The recent initializing of trade with Amerika already started a fire of economic activity within the Shimazu Empire, but a new partner is already adding fuel to the flames. The Imperial Court has been passing out large government subsidiaries and loans to large companies with the power to export many tons of goods overseas. New factories have opened up to meet with foreign demands, increasing employment and productivity.

Taking cue of mobilization of foreign military assets closer towards the Shimazu Empire, the Ministry of War announced the "Military Acquisition Program for the 30th Year of his Majesty Yoruhito's Reign", an 80-billion dollar purchase plan raise troop and equipment levels to more than equal to any foreign military force in Southeast Asia. Hundreds of vehicles and hundreds of thousands of troops are to be hired, along with purchasing new aircraft carriers.

About 80 Amerikaner F35-C Lightning II's will fill up these carriers for 13.6 billion Coronas. Noticing an increased foreign naval presence, the Imperial Court has bough 300 AGM-158C Long Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LRASM) for 477 million Coronas.

The Großreich's International Involvements Expand

Of all continents, the Amerikanisch Großreich has been increasing its involvement in East Asian affairs over the past few weeks. This was confirmed yesterday, when the Ministry of State for Asia-Pacific announced that a major trade deal has been signed with the Mesian State, a major milestone in Mesian-Amerikaner relations. According to the Ministry, the trade deal includes increased Mesian involvement in the Großreich's financial sector of the economy, and in exchange, the Großreich would export automobiles to the Mesian State. "Overall, the trade deal is significant step towards building relations with the nation's of the Asia-Pacific region." Said the Minister of State for Asia-Pacific.

In other news, it has been announced that the Kreigsmarine has deployed warships to the South China Sea, in response to international tensions building in the South East Asian area. In a statement by the Ministry of National Defense, the move was "An attempt to diffuse the tension in the Asia-Pacific region with foreign military present. The naval force deployed includes one Kaiser Class Aircraft carrier, two Wiesbaden class battleships, twenty two Type 196 assault submarines, 45 frigates of varying classes, and 25,000 Marin-Infanterie. The naval fleet, commanded by Admiral Klaude Lüdersdorp, will be stationed in Java, an Adruvish territory that has agreed to allow the Amerikanisch fleet to dock on the island.

ONE DOOR CLOSES; ANOTHER OPENS

Over irreducible concern over rising military activity in Southeast Asia and possible economic repercussions, the Großreich of Amerika has closed trade with the Shimazu Empire. With trade being open for a few days, many companies on both sides lost out in overseas investments and deals. However, particularly in the Shimazu Empire, that lost business is being rotated to open trade with Scotatrova, which officially began yesterday after some meetings within the city of Muse.

"We painfully regret the decision of Amerika I to close trade with the Shimazu Empire", stated Mitsubishi CEO Mitsubishi Kenichiro. "Our overseas facilities and shipments will redirect to Scotatrova to reduce our losses in profits."

Meanwhile, the closed trade meant that 43 billion Coronas will be refunded back to the Ministry of War, canceling a very significantly large part of the "Military Acquisition Program for the 30th Year of his Majesty Yoruhito's Reign". The Ministry of War may relocate this large sum to purchasing equipment from Scotatrova and Grand Adruvain instead, according to an address made about three hours after the closing of trade with Amerika.

" Now, this may be a large step back for the defense of our glorious country", grimly said Minister of War Yamakaze Hiroshi. " However, we will not give up. Our budgeting offices are working very hard right now to allocate assets to new equipment purchases and equipment production orders."

Involvement in Asia Expands

Today a significant treaty has been signed between the Mesian State and the Amerikansich Großreich. The treaty, called the Mes-Amerikaner Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, proposed by the Amerikansich Ministry of State for Asia-Pacific, a sub-agency of the Amerikanisch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Relations, has been approved and signed by both the Mesian State and the Amerikansich President, and has been ratified by the National Congress, yet barley passed in the National Parliament. The treaty highlights and addresses several key points, such as a student exchange program and addressing the use of the South China Sea.

Due to the success of the treaty's ratification in both nations, economic relations between the two are expected to thrive, as the Mesian State has established a Service Firm in Nieuw Amsterdamsburg, the second largest city of the Großreich. Over the course of the next several years, cultural, political, and economic ties between the two nations are expected to generally improve, although tensions in the South China Sea may cause the Großreich to get dragged into the upcoming conflict, which has been the majority argument for those against the ratification of the treaty in the Großreich. Regardless, it is commonly hoped in both nations that the treaty will bring peace and prosperity between the two nations.

