Nordengrund is a small nation on the Nordik Isles. It was once unified under a theocratic republic, but it collapsed after the death of the nation's greatest leader, at least in the eyes of the ruling theocracy. The nation's demise was brought about by Chancellor Liechtenstein, a devout nondenominational Christian who declared a "crusade against homosexuality." For over a decade, homosexuals were imprisoned or exiled for the sexual orientation. Eventually, Liechtenstein softened his stance against homosexuality and decriminalized it and promised to tolerate it. This angered the National Diet, a single party council of members of the theocratic regime. They assassinated the chancellor, the very man who put them into power. This, in turn, infuriated the people, so they overthrew the government and all of the councilmembers were killed.

The nation plunged into two years of anarchy. There was no government at the national level, only city-states competing for their own interests. Several governments rose and fell in attempting to reunite the nation, but none of them lasted more than a month.

One man, the former Supreme General of the Republic's military, set out to unite Nordengrund through military force. After the fall of Republic, he became indoctrinated with Communism and blamed the collapse on both religion and capitalism. He successfully united the western part of the country and became President. As for the east, they feared the rise of Communism and united to resist it. They created a constitutional monarchy to provide a greater sense of unity.

For awhile, both nations have been seeking to assimilate the other side to make the land truly united again. These two nations are the New Reich of Nordengrund, in the east. It is a constitutional monarchy with a capitalist economy. The other is the People's Republic of West Nordengrund, ruled by a Communist regime.

The New Reich has a larger population, more wealth, and a larger military. The People's Republic have more territory, better infrastructure, and better military leadership.

Russo-Byzantine invited Imperion Coalition to possibly take the side of the monarchy so that it would defeat the communist side. Im currently debating the idea of actually getting involved at all (I do have a lot on my plate atm anyways), but to what degree I do not know. Imperion doesn't want to waste blood and more money on actually fighting a conflict for no return, so im wondering if Imperion did come in on the side of the monarchy, would it join our ranks? Otherwise, in the spirit of giving a hand to a fellow monarchy fighting an agreed upon foe (the reds), Imperion would be happy to provide some lethal and non-lethal support in the form of weapons, munitions, and some supplies. How extensive that is will depend on a further discussion, but I got plenty of old gear I could lend off and im sure donations could be made otherwise.

And FYI, I will be working with him to establish an ORBAT that is realistic and good.

Do look over the thread and understand what you're getting into before a decision is made in any sense of stone. This is a coalition of monarchist/imperial states and therefore is not a region - I wouldn't really make a region for this. So no, you are not required to join a region. You are, however, required some things which you may find on said thread. If it is still your choice to join, and prove to be active, then I can say my decision may be easier to make once an IC thread is made.
