Hawaii

The three Yamato-class battleships near Pearl Harbor continued to fire their massive 460 mm guns (9 on each ship) at the approaching Washintonian ships. Their 150 mm guns (12 on each ship) were aimed at the now discovered Ascooban destroyer. The shells from the enemy destroyer could not penetrate the thick armor on the Yamato-class battleships.

The three Yamato-class battleships near to the Ascooban battleships, turned all of their 460 mm and six of their 150 mm guns towards to Oblivion-class Battleships and started firing them at high reload speeds. The captains of the ships were confused by the lack of fire from the enemy battleships' main guns. The cruisers and destroyers near the group of Yamato-class battleships also engaged the enemy battleships with main armament fire and torpedoes.

The Enemy submarines were detected by sonar and were almost instantly pursued by the fleet's twelve submarines.

Meanwhile, the Juggernaut continued to fire at Pearl Harbor, though the commander was determining if a new location should be targeted.

Meanwhile, the air battle was fierce. The fighters and bombers seemed to have a great amount of success, though some aircraft were becoming a bother to the heavy bombers that were dropping their payloads on the enemy targets. Some of the fighters in the second wave were forced to peel off and attack the enemy bombers.

As the enemy bombers were a ways from the carriers, the captain of one of the guarding Yamato-class battleships turned broadside at captain's orders and flooded some of its port-side ballast tanks to give the battleship a 5 degree tilt. Using the altitude of the enemy bombers, reported by the pursuing Zeros, that Yamato-class battleship inclined its guns to place the shell trajectories in the path of some of the incoming bombers and fired. Their goal was to use the main artillery in conjunction with the computers and reported enemy positioning to create and artificial high-caliber AA fire. They the ship then started firing its rounds.

OOC: I forgot about the mine field, but due to the amount of armor on the hull of the Yamato-class (the only class to really get close to the mine field) the mines would not be that effective.

Midway

The Fuso-class battleship continued ins heavy AP fire against the St. George, using all of its main and secondary guns. The enemy's shells impacted the Fuso-class ship severely damaging the rear conning tower and the central smoke stack.

The Yamato-class battleship receives the fire from the Washington, though some shells miss, causing damage to the bow of the ship. The Yamato-class battleship fires more AP rounds at the guns of the ROWS Washington .

The other Imperial Battleship continue their heavy fire of AP rounds at the Auroara and Wyoming, aiming at critical areas of the enemy ships. The Imperial Cruisers and destroyers saw the enemy ships split into to groups, so they did the same, each tasked with destroying the enemy ships. The Imperial Destroyers and Cruisers fired their guns and torpedoes at their assigned targets. The Imperial ships fighting the enemy offensive group took advantage of the close combat to fire torpedoes at the ships and maximize damage to the enemy.

Above Midway, the Zeros engaged the enemy fighters and bombers. The Imperial pilots were taking advantage of their sheer number of Zeros in the air, as it seemed to cause the enemy aircraft to split up more. The Zeros that were not in a fight with another aircraft directly started attacking the enemy bombers.

North Amwell

Radar picked up enemy aircraft, which the Zeros in the area went to intercept in large numbers, having expected a air raid of the fake facility (as the fake base was built to attract enemy air raids). Meanwhile, on the front line, many soldiers prepared for the long campaign ahead, as heavy bombers soared overhead to decimate the enemy lines (that the surviving members of the unit that tested the enemy defenses were able to report).

OOC: Wouldn't that group attack from behind, as my group is south of Greyling, which was the last RPed position of that armored division?

The Imperial Palace

The Imperial Emperor just sent presents for the Ascooban Emperor to receive. One of the Presents consisted a painting of a lone Yamato-class battleship being depicted near a number of Oblivion-class battleships, which were depicted as being on fire and sinking. The second present was a newspaper clipping that said that the original inhabitants peacefully surrendered and were now living on the island in harmony with the colonists. A staged photograph in the newspaper clipping depicted natives shaking hands of imperial colonists. In reality, those in the image were all imperial citizens, but the 'natives' were Japanese people dressed up and made to look like the natives for the photograph. The last present was a letter wishing for the Ascooban Emperor to get better and that no attempt should have ever been tried by the government of the Scarlet Shogunate. Along with that letter was a signed declaration that the ICPS would eventually send a million dollars as compensation for the unnecessary cause of injury by the Scarlet Shogunate's government.

The Royal Palace
Flandre Scarlet called the Emperors of Dragomeria and Ascoobis, Apologizing for the Assassination Attempt and informing them she would do something about it.

SED Headquarters
Flandre Scarlet had the head of the SED Fired and it's Espionage operations in the ATCO Shut down, with hundreds of Agents forced to kill themselves or turn themselves in within the ATCO. She would not Tolerate such barbaric actions when it has been condemned by her lovely Ally.

OOC: I'm back and ready to resume. By the way, he 2nd Armored and the 4th ID were last RP's at Grayling. Other elements will attack Force B.

