The Sun shone down on the small town in the Sahel with a vengeance. A small four-man patrol of the Worker's Red Army recruits patrolled the road passing into town. They milled around while cars buzzed passed the small two lane road. It was a routine day, and the leader of the group cept a watchful eye on civilians. Suddenly, a shot rang out and a recruit dropped on the floor in pain.

"Aaaah! Sniper!" He exclaimed, while his buddies ran behind cover. A pickup truck armed with a machine gun began blasting away at civilians and the soldiers. Innocent civilians ran away as they got shot by the truck. But that was not all. Two Trucks stopped on the main road

Armed rebels jumped out and began firing at bystanders and the group of soldiers and they fell almost instantly. This was the begining of the Seperatist Insurgency.

In the capital, Lagos, government officals ran about frantically gathering intelligence about the attacks in Mali. A rebel group, La Liberté, was quickly getting support and members from people longing for independence in Mali. The attacks were carried out to show force and give hope to the people living under the UASR.

But of course, there was no such thing. La Liberté was quickly gaining members and had at least 80,000 troops, backed by 15,000 more volunteers from abroad, compared to the 200,000 active and reserve troops of the ASLA. Even though the UASR has the numbers, their weapons are outdated and are badly trained compared to the mostly professional training by the mostly ex-military La Liberté fighters. Both La Liberté and the UASR are longing for support in this guerilla war.

[Nation of Warfare]

When the President of Nation of Warfare receives a folder from his secretary of state Isabel Cardona, inside the folder were a list of international incidents happening across NS. As President Velasquez III opened the folder he came across a topic of a incident in West Africa. " A insurgency in West Africa.", says Velasquez. "Yes, sir.", says Isabel. As Velasquez continued reading he noticed that armed rebels had fired on military personal and on civilians. " If we support the rebels, then we will be fighting for a group that may not be fighting for what they claim to be fighting for, but if we support the government, those communist thugs will be bringing fear into the people of West Africa.", says President Velasquez. " But the insurgents are fighting for independence from these so you call "Communist Thugs".", says Isabel. Velasquez sits in his presidential seat and looks outside of his grand palace of gold. " We shall first help the rebels financially, to help them buy weapons, so they can fight the war till I make it official to send our military.", says Velasquez. Isabel then rushes out of his office and went to work.

Rebel Base, Unknown Coordinates,

The rebel leader, Omar Ar-Rashidūn, sat in a small tent in the middle of the Sahel. On a laptop, a smile emerged on his face. The 'Nation of Warfare' had wanted to support them financially for now, and wanted to send them weapons and equipment.

It was quite a good thing that his rebel movement was gaining support from the international community.

Two Mil Mi-4G Helicopters followed by a Mi-24 Hind hovered above the small Sahelian town down below. Below was a rebel stronghold which was taken over by rebels recently. The pilots watched as the rebels executed the village elders and chief along with their family.

The pilots could not take it anymore.

They started firing missles and cannons onto the rebel village causing confusion and panic in the Seperatist forces. Rebels were mowed down by a line of gunfire from the helicopters. 15 soldiers repelled down from the two Mil Mi-4s to take over the village while the Hind's passengers, who were snipers, repelled down onto a roof of a clocktower while the Hind flew above unleashing hell down below.

Heavy fighting insued between the Rebels in the town and the Government forces in the small, Sahelian town.

The Cesopiumian government makes a official announcement on this insurgency against the government of the African Socialist Republics, decreeing:

We of Cesopium wish to aide this Union to halt any form of unrighteous rebellion against a fair government. We will send one of our best forces. The X Legion, in return we ask for 3 Legion Chapter Houses in 3 cities of the choosing of the Republic.

As leaders of Nation of Warfare and the rebels leader Omar, were talking through a laptop. " On behalf of the President of Nation of Warfare, we would like to state that if your rebel army continues the killing of innocent civilians your rebel actions will be a violation of our support with you and we may fight this conflict even if it means freeing the Western African People ourselves, we are a mighty superpower and do not awake our sleeping giant.", says Isabel Cardona. The leaders then wait for a response from the rebel leaders.

