A nuclear meltdown has happened in Warzone Europe. It spreads a radiation cloud over Europe, and is affecting millions. Fire crew are at the plant to put out fires,Citizens are causing riots and panic over certain countries that used nuclear power.

The plant before the meltdown had no buildings to prevent radiation from getting to the outside due to the countries trust in the builders, which left a design flaw in it. The people inside the plant were doing their usual business when the plant had a meltdown, and the building was made out of a material that is breakable to save money. The area surrounding the plant was a medium sized city, with some skyscrapers. There was also some houses with acres, and the city is near water along with the plant. Authorities are investigating what caused this meltdown, and advise the city around the plant to evacuate due to potential mutation from the radiation.

Rules:
Those in Warzone regions are free to participate, others can TG for entry.
No military use for war. You can use military for evacuation & help to put out fires and clear of radiation.
Use your actual Nations, not RP nations.

Federation Wartime Broadcasting Network
1100 Hours

Across all stations simultaneously there are four sets of four beeps in short succession; the attention signal for an emergency announcement. After a brief pause, a monotone, robotic voice reads the message.

This is the Wartime Broadcasting Network. All stations shall transmit this official message. The following message is broadcast at the request of the National Civil Denfence Administration.

An explosion in a nuclear power plant in Armedegon has created a catastrophic meltdown. Large amounts of radioactive debris have spread into the atmosphere as a result, and radioactive fallout is expected across Warzone Europe and Warzone Asia in the next few hours.

Fallout models from the National Civil Defence Administration suggest that the federation will remain largely unaffected. At this time however the government recommends that particularly vulnerable citizens, including young children and expectant mothers stay indoors where possible.

The federation government is working to coordinate the delivery of critical commodities and essential services. Expect more information shortly. Critical infrastructure is expected to remain working, but service may be disrupted.

This message will be repeated now, and again in ten minutes time with any new information. Turn off your radio until then to conserve power.

The message ends with four beeps.

Executive Tower, Campbell City

The disheveled finance minister gave his entire report based on speculation, having been given no time to compile date before being physically hauled to the emergency meeting.

"As there has not been any physical damage to the federation, we expect that critical infrastructure including our own energy production and industrial output will remain unaffected. The only major issue which we can expect, provided fallout models do not change, is the disruption caused by the mobilization of relief forces."

The minister looked around the room, trying to gauge the response. He continued.

"Of course, panic is a factor, and we expect absenteeism may be an issue, particularly for agriculture and transportation."

"Absenteeism we can handle." Interjected the Executive Commissioner for State Security. "Our police can keep a lid on any dissent. The key thing is making sure that we are in the loop on any investigation." The Commissioner finished, nodding solemnly to the Chancellor.

Within the hour, a response was sent to the government of Armedegon.

To: Government of Armedegon
Subject: Nuclear Response

The Federation government stands in solidarity with the affected people of this most recent crisis. In order to assist in maintaining order and support disaster-relief efforts, the Federation Government would like to offer the services of 200 trained riot suppression specialists attached to the Commission for Continuity of State Security. These troops will be supplied and financed entirely by the People's Defence Forces of the Federation, and once given permission to land in the affected zone, will be able to assist with either riot control or evacuation efforts, depending on what is deemed necessary.

In addition, the Commission is prepared to offer its expertise in organizing a future investigation into the causes of this disaster.

"Siree Chris Fujino!" the Adviser yelled as he entered the office. The Adviser had recently witnessed the explosion at the plant, and he ran to the office of the leader of Armedegon, Chris Fujino.

"Why did you barge in without knocking? You know that's one of the rules!" -Chris Fujino yelled angrily. He didn't like uninvited visitors with the exception of his staff.

"We got a emergency. One of the nuclear plants in Armedegon had a meltdown! Fallout is going to spread over Europe and Asia!" his adviser said

"What?." -Chris Fujino said. He put his hand on his head, "Oh god. I feared this when Chernobyl happened in Ukraine..." Chris started to breathe heavily from this development.