Midway Naval Air Station

Admiral Cunningham, wounded by the pounding from the Yamato orders the Washington and the rest of the battle fleet to break off to the North and RV with another battleship squadron steaming South from Bremerton. The cruiser ROWS Madison (CL-14) takes three torpedoes to her port side from the Dragomerian fleet as well as withering fire from their cruisers. Shortly afterwords, the captain orders abandon ship and twenty minutes later, the Madison slips beneath the waves taking 234 men with her. The remaining screening warships that split into groups are ordered to fire their last torpedo spread and then create a smoke screen to mask the retreat of he task force.

In the air, the Wildcats peel off to deal with the Zeroes. Realizing that the Zeroes have weaker armor than their own, they will try to use their armor to soak up the damage. Plus, early experience showed that the fuel tanks of the zeroes were unarmored and were non-self ceiling. This causes the naval pilots to aim more for the center of the aircraft as it will likely burn. They begin to also work in pairs in order to distract them while one fighter lines up a shot. The bombers all the while begin their attack run on the older Dragomerian battleships. The dive bombers target a few old Kongo-class battleships while the torpedo planes target the older Fuso-class battleships.

North Amwell

The incoming Dragomerian aircraft are picked up on radar headed for the ATCO lines along the Yukon river. Immediately, as many interceptors are scrambled to deal with the incoming bombers, while some P-40s are scrambled to take care of the escorting fighters. Ground based AA opens up on them at given opportunities.

Meanwhile, realizing that Force B of the Dragomerian Army has made it to Bethel, North Amwell, the 8th Infantry Division located near Shageluk, North Amwell, is ordered to proceed to Bethel and halt the advance of the Dragomerian forces long enough for the 11th Cavalry division to arrive. Over night, the soldiers of the 8th are loaded onto trucks and halftracks and are shipped south during the night to avoid any air attacks. They arrive near Aniak, North Amwell by dawn the next day on June 21, 1940. Two battalions of tanks from the 38th Armored Regiment are headed to Aniak too to reinforce the 8th.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

The battleships Chespeake and North Dakota take incoming fire from the Yamato's class battleships just outside Pearl Harbor. With their primary armament operational, they return fire with their 16 and 14-in main armament. Trapped inside the harbor though, their movement is heavily restricted though and some incoming rounds strike home.

Meanwhile, the Marines on the Big Island help escort civilians into the hills and forests around the island that are not burning to keep them safe from the invasion force that is sure to come. The rest prepare their defensive positions for the oncoming invasion that will soon occur. The Marine AA units roar into action firing at the incoming attack planes that are targeting the civilian towns and the military installations.

Midway

The Yamato-class battleship observed the Washington starting to retreat, along with the rest of the Washintonian fleet. The Imperial fleet saw this as a chance to get some last-minute rounds fired. The Yamato-class focused its fire at the retreating ROWS Washington.

In the air, the Zeros saw the tactic that the enemy fighters were doing. The enemy's attempt at causing damage to the fuel tanks of the Zeros were in vain because, unknown by the Washintonian fighters, the Zeros in-fact had heavy armor around their fuel tank and did in-fact have self-sealing fuel tanks.

Half of the Zeros, being free from the attacks from the enemy fighters, successfully were able to get near the enemy dive bombers and torpedo bombers. When the Zeros got close to the enemy bombers, still being far from the Imperial fleet itself, started firing their heavy guns at the enemy bombers. The Zeros were going to keep the bombers too busy reach their targets by forcing them into aerial combat.

North Amwell

Many Zeros converged onto the enemy interceptors and P-40's to keep them busy while the bombers do their runs. The heavy bombers started on their runs, as the enemy fighters were kept busy by the Zeros. The information given by the surviving forces from testing the defenses enabled for the coordinates to be inputted into their targeting computer (described in a previous post) to ensure greater accuracy.

Force B was busy shoring up the defenses of Bethel when the enemy arrived near Aniak. Soon they finished the trenches around Bethel and the make-shift airfield was being competed. Many artillery guns were placed around the town in case of an attack by enemy forces. Meanwhile, the soldiers of Force B were preparing for a strike on the enemy forces.

Hawaii

The IJN Yamato took hits from the two Washintonian ships, but little damage was caused due to the shots hitting the heavily armored hull. The Yamato-class battleships at Pearl harbor continued their shelling of the two ships.

The part of the fleet off of the big island, continued firing at the targets on the island of firing HE shells at the forested areas to set them on fire.

The bombers above the island continued their runs.

Midway Island Naval Air Station

Despite the withering last salvo from the Dragomerian forces, the batteships and the rest of the Washingtonian surface fleet manages to break off to the North. The ROWS Washington (BB-28) suffered significant damage and is to head to Bremerton for immediate repairs. The ROWS St. George (BB-27) also suffered significant damage during the battle, nut less than the Washington. The ROWS Wyoming (BB-21) and ROWS Aurora (BB-16) both suffered moderate damage but are able to be considered combat effective. Their escorts, screening with smoke then break off to the North as well.

