OOC: Umm you realize that is a bit much to throw at one bomber formation? Plus, do you really have that many in North Amwell? And will this be a trend where you will just clam you will shoot down all my aircraft? And plus, the bombers were at 25,000 ft. While Japanese planes could reach this altitude, they were sluggish at it.

Skies above North Amwell, June, 1940

The B-17s of the 19th close their formation to prevent the Zeroes from diving in between them and separating the bombers. As the Zeroes close in, the gunners on the bombers fire their .50 caliber machine guns. The bombers themselves were able to soak up a considerable amount of damage. The fighters break off to fight the Zeroes that are diving on the bombers, getting on their tails to keep the bombers relatively safe.

Near Midway, May 18, 1940

The F4F-3s and P-40s that were not busy trying to fight the enemy Zeroes, were tailing the bombers, and picking them apart due to their light armor. The fighters that were engaging the Zeroes try to use their speed advantage to try and hit and run against the Zeroes. They dive, fire a burst, and then zoom-climb to altitude to go for another pass.

When the enemy fleet appeared on the Horizon, the 16-in/45 caliber coastal guns that were installed opened up on the heaviest battleships using armor piercing ammunition. As they drew closer, the smaller guns would open up. The cruisers and destroyers around the island form defensive ring around the island outside the minefield as they add to the island's firepower. As the battleships draw nearer, out of a small patch of mist, comes the battleship squadron with ROWS Washington (BB-28), ROWS St. George (BB-27), ROWS Wyoming (BB-21), and ROWS Aurora (B-16) show up, firing their main armament at the Dragomerian battleships. The smaller ruisers and destroyers screen them from smaller vessels.

OOC: not for the number of bombers you presented. Not at all. It is considered bad form to RP other's losses, which only you have been doing so far. According to the specs of the Zero, it rises quite quickly (I have not looked much at your stats to compare accent speed though. I did specify that the Zeros were already at that altitude.

Midway, Pacific Ocean, March 18, 1940

The enemy aircraft were firing at the G3M bombers, but lacked progress due to the armor on the G3M. Some of the Zeros engaging the fighters went to engage the enemy fighters that were going against the G3M bombers. In the fight between imperial and enemy fighter aircraft, the Zeros devised a strategy to pick off the enemy fighters. That strategy called for diving at high speeds afterthe enmy fighters on their way down, then following them until the maximum altitude for the Zeros, and the strategy would repeat for every run the enemy makes. Against the P-40's, the Zeros would be able to follow all the way through due to their flight ceiling being significantly lower than that of the Zero (they have 8,000 meters, while the Zero has 10,000 meters).

The Imperial Fleet advanced towards the island, but stopped at about 40,000 meters out, allowing the larger imperial battleships to fire at the island. The smaller battleships set up another line of fire at about 30,000 meters out from the island. The cruisers and destroyers kept back until until the range of the enemy batteries could be determined. After being fired at and returning fire, the smaller battleships returned to the fleet, sustaining some damage. Using the enemy's fire towards the battleships, it was worked out that the range on the enemy coastal guns were about 36-37,000 meters.

When the enemy battleships arrived, the Yamato-class battleship in the fleet advanced towards them, and behind the Yamato-class, the other imperial battleships followed in a diamond configuration. The battleships made sure to stay outside of the 37,000 meter range of the shoreline. The Yamato-class itself had its front main armaments aimed at two different enemy battleships.

Above North Amwell, June 1940

As the enemy aircraft turned to aid their bombers, the hundred Zeros that were after the fighters started taking the enemy's distraction to their advantage, as they advanced on the enemy fighters. The fighters engaged against the enemy bombers continued their engagement against the bombers at high speeds.

Pacific Island Command, Guam, The Pacific Ocean, March 18, 1940

OOC: The climb rate of the Zero was spectacular, but that was mostly at the low to mid level altitudes it was expected to operate that. In the thinner air at around 25,000 ft, it's non-forced induction engine made little power to combat other fighters very effectively. And why would they be up thereat that altitude already? Even for late war aircraft, it took time to get to that altitude. As for the boom-and-zoom attacks from my fighters, it is not a matter of service ceiling as it is speed. The Warhawk and other fighters like it could dive down on their target due to their air frame toughness and have enough energy to zoom climb afterwords. The Zeroes would not have enough energy to catch them in a dive due to the weak air frame of the Zero.