"Send out a AEAWS to all TV channels, tell ANNR, and ask-"

"The Campbell Nation has asked permission to land riot troops and evacuation personnel." his adviser told him. "Should I reply with no?"

"No, tell them yes. I don't want this country to be like a wasteland because of protests and people ignoring us." -Chris Fujino

"They'll finance it by the Federation also, so it shouldn't come with a cost..." -Adviser

"Fine, just tell them yes." -Chris said as he laid back in his chair with a horrified look on his face.

"Den Deafcorn here to report an emergency sent by the Armedegon government. A nuclear plant has had a meltdown. As a result, radioactive clouds have been released in the air and are all over Warzone Europe and Asia. The government has given the Federation of the Campbell Nation to land evacuation teams in the city to prevent illness and fatalities. More updates about this from ANNR and me, Den Deafcorn. Signing out."

1400h, Titanium Port

The red phone was ringing. The red phone was never supposed to ring. K'ha Thon picked it up. "What's the sitrep?"

"Massive reactor failure in Aremgedon, sir." K'ha Thon stopped breathing for a moment.

"Say again?"

"It's serious. Fallout is spreading across large portions of Europe, and even into Asia. The embassy has been closed and our personnel are sheltering in place, but I'm not optimistic about their chances..."

"I got it, I got it..." K'ha Thon sat down and rubbed his temples. "Have the military disaster control division ready a response."

"Roger that."

K'ha Thon pursed his lips. This wasn't going to bode well for the ongoing reactor expansions in Khronion.

1700h, Somewhere in Eastern Khronion, Military Disaster Response Control Center

"Alright folks, settle down!" General Thomason said. "Rumors have abounded that the worst nuclear accident since Chernobyl during the 20th century just occurred in Eastern Europe. These rumors are true." A wave of murmurs went through the room. "We've been activated, pending approval from the Armegedon government, to provide immediate support and assistance to the most heavily hit areas. Additionally, we need to immediately locate and evacuate all Khronion diplomatic personnel still in the country."

He paused to switch slides. "ORACLE simulations suggest that this incident may lead to increased unrest at home, due to the ongoing reactor expansion program in Northern Khronion. As such,a temporary media blackout is in effect in Khronion. Dissemination of any information regarding the nuclear meltdown is punishable by court martial. We ship out in 48 hours. Report to your section heads for immediate briefings on radiation sanitary procedures." He dismissed the assembled soldiers.

(IC) "CHRIS FUJINO!" The adviser came with news, yelling at Chris.

"Oh god, what is it now, citizens rebelling and destroying cities?" He said in devastation of the current events going on.

"No, the country of Khorin has asked us permission to deploy troops!" Adviser confidently said to Chris.

"If they're helping, then say yes! Besides the fact we're needing help, I got other news for you..."

"What, Chris Fujino?"

"ANOTHER reactor has blown up, I've been told by the chief of Armedegon National Police Division. Alert Campbell Nation and Khorin about this please. I'm too devastated about this, since the people building the damn things said nothing would happen!" He yelled slamming his fist on the desk.

"Y-YES SIR!" his Adviser said as he ran in fear of Chris.

The anti-riot troops had arrived on the scene to find the city in chaos. This, of course, had to be expected. What hadn't been expected was just how openly hostile the citizens were. In retrospect, it might have been a good idea to make some sort of announcement that the Campbell Nation forces were here to help and not, as some confused citizens seemed to believe, invading.
Within an hour of landing, three of the specialists were beaten by rioters, and one was in critical condition. Another riot trooper on the scene - a former army commissar who had seen combat in far flung regions of the world - immediately proceeded to draw his sidearm and, remembering the strict instructions to avoid deadly force, proceeded to club one of the attackers in the back of the head with his pistol. Although perhaps unorthodox, this did produce the desired effect of getting the attackers to back off.

The Captain's radio squawked to life as he supervised the directing of traffic away from the airport where federation planes were being guarded.

"Do we have some sort of plan with what to do here?" Yelled a voice over the radio. "There aren't enough of us to cover the whole city."

"There's too few of us and too much happening." Concurred a second. "We either need reinforcements or we need to retreat."