Meanwhile, the bombers, braving the enemy Zero fighters and AA fire start their runs on the battleships, then peel away as fast as they can towards the carriers. Some of the air wings suffered some serious casualties during the attack runs. Towards the west, the air group sent to attack the enemy carriers has turned around due to no luck finding the carriers. Many will make the second attack run on the way back in order to release their ordinance.

Midway Island itself suffered heavy damage. Despite this though, it still has one operational airstrip that can launch and recover aircraft. Repair work to damaged installations, runways, and hangars are to begin immediately once the enemy has left the vicinity. Most of it's shore guns are still operational.

North Amwell

The Interceptors try to dodge the Zeroes long enough to fire their heavy armament at the Dragomerian bombers. The P-40s all the while try to keep the Zeroes distracted with them riding on their tails. As the enemy bombers dropped their payload, a number struck artillery positions and some motor pools. Damage overall was moderate due to their good bomb sight accuracy but disrupted by the stiff AA fire.

Meanwhile near Aniak, North Amwell, advanced scouts from the 31st Reconnaissance Squadron of the 8th Infantry Division sends several M3 Light tanks out to scout for any Dragomerian forces headed for Aniak and pushing North. The rest of the division digs in around Aniak in preparation for the enemy push.

Bremerton Naval Station, Washington

All the JPACC officials are assembled to come up with a plan to defend Hawaii. With Midway barely saved, Hawaii is their next big concern. With the mauling received near Midway, Washington's battleship force is forced to either head in for repairs or defend coastal waters for fear of an attack on Puget Sound and the West Coast. The carriers, having their air groups exhausted are also due to come in for repairs due to the extended battle. They consider having the submarine force come to their assistance due to their state being undamaged and ready for another attack after their patrol in the Scarlet Shogunate's waters. Plus, many are worried about what will happen to the Chesapeake and North Dakota that are still trapped in Pearl Harbor. Commanders are worried about the ships possibly being captured and catered around as a war trophy for Dragomerian propaganda. If capture is imminent, they are to be scuttled at all costs. If they can, they are to escape as they are in no condition to keep fighting. Meanwhile, Army and Marine commanders are considering sending more troops to Hawaii to aid in it's defense.

San Diego, Ascoobis

The sudden burst of fire forced the team to scramble behind cover and engage in a lengthy firefight with the Scarlet agents. Five were engaging while the leader was forming a strategy to defeat the enemy. Roughly a minute later he ordered three of the soldiers to offer extensive, heavy oppressive fire while he and the two remaining soldiers advance forward, overrun enemy cover, and incapacitate the enemy soldiers at close-range; who are expected to be behind cover throughout the operation. The plan was put into action.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

On the High Seas

The six Oblivion-Class battleships took heavy fire from the Yamatos, but refused to break formation. While many of the shot from the Yamatos did not penetrate the Oblivion's armor; for now. Some actually missed due to the speed at which they were moving, faster then the Yamtos can move their bulkier guns. Firing with their 38 cm and 15 cm guns, the Oblivions were expecting their numerical superiority, higher rate of fire from their primary and secondary guns, and their overall greater muzzle velocities to make all of the difference in this battle against the three Yamatos.

Being pursued by the enemy submarines, the 10 Ascoobian Subs called on the 4 remaining submarines for reinforcements to attack their pursuers. They continued toward their objective. Determined to reach their targets before the Dragomerians caught up.

Failing to punch through the Yamato's thick side armor, the destroyer aimed for the guns that were currently raining hell on the smaller craft. Shots made their way through the ship's armor and were disabling many systems. Including two boilers and one gun. Fires on the ship have yet to reach the fuel and magazine compartments.

In the Air

The battle in the air was fierce. The 73 remaining Bf 109Es still are taking a stand against the Zeros. Firing off with their heavier weaponry, but losing 21 of their number with the launch of a second wave by Dragomeria. The 71 He 100s weave their way through the battle, wreaking havoc among the Dragomerian ranks, but losing 12 fighters as of far. Fighter from both continue to harass the bombing aircraft managing to shoot down several and causing many to miss their targets as they attempt to evade the fighters. These maneuvers end as they break away to engage the second wave of Dragomerian planes.

The Ascoobian Carriers saw it fit to follow in the Dragomerian's lead and launch a second wave of 100 fighter aircraft, with the same configuration as the one before it. 20 planes launch from each carrier to reinforce the first wave against the Dragomerians.

The Dragomerian fire had a deadly effect on the bomber formation. 15 Ju 87s were lost, but both variants of the Bf 110 held firm under the heavy fire. The injured formation continued on their way towards the three. The 230 kg bombs of the more precise Ju 87s were aimed at the bridges of the aircraft carriers, while the Bf 110s bombs were aimed towards the flight decks. Once they dropped their payloads, they proceeded to return to their respective island positions to be rearmed and refueled. However losing a Bf 110 Bomber in the process.