The Mes-Amerikaner Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation

Article 1: Sovereignty

Both the Mesian State and the Amerikanisch Großreich shall recognize each other as sovereign nations, and agree to not violate that sovereignty. Both nations shall recognize each of the other's satellite states, colonies, allied nations, etcetera.

Article 2: Tariffs and Trade

By this agreement, both nations shall agree to lower tarriffs on each other's products, unless otherwise agreed upon. Both nations shall encourage trade and investment between the two nation's economies.

Article 3: Embassies and Consulates:

This agreement shall see the establishment of embassies and consulates in each nation. The Großreich shall establish an embassy in Beijing, and three consulates in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Nanjing. Mes, in return, shall establish an embassy in Sankt Michaëllesburg am Weißtromer, and three consulates in Klagenfurt, Amsterdam, and Dosserhagen.

Article 4: Cultural Ties

This treaty shall see a student exchange program set up between Mes and the Amerikanisch Großreich, which shall allow a Mesian student to study abroad in the Großreich, and vice versa for the Amerikanisch student. Both nations shall encourage the learning of each other's national languages (Höch-Amerikansich from the Großreich and Mandarin Chinese from Mes), as well as the culture of each nation's peoples.

Article 5: Non-Aggression

The Mesian State and the Amerikansich Großreich shall agree to a non-aggression pact for a period of 50 years, meaning this article of the treaty may be reviewed in 2069. Until then, both nations may not wage war on each other.

Article 6: Trade Routes

This agreement shall see the Großreich gain access to the shipping lanes of the South China Sea for commercial use only. Mesian authorities will have the power to detain Amerikanen in their waters, provided the detainees have violated Mesian law, and may be tried in Mesian courts for criminal offenses committed in the South China Sea, only. Naval vessels may only deployed by the Amerikanisch Großreich should the Mesian State provide explicit consent to do so.

Nordenlände Joins the Union, Unification at Last!

Sankt Michaellesburg am Wießtromer has announced that the Republic of Nordenlände, the last Amerikaisch State outside of the Reich, will join the Union. The Werhmacht confirmed this when it marched into and peacefully occupied the Republic's major cities, lowering the Nordenländisch flag and raising the Amerikanisch Stars and Bars over the Nordenländisch Capital City. The Republic has a population of just 13.780 million, but is still a major industrial area, especially in the automobile and technology industries. The region, as with all other States in the Union, will recive direct investments from the National Government into industry and technology, which is expected to lead to economic growth and prosperity.

With the whole of the Amerikanisch Peoples unified under a single government, the people can finally rejoice, as the people of Amerikanisch descent, weather they be of Frankish-Andalian descent or are modern European in descent, all answer to the same government. Kaiser Michaëlle Hrothgar I has proclaimed a period of celebration in the capital, with parades, feasts, and other renowned cultural traditions of the Amerikanisch people have occurred in the Reich's many beer halls, concert halls, and museums. Some, however, are not too keen on celebrating, as some feel that the expansion of the Reich should not stop at the Donau, and the Amerikanen should create a colonial empire to spread influence. Regardless of these comments, the time for celebration is upon the realm, as unification has at last occurred.

Extending Friendships

VLADIVOSTOK- The Communist State of Yottabotta and the Great Shimazu Empire have agreed on a trade deal at a summit, setting tariffs agreeable to both sides and ensuring safe, legal trade. A step forward in securing peaceful relations in East Asia, both nations look forward together to economic prosperity. Particularly in the Shimazu Empire, businessmen look forward to the high Yottabottan demand of goods from tropical climates.

Meanwhile in Senegal, the Shimazu Empire has also established trade with the Republic of Greater Albania and the Albanian Commonwealth. Companies eagerly strike it rich with dreams of flooding the Albanian market with Shimazu goods, and merchants and retailers bring in African goods, primarily agricultural products such as yam and cotton. However, the large iron reserves in West Africa are not to be ignored, as shipping companies rake in large amounts of iron for sale to hungry heavy industry and railroad-building corporations.

CEO of Oriental Rice Yamashita Kouji exclaims, " Our wide selection of grains will definitely appeal to the Yottabottan palette. We also plan on licensing out some of our hardier rice breeds to colonial Yottabottan farmers as they expand across Siberia. Our more tropical breeds will reach Albanian farmers."

