asking for permission. Descending on depth of -125 meters beneath the sea level and finding themselves beneath the thermocline, submarines accelerated to speed of 22 knots, their engines running literally as silent as SSN can, making it a challenge for ASW to detect them. It would take them some time to arrive, but certainly - this hunt will be a good one. With them came a single Junsen loaded with ground attack munitions.

This wasn't going to be the only thing to do; this was only the beginning. Far above the earth, high in the orbit, several reconnaissance satellites was going to fly over the area of interest, gazing through it's camera onto the surface, taking photos of every important object. Officially registered as commercial satellite in Wenchuan, this orbiting spy would take photos of movements mostly in coastal areas; another one will come soon to fly across the Katekod then head further south - east. Several hours later, two ELINT satellites would come. If their officially civilian status was not enough to keep them away from trouble, each of them possessed a module that would release dozens of small metal objects, even increasing pollution of the atmosphere and causing operating satellites even more problematic. Major areas of interest were: Northwest, around Katekod, and southern part of the coast.

Meanwhile, four strategic recoanissance drones were about to start from several areas of Nihon. Ku-215 was rough equivalent of global hawk in nature - and would be used to conduct some reconnaissance for the Nihonese forces entering the conflict.

ORBAT

- 4x Type Ku-215 Reconnaissance drone
- 5x Kairyu class SSN

*** Tosa, Nihon Snake Squad HQ

Only sound that was filling the room was loud clicking. In this room dozens of hackers were sitting, all observing screens of their computers as they prepared for their next attack. These men and women were infamous Imperial Cybernetic Operations command, also known by it's aliases - "Cybersentai"; one of most hated units around the world, especially in counties that opposed the Nihon. Their job was routinely breaking fun of the Nihon's enemies through well planed and prepared cyberattacks - the art which they mastered, often "networking" with hacking groups from civilian sphere, using face of "Snake Squad" - a Nationalist hacker group that DDoSed MMO games that had pro-homosexual message. There were even special schools for hackers where multiple specialists trained men and women in the art of cyberwarfare - and it was required that every member of nationalist organizations knows at least basics to take part in offensive cyberattacks on enemy's infrastructure in case of war. Highly motivated and deceptive, the unit located in Tosa was one of top units within this group, even if every "Theater" had designated cyberwarfare formation, not to mention countless non-military ones operating according to Nihonese military doctrine. Inside the building however, hackers awaited their commander, who soon entered the room. Senior Colonel* Fujino Noriaki - a short man with square face whose presence hadn't made people tremble in fear like they did with some officers from Kaifun. Yet no one should underestimate him - Noriaki was former leader of Nihonese Cybermafia, was pardoned in exchange for service in Tokkeitai. Now, happy that he could do what he was best at to enemies of Dai Nihon and profit on it a lot, General Fujino was about to unleash hell on communist internet sites. His forces were getting ready as he sat down in the chair at the corner of the room and looked with his small eyes at his hackers as they were launching their programs.

"SITREP" he shouted to one of his officers, who was responsible for coordinating the attacks.

"Commies hadn't bought on arms dealer scam, taisho!" shouted one of junior officers.

"Then we are going DDoS way" Noriaki was already imagining everything in his head... the faces of commies whose computers were about to be broken... "I am issuing an OPORD. Await it."

After OPORD was released, heated discussion took place. Imperial Nihonese Army always put emphasis on mission - type tactics and less rigid leadership; junior officers, after being informed of commander's intent, their role and what part it will play in overall plan, were allowed to provide feedback and granted complete autonomy over how to realize their tasks. Meanwhile specialists assigned from Gunpeitai knowing Taikakan language screened the internet - alongside entire network of volunteer "trolls" recruited to wage the keyboard war - would search the communist and technate websites, classify them according to importance and content, then post everything on private forums used by nationalist groups, through which Nihonese cyberwarfare units cooperated with them. Once classification was done, both commies and technate were about to feel the burn of Nihonese keyboard warriors.

After each one has been classified, the storm would begin. To carry out the attack a tool known as "Katana/888" developed by one of legends of Nihonese cyberwarfare, original snake squad founder known as "Kitsune/Ronin" - wanted in several counties for millions of damage he caused to several video games that - in his opinion - promoted homosexuality -, this tool was based on "Slowloris" and expanded for "patriotic hacking". To bring down the website "Katana/888" would keep sending millions upon millions of connections to a website - and try to keep them open for as long as possible by never completing the request and keeping it partial. As a result of such spam of requests - a classic DDoS attack - the website server will be overloaded, and thus brought down. Done by multiple hackers at once - often using several botnets, infected computers all over the world - Technate and Communist cyberpropaganda was about to take a big hit....