On Land

The intensity of the Dragomerian aerial bombardment was lessened by the intervention of Ascoobian Fighters. However, the Naval bombardment was taking its toll. Pearl Harbor itself is in the midst of being fully evacuated. With only land mines and other various traps and obstacles being laid. Fire fighting efforts were being focused on the forests themselves, as Dragomerian fire had started small fires in the area. Which could threaten Ascoobian efforts.

Decagon, Ascoobis

The reports of several dozen Scarlet Agents turning themselves into authorities throughout the city brings a much-needed morale boost to the city police force. The suspects are currently being held in isolation in various jails while investigators analyze hundreds of documents found in the possession of these agents. In order to find out the extent of this spy network. Plans are underway to recruit some of these as double agents.

Darkmount, Ascoobis

Several interesting objects arrived in the Emperor's mail today, as wartime policy only allows mail to be delivered once a week. They were first checked for dangerous objects or chemicals before being sent to the Emperor by his guard. First to arrive on his desk was a Scarlet Letter(OOC: Anyone get the pun? ;P) from their Queen. An apology of sorts and a promise to rope in her government. Of course not believing that she had nothing to do with the attempt, Emperor Jimenez wrote back; entertaining the notion that what she wrote was true. He wrote her a letter which requests that she quicken her efforts to regain control of her government. Hinting that such an act would be impossible to do so as long as it was under the shadow of the ICPS. Claiming that the only way to do so would be to follow Versail's example.

The second came from Dragomeria. The first thing that caught his eye was the large painting. One depicting the defeat of a multitude of Ascoobian battleships to one Dragomerian ship. The Emperor studied its details before commenting to the other man present. "Outside of the rather clear message, it is a beautiful painting. Of course, the Oblivion Battleships aren't very detailed with the lack of Dragomerian intelligence on them, while the Yamato clearly is. I almost didn't recognize them. Of course the Yamato looks great. Paul, could you find a place to hang this up in the Palace. Also, call those naval experts in Vos and have them get someone to come and look at this. It may be the closest thing we have to a real Yamato. It may or may not be an educational experience for them, but I think it's worth a shot."

He opened the first letter. Which contained a newspaper clipping with two people who he assumed were once enemies shaking hands. After fifteen minutes of using a Dragomerian dictionary in his library to decipher the writing on the clipping. Discovering that it was a Dragomerian military commander an a Filipino native shaking hands after the "liberation" of the Philippines. He chose to simply place it down. Rather trusting his allies in the Washintonian OSS then anything that the Dragomerians will tell him. Nonetheless. He made a mental note to ask the FEA to find the source of these images and Washinton for updates on the ground in the Philippines.

When the guard finally left, he opened the second letter, another wishing his recovery from his injuries. This time from the Dragomerian Emperor. The Emperor commented to himself; "For people who don't want me dead," He looked to the Scarlet Letter, the beautiful but inaccurate painting, and to the wheels of the chair he was currently sitting in before continuing. "they sure have a funny way of showing it. At least the money is good. I guess that's one million that won't eventually be going towards one of their battleships.".

Panama Canal, American Empire

The 5th Fleet has left its post in the Atlantic. With the emerging battles in the Pacific, the time has come to send every available ship into this war. The 5th Fleet is currently negotiating the rather narrow Canal is to be positioned at a naval base in the Galapagos Islands. Meanwhile, the 1st Reserve Fleet is on its way to a naval outpost on Socorro Island. Having been brought back to operational status a month ago.

OOC: The Oblvions' guns were firing?....Also, I'm using the numbers on your factbook to determine the size of your invasion fleet(Plus the Juggernaut). Are these accurate? From looking at your factbooks, none of your submarines can dive below 100 meters. While my post has mine at 200.

The Imperial Battleships (the Yamato-class battleships') guns were firing. I have not updated the numbers in that factbook, but assume that in this battle, there are 8 battleships, all belonging to the Yamato-class (that is how I pictured the battle) with 3 carriers, 10 cruisers, 12 destroyers, and 12 A-1 class Submarines. I just updated my naval ship factbook with updated figures for submarines. I will post ICly later tonight.

Midway

The Zeros continued their interference against the enemy bomber runs, seeking to keep them busy trying to avoid the Zeros. The Zeros were ganging up on the enemy aircraft, as the Zeros were in greater numbers. While one group of Zeros were fighting around near the fleet, the second group of Zeros were engaging the bombers that failed at finding the carrier.

With the enemy ships out of range, the fleet decided to fire at the island until the operation was completed. The guns of each battleship then started fire rounds onto the island of Midway, aiming at the runway and base infrastructure. Some fired at the enemy coastal defenses. To give a surprise to the enemy, submarines were laying mines in the waters off of the island.