Over Midway Island Naval Air Station

The P-40's and F4F-3s's .50 caliber guns tend to penetrate the relatively thin skin of the G3M bombers. The close contact though would put them at risk of attacks from behind by the A6M2s. With orders issued to avoid dog-fighting as little as possible, they continue to try boom-and-zoom tactics. However, several fighters have been lost to the Zeroes.

Midway Island Naval Air Station

The batteries of the island continue to fire at the enemy vessels with armor piercing ammunition. The lighter 5-in/51 caliber guns are ordered to target destroyers, the larger 8-in/45 caliber guns to target the cruisers, and the 16-in/45 caliber guns the battleships. The 16-in/45 caliber gun on the western edge of the Atoll fires at the Yamato-class heading off to engage the Washingtonian battleships.

The Washingtonian battleship squadron takes a turn to starboard, bringing all their guns to bear in a standard battle line. Joined by the cruisers ROWS St. Louis (CA-43) and ROWS St. Paul (CA-34), they bring all their guns to bear and fire on the Dragomerian battleships. A destroyer squadron is kept behind them to be used for torpedo runs after the Washingtonian battleships soften up the enemy battleships. ROWS Washington (BB-28) fires first, followed by the ROWS St. George (BB-27) with their 16-in guns, then the ROWS Wyoming (BB-21) with the ROWS Aurora (BB-16) and their 14-in guns. All fire armor piercing ammunition. Washington specifically fires at the Yamato-class battleship.

Skies above North Amwell, June, 1940

Several B-17s are lost as a result of the Zeroes attacking the formation, mostly at the edges of the formation. The bombers close even tighter to avoid the high speed attacks. The P-40 fighters do what they can, often involved in chases they involve seven aircraft. Several P-40s are lost as a result while trying to keep the fighters away from the bombers. The downed airmen manage to mostly parachute down. The raid still presses on towards it's target.

http://www.nationstates.net/nation=drag ... /id=634602 has a list of warship specs for my military.
I would like to ask how a gun can hit a ship that is out of the gun's range? The 16" guns have the longest range, which I mentioned that my navy was staying away from.

To answer your question, they (the Zeros) were already at that altitude because that is the altitude they were patrolling at.

OOC: Seems odd that Zeroes would be operating at an altitude that they were not designed to operate. I assume this is because in 1940 you did not have high altitude interceptors? As for the 16-in guns, that was really just to keep them out of range. They would later target the smaller ships.

As for my aircraft:

OOC: No, Zero's flight ceiling was 10,000 meters in RL. In fact, every fighter aircraft built in the mid-to-late 1930's and on in RL Japan had a flight ceiling of no less than 10,000 meters, which does classify them (at least in that time period) as high-altitude interceptors. Just a heads up, The Yamato-class had guns with a range of 42 km. 16" guns have range of about 37 km. My Navy plans on hitting your naval fleet and my aircraft plan on hitting your island's facilities. I picture the battle consisting of a week of on and off naval and air engagements, that would eventually end in a retreat by my nation.

Thanks for those links.

Awaiting War Plan 001
The Forces in Brunei patiently wait for the 1st of May, in which they shall join the Dragomerian Invasion of the Philippines. They'd pass the time by doing soccer/football matches between army groups.

SED New Priority: Assassination
Since Sabotage is now too dangerous, Single Agents trained with Bolt-Action Snipers will now partake in assassinations in cooperation by other undercover agents, who have been trained to attempt to hide their accent, use powder to look White/Caucasian and speak English. Said undercover agents would attempt to poison their targets. All agents once on the run from the law must abandon their cell, burn as many files as they can and escape to remote safehouses. In a worst case scenario, the agent would kill themselves via Cyanide tablet. Their targets are High ranking Military and Political Figures in order to decrease troop morale in grief and strike fear into civilian's hearts, perhaps causing disapproval of the war within the ATCO.