The Captain spoke calmly into his headset. "Alright. All units fall back to the gates of the power facility. Form a perimeter. From there we can start moving outwards."

"Sir, another reactor's gone, and the radiation-"

"That's why we have gas masks." Answered the Captain. He turned to one of the flight crew assigned to the transport planes. "Make contact with high command. Tell them we're on the ground, but under strength."

"Yes, sir."

*Chris Fujino and his staff have gone to the fallout shelter due to the office having a lack of radiation protection and the citizens rioting.*

"Chris Fujino, sir?" His adviser spoke.

"W-what?" He said in a scarred voice.

"We gotten reports Campbell riot troops are in the city, but the citizens are outnumbering them. And they don't seem to realize a 2nd reactor has exploded, leaving even more radiation in the city. Basically making this a DEFCON 1 situation type." the adviser spoke in a stressed voice.

"Why... Why did I approve that bill? WHY?" Chris Fujino had said. His staff thought he was going insane due to the conditions he was going under, possibly of fear of civilians killing him for approval of the bill, or the radiation affecting him. They confirmed radiation had affected him when he vomited.

"Oh god. I'm sick from radiation!" Chris yelled. He couldn't handle it anymore, the stress was turning him insane. He tried to control himself, but had to be constrained by his staff to prevent violence."

"We got to get him to a hospital after this is over!" His adviser yelled to the others.

A cloud of smoke rose on the horizon. As the helicopter moved further into the Level 4 Zone, Squad Commander Alvarez frowned. "That... Looks bad. ORACLE, can we get a sitrep update?"

Static. The heavy background radiation seemed to be interfering with their communication back to the command center. Another burst of static. Finally, the operator's voice came through. "Satellite reports indicate 2nd reactor failure. Updating strategic plots. Stand by for data transmission."

"Well, shit."

"Commander, I see a detachment of Campbell Nation riot troops on the ground. They're cornered in by rioters," the pilot reported.

"Alright then, I guess we know where we're headed. Hey folks, y'alls ready?" The other soldiers in the helicopter shrugged and nodded. "Okay. Remember, no deadly force until we receive express authorization. Let's not start WWIV, folks." He stumbled and grabbed onto a support handle. The door slid open, and he could see the helicopter was descending on the riot troopers' embattled position.

"Campbell Nation forces, this is Zeta Squad, 23rd Battalion, Khronion Military Forces. We are here to reinforce your position and evacuate any injured troops." He signaled to his compatriots to descend from the helicopter and for field medics to prepare for action. "Delegating tactical command to Campbell Nation forces."

There were several loud bangs as tear gas grenades detonated in the distance, providing cover as the Campbell Nation and Khronion troops reorganized themselves.

A spokesperson for Armedegon had told K'ha Thon that the country was preparing its scientists to move to Khronion to prepare the looking of the reactors that exploded at circa 11:50 AM to 2:32 PM.

The adviser had taken a look outside peeking to prevent the citizens from finding out where they are and basically stomp them out.

"Looks like K'ha Thon's soldiers have arrived, and are helping Campbell's soldiers!" he said.

"Oh great..." Chris Fujino said in sickness and a monotone voice.

"He must be getting worse, you can hear the radiation affecting his voice." A doctor said.

"Well it looks like we got no choice. We're going out there. Make sure your badges are in the open so the soldiers find us- if we don't get destroyed by civilians..." the adviser said.

The fallout shelter door had opened. The staff had a full look of the city, which looks like what would be from a nuclear missile's impact, but instead riots. It shows how much anger the people had against nuclear power.
Image

"Dear god. Well we might as well look for ANY soldier to help us get out." The adviser said.
"And get our leader to a hospital, he's just gone in a coma." the doctor pointed out.
"Lets stop talking then, and move!" the adviser said.

The citizens saw the staff from the office and went to basically tear them apart, ignoring the riot troops in the city.

Ground Zero, Armedegon

It had been more or less quiet for some time. Either the people had figured out that the radiation was too dangerous for anyone not in military gear, or they had found somewhere better to loot. The Captain was almost inclined to shrug it off, but he knew it could only be a temporary lull.