North Amwell

The Imperial aircraft continued their attack. The Zeros fighting the P-40's took advantage of being behind the P-40's and fired heavily at them. The Zeros fighting the interceptors were not deterred by the enemy interceptors' attempts at dodging. They were gaining on the interceptors and used their maneuverability to compensate for the dodging partaken by the interceptors. Due to the enemy interceptors having to deal with the Zeros, their initial attempts to fire at the bombers failed.

Meanwhile, Force B prepared for the fight that it was planning against the nearby enemy forces.

Hawaii

The Yamato-class ships against the Oblivion-class ships were engaging the enemy ships. The Yamato-class ships were firing their shells at three rounds per minute, having now activated their mechanical self-loading mechanism. The guns were able to catch up with the enemy ships, partially due to the electrical-mechanical system involved, and the fact that the enemy ships were still a distance away from the Imperial Battleships. The Yamatos continued to fire heavily at the Oblivion-class battleships with AP rounds, being careful to aim ahead of the enemy ships to account for their speed.

The A-1 submarines were quickly catching up to the enemy submarines. Once in range, they fired torpedoes at the enemy submarines. Four additional enemy submarines were detected by SONAR, so four destroyers started hunting those submarines and started using anti-submarine weapons.

In/near Pearl Harbor, the Yamato continued to fire at the Washintonian ships and the Ascooban destroyer. The shells from the Ascooban destroyer hit the armor around the secondary guns, but otherwise causing little damage due to the armor thickness.

In the air, the Zeros continued to fight the enemy fighters. The Heavy Bombers continued their runs, but would soon need to resupply their ammo. Some Zeros started engaging the enemy aircraft coming back from the enemy's run against the carriers. The carriers were relatively lucky in that their maneuvering caused many of the bombs from hitting the bridges of the ships; however, the large decks were not so lucky, having sustained damage to the decks. Deck crews then worked quickly to do quick repairs and patches to the deck.

The Juggernaut was continuing to fire at Pearl Harbor, but one turret set its sights on the forested areas around Pearl Harbor, and started firing high-explosive rounds. This was in the hope of cutting off escape routes from the area being targeted.

OOC: It is an understandable error, but my turrets on the Yamato have better fire-control systems than in RL, so that do fire more rounds per minute than in RL and do turn faster than in RL (though if the electo-mechanical equipment is damaged, the turrets would be unable to function).

OOC: By the way, I love how the Zeroes are being portrayed as practically being unbeatable.
Midway Island Naval Air Station

With the return of the bombardment, the defenders of Midway are forced to take cover and endure the withering barrage. The shore batteries of the Army Coastal Artillery Corp fire at the encircling enemy warships. Since they came back into range ever since fighting the surface fleet, the 16'/45 caliber guns begin their firing again at the larger battleships with armor piercing rounds. The smaller batteries open up on the smaller warships that are around them.

Meanwhile, with the first wave of bombers hightailing a retreat after releasing their payloads, the second wave begins it's attack. Holding formation as long as possible, the torpedo planes attack the Fuso-class battleships while the dive bombers go for the Kongo-class. The escorting fighters are ordered to attack the Zeroes that are going for the bombers.

North Amwell

The interceptors are forced to temporarily break off into a dive to break the zeroes off their tail. After their zoom climb they continue their attack to go after the bombers to ensure they do not return home. The P-40s all the while attempt to dive to shake them off their tail as well.

Scouts from the 31st Reconnaissance Squadron of the 8th Infantry Division arrive near a small road junction near Kuskokuak Slough, North Amwell. Their M3 Light tanks get bogged down in the very loose and wet terrain and are forced onto the roads. Infantry scouts press forward to set up a small listening post to watch for the advancement of the Dragomerian troops. Back at Aniak, the 8th sets up more defenses for the upcoming attack. More anti-tank guns, artillery, and entrenched infantry positions are put in place. The tanks from the 2nd Armored are still on the way.

Bremerton Naval Station, Washington

Admiral Fowler orders a group of six submarines to travel to Hawaii to assist in the fight against the Dragomerian invasion of the islands. They are to target troop transport ships, oilers, and any capital ship of opportunity. It is hoped that they will be able to help lift the siege and keep the Hawaiian islands under the ATCO control. Meanwhile, dry-docks prepare to receive the battleships ROWS Washington (BB-28) and ROWS St. George after their extensive damage. The battleships ROWS Wyoming (BB-21) and ROWS Aurora (BB-16) are due to come in to get a full modernization. It will include new fire control radar, the replacement of all their older 5'/51 caliber guns for duel purpose 5'/38 caliber guns, new super structures, more armor, improved propulsion, and much more light and medium AA guns.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

The Marines begin to shelter the civilians due to the extensive forest fires that were started by the Dragomerian attack. The take cover in bunkers, trenches, and foxholes as the attack continues and the ground forces await the invasion force.

The Chesapeake and North Dakota continue to fire their main armament at the Dragomerian vessels outside of the harbor entrance. The captains ponder the idea of trying to run the blockade and break out into the open Pacific Ocean. However, until the Dragomerian battleships are dealt with, it would be nearly impossible.