Submarine Warfare
After encounters with Washingtonian Submarines, Convoys are on high alert and naval ships protecting merchant vessels are allowed to go as far and put themselves in the path of the torpedo if there is enough time.

Celebes Sea

The Washingtonian submarine force continues to step up it's game. It starts with more attacks in the dark, on mostly weakly protected convoys. One submarine surface briefly at night to fire it's deck gun at a target in Manado, Scarlet Shogunate. The submarines are trying to target troops transports, supply ships, and fuel tankers specifically to decrease the commerce between the Dragomerian Empire and the Scarlet Shogunate.

Near Nulato, Yukon River, North Amwell, June 5, 1940

The 1st Infantry Division arrives first at the river, followed by the 9th Cavalry arrived shortly afterwords. The 20th Reconnaissance Squadron of the 9th Cavalry, 1st battalion 10th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry division, and 17 M3 Lee tanks from the 2nd Armored Regiment of the 1st Armored Division cross the bridge to occupy a small town and a hill called Hill 79 next to it. The rest of the 1st Field Army spreads out along the river, with units in reserve and artillery pout into place. Many begin to set up anti-tank guns and machine gun nests on the east side of the river. A few forward observers from the 20th Reconnaissance Squadron call in some sporadic artillery fire on the vanguard of the advancing Dragomerian forces. They are the first to fire a shot in anger by Washingtonian Army Ground Forces.

Over Midway

The Zeros continue to pursue the enemy aircraft. The Zeros protecting the bombers. They decide to continue their pursuit of the enemy fighters by continuing to avoid the enemy aircraft on their diving towards them and then tailing them up to their maximum altitude. The counter seemed to work well against the enemy fighters, but only time would tell to see which had the better strategy.

Near Midway

The Imperial Fleet was in battle. The battleships were engaged against enemy battleships. The enemy coastal defenses were still firing at the fleet, despite being out of range. The Yamato-class fires its 450 mm main guns at both the ROWS Washington as well as the St. George using Armor Piercing rounds. The other Imperial Battleships fired their armor piercing rounds at the other enemy battleships.

Above North Amwell

The Zeros continue to attack the B-17's and enemy escorts. The Zeros going against the enemy fighters fight hard and long against the fighters to keep them occupied. The fighters directly attacking the B-17's continue their attack, using their momentum from their dive to get them back up to altitude, before aiming at the bombers in the middle of the B-17 group and diving towards the enemy once more.

Celebes Sea

The Empire just sent a Hunter Fleet, a naval fleet specifically designed and trained in anti-submarine warfare. This fleet was headed to the Celebes Sea to clear the area of enemy submarines, which have been recently plaguing that area. The fleet mostly consists of destroyers and submarines.

May Day Invasion of the Philippines

The Empire has finally begun the May 1st invasion on the Philippines. The Empire sent a large number of troops to eliminate opposition in the area. The invasion has begun.

OOC: Keep in mind the Zero was not good in the kind of energy attacks my fighters use. The airframe of the Zero was too weak to handle it. It was more of a maneuverability fighter.
Midway Island Naval Air Station

The Warhawk and Wildcat fighters are forced to break off from the bombers and defend themselves. Already, 12 fighters have been lost to the Zeroes. They try to have their armor help soak up their fire as they try and dive away to break them off. The AA defenses of Midway are put on alert to fire at the incoming G3M bombers.

Offshore, the battleship squadron takes on the withering fire from the Dragomerian fleet. Washington take a direct hit from an 18.1 in shell through the bow, passing clean through. Another hits a midships near the armor belt, causing some damage. The St. George takes one near the stern, just aft of turret 4, going straight through and into the ocean. One hits behind turret three, causing a huge explosion and knocking out power to some areas of the ship. They in turn fire at the Dragomerian fleet with their 16-in shells. The older Wyoming and Aurora take some hits from the older Dragomerian battleships, mostly to their armor belts and the super structures. They in turn also return fire. Admiral Cunningham, commanding the fleet, orders his destroyer squadron to deploy their smoke screens and move in for a torpedo attack.