Heavy industry giants Nissan, Mitsubishi, Fuji, Hino, and others plan on also getting in the action. With Yottabottan's great length and large expanses of land, automobiles, trains, farming equipment, and heavy industry is a must. Hundreds of trucks and dozens of trains are expected to be shipped to Vladivostok by the end of August. Hundreds of automobiles and dozens of ships will head to Greater Albania.

Back in Southeast Asia, military exercises between Scotatrovan and Shimazu military forces play out in North Sumatra, strengthening bonds and promising more security in a time of foreign military build up. On the northern point of Sumatra, Scotatrovan military bases are in construction, possibly allowing up to 100,000 personnel, 300 aircraft, hundreds of vehicles and dozens of ships to be stationed.

The 43 billion Corona refunded from earlier in the year will be invested in domestically building equipment, conducting research, and buying from Yottabotta, Greater Albania, and Scotatrova. The Ministry of War announced development of a new stealth anti-ship missile and a new amphibious assault vehicle along with other equipment.

The Amerikansich Großreich Assumes Leadership of the Eldenian Commonwealth

A press conference was held in Sankt Michaëllesburg am Wießtromer today, in which the President of the Reich, Phillip H. Scheinberg von Trondhiem announced that the Amerikansich Großreich has assumed leadership of the Eldenian Commonwealth, an alliance of North American nations. The press conference was held after the Equalsun Empire announced that it was stepping down from the role as the leading power amongst the Eldenian nations, and as such, the Amerikanisch Großreich has assumed the role of the leading power of the Eldenian nations.

In his press conference, the President outlined several changes he will be implementing to the commonwealth, including that himself (and future Amerikansich heads of state or government) will be declared the President of the Commonwealth. In addition, he also spoke of an annual Congress of States, a convention of member states annually to outline the objectives of the Commonwealth, both domestically and abroad. The President also spoke of making slight altercations to the commonwealth's sharing technology plan, stating that sharing top secret plans will be optional, not mandatory.

Many inside the Amerikanisch Government have embraced the President's move to assume the role of leader. Klaude Glöck von Salzburg am Donau, the Minister of State for the Americas, stated "The President's press conference clearly depicts the idea that the Großreich has embraced the idea of assuming leadership of the Eldenian nations. The Amerikanen are overjoyed to take the helm from the Equalsun Empire." Other notable figures in the Amerikanisch Government, such as the Premier of Hollände and the Archduke of Blauvaria, have also endorsed the President for assuming leadership of the Eldenian Commonwealth.

In the light of a Mesian trade blockade in the Indian Ocean, the Imperial Court announced martial law and the activation of the Compulsory Military Service Decree of 1865, conscripting 700,000 males of the ages of 18 to 30 into the Shimazu Imperial Armed Forces. Hundreds of factories have switched to making military equipment. Shipping lines to Africa and Europe have switched to traveling across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and through the Arafura sea, where trade is protected by the Shimazu Imperial Navy. With possibility of war with the Mesian Commonwealth very real, the Empire readies up hastily to protect the sovereignty of the Empire. Raw materials bought from Yottabotta, Scotatrova, Greater Albania, Grand Adruvain, and Eldenia (a trade partner as of yesterday) are made into uniforms, guns, missiles, bullets, tanks, trucks, ships, and planes.

" Our right and honor as an independent, sovereign nation is threatened by evil foreign powers, " observed His Majesty the Emperor Yoruhito on an address to the entire nation. "Not only our trade is scoured, but the shipping to and from Rodnerova, Osphen, Magnus Loken, Verakoz, and countless others in the Indian Ocean is severely affected. Today, at 12:00 PM the HMNS Mane, a 'Victor' Class Destroyer deployed to the Orient with the heightening tensions, ported in Sebu-shi, capital of the Shimazu Empire, which Adruvain has Cordial Relations with, to stop for routine Refueling and resupplying. At 1:00 PM, the ship, exploded in a great ball of flame, with the Captain and Officer staff still on board, all perishing, with a majority of the Crew on shore leave. News arrived in Jakarta and Penang by 1:30 PM, and Waydon by 2:00 PM. In Waydon, a crowd arrived near the Palace of Waydon, Parliaments headquarters, and was addressed by Prime Minister Carlston.
"The Adruvish Crown has no idea how the HMNS Mane blew up, we shall launch an investigation on how and why it blew up, and to make it clear, we are not crossing out the Shimazu Empire as the culprit, nor any other power in the Orient!"
The Adruvish East India Company, which represents Adruvain in the Orient, has suspended trade with the Shimazu Capital area until further notice, whilst the rest of the country shall retain Adruvish Trade.