ORBAT:
- Over 6000 hackers (Nationalist activists + military personnel) DDoSing multiple websites through multiple Botnets (so you may double or even triple the number).

Admiralty Docks
Audrache, Tyrnica
June 19th, 2016

"Is she ready to go, James?"

The salt was strong in the air as the light wind breezed through her long hair, catching the strands and attempting to dislodge them from her neat tie. Her uniform was immaculate, navy blue and as crisp as the day it was shipped, pristine to the millimetre. Of course, it was all for show. The moment she stepped onto that ship and into the clear, wide ocean, the water would attack her jacket with spray and the wind would throw her hair around wildly. There was almost no point in wearing the peaked cap upon her head, for that would be thrown away by the forces of the sea just like the rest.

She loved it. The feeling of being free, bracing her legs as she turned the ship to port or starboard while fighting against the raging current of the ocean – the feeling enraptured her, more than any stories of legendary royal swords or ancient northern forests. This was her ship. Her life.

"Just as soon as we've loaded the provisions on board, Capt'n," James responded, cracking a wide grin. "I won't have ya starvin' on 'ta count o' me!"

The old westerner was viewed as something of a celebrity in the docklands of Audrache. His endearing accent and easygoing attitude had resulted in his evolution into, essentially, the trademark of the Admiralty Docks. Every day, a ship would come into harbour, fresh off immigration patrol or back from a long journey to aid in a crisis. The moment the ship moored, James would be there with a few grilled sausages and an box full of alcohol, striking up conversations with old friends and congratulating midshipmen with a bottle of beer.

"She's a real beaut, ain't she?" James asked her, still sporting his famous smile.

She turned to look at the mass of grey-blue steel moored alongside. The Evverkäben was only a little over a hundred and twenty metres in length, but it looked like it could be a battleship from her point of view. She was part of a fleet of Kürskäringar-class frigates commissioned in 2006, and had been christened with a name that was as old as the Royal Navy itself.

Emily couldn't help but grin as she appreciated James' definition of "beauty." The Evverkäben sported two 25 mm machine guns and several imposing missiles, complementing a further array of formidable armaments. The Crown was parading her as a lightly armed humanitarian aid ship for the benefit of the press, but the Admiralty knew better – she was a warship.

"Take care of 'er, ya hear?" James acted like he was patronising her, but Emily knew that he was being himself – had she not known him for years, his unshakeable grin would have told her so regardless.

"You know I will, James," Emily replied, smiling in return as James left. She'd commanded the Evverkäben for three years; she knew the shape of the wheel and the give on the rudder. She even knew the noisy doors in the hold, such as they were.

She scarce had another moment to think before three other people strode down the dock towards her – the first, she recognised, was Admiral Jonathan Lindauer. He was known as a strict man, and while his harshness was well known throughout the cadet ranks of the navy, she'd not yet experienced his hospitality first-hand.

Although, judging by the expression on his face, it looked like she could very well be on the receiving end this time.

"Captain Rosenberg," he began, addressing her by her formal title, "I assume you are aware with the current status of your mission?"

Emily started, for she feared that her mission would be cancelled, all of her preparations and excitement having been in vain.

"No, sir, I was not aware of any changes to the current situation," she replied calmly, "As far as I am aware, I'm to deliver medical aid to the cities of Katekod, Otiver, Predibos and Opokazh."

Lindauer raised an eyebrow. "No," he said curtly, "You're not going to be sending the Evverkäben anywhere south of Katekod. The socialists are the only ones who have accepted our request thus far."

He made an unpleasant expression, showing what he thought about the other three groups in the Takikan Republic. He'd probably have a few choice words to say about the country, too.

"Instead, you're going to moor up at Katekod and travel inland to Stazhos, then south to Stahova. We're assuming that the Liberation Army will supply you with vehicles to get there, but I'm not sure if we can assume anything with these southerners."

Emily smiled inwardly. Jonathan was a man who'd make his point known, even if it was uncommon or unconventional. That's how he'd risen so high, she reasoned.

"Furthermore," he continued, "You're going to be taking more weapons than we'd planned for you to have, as a result of this request by the LATP. You'll be travelling through hostile country on the way to Stazhos and no one wants to see Tyrnican dead spark the beginning of a war."

