In the thinner air at around 25,000 ft, it's non-forced induction engine made little power to combat other fighters very effectively. And why would they be up thereat that altitude already? Even for late war aircraft, it took time to get to that altitude. As for the boom-and-zoom attacks from my fighters, it is not a matter of service ceiling as it is speed. The Warhawk and other fighters like it could dive down on their target due to their air frame toughness and have enough energy to zoom climb afterwords. The Zeroes would not have enough energy to catch them in a dive due to the weak air frame of the Zero.

The P-40's and F4F-3s's .50 caliber guns tend to penetrate the relatively thin skin of the G3M bombers. The close contact though would put them at risk of attacks from behind by the A6M2s. With orders issued to avoid dog-fighting as little as possible, they continue to try boom-and-zoom tactics. However, several fighters have been lost to the Zeroes.
Midway Island Naval Air Station
The batteries of the island continue to fire at the enemy vessels with armor piercing ammunition. The lighter 5-in/51 caliber guns are ordered to target destroyers, the larger 8-in/45 caliber guns to target the cruisers, and the 16-in/45 caliber guns the battleships. The 16-in/45 caliber gun on the western edge of the Atoll fires at the Yamato-class heading off to engage the Washingtonian battleships.
The Washingtonian battleship squadron takes a turn to starboard, bringing all their guns to bear in a standard battle line. Joined by the cruisers ROWS St. Louis (CA-43) and ROWS St. Paul (CA-34), they bring all their guns to bear and fire on the Dragomerian battleships. A destroyer squadron is kept behind them to be used for torpedo runs after the Washingtonian battleships soften up the enemy battleships. ROWS Washington (BB-28) fires first, followed by the ROWS St. George (BB-27) with their 16-in guns, then the ROWS Wyoming (BB-21) with the ROWS Aurora (BB-16) and their 14-in guns. All fire armor piercing ammunition. Washington specifically fires at the Yamato-class battleship.
Skies above North Amwell, June, 1940
Several B-17s are lost as a result of the Zeroes attacking the formation, mostly at the edges of the formation. The bombers close even tighter to avoid the high speed attacks. The P-40 fighters do what they can, often involved in chases they involve seven aircraft. Several P-40s are lost as a result while trying to keep the fighters away from the bombers. The downed airmen manage to mostly parachute down. The raid still presses on towards it's target.

I assume this is because in 1940 you did not have high altitude interceptors? As for the 16-in guns, that was really just to keep them out of range. They would later target the smaller ships.

The Scarletean Fleet begins Bombardment of the Southern isles, and Three Bomber Squadrons perform their bombing runs. Their targets are Military Installations such as AA/AT Guns, Coastal Guns, and the Barracks.
Meanwhile, the Invasion force goes through one last check of weaponry before setting off for the Isles.
SED Assassinations #1: Starting Small
The SED plan to work their way up through political/military ranks so their mission would start off easier.
In Detroit, Seattle, and Darkmount, Snipers will be deployed to gun down local politcal figures such as Mayors and Business Executives.
In Portland, a group of ladies hired by the SED shall set out and seduce political and military figures, coating their lips with poison or slipping arsenic in their meals.
(OOC: If any ATCO members want to rp the assassinations/assassination attempts by the SED, go ahead. It makes it easier for me.)

Mr. Mitchell takes a sip of water and asks if he can get any ice in it. The engineer with him finishes his and gets ready to pay.

The 2nd Field Army is now fully under way to North Amwell. Washington Army Staff now prepare the next field armies foe deployment as the war escalates. New recruits and supplies pour in from the east as Washington prepares to send it's boys to war. Still, commanders feel they won't be able to raise enough divisions to fight in North Amwell and still defend the homefront.
Bremerton Naval Station, Washington
Admiral Fowler sees the arrival of more ships from the Atlantic fleets as the war at sea is estimated to cost more ships than originally thought. Aircraft carriers are high on his list, followed by the destroyers to protect them. Some are also trying to get their new battleships built to counter the Dragomerian battleships that have some worried. While many of them are of older designs that refitted Washingtonian dreadnoughts and the new fast battleships can handle, the newer Yamato-class and Super Yamato-class has some worried. The Juggernauts are also an ever present nightmare for the Navy. The JPACC committee starts to draw plans on how to deal with these Juggernauts.

Set up in a window, the Sniper looked overhead with his binoculars. As the Emperor arrived, he'd unpack his sniper rifle from the guitar case cover and load it with ammunition. As soon as he did his objective, he'd pack up and start making his way down to his escape vehicle...

The Wildcat and Warhawk fighters, forced to break off from the bombers, attempt a high speed dive to get away from the zeroes and zoom climb to altitude to break the bandits from their tails.
At Sea, Admiral Cunningham orders the vessels to make a seventy degree turn to Port to angle their side armor to the Dragomerian shells. This would angle the hull armor to increase it's protection while still being able to bring all it's guns to bear on the enemy fleet. The Washington benefits from it's advanced fire control and radar directed guns continues to target the Yamato-class battleships with AP shells. From the smoke screen, the destroyer squadron fires it's volley of torpedoes towards the enemy battleships. As this occurs, the Washingtonians see the incoming Dragomerian destroyers headed in for their own attack run. Cruisers ROWS St. Louis (CA-43) and ROWS St. Paul (CA-34) target the Dragomerian destroyers with their 8-in/55 caliber main guns and secondary 5-in guns.

The bombers of the 19th release their payload on the Dragomerian supply depot that was 100 miles east of Nome. After dropping their bombs, they set a course for home. Out of the 72 B-17s sent up, ten were lost. Of the 36 Warhawks, 11 were lost. Despite this, the arrival of more Washingtonian planes in North Amwell convinces command to continue with bombing raids targeting airfields supply depots, and railways station.

OOC: Question.....So, a 100 fighters, constantly firing at 72 bombers and only 10 bombers are lost? How exactly does that work out? B-17's statistically required escorts for protection.
Also, how did I get to the river? North Amwell said that the line of defense was 100 miles from the shore. I am sure that The river is more than 100 miles from the invaded shore line. We may need to wait for North Amwell on this.

OOC: Okay seriously, 100 Zeroes against 72 B-17s? Are you trying to just spam out these numbers so it's guaranteed that I lose every time? Seriously, even the Luftwaffe could not match the U.S 8th Air Force's number of bombers in the air. Is this an error in our RP or do you expect a high attrition rate for your Zeroes against B-17s? The losses for B-17s was due to the fact that they could not get fighter escort until later in the war, and two, the aircraft they were flying against were the BF-109 and the FW-190. Zeroes fared much worse due to their lack or armor and self-sealing fuel tanks.
As for the river, we may need North Amwell to clear this up.