Russian President Vladimir Putin during his address.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced that he will be making a address about the crisis in West Africa. He would then come on stage onto a podium and begins reading from his written speech. He addressed that Russia will be supporting its ally Nation of Warfare in this crisis. Putin has donated $15,000,000 NS Dollars to support the rebels. 15,000 troops have been placed in reserve waiting for orders to deploy troops to West Africa.

This conflict will not end with nations dog piling in and creating more chaos. Both sides of this coin are equally as evil and must be addressed as such. Therefore the National Democratic States will commit its full military might to cease this conflict immediately and force the UASR to cede the rebels a small exclave. If fighting does not cease in 72 hours our armed forces will be mobilized.

Colonel Askia Dahomey, leader of the UASR, had departed from the capital to Timbutku to further supervise his troops from the Workers Army. Two men, wearing indigo dyed flowing robes and a Tagelmust wrapped around their heads wielding KS-23 shotguns accompanied the Colonel in the town hall of Timbutku. He pushed opened double doors to reveal more men with KS-23 shotguns guarding a room filled with the Colonel's military advisors.

They saluted him as he took a seat and they began discussing the current situation. The Colonel signaled to an advisor to write a letter to the nations who are opposing and supporting the Union of African Socialist Republics.

The Ralioskanian Governing Council viewed the papers set on the table. "So, what do we do?" questioned Counselor Alex Rivera, who was in charge of the military. "If the government wins, that disgusting those disgusting communists will surely kill those rebels. Supporting the government will be against everything our government stands for!" cried Judo Cabero, who was in charge of the economic part of the country.

"Yes, and if the rebels win well, they country's government won't necessarily become a democratic one, would they?" said respected leader Zander Nacpil. "And they're killing innocent civilians!" cried Joaquin Perez. The council thought and waited in silence. "I'll write a telegram to the rebels." said Nacpil. "Alex, send six tanks to the rebels, as a token of friendship." Nacpil said as he left the meeting room.

The few High Command Members were at their bunkers, idling at the maps and holograms of the several countries that ALIAS had in their directories via an isolated connection. The generals carefully eyed a particular hologram image. It was the parts of West Africa, but one nation in particular was having a rather big problem.The general in charge quickly stood up and went to the image.
"The Union of African Socialit Republics, hmmm.. quite a distress for our socialist brothers. The ALIAS may have had a good explanation sending it here for profile."
The general then clicked on the image and another image showed the cities and proximity of the UASR and La Liberte rebel forces.
"As we see, a rebel group called La Liberte has called up an independence movement. Their numbers based on the profile is being expected about 10,000 to about a hundred thousand as well as abroad symphatizers. If i am correct they are in a region known as Mali."
Another general whispered to his seatmate, then stood up also.Pointing at the image he said," This region has no use for us. What can we benefit if we ever join this conflict?"
"Benefit? We have numerous profits if we perhaps gain victory here. The region may have potential oil reserves as well as natural resources, the UASR is plum for economic admonition. We also gain influence on the surounding areas to cover our losses here at home. We can become a new power in Africa itself."
"That has no resolves general, we will not sacrifice our men far from home."
"Well see, i will contact the Office of Operations to find a proportional decision in this conflict. But expect that to be not otherwise my decision."
"Very well then."

The generals then went back to looking at other images, while the general in charge went to his VCOM and spoke with his secretary.
"Send a message to OFOP about the conflict in UASR. We may have a decision to intervene."
"Yes sir."