"Radio contact, captain." A voice buzzed over the comms. "Khronion military, 23rd Battalion. Reporting friendly."

"European Imperialists?" The Captain jested. "Well let's show them where we're set up."

The Captain took a few steps forward, and greeted the descending helicopters as soldiers - real, proper soldiers, - jumped out and moved into defensive positions.

Executive Tower, Campbell City

"If Khronion has regular military forces on the ground, then we ought to as well." The field Marshall bellowed. "If the local government collapses then our boys over there will be under the mercy of whoever can get troops in fastest."

"This is not a war, Field Marshall." Another advisor replied. "And we should be more concerned about the fallout situation. The commission specialists are trained for suppression, not radiological warfare."

The discussion went back and fourth for some time. Eventually it was decided that two supersonic transport planes would be scrambled carrying medication for radiation sickness. These valuable commodities would be guarded by a small force commandos from the People's Defence Forces - propper soldiers this time.

Additionally, the Field Marshall quietly ordered the alert of the 18th Shock Infantry. Although their transport planes were not permitted to leave the ground without direct orders, the troops had already been issued new and improved NBC anti radiation suits.

*the staff from the office have been going around the city for awhile, looking for soldiers and riot troops, getting huge doses of radiation in the process. They also thought to reorganize the radiation rating system to include a Level 5 Radiation if something like this were to happen again after this mess is cleaned up*

City Central,Armedegon

"Well the only thing I've seen that looks like military is the damaged Campbell vehicles." One of the staff said.

"Our priority is to evade civilians and find the soldiers and get out of here to Campbell. that seems like the place where radiation hasn't struck yet." the adviser said, annoyed.

'Why not Khorin? Is that not near us?" one of the staff said, confused.

"By my calculations, the 2nd reactor explosion has infected Khorin with a level 1 radiation. We should probably tell them that."

"Look, soldiers!" one of the doctors said, joyed

"It doesn't look like Khorin, nor Campbell." Chris said in a monotone voice.

"Hide behind the car then, might be enemies..." the adviser said. They all hid behind the car, eavesdropping on the two soldiers conversation.

"Can you believe they thought it was the reactor itself?" one of the soldiers said

"Yeah, fucking idiots going to be bankrupt, like the soviets after Chernobyl..." the other soldier said.

"Ha ha ha..." the first soldier laughed.

"I think those two were some enemies we haven't thought of..." the adviser said.

"Was it Warzone Asia that caused the sabotage?" the doctor had asked.

"No, I don't think they have the balls to do this sort of thing. Especially if it affects them."

"Lets keep going." Chris said in a monotone voice again.

1Km Northeast of Ground Zero

"This is Echo-Alpha-Three-Nine requesting clearance for landing."

The two pilots listened, hearing nothing but static from the surrounding radiation.

"This is Echo-Alpha-Three-Nine of the People's Defence Forces requesting landing clearance."

Once again, there was no sound but static.

"This is Echo-Alpha-Three-Nine of the People's Defence Forces requesting landing clearance. We are transporting medical aid to the area surrounding the power plant."

The pilot looked around the cockpit, somewhat worried. He knew that the radiation would be interfering with radio. Just thirty minutes ago had been forced to reroute communications to high command through satellite to avoid interference. Still, the silence was eerie.
In any case, there was no choice left. The decision to use supersonic aircraft to rush supplies meant that circling back was impossible. They would have to find somewhere to land, or they would run out of fuel. The pilot rechecked his navigational equipment, steering towards the airfield where the initial transport planes had landed.

WZAS Security Directorate HQ, Autonomous zone of North Campbell Nation

The Campbell Nation "diplomat" walked quickly and with purpose past the row of fresh-faced recruits lined up in uniform near the lobby. He ignored the busy secretaries compiling reports of terrorist plots foiled and secret weapons exposed. He ignored everyone, and marched straight into the director's office.

"What in Marx's name were you thinking?" The diplomat intoned.

The director smiled and waved away a secretary who was holding a stack of dossiers.
"If you want answers you're going to need to be a lot more specific."