Above North Amwell, June, 1940

The B-17s begin to close in on their target, getting ready to do so,they maneuver to get the four bomber elements in a line. The fighters try to keep them away by dragging them away from the bombers.

Celebes Sea

With the presence of the Dragomerian Hunter fleet, the Washingtonian submarines begin to target more ships near channels and closer to dusk. They also try and target vessels further out to sea and away from the main groups. One fires two torpedoes at a Scarlet Shogunate Navy Hanoi-class cruiser near Tawau. Afterwords they will wrap up their first patrol.

Plan 001 is Executed
The Scarletean Fleet begins Bombardment of the Southern isles, and Three Bomber Squadrons perform their bombing runs. Their targets are Military Installations such as AA/AT Guns, Coastal Guns, and the Barracks.

Meanwhile, the Invasion force goes through one last check of weaponry before setting off for the Isles.

SED Assassinations #1: Starting Small
The SED plan to work their way up through political/military ranks so their mission would start off easier.

In Detroit, Seattle, and Darkmount, Snipers will be deployed to gun down local politcal figures such as Mayors and Business Executives.

In Portland, a group of ladies hired by the SED shall set out and seduce political and military figures, coating their lips with poison or slipping arsenic in their meals.

(OOC: If any ATCO members want to rp the assassinations/assassination attempts by the SED, go ahead. It makes it easier for me.)

Detroit, Michigan

All major businesses contributing are given police protection and some given military MPs. President Hertzer considers them absolutely vital to the war effort. Workers file in every day at the factory entrances to begin their shifts to produce war supplies. All executives are given police escort to their factories and headquarters. Their major architects and engineers are also given security while at work. They are also stressed to to discuss their work with anyone and head straight home after work. The Detroit Tank Arsenal run by Horne Motor Company actually has a full military police company protecting it.

Portland, Oregon

The shipyards that are producing navy vessels, especially the new Detroit-class heavy cruisers, are given Navy MP guard 24/7. All shipyard employees and military personnel are given orders to stay away from loose women as they may have contactable STDs. Executives and Military commanders are warned to not mingle with women who may be trying to extract any information. The phrase "Loose lips, sink ships" is pracriced by all personnel.

The Assassination of the Emperor

Set up in a window, the Sniper looked overhead with his binoculars. As the Emperor arrived, he'd unpack his sniper rifle from the guitar case cover and load it with ammunition. As the emperor made his speech, the Sniper aimed down his sights and once the shot was right, he pulled the trigger, the bullet going through the emperor's head.

As soon as he did his objective, he'd pack up and start making his way down to his escape vehicle...

Detroit, Michigan, June 8, 1940

With the summer heating up around the Great lakes, North American Motors CEO Craig Mitchell leaves his office to grab a glass of water. With the faucets in his building not working, he decides to head down the street to a local restaurant where they may have water. He is only accompanied by an industrial engineer working for the factory that is making M3A1 Halftracks. Temperatures in Detroit reached 97 degrees Fahrenheit.

Celebes Sea

The submarine that fired the torpedo fires one last torpedo from it's rear tubes as it slips away and leaves the Celebes Sea. The submarine patrol wraps up it's patrol in the area after a few weeks hunting ICPS shipping in the waters off the Scarlet Shogunate. Admiral Fowler is convinced that with more submarine attacks, he might be able to deal a serious blow to their supply lines running through the waters off Southeast Asia. He authorizes the construction of more Flasher and Swordfish-class fleet submarines.

Mr. Mitchell takes a sip of water and asks if he can get any ice in it. The engineer with him finishes his and gets ready to pay.

Fort Lewis, Washington

The 2nd Field Army is now fully under way to North Amwell. Washington Army Staff now prepare the next field armies foe deployment as the war escalates. New recruits and supplies pour in from the east as Washington prepares to send it's boys to war. Still, commanders feel they won't be able to raise enough divisions to fight in North Amwell and still defend the homefront.