He nodded to his two associates, who were struggling to hold a very large box, full of handheld armaments.

"Is all of this understood, Captain?"

Emily could only nod her assent, before gathering herself up and looking the admiral in the eye, "Yes, sir."

"Good," he replied, as curtly as his introduction, "Safe travels, Captain."

He motioned for the other two men to follow, who happily put down the crate and followed the Admiral. Emily could only swallow – her nervousness was in part fear, but also an excitement at the unknown.

She was in the navy. What else had she signed up for, but adventure?

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION

RECIPIENT: Socialist Government, Liberation Army for the Takikan People
SUBJECT: Humanitarian Aid
ENCRYPTION: Moderate

Greetings, Honourable Socialists of Takika,

We are honoured that you would accept our request. As is only expected of us as a complimentary force, we will of course oblige your own request. Under the command of the esteemed Captain Emily Rosenberg, the HMS Evverkäben and two Alsingborg-class corvettes will travel to Katekod, where the crews of all three ships will meet with whatever officials may be present in the city. The crew will remain, providing aid and food for many before travelling to Stazhos.

We ask that you provide the crews of these ships with sufficient vehicles to travel to Stazhos and Stahova efficiently and quickly, for our benefit as much as yours. Furthermore, any other requests to aid settlements across Takika will be considered, so please do not hesitate to ask if the proud peoples of the Republic are in need of assistance.

With Regards,
The Government of Tyrnica

NANJIWA

Image

Welcome to Nanjiwa - the glittering capital of Flauc, famous for being one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. The city is mostly made up of glittering skyscrapers and corporation buildings. Since Flauc strongly embraces capitalism, many corporations are located in Nanjiwa, some even basing their operations there, to spread their products.
Inside of the Old Town lays the government building, which is surrounded by antique buildings that are evidence to the rich history.

In front of the government building stands a statue with a plaque on it, commemorating the massacre that took place in Nanjiwa after the communists took the city. It is especially this event and statue that reminds most Flaucians of the communist menace that has murdered and tortured many in the past. During the war, Flauc turned it's head to it's faithful neighbors for help, namely Nihon, which helped Flauc reconstruct it's economy after the war. With the war finished, the Nihonese assisted Flauc throughout the post-war years, and helped reconstruct the military and many other important services.

However, now, inside of the government building, the Prime Minister, Ryūji Kurokawa was debating with his Generals. Flauc had turned it's head towards Takika, a nation that was once prosperous, but now it was ruined by a Richter 8.8 earthquake, which destroyed one of the damns that prevented the flooding of the nation for many years. It seemed that the democratic government was attempting to salvage the situation and requested funds from it's people, but the country was completely flushed down the toilet after military commanders began a coup d' etat, which resulted in a power vacuum, which then resulted in communists and technocrats vying for power.

Telecommunications were shut down for the most part - the floods and landslides after the collapse of the Karet dam resulted in the loss of billions in money, as well as the destruction of many families and lives of other people. Houses were just carried away in the waters in cities, and those who could not swim were left behind. Overall, a country that was once a regional power had turned into a punching bag for those who wanted to, and then this punching bag was ripped apart.

Kurokawa was sitting on his chair in the Prime Ministerial office, before hearing the news. Afterwards, he called a emergency meeting to decide what to do. After the representatives from the numerous military branches had arrived along with foreign policy experts, the Prime Minister began speaking to the crowd, which was seemingly surprised, possibly wondering what has happened, as no crisis had occurred in Flauc.

"As you might have recently heard, or might have not heard, there has been a Richter 8.8 earthquake in Takika, which resulted in the collapse of a dam and the flood of the nation.. usually, the authorities would have taken care of this, but the democratic government had no interest in it's people until the earthquake. Soon later, the military took the chance and began a coup d' etat, ousting the government and destabilizing the situation even further, creating a power vacuum..", before being able to continue, a General had raised his hand. Kurokawa gave a faint "Yes." and allowed the General to speak and voice his thoughts.

"I suppose you are telling us this because we are going to intervene? What about the crisis in the Iberis Peninsula?"

"Yes, we will intervene. Two of our allies in SACTO have already intervened, namely the Empire of Nihon and the Organized States. We aren't a weak nation.. do you think that we are weak? We can support both interventions. We can't look weak in front of our allies."

Taking a deep breath, Kurokawa continued speaking about the situation at Takika.

