We start in say 500 BC, there is no large empires in the world - we make them and their territories up (obviously geographically realistic, no slavic peoples in Iberia or Scandinavians in Anatolia etc.) and from there we create a saga of threads at various dates. So we start at 500 BC, end the first thread at like 0 AD and go forth.