OOC: Not at all, you just keep ignoring them for some reason.

Midway

The ships of the Imperial fleet continued to fire at the enemy's island. When enemy shells landed in the water 1,00 meters away from them, it became clear that the enemy was trying to fire at the fleet, but forgot their own weapon's range.

In the air, the Zeros continued to distract the enemy bombers and keep them from engaging the fleet. When some enemy fighters pealed away from their current combat to protect the bombers, the Zeros that were fighting them continued pursuing and firing at the enemy fighters.

North Amwell

The Zeros successfully pursue the enemy interceptors, not deterred by the enemy's attempt to break away from them. The fighters continue their combat to take the enemy's attention away from the bombers. The Zeros fighting the P-40s also were not deterred by the P-40's attempts to get away from the Zeros. The Zeros in the air were becoming even more persistent against the enemy aircraft.

Meanwhile, the runways were completed and set up at Bethel. Transport aircraft came in giving Force B more supplies and weapons.

As Bethel was secured and prepared, a number of soldiers were landing and attacking town on/near the Western Coastline in areas between Imperial-occupied territory and the Upper Yukon Delta.

Hawaii

The Yamato-class ships at Pearl Harbor's entrance continued their assault while under fire from the enemy ships. Many 460 mm Armor Penetrating rounds were fired in extremely rapid succession (firing a total of 27 rounds at a time at very high RPMs) towards the two Washintonian ships.

Midway Island Naval Air Station

With their bombing runs complete (what is the damage), the last of the bombers and fighters peel off to head back to their carriers. From their the carriers are to collect their air group and come to the assistance of the Hawaiian Islands. A total of 12 SBD Dauntless Dive bombers, 10 Devastator Torpedo bombers, and seven Wildcat fighters were lost in the raids over the enemy fleet. The air groups still have enough to continue their operations, by Hawaii is still in dire need of help.

Midway still continues to suffer the withering fire, however, due to the enemy battleships firing at their maximum effective range, few things of vital importance are hit. For them to have any chance of hitting the runways and hangers they would need to close within range of the 16'/45 caliber shore guns.

North Amwell
(Shall we just go with the result I posted earlier just to end this air battle?)

Air reconnaissance is able to identify that Dragomerian forces have completed an airfield near Bethel, North Amwell. Since it is able to ferry in supplies to the Dragomerian forces stationed there, 1st Air Force command makes it a priory one target. The 48th and 53rd Medium Bomb groups assemble 96 B-25B and C bombers for a mission to destroy the airfield and shorten the amount of supplies arriving to their front line troops. They are to be escorted by 72 P-40 Warhawk fighters of the 15th and 33rd Fighter groups to enure that they make it to the target. On the way back, they will link up with an additional 24 fighters to replenish the escorting fighters.

All of the 17 M3 light tanks proceed to a river, where they sight so Dragomerian troops in a treeline. They fire on the troops dug in their with their 37mm cannons and .30 caliber machine guns. A few escorting reconnaissance troops fire at they with their small arms from a road adjacent to the treeline.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

The Chesapeake and the North Dakota are now the prime targets of the Dragomerian ships now outside of the harbor. The 18.1' shells streak towards them as they splash around them and occasionally into them. However, at 10:45 AM, one 18.1' round slams into the forward deck of the North Dakota, striking a magazine for the 14'/50 caliber main guns. The resulting explosion proceeds to buckle the ship nearly in half at the keel. Her forward turrets are nearly are nearly lifted off their rings and she begins to sink into the shallow waters of Pearl Harbor. 1,063 sailors and Marines are killed as a result. The thick and oily smoke obscures the Chesapeake, allowing her to pick up any of the survivors from the stricken North Dakota.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

On the High Seas

With the enemy's assault improving in accuracy and rather dramatically in fire rate, Cpt. Tomas Vasquez hoped that the effects of increasing and decreasing their speed at random intervals may serve to confuse the enemy for sometime. the gun rotations were altered to reflect these changes. The Ascoobian gun bombardment continued. With a clear goal to disable the enemy's guns my direct or indirect fire. A dead ship in the water would be easier to destroy then a long-drawn out battle with a desperate ship with larger guns. One of the battleships took a damaging penetration near the top of the prow, but failed to breach the double hull. Disabling several torpedo tubes and killing several aboard. The other ships, or at least those directly facing the Yamatos saw fit to fire several of their broadside torpedoes at the enemy. Taking into account their movements.

OOC: It looks like this is ending up like the Battle of Hampton Roads... o_O

The submarines, rather then continue to ward their targets, they dove further to 215 meters to evade. The 4 reinforcement submarines fired on the enemies' rear before diving to the same depth as well and proceeded to regroup with the original party. Looking to push their won limits and those of the enemy.