In answer, the diplomat slammed a stack of papers all emblazoned with the Commission for Continuity of State Security's insignia. There were sattelite photos of the reactor explosions. Fallout maps. A list of federation assets deployed or otherwise on alert. At the bottom was a decrypted telegram from the Warzone Asia Security Directorate addressed to the diplomat's real life office in the Executive Tower.

"Looks like those riot troops are getting some training in nuclear warfare." The director smiled.

The diplomat was furious. "I sent those troops- those boys -into the disaster area because you said it was vital to regional security. Now a second reactor has exploded, and I'm getting chatter about WASP personnel on the ground without the Chancellor's permission."

"It's a real shame." The director nodded in agreement. "Real shame that no one in the capitalist bloc 'll be willing to invest in nukes. Real shame that those boys got sick trying to help the fat cats clean up their mess."

"This is not what socialism stands for." The diplomat argued.

"You're right." The director agreed. "This isn't about socialism. This is about Regional Security, and the future of the the world as we know it."

Thirty minutes later, a telegram was sent back to the Executive Tower. A federation diplomat had been killed in a tragic car accident.

The staff heard the helicopter blades, and tried to go where it was coming from. But a dead end stood in the way, and Chris Fujino has been vomiting from the Town Central to the dead end.

"Shit. He's getting worse and we're at a dead end!" The adviser yelled.

"We gotta go back, it's the only way out." another staff member yelled

"No, we gotta camp here until they find us!" A doctor said.

the staff party was having an argument until Chris Fujino tried to yell 'STOP!" but vomiting after that.

"We must head back out. If we even get lucky, we'll find soldiers to get us out of here." the adviser said.

6 minutes have passed, and Chris is vomiting each minute.

"God. How... long do... we have to... go?" A staff whined about

"Not anymore" the adviser said. He had spotted Campbell soldiers and made sure his badge was able to be seen.

"Lets go! I see some Campbell soldiers!" the adviser yelled out as they carried Chris over to them.

just then, a skyscraper had exploded, which crumbled, cutting the soldiers and the staff off from the helicopter.

OOC: Nope, just had a busy day.

City Central, Armedegon

The Captain had been trapped along with a small group of around seven anti-riot troopers and these civilians. They didn't look like rioters, which was good news. Two of the troopers ran over to help set the man being carried on the ground. The Captain turned, and looked at the overturned skyscraper. He listened to the wind. There was no sound of anything.

The captain was about to ask who the man was in the fancy suit flanked by other people in fancy suits, until he recognized their badges. These people were in charge - or supposed to be. He looked over Chris, who was in dire shape. He opened up his kit, and took out a small packet with individually wrapped pills. He held up a single one in front of Chris.

"This is powerful anti-nausea medication." The Captain attempted to explain, unsure of how much Chris would understand. "You put it in your mouth and it absorbs in your saliva. No swallowing required. It'll stop any vomiting and make you feel better."

"Why not give him the iodine?" Another trooper piped up.

"Because it won't do any good if he's vomiting and dehydrated." The Captain replied. At this, he handed Chris the small white pill. He went ahead and handed out pills to all the advisors.

"Now, as soon as that takes hold, we can try and figure out how to get back to the helicopters."

Local Airport, Armedegon

The transport plane had not received any word from air control, or anyone. Although the pilots knew where the landing strip was, actually finding it in the smoke was somewhat difficult. By the time the aircraft was lined up for landing, the plane was nearly out of fuel. The landing wasn't exactly textbook, but it was a landing. The pilot, realizing that the runway was built for much slower civilian aircraft, deployed the main parachute to slow the craft down. Aside from this, the craft was in one piece, and after some refueling could be fit to fly back.

As soon as the plane taxied to a halt, the commandos piled out. Having heard about the rowdiness of the populace, they took no chances. The soldiers moved as they would on a battlefield. After the first two boxes of medical supplies were unloaded, the troops moved towards the edge of the Tarmac. Reaching the perimeter fence, one of the men took the initiative and simply cut a hole through it, gaining access to the nearby road. Three soldiers stayed behind with the pilots to assist in scavenging for fuel and guarding the plane and its contents. The others started the trek towards the last known location of the Captain- the reactor facility.