President Frank Velasquez was in his private gym lifting 235lbs in Bench Press, until his Secretary of State Isabel came in. "What is it?", says Frank. We have a response from the National Government in West Africa. Frank opens the letter and begins reading. He walks back to his office and looks outside. "What about the rebels, have they agreed on our financial support conditions?", says Frank. "We haven't received a direct response from them.", says Isabel. Frank looks back at the letter and reads a little. "Damn those communist thugs, trying to threaten me.", says Frank. The first lady of Nation of Warfare Edith Gonzalez walks into the presidents office. "I have a idea.", says Edith. "What is it then?", says Frank. "What if we can fund and create a freedom army in the country secretly, so we don't have to be giving money to so called "Murderous Dogs", and help the true people of West Africa.", says Edith. "But where are we going to find someone that is willing to create a army.", says Frank. "We have a African Immigrant, we can send into the country and he can create the militia himself, but it must require our military support.", says Isabel. "Contact, both factions of this conflict and hire this African Immigrant and get him to work.", says Frank as he rushes back to his gym.

The headline of the Novovladivostok Gazette that day simply read: "ВОЙНА СНОВА"; "War Again".

Three unemployed Krasnorussians huddled up near a barrel fire pit as they read the free newspaper while cooking their dinner of dog meat stew. Life in Krasnorussia was horrible and people were desperate for any hope that they could live better lives. This African war, to some, might be seen as an opportunity.

"Volodya." said one of the men. "This war about, your opinion what?"
Volodya gave his companion a dead-eyed stare, sighed, and muttered, "When, Kazakh, when will you learn to speak proper Russian?" He sighed again and said, "People much more important than we are fight this war for reasons we will never understand. Give me the newspaper and let me use it to feed the fire. It's cold."
"But Russian," interrupted the third man, a Ukrainian, "Your country -- she is supporting this war."
"She stopped becoming my country the day I stood up against 'comrade Putin'; now Kazakh, give me that damned newspaper."

Suddenly, a military truck pulled up from the street corner, its loudspeakers on full blast, screaming the same message in an infinite loop.
"THE SOVEREIGN REPUBLIC OF KRASNORUSSIA HAS ELECTED TO JOIN THE INSURGENCY IN WEST AFRICA IN A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY WITH OUR BROTHERS IN SOCIALISM. GLORIOUS COMRADE SOBAKOV, OUR BELOVED CHAIRMAN, ORDERS THAT ALL RESERVISTS WITH FOREIGN DEPLOYMENT OPTIONS MUST REPORT TO THEIR LOCAL ARMY OFFICES."

Like the news, this meant nothing to Volodya and his companions, as they never enlisted, even though that military service was mandatory in Krasnorussia. They would soon regret their decision when a group of soldiers burst out of the truck to beat them, handcuff them, and impress them into military service, to be shipped out to Mali as part of the 250-man Krasnorussian Expeditionary Korpus to Africa or EKKA.

Hotel Sahara Passion,
Northern Timbutku, Mali ASR

A rebel tank convoy surrounded the roads leading out of town by the now abandoned Hotel Sahara Passion. T-54 tanks took positions and rebel soldiers set up a stronghold in the abandoned hotel where they would base attack from.

Rebel soldiers began digging defensive positions in case they were attacked by government forces which occupied the southern part of the city. Omar's henchman, Pierre Valois began organizing his troops at and around the hotel.

More and more rebel troops began setting up landmines, tank barriers and sandbags and declaring the abandoned hotel the new rebel stronghold of the city. If they could secure the city, one of the major cities, they might just be able to attain victory...

Supreme Leader Korrapati appears in a press conference to briefly announce Carena's involvement in the war.

"The State of Carena will aid La Liberté in their fight to topple the oppressive and evil communist government. The Krasnorussian Expeditionary Force to Africa was under the command of Captain Ivan Kamenev, who was now addressing his regiment, the 5th Rifle Company, as they sat below the deck of a Sierra Leone flagged transport vessel on its way to Dakar.

"Comrades - we are being sent to support the legitimate government of..." he took a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and squinted to read the name, "The Union of African Socalist Republics."

"That's socialist, comrade captain!" said someone in the back row.

Kamenev threw down the piece of paper in anger and pointed a quivering finger at the soldier that had corrected him.