Bremerton Naval Station, Washington

Admiral Fowler sees the arrival of more ships from the Atlantic fleets as the war at sea is estimated to cost more ships than originally thought. Aircraft carriers are high on his list, followed by the destroyers to protect them. Some are also trying to get their new battleships built to counter the Dragomerian battleships that have some worried. While many of them are of older designs that refitted Washingtonian dreadnoughts and the new fast battleships can handle, the newer Yamato-class and Super Yamato-class has some worried. The Juggernauts are also an ever present nightmare for the Navy. The JPACC committee starts to draw plans on how to deal with these Juggernauts.

Above Midway

The Zeros continue pursuing the enemy aircraft. They saw that their strategy was working, so they continued it. The G3M bombers, meanwhile, were under fire by the enemy AA defenses. They then started dropping their large payloads over Midway.

Near Midway

The Imperial Battleships continued firing at the enemy battleships. The Imperial Battleships benefited from their mechanical loading systems and the fire control systems, that allowed the battleships to have a high rate of fire (for battleships) and a fast speed for the rotation of the guns. As the Imperial Battleships fire, they also came under fire. The battleships recieved fire from the enemy. Since the Imperial Battleships were pointed towards the enemy, the enemy's armor piercing rounds that hit, impacted the bow of the battleships, causing minor damage to most of the ships. A Fuso-class battleship was hit hard, causing damage to one of its turrets and damaging its mechanical reload system for that turret. The Imperial Battleships saw a smoke screen start to form. The fleet knew that those in the smoke cloud would be unable to directly see the Imperial Fleet, just as much as the Imperial Fleet could not see those in the smoke screen. Taking advantage of that, the battleships started firing their own torpedoes, knowing that enemy toroedoes would also likely start heading towards them. In addition, Imperial Destroyers were also called in to attack the enemy battleships.

Above North Amwell

The Zeros did not cease from their attack on the bombers, but instead became more persistant and more ferocious in their attacks against the enemy bombers. The Zeros engaged with the enemy fighters, however, attacked the enemy fighters more determined to eliminate those enemy fighters. On the ground, those at the supply point heard of the approaching attack and managed to evacuate the area with their supplies.

Imperial Palace

The Emperor was looking at the reports of the recent enemy attacks on ICPS Trade Convoys. The Emperor then made a decision: "All ICPS Trade Ships, especially for vital and military supplies, must be accompanied by Imperial Anti-Submarine Destroyers and Submarines. The Hunter Fleets or Japan-approved alternatives would henceforth be the sole escorts allowed for shipping."

The Scarlet Shogunate wrote:The Assassination of the Emperor

Set up in a window, the Sniper looked overhead with his binoculars. As the Emperor arrived, he'd unpack his sniper rifle from the guitar case cover and load it with ammunition. As the emperor made his speech, the Sniper aimed down his sights and once the shot was right, he pulled the trigger, the bullet going through the emperor's head.

As soon as he did his objective, he'd pack up and start making his way down to his escape vehicle...

OOC: Oh, dear. I didn't want him dead. Let me fix that.

A very long read for those not faint of heart, those who don't mind reading mediocre writing, and are interested in reading something that doesn't have much to do with the war in general.

San Diego, Ascoobis, July 2, 1940, 12:49 PST

The Imperial Motorcade arrived at the Sand Diego City Hall. Before exiting the Washinton-built vehicle, Carlos Jimenez admired the high-rises of the city, proud of Ascoobian achievement. Emperor Jimenez strode over to a podium at the entrance of the building between three pairs of ionic columns. He spoke to the crowd before him.

"My fellow Ascoobians, today I come before you to ask your for your help. Help in defending your nation from the scourges that see to enslave us. As I'm sure you've heard, our government has been busy relocating our industrial base eastward. Now we need workers to build tanks, planes, equipment, and other supplies for our brave men and women in uniform that are holding off the barbarians. I once again implore you to volunteer at your local recruiting station. At it is not only the factories that need hands, but the farms, steel and refineries, and mines of the Southwest as well. Now as patriot I will take my leave to perform my duty of protecting my fellow Ascoobians and bury these demons under an Ascoobian aerial bombardment. Thank you for your time."