The destroyer was at a loss. It's fire seemed to have little effect on the ship's armor. However, the ship's gun is not a "pellet gun" and is expected to cause some casualties as it continues firing. Soon a lucky shot from the enemy penetrated the deck armor and exploded in the magazine compartment. The commanding officer hoped that several Dragomerians were killed before the destruction of his ship. The ship buckled before its twisted wreck hit and settled at the bottom of the Harbor. Survivors used the smokescreen provided by the Washintonian battleship and the wreck of the Destroyer to make their way either to Ford Island or to the WS Chesapeake.

In the Air

As the second wave of aircraft, or Wave B, arrived, the first wave, Wave A, fell back towards the carriers to refuel missing . Beforehand, Wave C was mobilized in the air around the Carriers if the enemy attempts to attack while Wave A is refueling. Afterwards, once the danger has passed, Wave C will join what's left of Wave A in reinforcing Wave B and what's left of the Island's own fighters. So far recent losses are at 20 He 100s and 25 Bf 109Es. A small number compared to what damage the enemy must have been dealt as of far.

On the Land

With the enemy bombardment increasing, much of the lower elevations of islands have been evacuated. Leaving only ruins and an assortment of death traps for the Dragomerians to find. Several Coastal defense and AA installation have as of far been a secondary target for enemy naval bombardment and have been spared by enemy aerial attack. For now, they remain dormant. In an attempt to appear abandoned until the smaller enemy ships come into range. However, a change of orders from Admiral Nimitz have change the directive of the larger 150mm Howitzer guns. They are now ordered to fire upon the Yamatos currently near the Harbor, following the destruction of the Washintonian battleship.

So far, fires caused by the enemy shells have been fairly simple to put out and have not severely threatened major installations. Several soldiers and even volunteer civilians have been injured in the firefighting effort so far. The fallen trees have even helped in the formation of additional barricades and emergency building support.

Midway

The enemy bombers missed their targets due to being harassed by the Zeros. Over the fight over the imperial fleet, seven Zeros were lost in the last part of the battle.

The fleet soon stopped firing at the island and started heading to the Southeast in respect to the island. The Imperial aircraft also made it back to the carriers. It lead those at Midway to wonder why the fleet was heading in that direction (roughly the direction towards Hawaii).

North Amwell

(ooc: what result are you referring to?)

Little did the Washintonian military realize that a large number of Zeros were brought in to patrol the area while Force B was being resupplied. Due to some concerns, the Zeros were modified with Armor penetrating rounds to penetrate the armor of enemy aircraft.

(ooc: I am confused. Where are these tanks?)

Hawaii

Pearl Harbor
While watching for signs of the enemy leaving the thick smoke, the Yamato's continued to fire their armor penetrating rounds into the smoke, knowing that as long as the enemy remained in the smoke, neither the Imperial Battleships, nor the Washintonian battleships could see where the other was.

Admiral Yamato saw that the enemy was now firing their land-based 150 mm Howitzers at them. He then ordered all the 150 mm guns (36 total) and 127 mm guns (72 total) on the three Yamato-class battleships to fire at the enemy artillery.

In the Ocean

Seeing the enemy try to throw of the guns of their ships, the Yamato-class battleships aimed closer to the enemy ships, as to account for the changing speeds of the ships. The larger guns and heavier armor on the Yamato-class Battleships allowed the ships to withstand the enemy fire and return fire. The Armor penetrating rounds were used against the Ascooban battleships and put the enemy under withering fire due to the high reload rate granted by the mechanical systems. The lookouts saw that several Ascooban battleships launched their torpedoes. Reacting to the signing of the torpedoes, the Yamato-class ships slowed down and the torpedoes barely missed, passing the bows of the ships. The enemy's attempts at disabling the guns have been so far fruitless.

(ooc: perhaps, the six sink at the cost of a Yamato?)

The A-1's caught the enemy submarines behind them on SONAR, so they dived to 215 meters slowly to miss the enemy's oncoming torpedoes and to get behind the four new arrivals. Once behind them, the A-1's continued to fire torpedoes at the enemy submarines. The A-1 Submarines continued to pursue the enemy.

In the Air

The temporary repairs on the carriers were completed. many of the heavy bombers took this time to get resupplied and head back to continue performing runs against enemy military infrastructure. The targets included Hawaiian runways and naval facilities, as well as army fortifications. The Empire had lost twenty Zeros and no bombers were lost. Secretly, the aircraft carriers moved their positions to prevent being subject to another enemy bombing run.

OOC: Oh I love how those Zeroes around Force B are brought up have armor piercing rounds. It's lovely that your aircraft have a magical armor plating system that is both strong and ultra light that gives it the same maneuverability....... Plus I love how over Midway they don't score a single hit, what a lovely way to RP.

The tanks are in Kuskokuak Slough, North Amwell in case you are wondering.

Midway Island Naval Air Station

After the attack is over, Midway still has one operational airstrip. Some of the hangers are destroyed ad some of the parked bombers were lost in the attack. 172 men were killed or wounded as a result. The still operational runway still has some shells holes to be fixed, but they can still operate some.