"You're the Campbell Nation riot squads?" Chris had said in a monotone voice.

"Yeah. I'm the captain of this squad." the captain said.

'We heard the talking of two WASP soldiers, apparently this was to make us believe the reactor exploded itself, and to make Armedegon bankrupt. Like the soviets after Chernobyl." The adviser said.

"I'll make sure to tell the Chancellor about that. What was your plan before you found us?" the captain asked the adviser.

"We tried to find you and go to Campbell Nation to take our leader to the hospital. We'd go to Khorin, but that country has Level 1 Radiation. And I'm considering to make this country a Level 5 Radiation after this gets done." the adviser told the captain as they tried to find a way around the skyscraper. "Don't you have a flare?" the adviser asked the Captain.

OOC: I'm enjoying this RP, and I intend to stick with it as well.

The normally busy streets of Titanium Port are silent, save for the sounds of emergency vehicles blaring out warnings to the terrified citizenry: "All citizens. Shelter in place immediately and shut down all HVAC systems. Radioactive fallout has blanketed the country. Immediately report all suspected radiation casualties to Medical Dispatch. This is not a drill. All citizens..."

The hospitals were overwhelmed with minor cases of suspected radiation poisoning, but were thankful to report very few cases of acute radiation sickness. Preparations were underway to bring several radiation treatment wards online.

Disaster response crews scurried across the city, distributing untainted water and protective equipment to citizen. They reported a largely peaceful populace, too terrified by what could come next to start rioting, much to law enforcement’s relief.

K'ha Thon sat in his new office, located deep underground in a secure bunker, and rubbed his eyes. ORACLE dispatches continued to ping his computer, alerting him to additional nuclear reactor explosions, explosions that did not match the profile of a cheaply-built reactor experiencing catastrophic meltdown. No, ORACLE was convinced that these explosions were caused by carefully placed demolitions-grade explosives.

But that was preposterous. What did ORACLE know? It was only a huge server farm running the most sophisticated simulations and automated data analyses day in, day out. The data seemed to say sabotage, but K'ha Thon desperately wanted to believe that this was just a reactor failure, nothing more.

His reflection was interrupted as an aide ran into his office. "Coded dispatch from forces stranded in Armegedon, sir. The Campbell Nation has heavily ramped up its presence in the region, and we've lost contact with the first team we sent into the area."

K'ha Thon nodded. "Activate the military. I need intelligence flights over the region -- locate that team, and get us a clearer picture about what's going on the ground. Anything that ORACLE can use to guide our next steps. I need Intel looking into suspected groups behind these reactor explosions, and immediate domestic threat assessments."

"Already on it sir. Intel Director Johansen is already looking into possible hostile actors, but our intelligence network in Eastern Europe has been historically weak."

"Very good."

It's been minutes since the staff and the troopers met. The pill the captain gave Chris seems to work, as Chris only vomited once or twice on the trip to the reactor.

"I'm going in the building to see if there's anything interesting in it. You two soldiers, come with me. Other two and riot squad, stay with the staff." the captain said, giving orders."

As the captain went inside the building, he noticed there were survivors. All almost looking like the Ghouls from the Fallout series. He went up to one and asked him a question.

"Did you see anything odd before this disaster?" the captain asked.

"I... I saw... a explosion near the... nuclear plants... before the big explosio-" the survivor said as he died from acute radiation sickness.

"Well shit. We might as well go back." the captain said with the two soldiers going back out.

However, when they came back, they notice what appeared to be traces of a C4 bomb.

"Holy shit... This might be a sabotage after all. Hurry, to the others."

Reactor Facility

The Captain spent a moment, standing, processing. His mind worked through the scenario. What did WASP have to do with this? I mean, it wouldn't be out of the question. But if that was true, why had their unit been sent? The Campbell Nation was a member of the Warzone Asia Socialist Pact, albeit one of the less ideologically extreme ones. His department, the Commission for Continuity of State Security, would not send ground troops if they were also still planning to sabotage things. But they might at someone else's suggestion. Who was calling the shots here?