As the Emperor was turning around to his Imperial Guard when three shots rang out. Three bullet entered the Emperor's back. Two into his lower back and one into the upper back. One shot through his torso and buried itself in the pavement below him. Emperor Jimenez fell to the floor, fell into unconsciousness, and began bleeding from his wounds profusely. Chaos ensued. Citizens were fleeing the area and The Guard had carried the gravely wounded Emperor to the waiting automobile. With time of the essence, the driver pushed the Washintonian-built V8 Engine to its limit as it sped to the nearest hospital.

6 Hours Later

[i]Emperor Jimenez awoke in a hospital room to a blazing flash of florescent lights from tubes hooked onto the ceiling. Combined with the dull pains from what he assumed were his wounds. He was even connected to an experimental I.V. machine. One of his guards saw that he was awake and summoned the doctor. A doctor entered the room, a surgeon by the looks of it. He put what Jimenez knew to be a fake smile on his face and addressed the Emperor.

"Hello Emperor Jimenez. I am Doctor Forge. You're at San Diego University Medical Center. From what I know from your situation, an unknown assailant has made an attempt to assassinate you. It has been six hours since the mishap and surgery was quite successful.--"

The Emperor saw the look on his face, his experience as a politician informed him on the nature behind the doctor's grim expression. He decided to cut right to the chase and interrupted.

"Alright Doc, just give me the bad news and then the good news. There's no use hiding it, sugarcoating, or beating around the bushes."

The doctor pursed his lips before speaking.

"It's Doctor Forge, your majesty. Now, to put this frankly, the bad news is that you have been paralyzed from your legs down."

There was silence in the room. Emperor Jimenez's face was as unreadable as stone.

Trying to loosen the tension forming in the room, Doctor Forge continued. "The good news is that we've managed to remove those dreadful bullets and your upper body is on it's way to recovery. However with your grievous injury, there would have to be lifestyle changes in order to adapt to life without use of your lower appendages."

But the Emperor did not bother to listen to the rest. This insensitive doctor had informed him with the news that he was paralyzed for life. Not much seemed to matter to him at the moment. Not the work of his housekeeper at his Darkmount estate nor the state of his adopted nephew currently studying abroad. He was sure to enter into a depressed stupor. However slowly thought came to his head and he came to a realization. One made clear by this attempt on his life. His enemies didn't respect him. The only clear option he saw was to force them to fear him. Revenge was now on his mind.

He called to his guard. "Jason! Where are those files that were in the car."

He then immediately turned to the Doctor. "Forge, bring me a wheelchair."

They both responded with varying amounts of concern. Forge answered first. "You-You're leaving! You can't! You haven't fully recuperated. You must rest!"

"I'll 'rest' when an Ascoobian soldier doesn't have to wake up wondering if that sunrise will be his or her last! I'll 'rest' when those that are responsible for my condition are in front of an Ascoobian firing squad! And this condition will not be the barrier that will cause me to fail by country and its people! I WILL NOT allow it!". The Emperor shot back.

By this time Jason had answered. "Yes, my liege. They're right here.". Signalling to the briefcase in his hands.

"Good man. Now let's go over them. As they cover what was papers and other information was found in the ruins of the Scarlet's Spy Ring HQ in Decagon, they could lead us to this assassin."

Forge, only out of fear for his life, had accepted the Emperor's orders and had delivered the wheelchair; which meant that he was not close enough to hear the Emperor speak on what was in the file. "If there is any change in his condition, please contact me."; he spoke to the guard named Jason.

Once they had reached the parking lot, only Jason's private car was available. Which the Emperor found satisfactory. After five minutes of painstakingly getting the Emperor into the car, they were off with the Emperor in the passenger seat and the wheelchair taking up room in the trunk.

"Where to sir?"