HMNS MANE CONTROVERSY
August 24, 2019

The recent explosion of the HMNS Mane in Sebu-shi harbor yesterday has called in the attention of the Shimazu Ministry of Intelligence to help Adruvish investigators with examining the wreckage of the warship. The area of the wreck has been cordoned off as to not interfere with the investigation. Salvaging and cargo ships float in the harbor, collecting pieces of evidence inaccessible to analyzing by divers and submersibles. Commercial watercraft damaged by the explosion sit in repair docks.

Chancellor Holds Press Conference Regarding South China Sea

Chancellor Orlov held a press conference earlier today regarding the recent conflict in the Southern Chinese Sea.
The Chancellor made key points declaring the conflict as "dangerous" with tensions rising. The Chancellor also stated that he will "valiantly stand by [our] allies in Asia under any circumstances."

The Chancellor made a statement regarding the Shimazu Empire,

"The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense have reason to believe that the Shimazu Empire plans on making the Pacific insecure, which can interfere with trade and call us to duty on behalf of the TPSTP. As we gain more information on the new nation, we will act accordingly.

Chancellor Orlov has since confirmed future meetings with the Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding the issue and plans to press the subject.

The Chancellor also voiced his concern with the economic embargo's by Scotatrova placed on Nieblham and Tsujan which are all allies of Drucezchski, stating "the embargo's placed by Scotatrova may directly affect Drucezchskian trade" and that resolutions are being discussed.

The Chancellor has made no comment on the possibility of war in the South China Sea and Drucezchski's potential role in said war.
Chancellor Orlov also announced the lifting of the economic embargo on Grand Adruvian and stated "I expect to meet with Adrivan officials as soon as possible".

Commandant Uthman got on the carrier's PA system. "Comrades, lend me your ears. Remember why we are about to do battle. The air is alive with the stomping of Proletarian boots. "Get to the base, hurry!" The Proletarian host charges to the military base occupied by the aristocratic government.
"Rockets, at the ready!" A line of soldiers armed with RPG-7's step up. "Open fire!"
The rockets roar towards the base. A deafening boom blows apart the wall of the base.
"Launchers, take down those towers!" A volley of grenades are fired at the guard towers, bringing them down with a metallic shriek. Five specialized Land-Rover Wolves speed into the base, opening fire on any troops they see with their mounted PKM's. The violence continues, until finally the base has been won. When the dust settles, 57 proletarian troops have been slain, but the opposition has been neutralized, all either dead or surrendered. With the base under Proletarian control, the rest of Corsica will be claimed effortlessly. Commandant Uthman radioes the rest of the Proletarian army for them to come to Ithra to assist in its liberation.

Following the collapse of law and order in Ithra, the League of Eurasian Nations (so renamed due to the ascension of Rodrenon into the organization last year) Parliament met in an emergency session at the organization's headquarters in Rome. In an almost unanimous vote, chairmanship of LEN was transferred from Ithra to Hespero-Belkia. The League is currently planning to temporarily relocate its headquarters to the Hespero-Belkian capital city of Acheron until the crisis in Ithra is resolved or another suitable city can be selected as capital.

In a press conference given less than 2 hours after the announcement of the results, Emperor William had this to say:
"It is a great honor for Hespero-Belkia to be granted the opportunity to take the position of leadership within LEN. Our country has a had long history with the League, having been among the original signatories of the Treaty of Gdansk alongside Ithra, Scotatrova, and the Dual Nations. In the almost half century since its establishment, LEN has grown to include most of the nations of Europe, and has even expanded beyond Europe to include trusted allies like Osphen, Rodrenon, and Verakoz - hence its recent renaming. It is my promise that under Belkian leadership, LEN will not lose sight of its founding principles, and will continue to build the path towards a better tomorrow, not just for its members, but for the entire world.

The Ministry of Defense also announced that it is planning an operation to secure the Rome region in order to protect LEN assets and facilitate the transfer of the League's seat of power from Rome to Acheron.

MALJARATAS AND WHITMORE: NEW TRADE PARTNERS

As Southeast Asia heads to war, factories have been churning out weapons, ammunition, uniforms, medicine, supplies, and other wartime goods for an expected total of 1,645,000 active personnel that will stand in the army by at the most November. 500,000 professional troops will join the military by the end of September.