"RYADOVOY. IF YOU SPEAK ANOTHER WORD I WILL HAVE YOU SHOT!!" he shouted.

Without regaining his composure, he continued, "WE ARE BEING SENT TO AID THE UNION OF AFRICAN SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS."

"Comrade captain!"

Kamenev drew his pistol and shot the man in the head, as the men sitting near him scattered.

"THE TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY NINE OF YOU WILL ARE TO BE SENT AS ADVISORS, VEHICLE PILOTS AND TRAINERS TO THE COMMUNIST KING OF THIS AFRICAN NATION."

Nobody dared correct him this time. Kamenev did not even realize the irony of his statement.

"WE ARE TO ANNIHILATE THE DISGUSTING REBEL ANIMALS KNOWN AS LIBERTY. WHILE WE ARE HERE, WE ARE INSTRUCTED TO BE CULTURALLY SENSITIVE TO OUR BLACK BROTHERS."

Calming down a bit, he continued.

"Since no Krasnorussian soldier has ever set foot in Africa, it is inevitable that there will be some cultural and linguistic problems during our first contact with the black men. However, I spent three months in America living in an African enclave, and while I was there I learned much about their language. You will not need to converse with them at length. The basics will be enough. Now, repeat after me."

Kamenev cleared his throat.

"Hello -- Sup. Ma. Nigga."
"SUPMANIGGA!" the troops shouted.

"Goodbye -- Peace. Out."
"PIZAWT."

"Yes -- Fo. Sho."

"No -- Naw. Man."
"NOMENG."

"And now for basic military commands. You will need these if you wish to command African troops."

This horribly misinformed lecture continued for some time, and Kamenev's troops could not refute him since none of them knew anything about Africa, and their English skills were also very poor. Upon arriving at the Dakar docks, they expected to be greeted by representatives of the UASR.

The armored vehicles and troops rolled out of the cargo ships in disciplined formations, with the troops shouting, "SUPMANIGGA! SUPMANIGGA! UUUURAAAAAA!!!"

Once he was airborne he flew under the clouds. It was going to be an uneventful flight.

The People's Republic of Cedoria hereby announces its support for the legitimate socialist government of the USAR. We urge all powers to refrain from intervening to destabilise the situation further. We cannot guarantee the safety of troops supporting the terrorists and Fascists against the government's, and any nation seeking to support them would be advised to withdraw their forces. The People's Revolutionary Armed Forces is now mobilising a taskforce too be sent to West Africa to assist the USAR to destroy the terrorists. Any forces caught assisting the insurgents will be regarded as enemy combatants. Those who do not wish to be regarded as enemies should withdraw from the combat zone. The USAR is requested to make ready some of its airbases for use by PAFC strike Bombers to coordinate strikes against the terrorists.

A special note to the nation of warfare. We have dealt with your nation before, if your forces are caught assisting the terrorists, they will be earmarked for destruction. We do not wish to fight you, but if you destabilise the legitimate government, you can expect our retaliation.

We urge all other parties to allow the legitimate government to clear out the terrorists, and conduct peacekeeping to prote their nation. Cedoria will assist these operations, but USAR's legitimate government must be protected first.

The governors waited for the Counselors to take their seats. Soon, the meeting began, with the 35 State Governors (SG), military officers, business owners, and the like. Soon, Zander Nacpil spoke, "Today, we have made a choice. A choice that will maybe shape our future!" With that, the people shook a bit. "We have had two options, one, mobilize our army to help the rebels, as we have said in our pledge. Or number two, withdraw from the war." Nacpil paused. "Today, we have decided...to fight for freedom!" Some cheered, others stayed quiet, while some shouted "War?!" in shock. "This is the governments decision! And we will stick with it!" By now, people were cheering, the noise almost deafening. Alex Rivera turned to General Heverton. "General, prepare 5 brigades, each accompanied by one artillery battalion..." Rivera continued speaking. Soon,the general went off.
