Breaking News-The Government of Neo Rome Republic posting troops on border. Eldenian Empire(Equalsun Empire) partakes in surprise military exercises within Whitmore. Northern neighbor of NRR. NRR Government posts troops in northern border as a precaution and demands Equalsun Empire assure intentions are not "malevolent".
The Government of Neo Rome Republic has decided to post troops in the Northern border of NRR in 3 "key spots" of Northwest, East, and Center. Along with 3 separate and "similar" military detachments in the south of the border. The NRR government does not wish to currently disclose the amount of vehicles and troops posted in the 3 positions on either side, but has stated that they are "sizeable". "Over 100k at least, along with large numbers and similar numbers of militia in the area as well" according to government sources. And asked if there are any military grade planes in the NRR airspace, the government would neither "confirm nor deny".
The National Sonacist Party of NRR has cautioned Whitmore that to notify the NRR government in the future before such exercises take place. It has also demanded that the Eldenian government express their "intentions" for such exercises "so far from their native border".
The Neo Roman Government has issued this statement on the exercises and its reaction: "We are a country of peace, not war . We do not know and do not understand why the Eldenian Empire has taken to such exercises close to our border, we do not pose a threat to them. If Whitmore themselves were to have such exercises take place, perhaps we'd ask no questions. Country's do such things all the time, it is perfectly fine. And we have had no sour relations with Whitmore at all. And perhaps if the Equal government had these exercises take place in its own empire in the south, we would not mind. But, in a time of tension, which Equal has had with its neighbors in the world, such exercises, within another country no less, do send alarms to the capital. Therefore, in order to make sure tensions are not escalated, we would like the Eldenian Empire to state its intentions to us in Whitmore, and we demand for Whitmore's government to, in the future, notify us whenever it allows a foreign power to perform exercises near our border. We have begun scrambling troops all over strategic areas because we are unsure given the current political atmosphere in the world. But, like we said, we are a country of peace, and would like assurance from Eldenian Empire that there is nothing malintentional towards us with those exercises. If that does not happen, then tensions will continue and the prospect of an incident in the border continues to increase. Please, think about what we have said, and we hope this is nothing more than a big misunderstanding between neighbors. Hail Sona!"