The Captain tensed up instinctively, having thought he heard a noise. He kept still and listened, and heard several sets of loud footsteps. He pulled out his sidearm and moved against the wall. Out of the dimly lit hallway eight soldiers appeared in full NBC suits. Two of the soldiers were carrying medical kits. The Captain recognized the manufacturing of the uniforms and sighed with relief.

"Where in Campbell's name have you guys been?" The Captain asked, not actually caring for an answer. "Come on, I've got some VIPs that could use some of that medicine."

"Hopefully that gets rid of my radiation." Chris said, noticing the troops with the kits.

As they were giving the staff the radiation kits to use, the captain came up to the adviser.

"You maybe right. I retrieved a piece of C4 from the plant and a survivor which- didn't survive to be a witness..."

"Maybe it is WASP. But I don't recall Armedegon having any problems with WZA. Maybe it was a terrorist?" the Adviser said. He didn't want to believe it was a WASP sabotage. Sounds like a cheesy movie plot in the 80's during the Cold War.

"You two, where did you come from? We're trying to get back to Campbell. Do you know the path you took?" the captain asked the NBC soldiers.

Reactor Facility, Armedegon

"Yeah," Answered the soldier, his voice muffled by the mask. He pulled it up slightly so that they could converse. "Why're you asking?"

"These people have to get to Campbell City." Stated the Captain. "This is the head of state for Armedegon and he needs medical attention."

"I… See." Replied the lead soldier, putting a hand on the Captain and pulling the both of them aside. "Tell me, Captain, have you seen anything… unusual on your assignment here?"

"I've seen more radiation than at certain nuclear detonations." The captain replied. "And the reactor is in worse shape than most meltdowns. I've found some circumstantial evidence to suggest deliberate sabotage."

The soldier shifted uncomfortably. His memory flashed back to his run-in with several political officers just prior to departure. He didn't remember the words they had spoken so much as the tone they had used while speaking. It had cast a whole different light on this mission. The soldier did his best to imitate the tone of voice as he spoke.

"It was probably terrorists." The soldier stated. "Some anti-capitalist spontaneous demonstrations.

The Captain nodded. It was precisely the same language and intonation that was used at the department when a file was about to be lost. At once he understood the point that was being driven at.

"The advisors-" The Captain began

"We'll get them medical attention. Though it may be some time before they're ready to get back to work." The soldier nodded. "Traumatic experiences can have odd effects on people."

With that, the conversation was over. The soldier went over to Chris and took down names and various important details, and radioed to the planes to make contact with Campbell City and request a priority flight corridor.

Executive Tower, Campbell City

"They want to bring them here?" The Executive Commissioner for State Security asked with inherent suspicion.

"Yes." The courrier replied. "Theyre requesting clearance to land at the airfield near Woodhouse Memorial Hospital."

"Under our own laws and treaties we can't refuse them if they claim asylum." The Foreign minister interjected. "They're not contagious and we're not at war. We can't simply refuse."

The Executive Commissioner for State Security shot the foreign minister a glare that would make most detainees sign a confession. Chancellor Campbell sat up and leaned forward.

"By all means."

This time everyone else sat forward. Everyone in the room looked to the Chancellor for clarification.

"By all means let them in. Let them land, treat them, feed them, and make them comfortable. When they're feeling better, transfer them to a hotel in in the museum district and give them the full tour of the Capitol."

"And if any of these rumors…" Campbell paused, looking at the Executive Commissioner. "… start to surface and cause trouble, then we need only remind them that they are guests in our glorious country."

time has passed, and the staff, the troopers, and Chris have gotten to the plane and are heading towards Campbell Nation.

"How long do you think the radiation will be still at Armedegon?" the adviser asked a scientist.

"Well, since we got reports of potential sabotage, and this explosion being more massive than Chernobyl or Fukushima, this might last for decades, probably hundreds. Although the design flaw was obvious, we think it wouldn't be too much of a problem to cause something like this."

"Well shit. Chris sir, should I prepare some live broadcast or something?" the Adviser asked.