"To Decagon Prison on Alcatraz Island. We're going to have a really long conversation with the survivor of the Decagon spy ring. We will see if we could find other members connected to the Scarlet Spy Network in Ascoobis before too much damage is done. What is the state of the country?". Emperor Jimenez asked bitterly, feeling that he already knew the answer.

Agent Jason groans before responding. "Well, Governor Rivera has taken command in your absence. Other then that, not much has occurred in the last several hours. The Washintonians continue to hold off the Dragomerians in North Amwell. I have copies of Washintonian reports for you to look forward to later, if you're up for it. Considering your..."

"Power-hungry mongrels, the lot of them, but I'll need them to win this war.......By the way, don't speak to me as if I'm a frail, helpless child. Treat me as you did before this....catastrophe. Yes, I would love to found out the sort of opposition that our ATCO friends are facing. Now I will be taking a nap. Need to sleep of this damn headache. Maybe I'll be feeling a little better by the time we get there."

"Wait! That's an 800 km drive!". Exclaimed Jason.

Then you had better....get started..." Emperor Jimenez replied before dozing off.

OOC: Keep in mind that that smoke screen is just fuel added to the smoke stacks to create more black smoke to screen the warships. It is not the World of Warships smoke screen you are thinking of.
Midway Island Naval Air Station

The Wildcat and Warhawk fighters, forced to break off from the bombers, attempt a high speed dive to get away from the zeroes and zoom climb to altitude to break the bandits from their tails.

At Sea, Admiral Cunningham orders the vessels to make a seventy degree turn to Port to angle their side armor to the Dragomerian shells. This would angle the hull armor to increase it's protection while still being able to bring all it's guns to bear on the enemy fleet. The Washington benefits from it's advanced fire control and radar directed guns continues to target the Yamato-class battleships with AP shells. From the smoke screen, the destroyer squadron fires it's volley of torpedoes towards the enemy battleships. As this occurs, the Washingtonians see the incoming Dragomerian destroyers headed in for their own attack run. Cruisers ROWS St. Louis (CA-43) and ROWS St. Paul (CA-34) target the Dragomerian destroyers with their 8-in/55 caliber main guns and secondary 5-in guns.

Above North Amwell, June 1940

The bombers of the 19th release their payload on the Dragomerian supply depot that was 100 miles east of Nome. After dropping their bombs, they set a course for home. Out of the 72 B-17s sent up, ten were lost. Of the 36 Warhawks, 11 were lost. Despite this, the arrival of more Washingtonian planes in North Amwell convinces command to continue with bombing raids targeting airfields supply depots, and railways station.

Near Nulato, Yukon River, North Amwell, June 5, 1940

The 20th Reconnaissance Squadron of the 9th Cavalry calls in more artillery to try and halt the Dragomerian vanguard from reaching the river. Two batteries of 105mm howitzers fire at the oncoming Dragomerian Army forces as their near Hill 79 and the small town nearby that is manned by the 1st battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division. 15 M3 tank destroyers are sent over the river to help reinforce the positions.

OOC: Question.....So, a 100 fighters, constantly firing at 72 bombers and only 10 bombers are lost? How exactly does that work out? B-17's statistically required escorts for protection.

Also, how did I get to the river? North Amwell said that the line of defense was 100 miles from the shore. I am sure that The river is more than 100 miles from the invaded shore line. We may need to wait for North Amwell on this.

OOC: Okay seriously, 100 Zeroes against 72 B-17s? Are you trying to just spam out these numbers so it's guaranteed that I lose every time? Seriously, even the Luftwaffe could not match the U.S 8th Air Force's number of bombers in the air. Is this an error in our RP or do you expect a high attrition rate for your Zeroes against B-17s? The losses for B-17s was due to the fact that they could not get fighter escort until later in the war, and two, the aircraft they were flying against were the BF-109 and the FW-190. Zeroes fared much worse due to their lack or armor and self-sealing fuel tanks.

As for the river, we may need North Amwell to clear this up.

Also, what do you think of my post in the OOC Thread and my last IC Post(I felt that it was a little off topic.)? Just waiting for the mod's approval on the OOC Thread.