"Supporting the military junta is out of the question. Even if they want the best for their people, they escalated the situation and created a power vacuum, allowing the communists and technocrats take advantage of the situation. If you talk about helping the communists, then you are not my General at all, the technocrats just aren't our thing."

Kurokawa had obtained this information from the military intelligence services of the nation, which were observing the situation in Takika for quite a while, starting from the earthquake. The collapse of the dams were the catalyst, if it was only the earthquake that could have happened, then the situation could have been salvaged. But as of now, it was irreversible.

"I think that we should assist our allies. The democratic government is the only official one to us anyways. Letting the region be taken over by communist militias would be horrible. I think this discussion is not relevant. Supporting any other side, thus turning against our allies, would be foolish." said the personal adviser of Kurokawa, which was also a expert on foreign affairs.

"Then it is decided. Please, send out a message of support to the government of Otiver. I don't think we will be sending any forces for a while, but possibly sending a patrol navy to the Navec Sea would be more appropriate."

The men nodded and the discussion went on for several hours. Generals and advisers were thinking out possible scenarios and what would happen, and it was decided in the end that Flauc would send out a message of support and recognition to the government of Otiver, and would request freedom of movement inside their territory to eliminate any threat, however, with a note that no forces will be sent immediately, and a navy would rather patrol the Navec Sea for a while, however, a small force of mercenaries might be sent within a few weeks.

EMPIRE OF FLAUC

To: Republic of Takika in Otiver
From: Government of the Empire of Flauc

Greetings.

Recently, we have discovered that a dire civil conflict is beginning to lurk in your great nation. It is one of our best interests to prevent the collapse of legitimate governments that could be overthrown by other violent groups. As such, the Empire of Flauc extends it's hand of support to the Republic of Takika. We would like to clarify that the Empire of Flauc recognizes your government as the sole ruling government of Takika. It is our greatest concern that violent groups have attempted to seize power, and as such, we offer your nation our help. Rest assured, our nation has no alternate goals that might result in harm to the Takikan nation. We are apart of SACTO, an anti-communist organization, and just like one of our close allies, we would like to sign a status of force agreement, so our forces may arrive and assist your government in eliminating the rogue military and socialist & terrorist groups as soon as possible. We would like to note that we will be working together with the Great Empire of Nihon, as they are our close allies.

Godspeed!
Office of the Prime Minister.

ooc:sorry for shitty post writer's block hit me hard

Buskeja
"So in brief, we have a PMC offering assistance to us, which is the good news, and our websites and other cyberspatial assets however have been hit by multiple DDOS attacks and it will take some time for them to get back up. Our corner of the internet is quite minuscule and obscure, whoever could have done that..."

"Are you suggesting..."

"It's certainly a spark for some serious drama between...them and the Odryskans. If of course Nayadro sends the cargo ships as promised."

All attending sweated, even though the name of those who have committed the attacks - easily obtainable through checking records - was not even mentioned. Regardless, they resumed confidence in their strength and their Odryskan backers.

"Try to recover the sites and servers as soon as possible once the attacks subside." the figure ordered. "On less grim notes, we'll immediately respond to this offer by this...'Triple Barrel'." With that, the congregation dispersed themselves, returning to their 'duties' at the university. Outside, the squeal of tracks and the buzz of vehicles continued as garrisons of Buskeja exchanged shifts after lengthy confrontations with the junta troops, who were now all but capable of launching an offensive of any strength.

SUBJECT: RE: Assistance

We gladly accept your offer, and appreciate your efforts in assisting in the professionalization of our human assets, as well as
your deployment of employees to combat in the area. With this gratitude, we shall offer you proper required intelligence for
your beginning of operations in the area, including deployment bridgehead points and suitable contact points.

Otiver
It was somewhat embarrassing when the Takikan representatives were inquired of corruption and governmental inefficiency in the role of the instability of the nation. Regardless, it would be far more acceptable, by modern moral standards, to admit such wrongings, with more or less some avoiding of direct language on the matter to reduce the ethical stigma produced from such a reply. "It is a shame that, indeed, such has played a role, cumulating until the collapse of the dam became the crushing straw on the camel's back triggering the rise of insurgent groups." the premier replied.

"The state of government finances...is, quite frankly, in an unorganized state. Most resources have been taken over by the Junta, and we have been stripped from any form of official revenue source due to taxation and trade no longer going to us, excluding the trade - or whatever is left thereof - in ports still allegiant to our government."