"Yes. Prepare a special emergency feed to Armedegon. They must know." Chris replied.

2 minutes have passed, and the Adviser has set up the equipment to do the live broadcast. Chris has started to say some things.
For any civilians still in, Armedegon... We think that, this wasn't a disaster caused by design flaw... We think it might be, a terrorist attack. We do not know who, or what caused this to happen. I claim Armedegon to be a, closed border country, with any civilians in the country still, to leave. The borders are to remain open until tomorrow, which they'll close. The only person that, should be in the country are, the radiation cleanup teams. I, Chris Fujino, have been affected by radiation. If I die, my last words should be... Humans can try, and try, and try to, control nature. But, nature proves it's strong, even for humans, the most dominant species.

The plane landed at the airfield just outside the hospital. The pilot did his utmost to make the landing a smooth one, but it was still rather jolting. As they taxied, a small contingent of greeters had assembled. A small group of soldiers stood at attention in dress uniform. Beside them, some of the more mobile patients had assembled- a number of children in wheelchairs sat in a crowd. Some waved miniature flags. One proudly wore a scarf from the Warzone Asia Socialist Pact Friendship Summit over her hospital gown. All of them cheered as the ground crew helped prepare the plane for unloading. A set of loudspeakers played parade music quietly in the background, and several reporters began snapping photographs and video like mad.

"Should've worn my medals." The Captain joked to one of the advisors. "It seems like they've rolled out the welcome mat. It's no Revolution Day parade, but this was on short notice."

"Don't they know of the reports of WASP secretly sabotaging the reactor?" Chris thought to himself as he saw the woman with the WASP friendship scarf. he also signed the captain to come over where Chris was.

"Aren't you gonna tell the people in charge of Campbell about the possible sabotage?" he asked.

"I was going to. Why, you don't want that surfacing?" the captain replied.

"No, I just want WASP to be sued or just suffer a punishment." Chris said to the captain.

Reactor Construction Site 22a
0930h

"Protesters. This gathering has been declared an illegal assembly. Leave this area at once or we will be forced to use force," Chief Zhang warned. The protestors responded by surging forwards. "Shit, shit, shit!" he swore, raising his riot shield. "Hold the line!" He jumped behind a barricade as nearby riot tanks began shooting water jets into the crowds. "Fox 1 to command, situation degrading. Going to need some help here."

The increasingly disastrous situation in Armegedon had turned an uncomfortable political situation at home into an unstable one. The reactor expansion program, once in full swing, had been halted simply because massive throngs of protesters made it impossible to continue construction. It was a grim picture. More alarmingly, there were rumors of foreign instigators agitating the mobs, helping push organized demonstrations into wild riots. All this against the backdrop of light nuclear fallout and rumors of State actors being involved in the Armegedon disaster.

Of course, these details were less important to Chief Zhang, who was trying to figure out how a police force of 500 could keep peace in a city that seemed to have 20 rioters for every officer on his payroll. He checked his armor, and resettled his grip on his riot shield. It was going to be a very long day.

Titanium Port, Secured Executive Command Bunker
1700h

"...and it's not looking good. Massive law enforcement casualties and unconfirmed reports of anti-cap agitators instigating more violent riots. Radiation levels are still rising, but that doesn't seem to deter any of the populace. And to top it off, some sketchy intelligence reports that the Warzone Asia Socialist Pact might be tied somehow to the Armegedon disaster."

"Might be?"

"We've lost contact with all of our eastern intelligence network. A key relay node was damaged by the first reaction explosion."

K'ha Thon frowned. Sure, relations had been frosty, but somehow he didn't see them stooping to the level of such terrorist excess. "Are you... sure?"

"Our analysts aren't 100% certain. ORACLE can only give accurate conclusions with accurate data. To be honest, we're not sure what's going even at home, what with the massive unrest."

"Okay. Well, I need all the data you have pointing to potential WASP involvement at once. Anyone at ground zero in Armegedon -- I need them extracted for debriefing at once." He paused. "And I want a tap placed on every WASP-affiliated diplomat. Especially The Campbell Nation's."