To the north, the battered task force limps back to Bremerton and will rearm to fight the Dragomerian fleet again.

North Amwell

Taking off from airfields in central North Amwell, the B-25s take off for their mission to bomb the airfield near Bethell, North Amwell. Equipped with the new Norden bombsight and with well trained bombardiers, they climb to 18,000 ft and will cruise all the way to the target in a tight formation. The fighters fly higher overhead at 22,000 ft to have the altitude advantage on any patrolling fighters.

Meanwhile below, the tanks from the 38th Armored regiment, 2nd Armored division reach the 8th Infantry's positions at Aniak. A column of five M4 and M4A1 Shermans leave to assist the light tanks of the 31st Reconnaissance Squadron.

Hawaii, Ascoobis

The ROWS Chesapeake (BB-25) takes position in the smoke to stay hidden from the enemy gunners. With the screen, they avoid any further damage from the Dragomerian battleships. They plan to make a break for the open water when the next wave of Ascoobian ships leave to fight the Dragomerian fleet.

Bremerton Naval Station, Washington

Admiral Fowler requests the transfer of the ROWS Alberta (BB-30) as soon as it can be spared. The ROWS Idaho (BB-31) and the ROWS New Ireland (BB-32) will be ordered soon after they complete their test trials and are considered fit for active service. The remaining carriers from the Atlantic are also being ordered to the Pacific as soon as they can be spared due to the need in the Pacific. The ROWS Hudson City Bay (CV-4), ROWS Forester (CV-6) and ROWS Superior (CV-9) are to transfer to the Pacific as soon as possible. Superior is due to arrive in the Pacific by July 25th, 1940, the Hudson city Bay by August 12th, 1940, and the Forester by September 2nd, 1940. More light ships are also to head over as well, mostly destroyers.

OOC: I just love how you ignored the fact that a large number of Zeros were in direct combat with those bombers. Realistically, they would not have been able to drop their payloads due to either having to abort due to enemy fire or them becoming easy prey due to ignoring the enemy aircraft directly firing at them.

North Amwell

A patrolling Zero noticed the incoming aircraft below it, as it flew at 10,000 meters in altitude. It then radioed the nearby aircraft. After a few minutes, Zeros came in, flying at 10,000 meters. They them started diving towards the enemy aircraft. Some of the Zeros engaged the fighters, while others went right for the enemy bombers. The Zeros were a part of the Forth Air Fleet, an Air Fleet of pilots experienced in arctic air combat. While most were fighting up north, 200 fighters and 50 bombers were allocated to the command at Bethel. The fighters were going to fiercely defend Bethel.

Force C

Force C, consisting of many tanks, artillery and soldiers was given the mission to cross into North Amwell via the islands connecting Kamchatka to the North Amwellian mainland. They now started their crossing, which involved island hoping and taking those North Amwellain islands as they headed towards the mainland.

(Umm just a reminder, it's July in the RP, it's not quite Arctic conditions yet.)
North Amwell

With the arrival of the Zeroes, The escorting P-40s break ranks and begin to engage the Zeroes. By this point, the Washingtonian pilots came up with a method to destroy the Zero. Using a weaving maneuver, an element leader would acquire a Zero on his tale and use the armor of his plane to soak up the fire. The wingman would then come in behind the Zero and get the killing shot. This tactic seemed to get the attention of more than a handful of of the Zero pilots. The bombers therefore would face fewer fighters as they closed in on the target. As they descended onto the bombers, they closed their formation to create a wall of fire from the gunners. Being close together and forming a more solid wall of fire, they could prevent the Zeroes from diving through the ranks of the bombers and save more of them.

On the ground, the 31st Reconnaissance troops keep the fire up on the Dragomerian troops in the treeline. Four tanks are sent further down the road to scout for more enemy forces on the way to Bethel. The five Shermans arrive to the location of the 31st's location and will engage targets soon as the light tanks spot more trouble.

The Zeros split up into two groups, those facing the fighters and those facing the bombers directly. The fighters going against the bombers dived right towards the enemy, their Armor piercing rounds being fired into the group of bombers. The Zeros against the enemy fighters saw through the enemy strategy when the enemy' first attempt was made, due to each Zero attacking a different enemy fighter and noticing the enemy's attempt. Thankfully, the fact that each enemy fighter was covered by at least one Zero prevented the enemy fighters from enacting their strategy. Each Zero engaging the enemy fighters were firing armor piercing rounds.

(ooc: I do not have any troops in that area. They are in Bethel.)

(OOC: You realize there are 72 fighters covering my bombers, how many do you have? As for the ground forces, you are saying you have no advanced scouts, listening posts, or forward observer posts?)

(OOC: So more of the spamming of planes........... All 200 with nothing left in reserve..................

As for the ground forces, that would leave you wide open to infiltration and uncertainty.)

How exactly does that leave me open to uncertainty?
